Bloodied And Unbroken Skin - Thalin/Suzanne Denver

A/N: Fic 15 for @jmathesonandsiblings Spooky Season in the Barrens. TW: Past bloodshed.

Suzanne’s skin is unbroken when Thalin finds her, the blood spatter around her says it all. Suzanne has been silent since she arrived, crouching in a corner surrounded by gore and blood. She’s quiet as she crouches, tucking soft hair from Suzanne’s eyes and hating the whimper and shudder. She knows why, this much violence is never fun, not for girls like Suzanne, gentle, sweet tempered Suzanne who could flip on a switch, changing from calm to explosive rage. “Who was it?” Thalin’s voice is rough. “Friends of…. His.” “Then you did well.” Thalin murmurs, holding a hand out to Suzanne, her voice soft. “Let’s get you cleaned up.”

The knight laughed, rubbing his cheek a moment after, "Oh it's no secret that I'm a fan of snickerdoodles. I have a bit of a sweet-tooth generally, but those are my absolute favorite. Otherwise, I'm a fairly meat and potatoes kind of guy. Mother made a very good buck chili that I enjoy to this day. Oh, I tried some kaldorei kimchi the other day, and that was surprisingly good!"

Motherly Advice

Before setting out for the Greatwood, A’lathei goes to her mother for advice. Her mother has some suggestions.

Trying out a new gpose comic style. Hope this is a little better to read.

Several things to note: There was going to be more discussed between A’lathei and her mother, but I decided to leave the more comedic bits for an omake, and save the other serious stuff for a later comic, with the Exarch more in focus.

I’zazanh and G’raha fill a very niche trait that Antelope tribe members are raised to respect and find attractive: Intelligence. It’s not too far fetched that she happens to be into Sharlayan Seekers. Y’shtola was a crush for a time, G’raha was a burgeoning crush during the CT raids... etc, etc.

A’lathei is dressed the starting gear in response to Altheia telling them the conversations she has with Ardbert, so she’s messing with the Exarch again. This conversation only happened because she’s overthinking. Back on the First, she was only keeping her attraction subtle because of propriety and out of respect for her girlfriend, who probably hasn’t met G’raha before he went to sleep. (spoiler: they knew of each other)

During Rak’tika and onwards? He’s in danger. So much danger.

So the council are devvwided into a fewwv groups:

The Tidal Lords, a group of Mercantiles. Gained and maintain powwver through money. Tax the fuck out of their citizens and then charge them for the shit their taxes paid for. Think of the War lords as young upstarts bound to evvwentually tear each other apart.

The WarLords- wwvhat it says on the tin. Career soldiers, gained powwver by being too tough to kill. Don't like howwv soft the Tidal Lords are.

The Orcinic Cect- Saturn's closest allies. Religious zealots no one respects but evvweryone fears.

Not all violet bloods are on the council, but almost evvweryone on the council IS a Violet blood. There's twwvelvvwe chairs, thirteen if you count Scylla's, and each group has three representativvwes, wwvith the remaining chairs belonging to the Church's representatives.

The current seats are: Ulfgar Calico, Rackam Calico, Lussen Gailen, Sanbar Delphi(Thresh's descendant), Ceiata Oricin, Mihnke Wriite, Saturn Ampora, Kathri Aubryn, Thalin Johvve, Bachus, and The Twwvins.

None of the Violets actually like eachother, except for Lussen and Ulfgar, and Saturn and Kathri. None of them like BACHUS either, and they tend to ignore JJ. Scylla's barely keeping all of them from killing each other.

Name: Thalin Nickname: Tali Love Interest: Suzanne Denver Appearance: Long Blonde hair, Blue eyes, pale skin. Thalin often swims in her selkie creature form. When she does turn to her human form she is often naked or wearing bikinis. Height: 5′8 History: Thalin doesn’t talk about her past. She remembers meeting Sukila and she remembers finding her own private cave to live in when she doesn’t want to swim or sleep underwater. For her, that is enough... and then she meets Suzanne Denver. Now she has to choose what to do with her life having killed the woman’s abusive ex.

i love how essentially the romances i do for each of the games are like their own litmus test for how good the games are. For origins i had to make TWO guys because they characters and their romances are just that good. Da2 i only have one guy because the game has its flaws and it is personally a bit more difficult for me to get into one of the main romances as a companion but still so good that i dont need to have anything extra beyond the canon romance. Dai is mix between canon romance and friend's oc romance because lets be honest. it is a really weak game compared to dao and da2 but even then dorian is literally a top 3 companion/romance so its still salvageable. And then dav where i literally gave up on the canon romances and had to ask my bff to lend me their rook de riva and turn him into a romance. el oh el.

Jensen fc's always make me smile. What made you choose him?

There wasn't too crazy much thought behind it. I just kinda vibed with him as a stand-in for Thalin for a while before I finally just ran with it. It helped so much when Jensen grew out his hair right around the same time I wanted Thalin to grow his hair out. His big, goofy smile is for sure the biggest selling point for me, too.

Introducing Thalin Beveran, Miralith’s brother and the secondary lead of my story

Thalin is an elf artificer who runs a tinkering shop, he likes to invent gadgets and machines, he is very passionate about engineering and could ramble on and on about the subject. He also has a great interest in cartography, he loves to draw and study maps and has quite a collection of various maps from around the world.

Personality wise, Thalin is witty and clever, he is great at planning things out in his head, though he does get distressed when things don't go to plan, but he can usually still find a way to make things work out in the end. He likes to crack jokes and always speaks his mind, though a lot of the time he doesn’t read the room and can often lead to his remarks being inappropriately timed. He cares a lot for Miralith and his friends, though he can often have a hard time showing it. He's also very creative, and can think of outside-the-box solutions to problems.

Backstory:

Thalin hadn't been born yet when he and miralith's father left, so he only had his mother and miralith looking after him growing up. He had an over-reliance on Miralith as a kid and even up to their adult years, until Miralith was drafted to fight in the war. Now that he was suddenly without his sister, he was lost on what to do in life, and that led him to living on the streets as a thief, fighting to survive

On the streets, he met a fellow thief named Serryn, a half-mermaid woman who was extremely cunning. They decided to team up, with her cunning mind and brilliant planning skills and his creativity and dexterity, they became a great power couple, they were very successful thieves and had gone on many heists with the city watchmen being none the wiser

one day however, they were in a heist and things went awry. Thalin had the stolen treasure when he and Serryn were spotted by law enforcement, so they had to make a break for it and run away, but Serryn got caught, and rather than helping her, Thalin ran away with the treasure out of cowardice, leaving her to fend for herself.

after the war, Miralith found out Thalin had become a lowly criminal and was ashamed, disappointed, and furious with him, and she refused to interact with him until he got his life back together, which was finally gave thalin the motivation to change for the better. He opened a tinkering shop, making things out of some of his stolen goods and selling them, but then reinvesting that money he made into buying more materials rather than continuing to steal, and after a few years he and miralith finally reconnected and became close again
