#toy txt post#while i was away i began my journey into coffee snobbery. im doing my best. i have a lot to learn#i have a fancy hand grinder that all the ppl on reddit hemmedvand hawed andaid it would probably be somewhat#Acceptable for pour over coffee that I got for less than $100. i want you to understand the coffee grinder ppl are insane.#there are grinders for sale that cost like more than my car did brand new. these ppl are insane? i got a chemex pour over#and a glass stovetop gooseneck kettle cos i couldnt find an electric kettle that didnt have the metal touching the water. prolly cos it#would make them less energy efficient and defeat the purpose but i dont fuck w metal water vessels cos historically They Keep Betraying Me#by making my drinks taste like ass. i got some genetic fuckery going on ig. like the cilantro soap gene but its the metal makes water taste#like ass gene? idk. but i wanted a kettle that didnt have metal and i wanted that gooseneck pour so i found one on Amazon. surprisingly#hard to find? annoying. mostly bc every search engine is bad and kept showing me metal kettles anyway. i got a grinder i got a pour over i#got a kettle i got fancy beans from a local small business i started drinking it black. im going to unlock these flavors. i will get it#but also. im still a goblin. i put garlic powder in with the grounds and made garlic coffee. its interesting. it tastes like garlic. and#coffee. but actually the garlic is mostly an aftertaste?#so it feels very similar to drinking a cup of black coffee to accompany your garlic bread actually. the first time i made it i think it#underextracted the coffee tho. second time i extracted the coffee enough but i didnt like it as much? both times. fascinatingly#i did not get strong aromas! which was weird: i find both garlic and coffee have pretty strong scents already#i wouldve thought combining them would make it stronger? it was a little stronger while brewing the second time but smelled good to me#i find the flavor of it compelling enough that id like to try to refine it a bit more and see if i can make it good#ive come a long way since my first garlic coffee haha#(adding garlic salt to black coffee out of a keurig. dont reccomend this: garlic salt has too much salt and it overpowers everything.#could not get a garlic flavor without overpowering salt flavors. so it mostly tasted like seawater with a hint of coffee. garlic powder is#the way to go. anyway next i want to try it with a lighter roast. i was using medium roast#of a local brand that i would name for exposure but wont name lest it doxxes me haha#also want to try egg coffee sometimes? the vietnamese one. looks..intriguing. robusta beans scare me a little tho#anyway. if youre interested in interesting flavors i recc garlic coffee. it was intriguing. if i find a methodology i think tastes best#ill update yall#im also interested in other things. i want to experiment with spicy coffee. chili powder or cayenne#make the paprika dracula coffee haha#im also admittedly intrigued by butter coffee? as a flavor profile tho not for fad diet reasons.

not to be back on my bullshit, but with the way discord is leaning into making a social media app (rather than chatting application) really should boost people to find other platforms to host some of their content
with more and more getting locked behind social media accounts, less and less of the internet will be a) searchable and b) archived. discord is not accessible by non-users and even when it is, it is hard to navigate and incredibly bloated. when info get centralized it can be hidden with more ease.
i realize the hypocrisy of posting this on tumblr (a social media platform). but the reality is, there aren't many other places to go these days.
and that makes me sad
#i miss the internet of my youth#weird ass random geocities sites#simple layouts with more info than you'd ever find in my tiny public library#fan works and fandom open and searachable#livejournal before it was bought by the russians#hell not too long ago you could actually search for answers to your issues AND FIND THEM in major search engines#it wasn't perfect but so much has been lost in the name of $$$#ramblings

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard
Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.
Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.
Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.
Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.
SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.
SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.
Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.
Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.
Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.
Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.
Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

the youtube anti-adblock thing is so funny to me like. the fact that theyre saying adblockers are against youtube tos which im pretty sure is not true. "ads allow youtube to be free for billions" i think that is in fact not true. i think you would actually be fine without ads. like youtube is literally owned by Fucking Google. who bought it for over one and a half Billion dollars. in 2006. i dont think youre hurting for money WHATsoever. and then the audacity to say i can pay for youtube premium to get rid of ads like okay i COULD... if i wanted to waste like $150 every year. or i could install ublock origin on my browser. for free. and it would have the same effect. like wow what a hard choice! but oh it keeps going baby. they try to guilt you with the "you can support your favorite creators by watching ads!!!" like if i wanted them to have my money i would donate to their patreon or whatever. Which i already do. like rest assured the people i like are getting paid! and i really doubt most of their income is from ad views anyway im pretty sure ive heard about how little theyre getting paid for like. years now. like sure i COULD watch a hundred ads to support someone... or i could send them $5 on patreon. like which one is quicker and more convenient. #please i wrote about this before but forgot to post i think#does anyone know a search engine that actually searches your keywords not this faux semantic search stuff 😭#i thought duckduckgo was supposed to give direct results but it just gives the exact same results#I HATE IT I HATE SEMANTIC SEARCH KEYWORD SEARCH UNDERSTOOD SEMANTICS BETTER#you used to get to choose exactly what you were searching not just be forwarded to a general category of topics#the “ ” doesnt work anymore either#are there any good keyword engines left guys pls😭#also yeah in recent years ive naturally come to love etymology these days ill often search the etymology of a word rather than its definitn#it helps my mind achieve better comprehension and more consistent and nuanced expression i think#but i cant find nothing abt how currency got to mean “in present” and “money format” on top of its original “running/forward motion”#maybe running/flowing as in the ongoing moment? thus the association of current with presence? i guess thats pretty self explanatory#and i guess it doesnt rly matter why current came to refer to inanimate fluids and run to creature locomotion#but how it came to be associated with the concept of an agreed trade credit format seems important to my instincts fsr#like there was a poetic connection there that would be good to remember#maybe...#well thats what im trying to learn i need a search engine pls😭
