At the beginning of the year, I thought I'd make a couple of little rec posts with a quote from some of my favourite fics, you know, something easy. And easy it was: with so many gorgeous fics that are out there, it's been such an absolute joy to keep finding quotes to share that I ended up making one each week for the whole year. I got so many lovely messages and tags about them and I'm so happy that I helped people discover new things to read. So, here is a masterlist of all the 50 quotes that I shared this year. 🦇 By being with Lilia, this also means you're a mom now. He and Silver come as a package deal, no 'if', 'and', or 'but', about it. But seeing as you already have a motherly personality, meaning you vibe really well with Silver as well, everyone is happy

🦇 By extension, you also get Malleus. Sebek is still up in the air (he has no choice but to respect you, you're dating Lilia for crying out loud)

🦇 On the days where you are just too weak and spend the day sleeping, he is sure to do regular checkups on you. Most of the time, he will just carry you off to his room where you can sleep peacefully and comfortably. (He has experience with doing this to Silver on more than one occassion)

Terharu dan bersyukur banget sih ketemu orang-orang baik yang care untuk aku. Look, I had a healthy pour of wine and asked @cibeewastaken for a fic rec and damn. Just like, wow.

So, I have somehow conned Cibee into letting me read her fics first (I know, right) and right away, I got why she likes this so much.

The_Sinking_Ship and Cibee remind me so much of each other, while also being WILDLY different, it's astounding. This is like, one of those "If you like The Courting by the Pureblood Who Only Has Five Milligrams of Romantic Intelligence and Thinks He's Real Smooth, then you'll like this fic" feel.

Cause, holy hell, you're gonna enjoy Stupid Love. Like, a lot. A lot a lot.

This is all from Draco's POV and he's hilarious and snarky and gorgeously written. I could fall in love with him every day and I certainly see why Harry did. He's fickle and brilliant and living the life he thinks he should live instead of doing what actually will make him happy. And he (of course) hates one Harry James Potter. Like a rational person

Harry is gorgeous and magically powerful (yes, thank you) and basically so soft on Draco it made me remember what it felt like to fall in love with my spouse.

Also there's sex and good lord. Good lord.

So yes, basically if you want something that makes you believe in the good of the world read this. I'm not even kidding, it's so lovely and sweet and I loved it so much.

All the body hair talk really got to me so this came out. it’s really a lot more vanilla than I wanted it to be, and more about body worship than body hair, but to be fair I was writing it at work with everyone walking around so I didn’t include the parts I wanted (i.e. pubic hair, knuckle hair, armpit hair, the good stuff). “Come here,” Draco said.

Harry had just got out of the shower to find Draco lounging on the bed in his silk robe, head propped up and facing the bathroom—the very large, floor-to-ceiling glass bathroom. Harry’s face burned as he whirled back to Draco, now wearing a very smug smile. “Were you watching me shower?”

“It pleases me to see how thorough you were being,” Draco grinned. 

“Fuck off.” Harry’s face burned hotter. “I thought you were at a yoga class.”

“I had to leave early.” Draco waved his wand to open the windows. The ocean wind blew the gauzy white curtains up. The sun was just setting over the horizon. “To catch the boat back.”

“You’re the one that insisted on booking a villa in the middle of the ocean,” Harry pointed out. He was still a bit miffed at being seen showering, even if the two of them had gotten into a lot more debauchery on a daily basis. 

“So we won’t be disturbed,” Draco said, and patted the bed next to him. “Come here,” he said again.

The bed was so large Harry had to crawl to meet Draco in the middle. His fluffy bathrobe hung open as he did, and Draco’s eyes dropped to it, his breathing getting heavier. 

“You are insatiable,” Harry grumbled when Draco pushed him down and took a nipple into his mouth. 

“Oh, chin up, love,” Draco cooed. “You’re the one that said you’d make it up to me for missing Valentine’s Day. And what’s more romantic than a private water villa in the middle of the tropical ocean? We can see stars, darling.”

Harry looked to the open windows which led to the front deck that sat right above the fish-filled lagoon that surrounded their villa. Harry could jump into the clear waters from their master bedroom if he wanted. Harry hated to admit it—mostly because he had protested the idea of a lavish vacation at first—but it was pretty fucking romantic.

Draco looked as though he knew what Harry was thinking and smirked.

Harry dragged him up into a kiss. Draco’s moans gushed out of him, like he had been holding them in. He buried a hand in Harry’s hair and carded the other through Harry’s already sweat-damp chest hair, paying heady attention to the whorls of hair surrounding his nipples. Draco’s favorite, Harry knew that. 

Draco wrenched himself away and gasped for air. His cock was a hard length against Harry’s thigh, trembling and wet. “You said you’d make it up to me.”

“Yes,” Harry breathed.

“I want …”

“Yes.”

Draco moaned. “I want you to lie back and let me take care of you.”

Harry didn’t know how he was supposed to lie back when he was already a puddle on the bed. Draco nuzzled Harry’s beard, leaving wet little kisses along the trail, pushing Harry’s bathrobe off his shoulders and kissing them. Draco’s face was flushed red and his eyes were so bright.

“Let me kiss you as much as I want,” Draco said. “Harry, please, just this once. I know you don’t like the attention—but I could burst just thinking about it, and I think about it so much—Merlin, I won’t if you really don’t want to, but—”

Harry couldn’t speak. He arched his body and shrugged the bathrobe off and threw it somewhere behind Draco—somehow still landing on the ridiculously large bed—then lay back on the pillows and spread his legs.

Draco swallowed. The front of his robe was tented gorgeously, with a patch of wet spot that was spreading. It made Harry feel good.

The next second, Draco’s hands and lips and body were back on him, kissing every available patch of skin, freckles, scars and returning to kiss Harry’s mouth every few seconds. Draco’s hands caressing Harry’s chest hair, and carding through the thick curls loosely in a bun. His nails scraping against Harry’s inner thigh, across the coarse hair there. Draco let out a moan when their chests bumped into each other as Harry arched off the bed. 

“I hate how gorgeous you are, Potter,” Draco said. He called Harry that when his head was muddy with anger or lust. He nuzzled Harry’s beard, biting down, got back up to suck on Harry’s tongue when Harry gasped. Then Draco moved down to his chest, did the same nuzzle—shouldn’t it be disgusting? Harry thought wildly. Shouldn’t Draco, who always powdered his face and body because he hated sweating, find Harry gross? But Draco’s hips were making small, jerking movements against Harry’s thigh, and he certainly looked like he was enjoying himself very much. 

Draco yanked Harry down and around, tugging his hips up. Harry felt his cheeks being spread and had to hide his face in his arms as Draco thumbed at the wiry hair there, as Draco leaned down to gently bite Harry’s ass. As Draco took in a deep breath and asked, low and husky, “Jojoba oil?”

“It’s the lotion they have here,” Harry mumbled shyly. 

“God, it makes you glow,” Draco said into the gentle bites. He blew on Harry’s hole, and Harry twitched, moaning into his arms.

“I’m going to make out with your arse, Potter,” Draco said. 

“Shut up,” Harry said. “God—just—please—” Then he couldn’t talk for a long time. 

Later, however long later, when Harry was a shaking, wet mess of sweat, cum, and spit, with Draco’s head pillowed contently on his chest, his hands rubbing at the sweat-matted hair there, nosing it all the while, Harry asked, “Why did you have to wait until we’re here to…”

Draco opened one eye to peer up at him. “Indulge in my life-long fantasy?”

Harry felt his blush creeping back. “Life-long? We’ve been together for four years.”

Draco snorted. “I’m not telling you more.”

“Fine,” Harry huffed, letting his legs and arms spread out on the bed. Draco being half on top of him was hot enough even with night finally settling over them. Harry looked at the starry sky through their glass ceiling—Draco really knew how to woo a man. “Why now?”

Draco chuckled, “Our bed wasn’t big enough.”

hi hello so i was just rewatching knives out and i remembered there's a fic that reminds me of it so much and i'd like to rec it so everyone can go read it bc imo it deserves so much more hype. it's 'a little bird told me' by cibee from this year's cluefest and LORD is it a masterpiece. not gonna spoil anything but let me just say i'm usually pretty good at figuring out plot twists but when i tell you i did NOT RECOVER from this fic for a long time.... it's a murder mystery that would have agatha christie shaking in her boots tbh. i've only read it once but i think about it all the time it's ridiculously good pls pls i cannot rec this enough

If he makes this discovery, maybe the Magical British Museum will finally look at his application, and his annoying colleague will finally leave him alone. Draco tried not to pout. It was foolish of him to hope that Potter would show up. He came round the pub near Mungo’s to see Granger every so often, while she and Draco commiserated about difficult patients and life as a Healer Trainee. And sometimes he would join Luna when she and Draco met for their Sunday trips to the flea market, where she would buy some odd tapestry, Draco sorted through interesting baubles, and Potter just ate a kebab, rolling his eyes when Draco snapped at him about getting his greasy fingers on the batiks. They weren’t really friends, not like Draco was with Granger or Lovegood. But they could have a laugh, and sometimes Draco thought he felt Potter’s eyes linger on his face a little too long. And sometimes Draco wanted to touch him, even when he didn’t have a reason to.

But Potter was also ridiculously busy, always working late hours at the DMLE, catching dark wizards and being generally heroic, which was equal parts annoying and appealing, depending on how Draco looked at it. He tried not to let it bother him that Potter didn’t show up to his party, but it did. It really did.

1. Small kisses littered across the other’s face.

Fireplaces, Draco thinks, are the world’s greatest invention, right after skincare. They’re warm, light, and crackle pleasantly, and they provide a priceless sense of aesthetic (something any proper Malfoy can appreciate). Most importantly, however, fireplaces are the perfect spot to congregate around. At a fireplace one can roast marshmallows, or drink hot chocolate, or verbally decimate a known enemy, or all three at once! They come in all shapes and sizes, all colors and materials and locations. It’s a brilliant household necessity— Draco’s already resolved to have one installed in every room of the Manor. He’s never heard someone complain over the existence of a fireplace. 

Which is why he’s delighted to find out that the Eighth Year Common Room has an absolute beast of a hearth. The mantle is at eye level, nearly Flooing size, and decorated with bronze knobs to hang stockings and greenery and baubles on. Laying on the couch as he is, he can still feel the warmth of the flames all along his left side, and the wood pops and sparks every few moments, sending up a shower of glowing ash. 

“My legs are hot,” Harry complains. He’s running his fingers obediently through Draco’s hair, a hand splayed on his chest. Draco wiggles a bit, settling his head more comfortably in Harry’s lap, and says nothing. He pointedly flips the page of his book.

“Draco,” Harry says again. Pulls on his hair lightly, then smooths it away from his forehead. “Aren’t you toasty? You’re wearing wool.”

He is, but the steady carding of Harry’s strong hand through his hair is worth every moment. Draco can barely keep his eyes open. The words are blurring in front of him.

“Draco,” Harry repeats once more, and Draco’s about to finally reply when Harry leans  down and presses a firm kiss to his forehead. He’s shocked still. 

A few seconds go by, and then the bastard has the audacity to do it again! He touches his lips right between Draco’s brows, and stays there until Draco feels the small puff of his breath against his temple. The spot tingles when Harry pulls away. Draco’s breath quickens.

“Potter?” he says sharply. “What in Merlin’s name are you doing?”

Harry chuckles before bussing Draco smartly on the nose. Draco opens his mouth as if to argue with him, but Harry takes the chance to nip his bottom lip. Kiss the top one. The corners of his frowning mouth. Then he slips his tongue between Draco’s lips to flick it against the roof of his mouth and Draco shudders from head to toe.

By the time Draco gathers himself enough to kiss his boyfriend back, he’s already moved back to his nose.

“Potter!” Draco manages to hiss. “What are you doing?”

“What does it look like?” Harry murmurs. 

Draco resigns himself to this strange treatment. Harry’s hand is still threaded firmly in his hair, so he sighs and lets him feather kisses across his cheek and down to his jaw. From there Harry drags his lips to Draco’s chin, achingly slow. Draco shivers.

A kiss lands on his right eyelid, soft and burning, and Draco’s heart nearly beats out of his chest. He’s dimly aware of reaching up to hold on to Harry’s hand. His breath seems to be caught in his chest.

The warmth of Harry’s face suddenly disappears. Draco cracks an eye open— when did he close them?— to glare at him.

“Potter!” he snaps this time.

“Yes, baby?” Harry says. Draco wants to pinch him. Harry knows he hates pet names. Heaven forbid Harry gets it in his head to call him something sweet and mushy like darling, or lover, or my heart. Draco would melt through the cushions (of mortification, obviously).

Draco frowns. “What are you doing?”

“You’ve asked that several times now. Nothing, at the moment.”

“Exactly,” Draco says. Harry raises an eyebrow at him. Draco pouts. “Don’t you have a task to focus on?”

“A task?” He lifts his hand to run a finger across Draco’s cheek and trace his lips. He leaves it resting there when Draco speaks.

“You were on a mission. I’d hate to interrupt you, is all.”

“I’m sure I don’t know what you mean.”

Draco bites him.

“Feisty,” Harry says, but leans down to kiss Draco anyway.

They stay that way until the fire burns down to glowing coal. The book falls to the ground at some point, but Draco’s too caught up in the brush of lips against his skin to care.
