Finally answering the tag by @onewingedsparrow with the OC interview! Sorry for the delay, I strayed out of thought and time, etc. Also thanks for the tag!
For this, I'll be answering as Agent Jeanne Townford, the protagonist from A Four-Dimensional plot.
OC Interview Game
Were you named after anyone?
Not that I know of. It could have been a family name, but if so no one told me.
When was the last time you cried?
Uh. I'd prefer not to answer that.
Do you have any kids?
No. Which is probably good for the kids.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I have no idea what you're talking about/j
What is the first thing you notice about people?
Uh, their eyes, I guess? They tell you a lot about a person. Also their voice. Lots of character hiding in the voice.
What is your eye color?
Brown.
Scary movies or happy endings?
Both? I don't know. Scary movies can be nice sometimes, but I like to know if the characters will be okay. Or the dogs, at least.
Any special talents?
I am a weapons specialist, so I guess that counts? I have a knack for learning new systems and also a good aim.
Where were you born?
At home, actually. We lived out of town, our car was broken, and I came out quicker than anyone expected. My dad used to joke that if the same situation happened again he wasn't calling the ambulance, he'd just burn some dollars instead.
Do you have any pets?
No. I'm out of the house most of the day, which isn't a good lifestyle for most creatures.
What sort of sports do you play?
Not really into sports, actually, though I used to be interested in ice hockey when I was a kid.
How tall are you?
165 cm, last I checked. About 5'5 for any Americans in the crowd.
What was your favorite subject in school?
Does the library count? Otherwise, Mithae. It was the only one that seemed like it could apply to outside stuff. Didn't use much of it, though.
What is your dream job?
One that doesn't want to fire me, I guess. Otherwise, I like most jobs that let me help people.

Happy spoopy season STS! Which of your OC's is the Final Girl and how do they survive the horror movie?
Hmmmmm
As per a previous ask I've noticed that I tend to write characters that are "horror movie protags that fight back", which to my knowledge lines up with the trop of Final Girls. That said, I'm now imagining Sam or Lars in crop-tops and short-shorts having to run away from a classic horror villain and this brings me joy.
The most appropriate answer here would be to nominate Joshua (of Broken Whole). He's a mundane human who's greatest "power" is being the moral/emotional foundation of supernatural people. As such he'd absolutely be a camp-counselor desperately trying to save the other characters from a classic horror monster, till it was only him left (and surviving). Which kind of lines up with the multiple layers of survivors guilt he has ICly anyways.

Break - Stalwart Defender
break: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest?
You’ve picked out a character I haven’t worked with much, and I appreciate that!
Stalwart defender - Faridun, a paladin of a judicial deity
Anything that threatens his sibling, honestly. Seeing them completely overwhelmed and him unable to do a thing about it.
Alternatively, being sent into a situation where there is no good or right answer, and every choice results in harm being done. For all he is a righteous paladin, he has a tender heart under his duties.
He has an immense capability to keep on moving, and doing, when his world is falling apart around him, but his smile disappears. His sense of humor goes with it, and he’s more often than not going to be found deep in prayer and contemplation during his downtime. When he breaks, he fully breaks down into sobbing, collapsed on his knees or in a chair.
Faridun has no issue with being seen as he fails to manage or handle emotions (a drastic change from quite a few other characters), though out of respect for those around him, he doesn’t actively try to be in public when it happens. He seeks out those he considers close friends for advice and support.

Welp, the last thing I wrote was a character bio that timed out at exactly seven sentences (including her name lol) so uh...
Agent Jeanne Townford
Her goals in life are... not very existent; honestly, she didn't think she'd get this far. The one thing she knows is that she wants to help people have a better and safer life than she did. Except every job she's worked ends up turning on her, seemingly punishing her for that idea. Now, she's aware that she's one mistake away from getting fired from her favorite job yet (the mix of helping people, using her knowledge of weapons, and directly interacting with the extra-normal makes it a neat combo), so she's trying to keep her job by, uh, well, listening to a fugitive's sob story and deciding to hide him in her basement instead of arresting him. She believes him, and she can't turn away someone who needs her. And now he's her only friend—so that means helping him at all costs.

Thanks for the tags @willtheweaver and @tildeathiwillwrite !
The last thing I wrote on was actually uhhhhhhhhh a Human Sonic AU fanfic but anyways cringe is dead so!
Under the cut for (vague) reference to self harm.
Espio kept his head down while they walked along the sidewalk. He looked so... ashamed.
Vector felt stupid for not noticing earlier. He knew Espio struggled with perfectionism and self-worth issues. He knew that he got really depressed. Of course he shoulda put that together with the fact that Espio never wore short sleeves. He prided himself on being good at putting two and two together. And for something this important, he hated himself for not recognizing it sooner.

Yeah no context for this unless you follow the AU on my sideblog to my other account but anyway I've been having so much fun with angst lately 😈

Hello tumblr. A fic-writing question lead me to look up a word to make sure I was using it right, and now Scribe and I are losing our minds a little. Those of you who are also old enough to remember having a non-cellphone phone in your house, please weigh in:
Without looking it up, what part of the phone is the receiver?

Also follow up: Do you think Dipper tells Pacifica about his parents spitting up? I know Pacifica has problems with her parents when she tells Dipper. This is, ofc, assuming that the Pines parents divorced amicably at the end.
At the end of the series, no. Pacifica and Dipper aren’t that close to each other, though that is changing. Nor do I think Dipper would tell any of his other friends in Gravity Falls either.
I don’t think Dipper would mention it during the summer. Staying at the mystery shack is probably a way to put it out of the twins head. And because they never brought it up during the show I assume this is what they were doing. It’s a subject that Dipper wouldn’t really bring up.
If Dipper and Pacifica do stay in contact during the school year and grow closer then I think he would tell her. It’s not a subject he can pretend isn’t occurring anymore.
He would find solidarity with Pacifica. The divorce will strain his relationship with his parents. And Pacifica is dealing with that as she starts to see the abuse they lay on her. But it’s also different, nothing indicates that Dippers parents don’t love him or mistreat him, while there’s no indication that Pacifica’s parents want a divorce.
What I think does bind them and what they will talk about is their rapidly changing life’s. Pacifica has to handle the loss of family wealth and the home she knew all her life. What she knew of her past and the world has been proven to be a lie. And she is now tapping into her more empathic and caring side. Dipper will be dealing with a family that is breaking apart, possibly new people dating his parents trying to join his life. And navigating the custody agreement between his parents.
They are similar, but wouldn’t feel like getting a double helping of the same problems.

Just a curious question: do you think the show's narrative tends to be a bit hard on Ford? Like, at the end of J3 Ford kind of self-depreiciates that he needs to trust people, even tho theres not much to show Ford that he needs to. Like, he got betrayed by many people, so I dont find it fair he needs to be forced to trust people.
Even Hirsch in an early interview claimed that Ford was in the wrong about his arrogance and so on.
https://www.tvinsider.com/73765/gravity-falls-series-finale-alex-hirsch-interview/
...Yeah, tbh.
Like.  Ford was written as being betrayed by multiple people, so it’s not a shock he has a hard time trusting people.  While learning to trust people again could be a rewarding step in the healing process, the way it’s played is kinda...uncomfy.
Like.  Ford has trust issues because of all the betrayals and Bill’s severe abuse of him.
Ford’s trust issues are not an “ego” thing.
Honestly, Alex says...a lot of gross things about Ford that very much reek of victim blaming.  Despite the fact that he somehow managed to write a pretty realistic portrayal of an abusive relationship.
I tend to take what Alex says with a grain of salt.  Given the shit he’s said about Ford (he literally said Ford deserved to lose Stan forever.  Like wtf.) and even Pacifica (he said her parents weren’t abusive and that it’s just Rich People Shit™), I REALLY don’t take interviews into account.

Rhys does Not trust his Grammy's visitor
I didn't like how he said things. Simply, directly, but in a way that felt like if you turned a dial you'd clue into his actual radio frequency and hear all his threats and nasty thoughts as they were.

Imagine: seeing alhaitham crumbling below you as you're riding him. He's cursing at you and telling you how much he hates you between low groans and you're just like "hm, is that so? doesn't really look like it"
His ego is just too big and he's so self assured and confident in himself that I just wanna destroy him.😩😩
what i wouldn’t give to call him a “poor thing” while he struggled to keep his composure.
that’s just it, isn’t it. he hates the fact that you’re the one thing that sends his normally stoic facade crumbling.
nsfw below the cut :9
he assumes that maybe fucking you rough and hard against the nearest surface would finally make you fall apart just like he always does in your presence.
but it all still remains. that stupid fucking smirk you wear all the time. looking down at him as he’s sent reeling below you, now bouncing on his cock as he’s left gasping at the intensity of your movements. that self-satisfied expression finds its way again to lips that he can’t seem to keep his mind off of.
his broad hands find their way to those curves he curses for plaguing his thoughts when he has work to be doing. but instead of guiding you like he imagined, it seems like he’s rather holding on for dear life, all while your stupid hole squeezes him so tight, shit, shit, shit.
“haitham?” you breathe out, a lilting tone almost too sickly sweet to bear. “what’s the matter?” a particularly harsh grind down on his cock leaves him squirming below you, breath caught in his throat as he chokes out a surprised moan. “too overwhelmed?”
“f-fuck you…” he gasps, feeling his self-control slip just that much more.
“that’s the plan, mr. scribe~”

Headcanon that the current Solemnace crew all have Waist Inventory™, taking after their overlord, who still carries his curios in this manner despite also having free access to such things as dimensional pockets and tessarect labyrinths. We know the Huntmaster canonically carries his trophies like this, and since Sannet apparently fashions his writing implements out of his own necrodermis, it doesn't sound too far-fetched that he might keep field notes and the like in a similar fashion. Ashkut could have a chronomancer prod there or something. The possibilities are endless

Dis-like-Dysentery
I have a lot of very specific headcanons about Auradon Prep, and one of them is the fact that Jay is both a Smart Guy, and also chronically incapable of turning in assignments on time. For. Reasons.
this might be about one of those reasons.
+
Carlos looks up from his plate as Jay wanders over. “Dude, where were you? We started eating without you.”
“Talking to a teacher. I submitted an assignment wrong, or something.”
Carlos nods. He’s got a fork dangling from one hand, and there’s a leaf stuck in his hair. Sunlit from behind, Jay’s pretty sure that he’s the prettiest boy on this side of the barrier. “Oh, man. Was it Demorra? She’s super strict about the rules, especially for the online stuff. I could’ve helped you figure it out bro, you don’t have to get through her bureaucratic shit on your own.”
Jay sets his tray down on the opposite side of the table. “Nah. It was Williams.”
Carlos frowns. “The international lit teacher? Really?”
They’ve been reading through Jay’s lit assignments together. Auradon expects them to type up all of their homework, so he’s been getting by with the hacked dictation program on his laptop and locking himself in the bathroom to read his essays out loud into the program with the minimum of background noise.
There’s a peer writing tutor who does proofreading two nights a week for free, but Jay’s not gonna take his shitty essays in to her when he’s pretty sure he’ll just get laughed right back out of the student study room for the giant default font Carlos set on his computer.
It doesn’t exactly make reading his own assignments easier, but it doesn’t make it worse either, so they’re calling it functional for now. Auradon Prep is all about “helping students embrace their unique academic talents”, so Carlos and Evie are both being pulled for more advanced classes, which is great for them, and terrible for Jay’s essays because it’s seriously starting to cut into their free time.
That, and the trouble they’ve been getting up to after hours.
The assistant gym teacher still hasn’t figured out who to blame for French braiding all the climbing ropes together.
“She couldn’t read my handwriting.”
“Fuck.”
That’s about the shape of it. Handwritten assignments are few and far between, but Jay can’t bullshit his way through all of them. “Haha, yeah.”
Carlos thunks his head down onto the table. “Ugh. Fuck. I can make you a handwriting font on the computer, but that’ll make in-class assignments worse if you can’t keep it up.”
“Yup.”
He sits up. There’s a dent on his forehead from pressing it into the table. “Eat.”
“Not hungry,” Jay says as cheerfully as he can manage. It’s not gonna fool Carlos, but he’s not gonna show weakness in front of the royal rabble. “Anyway, we’re not going to the honor board. She’s willing to settle it with some sorta evaluation. Have you heard of dyslexia before?”
Carlos blinks. “Dyslexia? No. I mean. It’s gotta be dis from like, disinterested, disintegrating, some sort of anti? Or else it’s dys from like, dysentery. Some sort of illness, maybe. Lex has gotta be from lexicon, lexicography. Something to do with either anti-words or a words illness? Does she think you’re sick of words?”
Jay shrugs. “She said it’s why I’m bad at reading. Wants me to do an assessment so she can know what’s going on.”
Carlos already has his phone out. He’s typing with one hand, the other one curled around his plate in a defensive hunch that’s almost casual. “Huh. How’s that going for her so far?”
Jay snorts. “Fab. Nah, she didn’t do it yet. It’s a whole special test that she’s gotta send me down to the psych for.”
“Can you reject it?”
“If I wanna meet with the honor board and explain why I apparently have great handwriting, but only when they can’t see me do the assignments.”
“Fuck.”
“Yeah. At least she was cool about it.”
Carlos groans. “Your handwriting sucks, dude. You’re not sick of writing, you’re just— your handwriting sucks.”
“Yeah, and my fucking reading comprehension. I—“ Jay cuts himself off abruptly as the shadow of more people falls across their lunch table. “Hey, guys.”
Mal sets her lunch tray down on Jay’s left side, leaving Ben the spot on his right. Evie’s not eating with them today. They have other friends in theory, but between Doug’s science club buddies and Carlos’s general disinterest in socializing with other humans, they didn’t bother picking a table large enough for anyone else.
“Sorry,” Ben apologizes, even as he’s nudging his shoulder against Jay’s. It’s nice not being the only tall one sometimes. “I couldn’t help overhearing.”
Jay leans back into the contact. “We were talking out loud, dude. It happens. You got any hot tips for the stupid assessment I’ve gotta do later?”
“Have you tried being better?” Mal suggests. “I find that cheating works great. I could find you a spell to let one of us borrow your hands for a few hours, and so long as you can tell us what you want to write, we can control the muscles and get better handwriting than your usual chicken scratch special.”
“Hey.”
“Would that work if you can’t see the paper?” Ben asks curiously.
Mal frowns. “No. Not unless I modify the spell to possess your eyes too.”
Jay represses a shudder. “Thanks, but no thanks, M. I like my eyes in one piece.”
Carlos is scrolling rapidly on his phone, hanging half-over the table in an attempt to get closer to the three of them. “Dude, dyslexia is a brain thing that affects how you process visual input of words— aw, shit.”
Bad. That’s the bad-news tone. Jay’s heart drops traitorously into his stomach, which suddenly isn’t feeling the tater tots on his lunch tray. “What?”
Carlos shakes his head. “Nothing too bad. Just, I think Williams is right. You’ve said you’re shit at reading fast cause the words all look the same, right? Like, you can’t scan to identify them, you’ve gotta sound each one out.”
Jay smashes a tater tot with the side of his fork. The destruction doesn’t make his gut feel any better. It’s not that he’s mad, it’s just— he doesn’t want to do this. Analyzing his brain sucks. He did the whole week of required therapy that the student disciplinary council required after the stuff with Mal’s mom, and he’s so fucking done with Auradon grown-ups pretending to understand why his head’s fucked up. “Yeah, so?”
Carlos waves the phone at him. “So that’s what this is. You’ve got a brain disorder.”
“We can fix it, right?”
He wiggles a hand back and forth. “Ehh. Kinda. There’s techniques to make it easier, but it’s sorta like— your brain is wired for AC power input, and words are DC. It’s a misalignment. We can make an adaptor, but we can’t rip out your brain wiring.”
“I could,” Mal offers. “I love doing illegal magic.”

I got tagged by @secretariatess and @theworldoffandoming (thanks frens!), so hear I go. (starting a new post because both were long)

Happy STS!
What is your favourite genre to read? Is it the same as your favourite genre to write?
What subgenres within that genre are your favourite to read? Are they the same ones you like to write?
Hey Kate, happy STS!
I'm not very 'academically' knowledgeable about genres so I'm mostly going to throw words together and pretend they mean something. Hopefully it makes sense:
My favorite genre to read could best be described as noir-like. First person perspective, witty narrator giving their opinion on everything, and drenched in tropes (bonus points in the narrator is aware and using this to their advantage). Dresden Files is probably the most literal version of this, but Murderbot is my favorite version. Discworld books kind of follow this line of thinking where the narrator is aware and playing with tropes, but you know it's rarely first person.
Of course this influences what I write heavily. Smith of Masks is literally about a PI working odd jobs for his community; outside of that most of my POV characters tend to be sarcastic and genre fluent assholes.
Subgenres tho? idk if it counts but I'd have to name it 'Romantic Horror'. Something horrific and unsettling is happening, but it's described with love, lust, or poetry. Sure the bones are cracking, flesh is peeling, and the person is becoming a thing; but the narrator is describing it like a flower blooming. Love that shit. I, uh, of course write this too but I don't think it's part of any finished work that I've posted.

Guess whos back on the pmd rt brainrot!
Anyways ,you ever think about how Gardevoir tells the Hero that they chose to have their memories erased? 'cuz I sure do and I am unwell.
Okay, officially Hero suggested it as a sort of test because they didn't believe they could save the world but still.
you could definitely take that as Hero not believing that they are a good person.
sidenote: i always liked giving RT Hero anger issues from the sheer amount of bullshit they go through throughout the game, though feel free to ignore this since its more my own opinion then facts.
Calypso getting isekai’d into the PMD-verse: Hey can you also factory reset people’s trauma when they become Pokémon?
Gardevoir:
Calypso: Just. Asking for a friend.

What's your fav Hilda episode?
It’s GOTTA be The Forgotten Lake. It’s got adorable mother/daughter bonding, endless amounts of trauma, badass Johanna, BLOOD ⁉️
Pre-Season 3 though, I love The Tide Mice. It’s such a fun concept, it has a partial focus on Johanna, and we get to see David singing !!! The Troll Rock also holds a special place in my heart because it’s the first episode where we get to see Johanna interact with people other than Hilda and kind of see her personality outside of being a mother — it’s the episode where we learn her name !
