A fated letter was all it took to send his World crumbling. Fenris felt everything at once as he read about Hawke's potential death, loss, anger and grief. But he wouldn't succumb to it. He'd get Hawke back, no matter if he'd need to march into the fade himself.

I actually had a concept for a comic called the Beelzebard. In which a homeless drifter finds the magic golden fiddle dropped by the devil's son during his wild night of partying. And the devil trying to get it back from the fellow who is finding great success in playing it for coin on the street.

And then they kiss.

i would like to hear about your alistair/zevran/surana t4t4t ship 👁👁 (if you want to, of course)

I can't BELIEVE I never saw this I'm so sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway I'm so glad you asked! My Surana is named Laisal and follows the canon mage origin so that's all self explanatory. But he finds it extremely hard to trust Alistair for a long time due to some really traumatic experiences he suffered in the Circle. Like, Alistair is kind and funny but honestly a lot of the Templars he's met have seemed that way as well, and maybe he didn't want to be a Templar, but he still does have the ability to stifle Laisal's magic if he wanted to and the fact that he seems to be kind and harmless (to Laisal anyway) makes the suspicion worse. They're reasonably friendly by the time Zevran joins their party but he still holds Alistair at arms' length.

This is almost the complete opposite to Zevran, whom Laisal is fully aware could kill him (and would have, without a thought) but instead pledges otherwise. The fact that Zevran doesn't pretend to be anything but what he is to Laisal, even though he's a dangerous killer, is really comforting, and he's the first friend Laisal makes that is utterly unaffiliated with mages, Templars, or the Chantry. (Sten is not, at this point, friendly with Laisal.) Laisal grows close to him very quickly because there aren't really other layers to their relationship? Nothing between them is defined by Laisal's status as a mage.

They're well on their way to a committed relationship by the time Laisal realizes he might also have feelings for Alistair. (Alistair has been pining away for Laisal the entire time but kept it to himself, especially once he and Zevran became an item.) And he just sort of ignores it for a while, because polyamory isn't really on his radar, and because he's absolutely happy with what he has with Zevran and doesn't want it to change. It doesn't really come up until Zevran mentions somewhat casually that he finds Alistair physically attractive, and then overcompensates by getting jealous of Alistair, because he doesn't want to be honest and say that he is interested in Alistair physically and romantically.

He realizes he's being stupid pretty quickly and tells Zevran the truth and then they sort of leave it for a while because he doesn't know how he wants to handle it and Zevran doesn't want to rush him. But eventually he writes Alistair a letter and just. Leaves it in his pack for him to find, hoping to avoid the awkwardness of the conversation but it doesn't work because they still have to talk about it. They do and it works out with some weirdness because navigating new relationships is always weird and meanwhile Alistair is sort of operating under the assumption that he is "sharing" with Zevran until they all find their footing.

It surprises Alistair a lot when he finds himself wanting to be with Zevran as well, instead of both of them being with Laisal individually, and he sits on that because he's been very vocal about not trusting Zevran since they first met. They don't actually have a conversation about renegotiating their relationship dynamic until after the Battle of Denerim and Alistair, at this point, is like "Well, what's the worst that can happen?"

"The worst" is that they all have to separate soon after: Laisal to Amaranthine, Alistair routing the last of the Darkspawn in Ferelden, and Zevran back to Antiva to settle his scores. But they write each other frequently and come back together whenever they can.

excerpt from one of my Renlin vignettes. my boy accidentally gets in the way of Morrigan's Disorient spell and says some things about how he feels before it wears off. The reference to giving paper and a book comes from @calligraphypenn 's amazing fic Paper and Cotton.

His Warden laid his hand softly on Zevran's cheek, eyes unfocused and dilated, but smile far softer and more open than he'd seen yet, never mind in the presence of others.

"Zevran, I like you so much," Surana slurred, and he felt himself smiling back at the simple sentiment.

He decided to deflect, lest he find himself saying something foolish in return, "I should certainly hope so, with all the delightfully devilish things I do to you in your tent, my Warden."

He got a small frown in response; a pout, really, "No, it's not just- hmph;" Surana seemed to consider for a moment, a crease in his brow, before apparently deciding, "I'd give you paper Zevran, I'd give you paper and all the way up to a book, at least." Behind him, Wynne made a small choking sound and started, in her admonishing way, "Surana," before his Warden interrupted, saying to Zevran,

"She doesn't know anything, she'd give paper to a templar, if she could." He said this as if it was a truly terrible and ridiculous thing, and Zevran suspected that he had stumbled upon another peculiarity of these Circle mages that he was unaware of.

6. What would they think of each other’s combat skills/techniques?

Arihs would be curious abt Dara being a shapeshifter while Dara themself would maybe be a bit put off about Arihs being an assassin. Thalin, Dara and Arihs wouldnt trust Adam's blood magic ESP Dara, they have enough with Jowan and theyve been friends their entire lives. Otherwise they wouldnt think that much abt each others combat ways.

12. Do your protagonists share the same opinions on blood magic?

Asdjfghfhg Obviously Not. Arihs and Thalin dont trust it with a ten foot pole, even tho Arihs would probably be reluctantly ok with it before Thalin would. Dara doesnt like it, he only tolerates it because of his history w Jowan and even then he doesnt want it anywhere near him. And Adam... he doesnt necessarily like it but he understands that how you use it is what makes it evil or not. He had to take a long break from using it after Leandra's death tho.

22. Would you ever ship any of them together?

Nope. None of them would work together as anything romantic and even Dara's relationship with Thalin (and maybe Adam) is strictly brotherly. The only action that i could see happening is Adam maybe getting a crush on Thalin but thats just cause he enjoys pretty men.

yeah it seems like an afterthought when it's only in WoT v2 and with 0 context =_= particularly as it's completely irrelevant in the masked empire, too!

i desperately want the reasoning for nevarra invading, mostly?? there's no precedent afaik. it's BIZARRE. may look into nevarra's history later as i haven't done that much and am mostly familiar with what info they provide in inquisition which is primarily relating to the schism that cassandra's parents were killed in and relations w/ tevinter

omg re: the orlesian occupation post and ur tags gaspard specifically LITERALLY has his rep partially built on conflict w/ nevarra - nevarra was invading but he literally humiliated them back across the border. why was nevarra invading? literally no explanation i think the conflict was invented for gaspard's backstory. but still!!

wait what??? ive genuinely never heard of this so i had to go to the wiki. apparently its in the book of thedas, because why not put something so important to deciding the new reigning monarch into a supplementary material and then not even mention it or even hint at it in-game?
