ZevWarden Week 2: La petite mort: Death

A teary reunion after slaying the archdemon, Thalin finds the cure to the taint right after Trespasser, he retires, marries Zevran and they both settle down in  a nice place in Antiva with Dog.

6. What would they think of each other’s combat skills/techniques?

Arihs would be curious abt Dara being a shapeshifter while Dara themself would maybe be a bit put off about Arihs being an assassin. Thalin, Dara and Arihs wouldnt trust Adam's blood magic ESP Dara, they have enough with Jowan and theyve been friends their entire lives. Otherwise they wouldnt think that much abt each others combat ways.

12. Do your protagonists share the same opinions on blood magic?

Asdjfghfhg Obviously Not. Arihs and Thalin dont trust it with a ten foot pole, even tho Arihs would probably be reluctantly ok with it before Thalin would. Dara doesnt like it, he only tolerates it because of his history w Jowan and even then he doesnt want it anywhere near him. And Adam... he doesnt necessarily like it but he understands that how you use it is what makes it evil or not. He had to take a long break from using it after Leandra's death tho.

22. Would you ever ship any of them together?

Nope. None of them would work together as anything romantic and even Dara's relationship with Thalin (and maybe Adam) is strictly brotherly. The only action that i could see happening is Adam maybe getting a crush on Thalin but thats just cause he enjoys pretty men.

5: What scars/birthmarks do your OC(s) have?

Thalin has a horizontal scar that begins on his left cheekbone and ends on the bridge of his nose, he also has one that runs from the top to the bottom of his lips, one on the right side of his jaw, a big one that goes across his back (from shoulder to the bottom of his ribs) and a few scattered across his body (mostly on his arms).

Dara has a few tiny ones all over his body but the worst ones are some lighting scars he has on his arms from the first time he ever lost control of his magic.

Adam has a long scar that starts at the bottom of his forehead and stops at his cheek, coupled with a small one right next to it, one that runs across his nose and also a few random + all the moles he has and a p big birthmark that’s a bit darker than his skintone on one of his calves.

Arihs has his eyebrow scar that cuts it in two, a tiny one he got when he was a kid over his upper lip, one that goes from his bottom lip, splits in two and ends on his chin, a lot of smaller scars on his fingers from making arrow heads/other stuff, the scar the anchor left (it goes from his stump, covering it almost completely and thinning out until it reaches his cheek) and a burnt scar from when dorian had to cauterize his stump after bull cut off the dead part of the arm + all the freckles he has

6: Best Laugh?

Thalin’s, it’s a fanfic level laugh, he barely laughs and when he does it makes his chest rumble in a v nice way. plus. dimples

7: Gives the best hugs?

Adam, he has strong beefy arms, he has nice boobs and no matter ur height he will tuck u under his chin and press ur face into his bulging pecs + when he gets older he gains weight so he’s not hard rock muscle from not eating well anymore and that just makes his hugs even better.

1: which OC has the softest hair?

Arihs. No one knows what he puts in his hair, what he does to it, how he keeps it like that but. it's so soft (Dorian is so jealous only the fact that he gets to play with it calms his anger).

18: What positions does your OC(s) sleep in?

Thalin: spread eagle. He used to have tamlen on one arm and either merrill or fenarel on the other (both arms always fell asleep 😔). He's punched Alistair in the face by accident more than once when they had to sleep close and then Zevran was the one who took on the task of cutting off thalin's arm's circulation.

Dara: on his side with his knees a bit tucked into his chest. The circle's beds were always a bit too tiny :/ (tho no matter how much he turns into a ball he's also been victim to thalin's sprawling tendencies + alistair's need to spoon him)

Adam: on his back but not like thalin. He's used to having people sleep on him (bethany and carver when they were kids, fenris and squirtle (his mabari) + their kids once he's older) so he barely takes up any more space/moves.

Arihs: on his chest, face turned to the side. He just. likes to have his tiddies pressed against the mattress for some reason. He'll also accept laying on his side if he's being tucked against someone's chest.

3. How did you choose their name?

For Arihs I used this post and one of the elven prefixes for inspiration, for Thalin I used Mathalin’s name and shortened it (his parents named him that as an homage to the elven figure) and I took Adam’s name from one of those baby naming websites because it’s not overly modern but it’s not absolutely ancient either and I think it goes well with Bethany’s and Carver’s names.

13. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?

Everybody’s story is extended past trespasser; Thalin finds the cure to the blight, marries Zevran and retires in Antiva; Adam reunites with Fenris and they get a tiny farm in a small village in either Ferelden or The Free Marches and they adopt four kids; and Arihs either gets a happy ending with Dorian (and they have a kid) or he lets the anger and resentment consume him completely which eventually kills him, it depends on how da4 turns out.

19.  What is your favorite fact about your OC?

For Thalin it’s how after Tamlen’s death he desperately tries not to care abt anything/anyone else (to the point of even using other people like Zevran to get better) but ultimately caring too much and going out of his way to help people with everything they need (see: awakening where he adopts everyone) and that he’s not just a clan guardian but also a halla keeper.

Adam’s would be just how much of a family man he is (even after 9 years of seeing each other pretty much every day he still nvr forgives Aveline for what she did/said to Carver) and how instead of using his blood magic only to hurt other people he also uses it like it’s healing magic.

And my favorite Arihs’ facts would be how distrustful he is of everyone in inquisition (and how that’s proved to be correct time and time again but esp after what pride had wrought and trespasser) and that he’s a very very skilled craftsman who makes everyone’s armor/weapons because he doesn’t trust shem’s techniques to be even half as good as the dalish’s.

🍺  (Oghren) - Look, Thalin isn’t amicable with most of his companions but he doesn’t truly hate them, now. if Oghren even so much as directs his stinky ass breath in his direction he’s gonna punch him into the next age. Honestly he just can’t stand the man so when he crosses paths with him AGAIN in awakening Thalin’s ready to just say fuck it and let someone deal with whatever is going on he’s not even 30 and he’s ready to retire.

🏹  (Leliana) - He doesn’t really like Leliana, he knows she means well but he’s had enough encounters with shems and andrastians to form an opinion and he just refuses to deal with any more of it. They’re both cordial with each other but never form an actual friendship during dao and after dealing with the Blight they don’t now abt the other’s whereabouts until inquisition so when Thalin gets to skyhold and sees the woman that Leliana has become he’s... very shocked and now that Leliana isn’t as naive and “loving” of andrastianism they actually become friends. It also helps that after 10+ years only a few people have the same experiences with the blight they both have and it does make them feel a little bit alone sometimes so they just reminisce abt it to each other.

👵 (Wynne) - Again, he’s not really friends with Wynne. At first, when they meet in the circle he thinks she's a. commendable person for having stayed behind to help the other mages but he eventually starts to get tired of her attitude and can’t really stand to have a conversation with her.
