As for Yujiro... It's a mixed bag. Muhammad's father is one of the few people Yujiro truly respects, and as such, he doesn't treat Ali Jr with the disrespect and contempt he treats most people. I think he would be pretty amused with Ali's flirting, maybe even commend him on his good taste. But the moment he takes it a step too far and either asks you on serious date or (god forbid) tries to put his hands on you in some way, that boy will be knocked out so hard his ass won't know what hit him. Since he would want to at least try and avoid killing him, Yujiro will instead make sure to put him a coma so that he's out of the picture for a very long time. :)

Based on the pattern of canon, reader does unwittingly know the person behind the mask, although he won't be revealed in this fic. It's possible character cameos could make you speculate about his identity. I agree it's hot to think about him absolutely railing you (or vis-versa 🤭) and then, unbeknownst to you, casually interacting in daily life 🥵🥵🥵

So, actually, the funny thing is I've hit a slump on this WIP because I couldn't decide if I wanted them to go the smut route or not lmao. For growing up in Harrenhal, both of them seem fairly normal from what we saw of them in the show. It is possible though that both of them could have spent less time at Harrenhal than Larys. We’re told in Fire & Blood that Lyonel studied at the Citedel for a significant amount of time before he became Lord of Harrenhal and later on he came to court to be Viserys’s master of laws and then eventually Hand.

As far as Harwin goes, I can see him potentially having been sent to ward elsewhere. Not that there’s any evidence to point to that, but it’s possible. In general at the very least, Larys’s disability would have kept him inside more than his brother who would have been preoccupied with training and outdoor activities expected of a lord’s son.

It could also be a situation like a traditional haunted house where someone with trauma and/or a more fragile mindset is more susceptible to being latched onto by Alys/whatever forces are at work in Harrenhal. Larys likely would have faced ableism since birth, which could easily lead to negative self-image and a personality more easily exploitable by Harrenhal’s darkness. For example, at least so far, Daemon’s visions in Harrenhal revolve around his own guilt and fractured relationships. If both Lyonel and Harwin had decent lives with strong relationships and no significant trauma, they might have been able to live in Harrenhal relatively unscathed.

But of course, that’s all complete speculation on my part! It’s just as likely Larys simply is Like That with no supernatural involvement from Alys/Harrenhal. I do think him mentioning it indicates he’s had some experience with the strangeness of Harrenhal, but who knows to what extent unless it’s expanded upon in later episodes.

My gut reaction was - I am too soft to write (or even think up) a Dark!Peeta fic. I struggle with villains and conflicts in my writing as is…

But the more I thought about it, I came up with this idea and in the spirit of the 5 facts in an AU ask game:

Katniss wakes in the hospital with a concussion and memory loss- she’s been in a car crash with her husband, Ryen, and his identical twin brother, Peeta. Rye is by her side when she wakes having only suffered minor injuries- he breaks the news - Peeta died in the crash.

They head home - the funerals’s a blur - between the concussion the medication her brain is foggy. She broke her heel in the crash and spends a lot of time in bed. Rye spends as much time as possible with her, carrying her from room to room. Despite everything she’s content something that feels out of the ordinary in her previous life.

She notices Rye doesn’t add sugar in his tea - Ryen teasing his brother that ‘tea without sugar’s just soup’ pops into her mind. When she asks him, he shrugs it off ‘tastes change’

Paperwork come from the insurance it says Peeta was driving… that doesn’t make sense, Rye needed the control of being in the driver seat.

Something’s not right but she can’t focus long enough to keep track of all the discrepancies. She stops taking her medications and memories begin to return. She hadn’t been happy in the marriage before the crash: abuse, infidelity, suspicion… the only bright spot had been her friendship with Peeta

Katniss confronts Rye with her memories. He doesn’t deny it but tells her, since the crash, it’s like he’s a new man. He wants them to start again. He’d never do those things now. He tells her he fell in love with her when he heard her sing the Valley song on the first day of Kindergarten. Can they start again?

They make love

But something still doesn’t feel right… She sneaks out of bed after Rye’s falls asleep and searches the attic until she finds an old yearbook confirming what she already suspected - she shared a kindergarten class with Peeta not Rye.

Lightning flashes and she looks up to find Rye, or rather Peeta. Standing over her and she can tell that he knows she’s figured it out. “Why couldn’t you just let us be happy?”

Fade to black.

~2 months later she wakes in the hospital yet again - her mind a fog of of nightmarish visions and she can’t sort what’s real or not real.

The nurse arrives and explains that lightning had struck and their house had caught fire. Her husband had pulled her out of the flames and now they’re both here being treated for smoke inhalation and burns.

She’s lucky to have survived.

Even luckier that so had the baby…

IT WAS AMAZING. IT TRULY MEANT EVERYTHING TO ME.

when i was told that weird wonderful world was dead all that time ago, i was so insanely devastated. it was (and still is) my favorite watcher series of all time. i have struggled with anxiety for a long time, and the thought of leaving my house makes me so nervous, but weird wonderful world made me want to explore the world and talk to people. it highlighted, friendship, curiosity, education, adventure, and human connection in a way that i thought was so unique and inspiring, and the thought of never seeing another episode again made me so insanely sad.

so when i watched that first episode, i was so beyond joyful. it reminded me that we’ve got this wonderful show back, this show that means the world to me. and it’s (hopefully) NEVER leaving again 😭🙏

i can’t explain how happy i am that i get to see new episodes of this little beautiful show. i know that love and kindness and human connection exist because WWW is FULL of it!!!

both ck the show writers and parts of the fandom seem to collectively forget about kyler harming sam, or think it was deserved because rich girl and karma for letting aisha be bullied. part of me wouldn't have been surprised if they'd went as far as to say that in-show to 'resolve' the deal about what he did but far too easier to ignore it smh!

I'm fortunate to say that I'm part of the fandom that hadn't implied or outright claimed Sam could in anyway deserve getting assaulted by Kyler, jeez!!! That being said, you are completely right about how it seems Cobra Kai had forgotten the wrongdoings Kyler had committed against Sam; it's not a competition, but I'm not impressed how Miguel (and Eli + Demetri) are given the narrative space to forgive and recognize Kyler for growing and moving on (or whatever his final appearance was...)... while Sam doesn't get the catharsis of justice or acknowledgement from the asshole that got away with inappropriately touching and spreading rumors??

Now realistically, that doesn't always happen — it's disappointing, but it's true. Sam having an awful experience with a boy that used her in high school and having to move on in life isn't an uncommon tragedy for teenage girls. However, I question why Miguel, Eli, and Demetri are given the priority in the narrative to get a satisfying conclusion with their former high school bully instead.

I'm not going to get into the sexism of Cobra Kai and the prioritization of the male character stories over female, but this is one of the many ways this exists in Cobra Kai.

can you taste your dreams? i can. it tastes like vanilla and strawberries and raw mango and something that i've never tasted before, not when i was awake. i am not sure what it is, but it's sweet. i don't think i like it. i wake up to the cloying scent of spider lilies and blink a few hundred thousand times. give me a second, i just need to hack up these damn flowers in my throat. mind the blood when you walk inside my room. it stains.

when you dream, do you breathe? i do. i think it's the only time i do. my sister sleeps with her arm thrown over me. she tells me i shake in my sleep. even in my dreams, i am afraid. of what? of love. always of love.

Here's the summary written in my drafts :

Nobody’d ever understand the horrors airmen faced when 20,000 feet in the air. Disconnected from the world, one with their crew and their flying fortress. The aftermath of a mission always left Buck reeling. It was such an eerie feeling, to know that dozens of men were gone, their bodies never to be found. Most of the airmen’s graves were empty, almost none held only the body of the man whose name was engraved. Thorpe Abbotts was more of a haunted base than anything. Ghosts wandered and mingled amongst them, disappearing whenever Buck turned to see Dickie’s scribbling in a corner or reached out to steady a victorious Curt, leaving him cold and alone in the midst of faces too young to be this haunted. 

They all had different ways to cope with the ghosts. Bucky numbed himself with whatever he could find. Smokes, alcohol, fighting sometimes. Buck worked himself to the bone, took care of the men around him hard enough that he could barely think about the men gone. 

In the midst of it all, they both come to an agreement to help each other feel alive.

Basically, it'll be a multi chapter fic not quite friends with benefits but Buck and Bucky decide that the best way to feel alive is to kiss each other (hence the title). No feelings tho cuz that'd be weird right?

Bucky has a crisis because he feels like he's taking advantage of kind Buck and it really isn't fair to Marge but now that he knows what Buck's lips feel like on his own, he just can't bring himself to stop since y'know he's been in love with Gale for what feels like forever

Buck has a crisis because how come it feels so right to kiss Bucky ? Why does it feel better than kissing Marge ? surely because he's forgotten what she felt like right ? It's just been too long but when he'll come back to Marge, it'll be like nothing's changed. Bucky and him are just buddies helping buddies

Except at some point he has to realize his own feelings for Bucky but by the time Gale goes past his own inner homophobia (everyone says thanks Gale's dad for that), they're in the Stalag and Bucky's too miserable to feel joy or act on it.

There'll be lots of angst, plenty of pining, a healthy dose of hurt/comfort (which by my standards means they'll both have absolute terrible time) and perhaps a bit of fluff. Also lots of kissing, with maybe a tad more feelings than Buck had in mind when he offered the deal to Bucky

hi ali :) i really do pretty much only listen to mahler hehe. if there's any mahler symphony you haven't gotten around to yet i would recommend that first before literally anything else. leaps and bounds before anything else.

currently my brainworms are 6 and 7 :)

also if youre interested in something different but still mahler, i really like listening to piano versions of mahler symphonies. it's like being able to see "through" the symphony in a way. what you lose in texture you gain in clarity! you can find all of them on youtube. :)

that being said there are other things i really like, i just havent been listening to them recently bc im so stuck on gustav. unfortunately theyre pretty standard... nothing hidden gem like... but my non mahler fav symphonies are:

honestly think that's kind of what I dislike about TV these days anyway tho? like, we don't get filler anymore--and filler is kinda what drives you to develop such intense relationships with these characters, y'know? take older shows like The Vampire Diaries for example! the first season of TVD had like 20 something episodes and not all of that was necessarily pivotal to the plot--but it gave you a chance to actually get to know the characters and really root for them.

I understand there's probably a lot of budget issues and production stuff and whatever else that impacts this and I just am not educated enough on the topic to know of it, but it still just kind of sucks from a viewer perspective.

anyways, that's my rant for the day I suppose.
