"Does this taste okay?"

Anton looks up from the bowl of ice cream he was holding to see you stretching a spoon of chocolate sauce towards him.

"It tastes kinda weird," you mumble, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "But it's not expired yet."

Anton licks the sauce off the spoon, concentrating on its flavor.

"Okay, that's definitely weird." he agrees, wincing as he's met with a gross combination of sour and sweet. "We are not going to eat that."

Laughing at your boyfriend's reaction, you turn away to toss the bottle into the bin.

"Here, eat some ice cream." Anton suggests, getting a spoonful for you. "It takes the taste right out."

You hum happily around the spoon at the taste of the sweet icy treat, excited to eat more during your movie night later.

"I'm so glad we got vanilla flavor," you sighed. "It's so go-"

And all of a sudden, Anton's lips are on yours, cutting you off.

His warm tongue moves and licks against your cold lips, sending goosebumps all over your body at the sensation.

"Y-You had ice cream on your lips." Anton mumbles when he pulls away, face burning red.

You're blushing too, but you laugh, finding it adorable.

"Maybe just say you wanna kiss me next time, hm?" you tease, wrapping your arms around Anton's neck.

The ice cream is long forgotten when the both of you lock lips again, Anton's arms tight around your waist as he slowly backs you against the kitchen counter.

"You look so pretty today," he sighs, brushing your hair aside and leaning down to kiss your neck.

It blows your mind at how when you first met Anton, he had been a blushing stumbling mess. Always avoiding your eye contact, stuttering endlessly, and always turning crimson red at any form of physical contact.

But now here you were, eyelids fluttering shut in pleasure while his teeth grazes softly against your neck. He doesn't stop even while leading you to the sofa, letting out a soft grunt when you straddle him.

Now, with the both of you heading into the eighth month of your relationship, you've achieved your fair share of milestones.

Starting off with the basics like holding hands and cuddling, you were now at the stage of hot and heavy makeouts, but nothing past that.

And since neither of you had any experience, both of you agreed to take things slow.

"When we're both ready," Anton had said back then to you, lips prettily swollen and panting from your first makeout session.

You wonder where he stands on the matter now, when something snaps you out of your thoughts.

Anton had stopped his actions, his flushed and shy face buried in your chest instead. "W-What's wrong?" you ask, dazed and confused as you run your hands through his hair.

He doesn't say anything, merely shifting around a bit to let you feel it.

You gulp when you do, eyes widening at your boyfriend.

"Is that- Are you...?" you mumbled, flustered.

He burns in embarrassment as he nods, nervously biting his bottom lip. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean for it to... do that, you just look so pretty today and you sounded so-"

It's your turn to cut him off for tonight, kissing him strongly on the lips.

"Don't apologize, it happens." you whisper.

"And... I can help you out if you want?" you offer, looking at him warily.

Anton's eyes widen at your question, and he manages to muster a small "Y-Yeah, please.", desperation heavy in his tone.

He's barely gotten the words out of his lips when you kiss him again, hips experimentally moving against his.

The curly haired boy lets out a loud whine at this, head falling back on the sofa, and you've gotten your green light.

Airy whimpers and moans slowly fill your living room as you continue, the pleasurable friction making Anton's head spin while you kiss each other messily and noisily.

Adrenaline courses through you while his hands feel you up, newfound pleasure burning like fire at wherever his fingertips touched.

"F-Feels so good," Anton pants, hiding his face in the crook of your neck.

He starts leaving hickeys again, the sharpness of his teeth and warmth of his tongue adding on to the pleasure. "Don't stop, please." he whines.

And so, you don't.

The movie becomes the last thing on your minds as you spend the rest of the night just like that; lips connected, hands exploring each other, repeated confessions of love, and hearts racing - closer than ever.

the call connects just after two rings, a sharp crackle of static before you're met with the sound of his soft breathing, loud against the quiet of his surroundings. 

"hey," you whisper, breathlessly. you didn't expect him to even pick up, considering how busy he was after shows. there was every chance he was still at the venue, high off the adrenaline that performing always gave him, or that he was at another one of his after-show parties, feeding off the adoration and desire that always surrounded him in a haze. 

"hey." you can't tell if he's mocking you, his voice equally breathy. "miss me?"

"yeah." you nibble on your lip, unsure what to say now that he was actually listening. shuffling back onto the pillows laid out on your bed, you sigh. "i'm sorry i couldn't make it to your show." it was the band's first trip to play a few gigs in another city close by, and although you wanted to follow, you just couldn't make the time for it. 

the boys, of course, had been endlessly excited – a new city, a new crowd…and of course a whole new slew of girls to show up to their parties. 

"it's fine," he murmurs, lightly. "i'll be back soon, anyway." 

you hear him shift around, and once again you're reminded of how surprising it is that he's picked up. "are you on the way to the party now?" 

"i'm not going to the party tonight, baby." the term of endearment snags your breath, a warmth spreading sweet and slow inside your body. "'m just staying in the hotel." 

"really?" you blurt out, hating the way your voice betrays the spark of hope that flickers in your chest. 

he laughs, and you can hear the smile in it. "it's good that you called," he says, quietly. there's a pause, as you try to figure out how to interpret his words. 

"not going to ask why, baby?" 

"why?" you ask, weakly. 

"because i've been thinking of you all day." you hear the clink of a wine glass being set down on a table, and then the rustle of sheets. "listened to that voice memo you sent me a week ago after the show…got me so fucking hard i couldn't even show up to the party, baby."

you inhale sharply, thighs pressing instinctively together. "haechan…" you murmur, fear prickling at your skin even though you know no one's listening. 

"it got so much worse after i drank," he breathes. "'m so sensitive right now…we've never fucked while drunk right?" 

"haechan," you plead, unsure if you want him to stop or continue. 

"what's wrong?"

"we're…we're on the phone." 

"so?" and now there's a thud, and you're sure he's dropped his phone next to him . you can hear the clink of his belt being unbuckled, the heavy slide of it as he tosses it somewhere off the bed. a rustle of fabric, and then a low groan sounding out, the sound shooting straight to your core. 

"haechan!" 

"fuck…baby," he pants. "keep saying my name like that." 

"hae–" you cut yourself off, biting your lip. fuck.

there's a short pause, your ears filled with the sound of his breathing, as if his body were caging yours in. the memory of it so vivid that you can't help but trail your hands down to the waistband of your shorts, something about the sultry way his voice played in your ears without him actually being there, the ghost of his touch still lingering in the corners of your body –

"- i can hang up, if i'm making you uncomfortable." there's a nervous stutter to his voice, which has lost all cadences of lust. "i'm sorry. i'll see you when i get back, –" 

"don't." you don't bother to hide the neediness in your voice, too stung by the idea of him hanging up, of him leaving you to fester in this unbearable heat. "please stay." 

you hear him inhale. "would it help if we switched to video call?" 

you feel lightheaded, mouth moving without sound. 

"baby," he presses. "you have to tell me if i'm making you feel uncomfortable, okay?" 

"let's not…let's not switch to video call," you swallow. "yet." 

"whatever you want," he agrees, softly. "are you on your bed, sweetheart?"

he would ask you how much you love him just hear you go on and on and on about how you’d give him the world and fight every higher up for him to get the rest he deserves.

he would ask you the most outlandish and insane questions just to hear what the hell you have to say, knowing that if you we’re completely lucid you wouldn’t even entertain the thought.

“-but yeah that’s why i think i was a mouse in my past life” you mumble, “are the walls moving for you too by the way?”

he’d spoon feed you and get you all the snacks you want (that you can actually eat) and cuddling you endlessly. he would just carry you around the entire house because he doesn’t want you to waste your energy.

he’s very unserious but he would be the best to take care of u, making sure you take ur medicine down to the minute and make sure you get enough rest <3

1) reason number 1 goes to the number 1 boy. him.

i love him so much <3 in the manga he's hilarious as always but also goes thru a lot of great character development that the anime only covers a fraction of!! but really all the characters in oofuri are endlessly endearing and interesting...it's so fun to read about their lives! i especially like when silly convos are had between them in the background that give us more insight on everyone's families, favorite things, hobbies, etc... the small things really matter in oofuri and it shows. everyone and everything has its place in the world... there is a great sense of interconnectedness that feels so natural in the story and makes it a joy to read. the mangaka shines showing us the magic in mediocrity; in little everyday things and routines. it's so touching... the world is full of so much life and laughter i love it so much!!!! (live laugh love oofuri)

in general i just love how kind oofuri is to its characters... ofc there's drama every now and then and i eat that up too BUT ☝️ i love how the narrative encourages understanding, communication, open mindedness, perseverance, a positive mindset... everyone has their struggles and goals throughout the plot, but no one is told they don't belong, or that they can't rise up to the occasion and go after what they really want. it creates really interesting scenarios too where you sometimes get a look into someone's innermost dreams/insecurities/fears and it's so relatable and sweet and human much of the time. it all ties back to how well the development of these characters is handled. it's just peak writing... oofuri makes u feel like it's all possible as long as u keep going. it's just so sincere i love it......

2) and the matches are so fun!!!!! once you learn a bit of the terminology they're pretty easy to follow too! a lot of the greatest moments in the series happen during matches. you get to see so many characters shine or make fools of themselves <- also good i laugh a lot. higuchi-sensei knows her stuff and creates such thrilling situations that have me losing my mind sometimes and whether my favs win or lose i'm always excited to see what comes next bc they always take it and DO something with it. nothing ever feels stale to me about their club trainings or school studies either... bc the characters are so interesting everything they do is a joy to read!!!

3) and ofc the art is so cute and scrunkly and has been a huge inspiration to me over the years!! she's great at capturing emotion on people's faces and i've always wanted to emulate that... also love when she draws them itty bitty or all just hanging out together it's the cutest thing eveeeeer 😭
