Oooo let’s see what my brain can come up with!

He wears mis-matching socks. If they’re clean, he doesn’t care if the dint match.

Most emotionally aware out of all the Batch.

I think he is deaf in his scarred ear that’s why he talks so loud! (Someone also made the point that he was blind in his eye but I can’t remember where I saw it)

Prefers sweet and savoury over spicy

As a cadet he would say he was never scared of the dark but would secretly turn a nightlight on under his blanket.

Would make ‘your mum’ jokes

Is the most underrated of the Batch.

29. What animal do you associate with each Batcher?

Hunter - would it be cliche to say a Wolf or a Bloodhound?

Echo - Otter. Super cute but would bite.

Wrecker - He’s a puppy. He gives Golden Retriever energy.

Tech - For intelligence reasons, I’d say an Octopus. But, he also gives me Snowy Owl vibes.

Crosshair - A Hawk or a Honey Badger. Fierce and won’t go down without a fight.

Omega - Struggled with this one but I’ll go with a Rabbit. Cute, cause mischief, clever.

Is there a new genre you'd like to write?

That's a good question! I've written mostly genre fiction my whole life, but I did do a foray into literary stuff a few years back solely for school but it was... neat! More interesting than I thought it would be. I think working in that genre improved my writing in all aspects, for sure, and it let me play around in a different space, but also? I have so little patience for so much literary fiction that I think any extended attempt to write in it would cause me physical pain.

...so to answer your question I dunno! I did a mystery once, that was really hard and scared me so I don't think I'd do that again. I've done detective fiction, I've done urban (or more like country) fantasy. I think a new genre I'd like to try would be horror, but... honestly very few prose works have scared me? I love horror movies, I find those affecting, but prose rarely gets me more than "vaguely unsettled." Love the atmosphere, though. I'd like to try it, but my previous attempts have been... ineffective, I thought!

Is there a new POV you'd like to try writing?

I think so, but it's scary! I enjoy first person and third-person limited. That's kind of where my skill lies. I think omniscient is interesting, I'd kind of like to try it, but also, it feels SO easy to fuck it up.

What does your first draft look like? What kind of revisions do you do for a second, third etc? Do you drafts change a lot or a little between each?

You know it's funny, I was just talking to me sister (they/them) about this.

I have a really bad habit that I theorized started back in high school. When I was ordered to write an essay on whatever topic they tried to hammer it into my head to write a rough draft; I thought the concept was dumb since I'd have to go back and re-write the whole thing. SO I just edited ideas in my own head and only wrote things down once I liked what they said (or just spammed out the words and refused to edit them).

I've noticed that concept has carried over into my modern writing and it has caused problems. I don't actually start writing something till I already know what it looks like; which is a problem because I've run into many walls of "I don't know where to begin with this idea". So I'm in a needless loop of "don't write till it's fully formed" and "just write bullshit so you can fully form an idea". As such most of the "rough drafts" of my shorts just turn into the full 'release' with a few edits.

I'm trying to teach myself how to let myself write 'badly' lol

Just everything about it. The characters, the design, the story, the love between brothers and new adopted daughter/sister, the missions. Honestly it’s hard to put into words what this show has done for me. It makes me incredibly happy. It was beautiful.

21: Road trip with the Batch! Who’s driving? Who’s in charge of music, etc?

I’m going to put Crosshair and Echo as the drivers (switching form time to time). They will not stop at any pit stops so don’t ask.

Now I’m a sucker for classic road trip music so I’m going to put Hunter down for music so he can play ‘country roads’ repeatedly all the way there.

Wrecker and Omega are in charge of snacks and just have to hope they don’t eat and drink it all first.
