To start off, I just wanna say that Fae (acuar-io) has some absolutely STUNNING sims, it's hard to exactly word it, but their sims are SUPER recognizable, and their saves (Snow flower, Cozy save, etc) are SO nicely edited, so aesthetically pleasing to the eyes 🫶😩

@oshinsimblr is the reason why I started storytelling (even before my simblr time) and why I try and find a story-related reason on why my sims/characters do certain things, her videos are also SO comforting and i love her lovesick series!!! and of course, @minimooberry the whole inspo for this simblr and why I render in blender!

@mattodore and @cinamun are AMAZING simblrs if u want rich storytelling and/or well-thought out characters, River has inspired me to really tear into my characters and give them more personality, and cina just genuinely makes such realistic characters and the tea is ALWAYS hot and simblr aside, she has very good takes >:P

@groovetrys and @circusjuney have been around on my blog and as my mutuals for a LONG time and they really are some of my biggest hype people, lori has an AMAZING legacy going on with her sim, Melody, and u should DEF check it out, and june makes the most amazing clown sims 🥹 theyre always so pretty and STUNNINGGGG

@buttertrait @missatan @virtualfolk @pearlean @claudtrait all have BEAUTIFUL sim styles, butter's is very unique, i know they arent really a sims 4 blog anymore but i ALWAYS recognize butter's sims when i see them on my dash and I genuinely love their sim style sm. Nat (Missatan) has SUCH a gorgeous sim style, you've heard of them hips dont lie, well her sims' lips dont lie 😩🫦 Virt (Virtualfolk) and Sam's (pearlean) sim styles are SO animated (if that makes sense), they're like eye-candy. Den (claudtrait), like Nat, has a sim style with the most luscious lips and poutiest faces ive ever seen and are just SOO pleasing to look at, like i just feel blessed in the eyes when i see their sims

@yukikocloud 's Apricot save and storytelling is incredibly reminiscent of Bree's posts, and I just LOVE looking at and reading her story posts, this post in particular just absolutely captivated me, I was drawn in and just get so giddy seeing the Apricot save pop up on my dash 🥹

@alientown @venriliz @nefarrilou @druidberries @machinegrl make STUNNINGGGGG occult (or cyber/robotic in Baja/Machinegrl's instance) sims. Nef always makes beautiful sims for their Cryptid "series", im just in AWE when i see their cryptids... Ven and Ana (alientown) both always make absolutely gorgeous alien sims and they also just have very unique/beautiful sim styles 😍 Baja's cyber girlies are just >>>>>>>>>>>>> I love her whole dystopian/cyber theme, its literally so good and so cool, and her Deadstars series? SO good. Alexis' (druidberries) elowen is so pretty, and her sim style, especially with occults, is just MWAH chefs kiss, literal eye candy

@swallowprettybird is just one of the sweetest people on simblr, I love reading what she has to say about mine and others' posts, and she makes amazingggg posts, I loved that one national geographic inspired post with the zebra, it was so well done

@softle0 makes some absolutely stunning builds, they always look so lived in, so cozy and I would ABSOLUTELY live in pretty much every single build they make

I have been perusing your posts and love your Rollisi fics- they make me cry every single time. Admittedly, that isn’t hard to do, but they are so beautifully written and capture a wonderful relationship/fantastic parents absolutely immaculately.

You’ve made me want to watch the show, even without Stabler, as it sounds like Carisi is going to fill that hole very easily and maybe even have more of my heart than Stabler did, as he has a more attractive personality/better qualities than Stabler. Why did I do that. Damnit, I should've known that reading that chapter would have re-activated my need for more. I was way better off ignoring anything related to Yohaji and just went about my day, not thinking about Yohaji every minute of the hour of the day of the week. But the damage has been done. Now I have to read the whole manga all over again just to satisfy myself once again. But no. That's not enough. I searched every corner to hunt every single content of Yohaji. Tumblr. Twitter. Youtube. Tiktok. Ao3. Our lord and savior Canada's account. The giver of reason in life, one who resurrects the dead, the sailor uniform to my life, Tanamai-sensei's account. I know that the Yohaji content in this world is not enough and will NEVER be. The moment I discovered this manga, I knew that it would be my life. The fact that it had only reached me last year, ber month is unforgivable. Why did it not have content as many as the amount of numbers there are to exist so that it could reach me at the start of it's existence? It should have been Yohaji. Not BNHA! Nothing against that anime by the way. Well, I am grateful that I stumbled upon Yohaji while it had 100+ chapters though. And the fandom being small enough to only have nice and cool people in it. But those fics in ao3 though? Why- I mean, I don't really care or pay attention to them but the fact that the amount of nsfw fanfics is probably (I'm saying probably because they might just be more) equal to the amount of sfw fanfics in there is- I swear, WHY ARE THERE SO LITTLE FANFICS OF YOHAJI?! 3 PAGES?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? There might be more in other places but I only read in ao3 and Tumblr if I find some there. I'm so thankful for the translators though!!! I love y'all. I love the fandom. i just finished reading chapter 50 of jtta and oh my gosh. i don’t even know where to start.

jtta is SUCH an amazing work of art that my words fall short.. it’s rlly the best fanfiction i have EVER read and i’m sure it’ll continue to be my Number One forever. your writing style is absolutely beautiful and your choice of words is IMMACULATE. the way you describe certain scenes truly baffles me everytime like,, there’s people out there who are really able to write like this?? they can magically plant a mental imagine w colors and all in my head from??? Words only??? u r so amazing omf

i also have to say that ur work has rlly helped me with expanding my own vocabulary — i had to look up a A LOT of words (though i’m sure i forgot them all by now..) but it was always so fun to learn new stuff!

Thank you much for your kind words! I'm so glad you enjoy my photography! I doubt I can pick one best photograph, but I'm happy to talk about a few of my favorites, and I'll say a few words about "natural talent" at the end.

To me photography is so great because it gets me out into the world doing cool things. It gets me to explore places that I wouldn't have otherwise and gives me awesome insight into the world. That's more important than any photo I've taken.

Waiting

Okay first favorite photo is this shot at Dulles Airport. This was taken right after the Dulles Metro station opened in late 2022. I think this was the first time I really nailed the alien blue/green night time look. I've used it a bunch since.

The photo perfectly captures the distant, disconnected feel I often try to capture in my photography. In this case, the photo was taken from a parking garage next to the metro station with a long lens. Love it.

Forest in the Tidal Basin

Next up is this landscape taken at The Tidal Basin on a foggy night. So many things I love about this photo, first just being the experience of capturing it. I love foggy nights and this one was perfect. Thick fog all night, not too chilly.

In many ways this photo is an anomaly. It's a pure landscape which is reasonably rare for me to shoot living in DC, and it's a woodland shot which I've never really understood and generally do not like. I used a tripod for this shot, which is fairly rare for me. Yet it has a lot of elements that are familiar in my photography. Long lens, devoid of people, night shot, and a bit spooky.

As soon as I took this shot I knew it was gonna be good, and I was flabbergasted that this was first truly great shot for 2023.

Castle and The Sunset

Third we've got this panorama taken on Whiteface Mountain in The Adirondacks, above Lake Placid. This photo also comes with a cool story. @lesbianredpanda and I were headed down Whiteface Mountain as the place was closing.

We got caught up in this gorgeous sunset. We took our all of our cameras and started shooting. A truck full of employees pulled up behind and told us the place was closing & they were gonna shut the gates when they got to the bottom & we'd have to call the State Police to get out.

We packed up and Avery sped us down the mountain, burning brake smell the whole way. I was scaring her by taking pics out the window. Awesome time. Terrifying.

Technically, I did everything wrong in this shot. I took this HDR panorama that consists of 40 photos, shot handheld with a 28mm lens wide open at f/1.4. It shouldn't have worked out but it did!

What's in the Dark?

Last shot is my most popular photo here on Tumblr. It also should not have worked! An 8 minute exposure into darkness in the middle of the night near Lake Placid in The Adirondacks. The vibes are immaculate.

This photo has inspired me to keep trying weird stuff to see if it works. Usually it doesn't. I don't think I've ever really replicated the feeling of this shot since. Doesn't matter tho, it's cool & has inspired so much.

Those are my favorite! There's so many important photos to me, it's hard to choose a few.

Natural Talent

Okay, so I do have a bone to pick with the concept of natural talent. I doubt it really exists. For me specifically though, I don't think I'm naturally talented in photography.

I've tried to get into photography several times, and failed many times! Heck, I didn't even think to get a camera until I had been hiking around NY for a year. When I finally did get a camera I didn't like it and quit photography soon after.

There is no natural talent here. Instead, there's years of trying, failure, and, most importantly, a ton of time spent learning and going out taking photos. Then repeat the process to learn how to edit photos.

I would much rather have this time I've invested in photography be recognized, as I think it's what has made me any good at this stuff. Not inherent ability.

I like games a ton, I'm taking a college course on marketing and advertising, enjoy art and animation (although I don't do either), and I'm using this blog to vent thoughts I would rather keep off of my other social medias (mainly because Tumblr is pretty dead and doesn't algorithm what you say into stranger's faces as much)

If you want to know some of my favourite games;

Plants vs Zombies. I'm obsessed with this whole franchise and have played basically anything they've released internationally. I mainly play PvZ Heroes, which is a game I DO NOT recommend playing at this moment (or any moment, really? Unless you're willing to do morally grey things [I.e. hacking in resources, which takes a 10 minute YouTube tutorial to complete]) due to an ongoing and likely unending hacking crisis. It's also really hard to get into unless you have someone explaining everything to you, mainly because the base game does nothing to teach new players anything beyond some of the basic game mechanics and arguably does more to feed new players misinformation. There's also a lot of bugs, balancing issues, a severe lack of features (including there being no report button), and lots of other issues. Regardless, I have a lot of fun with this game and it has a iron grip on me

Skullgirls, which isn't a game I suck at and don't actually play often, but have put dozens of hours into regardless. The art style is what initially hooked me in, as well as its mostly-female cast and the intriguing story. What got me to stay was the amazing gameplay, one of the best tutorials I've played for a fighting game (although it's also quite flawed nowadays due to its difficulty at some points), and a very in-depth training mode. Favourite characters are Filia (I love playing as her and she has a neat design), Peacock (not as fun to play, but still very fun and her design absolutely rocks), and Painwheel (she's too hard for me to play, but is otherwise my #1 favourite character thanks to her design and story alone)

Rayman Legends, which is probably weird to have for a favourite game, but is one of the best platformers I've played and overall a very fun and replayable game. Other games like Celeste, Cuphead, and Super Meat Boy (the third of which I still need to play 😭) are probably better, especially in the case of Celeste having a very good story. I think what Rayman brings to the table is its triple A quality, having a ton of polish, lots of levels, plenty of game modes, and overall does a lot of things games with a smaller budget couldn't imagine doing without spending over a decade of time

Slay the Spire and Dicey Dungeons, which are both really great dungeon-crawler deck-building rougelites (StS is technically a rouge-like, but it takes such little time to unlock stuff and what you do unlock are cards and relics; not things like permanent stat buffs that simply make your next run stronger). Slay the Spire is pretty much the grandfather of deck builder rougelites, but has aged immaculately despite that title. Meanwhile, Dicey Dungeons plays with the formula by having you roll dice instead of drawing cards, and those dice are used to activate your cards like mana would. Dicey Dungeons is a much simpler experience than Slay the Spire, but I wouldn't say it's better for that and Slay the Spire is a more worthwhile experience

Some other games I think are cool are;

Drone Head, which I've been playing a lot of as of recently. It's an arcade platformer made for a game jam about a small robot jumping everywhere to collect weapon cubes, which change the weapon of your attack mode. Tetris, which is maybe the only game on this list that you recognize besides Plants vs Zombies (or you live under a rock). While I wouldn't say I'm good at the game, I've noticed that the average person isn't close to my skill level, so saying I'm bad at the game would also be a lie. I typically just play Jstris's practice mode, but I've also done 1v1s on Tetris Effect and played the battle royal modes of Tetris 99 and Tetr.io (which kicked my ass)

Peggle, which I feel like people don't talk about. It's a crime considering both Peggle games are fun and well-made games. Peggle 1 is a masterpiece and ironically has much more content, while Peggle 2 has its own unique charms and, in my opinion, a more fun PvP mode. I also regularly listen to Peggle 2's soundtrack, with some of my favourites being Jimmy's theme, Bjorn's scntfc remix, and the pvp lobby music titled "Eau de Bjorn". Most fascinating part of the soundtrack is that each character's theme is a classical piece remixed to be a soundtrack that transforms as the level progresses, which is really cool and makes the game stand out a lot more. Peggle Blast was a mistake

Toontown Corporate Clash, which I admittedly haven't touched in months, but is still a game I would recommend people play. If you don't know, Toontown Online was a game released by Disney way back in 2003 and was promptly shut down 10 years after. However, fans of the game would begin to create private servers of the game modded to their preferences, and one of them happens to be Corporate Clash: A heavy rework to the game's combat and progression. It's so good that playing solo is quite rewarding, but like any MMO, is more fun with friends (which I lack 🙃)

I'll continue updating and adding to this post over time, but those are a lot of the games that have my attention rn

A karaਕੜਾکڑا कड़ा KADA, is a steel or iron (sarb loh)Bracelet, worn by all initiated Sikhs. It is one of the five kakars or 5Ks —external articles of faith — that identify a Sikh as dedicated to their religious order. The kara was instituted by the tenth Sikh Guru Gobind singh at the Baisakhi Amrit Sanskarn in 1699. Guru Gobind Singh Ji explained:

He does not recognise anyone else except me, not even the bestowal of charities, performance of merciful acts, austerities and restraint on pilgrim-stations; the perfect light of the Lord illuminates his heart, then consider him as the immaculate Khalsa.

The kara is to constantly remind the Sikh disciple to do God's work, a constant reminder of the Sikh's mission on this earth and that he or she must carry out righteous and true deeds and actions, keeping with the advice given by the Guru. The Kara is a symbol of unbreakable attachment and commitment to God. It is in the shape of a circle which has no beginning and no end, like the eternal nature of God.It is also a symbol of the Sikh brotherhood. As the Sikhs' holy text, the GuruGranth Sahib Ji says, "In the tenth month, you were made into a human being, O my merchant friend, and you were given your allotted time to perform good deeds." Similarly, Bhagat Kabir reminds the Sikh to always keep one's consciousness with God: "With your hands and feet, do all your work, but let your consciousness remain with the Immaculate Lord."

The basic kara is a simple unadorned steel bracelet, but other forms exist. It was historically used like a Knuckle-duster for hand-to-hand combat. Battlefield variations include kara with spikes or sharp edges. Sikh soldiers of theBritish Indian army would settle disputes by competing in a form of boxing known as loh-musti (lit. iron fist) with a kara on one hand.

As for looks, I’m 5’1, average build, tanned olive type skin, dark brown eyes, full lips, dark brown shoulder length wavy/kinda curly hair with curtain bangs. I also wear glasses with a slight cat eye to them.

4. Personality:

For personality I’m creative, introverted, and individualistic. Though I’m introverted, around my friends I can be quite talkative, humorous and outgoing. However I definitely treasure my alone time the most.

5. Hobbies/Interests:

As for hobbies escaping to new worlds while reading books/comics, watching movies, and playing rpg video games. My favorite genres are fantasy and sci-fi, though I do love a good classic from time to time. Apart from that, I love working out.

You get a bit bashful because it's just a rough sketch and the dimensions are all off and tbh it was really just a warmup but Rey falls in love with it and it warms your heart so much you give it to her. She scrimps and saves money to get it properly matted and framed and she just adores it. Also, pls get this girl some healthy emotional relationships she would just flourish on Naboo. The water!! The greenery!! It's warm enough for you both but it's not a desert! HUGE plus. The war ends and Rey just wants to come home with you, to a peaceful place where she doesn't feel weighed down by her past and her powers and her responsibility. She wants a place where her friends came come and go and enjoy being there. She loves that her friends can become your friends. But the both of you also get overwhelmed with too much social interaction, and quiet nights in together, ones where Rey sits and tinkers with some mechanical bits and bobs. Ones where you've ordered takeout and you're sitting working on a new piece of art or reading Space-Dracula with Space-Ella Fitzgerald playing quietly in the background. Peaceful nights. A peaceful life. It's everything Rey didn't realize she wanted until you came along.

I came this 🤏 close to putting Sabine Wren down as your ship request, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought you two would be better suited as besties. (Also I hope you're okay with me putting down a Rebels character 😊). You two would bond so easily over art. Sabine is also well-known for her individuality, creativity, independence, and introversion. Sure, she loves being with her friends and family, but sometimes Sabine just needs some goddamn alone time. And you just have to do, "same lol." I think Sabine and you would also love meeting up at your favorite (space) Thai joints cause you two can handle spice and no one else on the Ghost Crew can lol. You and Sabine would also love working out together, giving each other shit for being out of shape lol, griping and being dramatic about how tired you are.

You could hear the gentle hiss of Sabine's paint gun somewhere around the corner from you. You wondered if she was leaving behind her trademark starbird or if she was leaving something a little more detailed. The longer the paint gun went, you knew she was painting something a bit bigger than her signature symbol. Your own piece was coming along nicely. A smirk curled at your lips as the details and colors came together, a mural of pure beauty materializing and giving the drab slate durasteel wall a bit more character. Your didn't use a paint gun yourself, only for linework. You preferred a classic brush to blend and apply the colors of your work. Even if it took a bit longer. You weren't worried. You and Sabine had yet to be caught. A few more flicks of your brush brought the piece together. And with a quick arc of some black paint with your gun, the piece was done. "Nice." Sabine had finished her own work and was now sniggering at your mural. You smirked over your shoulder at her. Your mural was a wonderful rendition of one Grand Admiral Thrawn being strangled by that chimaera he seemed so fond of. You were quite proud of it. "Thanks." You slapped up a stencil and sprayed with your gun, leaving your own symbol to sign your work. "What's yours?" Sabine's was as comical and poignant as your own. I’m Min! I’m an animator and storyboard  rti t who also posts comics and fan art online. So far, I have worked on the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and LEGO Monkie Kid. I run on AAA batteries.

How did you get your start in animation and storyboarding?

Fanart! My hyperfixations kept me drawing and posting online since I was around 16. Later I dropped my Computer Science degree to study animation. After graduating, I worked as an In-between Animator, Key Animator, and Storyboard Artist. My fanart of a couple funny skeletons played a big role in getting hired.

What do you wish you knew when you first started out creating content that you know now?

It’s ok to make mistakes. All the flaws in a drawing make it look much more interesting. Also, it’s a lot more fun than spending ages perfecting one line.

Have you ever had an art block? If so, how did you overcome it?

I always get 3 different flavors of art block (that I remember):

Sometimes there’s this self-enforced pressure that what you make has to be of a certain standard. Gotta loosen up and forgive yourself for not meeting an imaginary quality. Do it for the fun of it. Instead of thinking’ needs to be better,’ think ‘eh good enough lol.’ It’s cool to strive for improvement! Just don’t do it to the point it becomes self-deprecating.

Art block from burnout

Art hibernation! It’s ok to take breaks. Not every waking moment needs to be productive. Treat yourself to something yummy, hang out with people you’re comfortable with, or pick up a new anime series. Take the time to get some well-deserved rest.

Art block while drawing as a full-time job

WELL DANG.

Switch your ‘drive.’ If you’re running off on passion or interest as a motivator for work, that’s great! I do too! But also, it’s finicky. Set up routines for when that high runs out. I have a ‘Do task’ mode where I play a song or a movie I already watched on loop in the background (sometimes for weeks on end). I don’t know why but it helps me concentrate. Last week, it was the movie Cars.

These are personal methods and may not work for everyone, but I hope it helps!

What are 3 things you can’t live without as a creator?

What is a medium that you have always been intrigued by but would never use yourself?

Does blacksmithing count as a medium? I’d like to try it out at least once, though.

How do you want to evolve as a creator?

To connect with other creators more. Especially writers. They are so powerful.

Cool tones! Especially this one particular blend of blue and green.

Who on Tumblr inspires you and why?

So maaaanyy. At the top of my head, though: @northpen​. I am obsessed with their vivid-imagery writing style, and immaculate characterizations. Their character banters always have me in a gigglefit. They have this fic I binged in one sitting and left me crying and empty in a good way.
