No one on tumblr understands what a changeling is. It's not an infant troll for you to raise. It's an ancient creature, magicked to look like an infant. It's not a friendship to be fostered, it's a foe you have to beat. The changeling is not an innocent victim, it is completely on board with kidnapping your real child, and only stays with you to fool you into forgetting your real child. Changeling lore is cruel and unjust. You cannot 'win' in a changeling scenario - you either have to abuse the changeling until the trolls bring back your real child, or you have to accept that you'll never get your real child back. Changeling lore is cruel. It came about in a time of cruelty. To clean it up and make it appealing is naïve and disrespectful.

#there are other ways to combat a changeling than physically abusing it but i'm not sure tumblr is ready for that nuance #you need to crack open an actual folklore collection and stop reading online encyclopedias with no proper sources

I'm not sure if this will take off but I'd love to be indulged. I just read through an old reddit thread where butches talked about what colognes they wore and liked, and got to thinking that it'd be fun to do the same.

More notes for Roach conlanging. Roach has grammatical gender, in which only Male, Female, and Object are grammatical genders, whereas Worker uses feminine grammar, Queen and King use a slight variant on feminine grammar, and Drone, and Queen-Alate use masculine grammar. This is because King is derived from Queen, due to their similar positions in a colony, and Queen-Alate is derived from Drone, as both are forms of alate.

Queen is an alteration of feminine grammar that functionally just adds a handful of extra syllables to it, and King is an offsprout of Queen that uses the same grammar with different pronouns. Queen-Alate, despite the name, is derived from Drone, as they are both for referring to different types of alate ant.

Most Roach dialects are intelligible to speakers of Snakemouth Den Cordyceps Roach, but Snakemouth Den Cordyceps Roach is not entirely intelligable to speakers of Roach dialects due to a mix of the excessively specialized vocabulary caused by the specific needs of its speakers, the fact that its speakers do not necessarily have Roach mouthparts and thus may not pronounce syllables in a similar way, and due to the fact that Inanimate Object is a full grammatical gender that does not exist in any other dialect of roach and replaces a decent chunk of terminology for things that previously had Other Words For Them.

The only bright spot in MAESTRO is Carrey Mulligan. Cooper's LB is all surface, no substance. Matt Bomer does more in his 5 minutes of screentime than Cooper does in the whole movie.

The movie covers smth like 50 years of Leonard Bernstein's life and even though it namechecks a lot of his achievements, i didnt get a sense of the person at all. Its more infodump than entertainment. There's some lovely camerawork in the b/w part of the movie (first 30 minutes?) but that's about it. Kinda sad that Bradley Cooper cdnt deliver another beautiful musical film like A STAR IS BORN. His instincts were so much better there. This felt like a mess. A powerpoint presentation of a movie.

Made a cute dress for my Valerie

#pullip #proper doll collection introduction post coming uhhh whenever ive got them all in satisfactory setups #in the styles i want them to have #lots and lots of sewing mistakes in the dress if you look closely but it looks mostly ok :)#pattern i followed was from the book tiny wardrobe by hanon #really good for pullip clothing :) the dress ended up a bit loose on her stock body though #i wanna make her some socks too sometime soon but hmm id probably need to go buy fabric for that 🤔🤔🤔#also there was a pattern for some cute boots in the book so if i could find leather scraps for cheap she could have something else #other than the broken lq stock shoes :( they keep falling off #model is pullip varele if you want to know

Idk how else to describe it #BGE Pey'J feels way more like an actual person who has more to him than “Jade's uncle”#He isn't afraid to be goofy and raunchy as well as having relationships with other characters #While in Laserhawk (for the utter worse) his character is tied to Jade and he barely reacts to anyone after killing Pagan Min #I think it's partly because they do nothing with the weird incest thing but Pey'J could've been literally anyone else TBH #Still think he should've died first and Jade lived (preferably for the whole show because she deserves better!)#I need to watch the cutscene collection “movie” proper but that's just my thoughts on skimming through stuff

my brain is so nonsensical, i will see omens in the most mundane shit but then when a dead blackbird appears a little ways away from outside the house i don't even blink

Interesting tea this morning.

Conceptually, this is like Mexican hot chocolate, if it was a tea instead.

The heat isn't overpowering; it's kind of like cinnamon (stick, not ground to be clear.) The cacao gives it a bit of a creamier mouthfeel than I was anticipating. I don't normally like cacao teas because they tend to run overly bitter in my personal experience, but this one is nicely balanced. I think the safflower helps smooth it out a bit.

Overall I think this is pleasant, and I'll get a couple of good cups of of this sample, but probably not a flavor I'd go out of my way to purchase on my own.

Now Gold Rush... Y'all, that tea has a wait list for a reason.

I love the dreams in which the chorus of Hail the Nightmare sings for me... It is a different song every time, but they are always so beautiful, so... genuine? Invoking emotions I can't even identify. They are entrancing and elevating. Singing of Choir (that I presume is in Ebrietas lyrics) just feels so cold and hollow in comparison, it doesn't have fire in it.

Really would love to see (or rather, hear, haha) another dream like that.
