clude leaving is so bittersweet... i'm so sad we've lost such a sweet couple and great wlw representation but they left happy and stronger than ever!!!!!!!

the colour symbolism with kenzie's signature colour going from yellow from to blue is a subtle but effective character choice imo. the yellow in s8 felt more youthful joyful and vibrant for when she was new to being dance captain, whereas now kenzie's blue wardrobe in s9 shows that she's maturing and gaining wisdom as dance captain, but is also going through some tough times too. blue is also tns' signature colour so it also shows that she's an important part of the studio!!!

i love heath in this season... his energy, his attitude, his relationships, carter's acting, everything 💯

grace's reasoning for wanting revenge is so silly because she legit made herself an outcast and when kenzie tried to talk with her she just dipped

i'm still upset and bitter and frustrated with daisy leaving........ i just hate seeing great potential dropped like that. melody was such a good addition to the cast!! also where was her goodbye scene with izzy???????? she wasn't just close with heath; she was close to izzy too!!!!!!

my heart broke for pete multiple times and i'm glad that we had a storyline tackling grief and (briefly) men's mental health. i wish it had more of a focus and lasted for longer but it was still effective.

kenzie basically being both the dance captain and studio head by herself because what does nick even do retroactively makes riley look even worse at being studio head.......... yeah season 4's treatment of riley is still annoying me in the year 2024

idk if it's just me but does anyone else feel like it's not internationals???? the vibe feels much more like regionals or nationals. the scale doesn't quite feel grand enough

i wasn't sure that heath was "the heart of the team" but after watching all of 9a, not only is he the heart of the team he's also the team therapist and cheerleader... i love to see it

i love that anthony is still a ball of stress/anxiety and is also in a really important leader position as group choreographer. so often you see anxious people just depicted as introverts and not as leaders, so it's nice to see someone who's anxious but also a very capable leader

olive is the definition of a precious cinnamon roll. she's sounds like a disney princess every time she talks. she reminds me of amy in s4 too!! she really is just the 🥺 emoji

random point but i love that adele's signature colour being emerald green. it reminds me of ariel's tail in the little mermaid and now i'm thinking of an au where adele is ariel and anthony is prince eric

i know i'm probably in the minority here but i am totally on board with anthony x adele (should their ship name be anthele/adelthony/adelony??). anthony really had one conversation with her alone and just fell for her instantly. some fans probably think it's dumb and realistic but i think it's really sweet and they have potential for 9b

i do also lowkey ship adele x olive because they're so cute together (and they remind me of pamy a little.) when adele didn't want to work with ariana but was unable to resist olive's puppy dog eyes...... they're so cute!!!

given season 9's marketing has been pretty terrible it really does make me doubt that there will be a season 10. i would like a last series to tie the whole show together and maybe have a few reunions so the show has a great send-off, but feels unlikely now that they really dropped the ball when promoting this series

So last year I thought about writing a college marching band AU but I didn't get beyond sorting every A-Trouper into sections. Pre-Season 7 my brothers helped because those are the seasons I can watch on the TV, and my brothers are band kids through and through. New characters for seasons 7-9 are probably less accurate since I was assigning them on my own.

HOMESHAKE - "Waiting For The Phone To Ring"

HOMESHAKE is the ambitious solo project of Toronto-based musician Pete Sagar. His songs originate from the quiet corner of his own home studio. An expanded version of his latest album, Horsie (Deluxe), will be out November 8th on SHHOAMKEE. 

The songs displayed here portray a downtempo utopia. Wishy- Triple Seven (WINSPEAR)

Welcome to the debut album of Wishy. Hot off the heels of two great EPs, high school friends Kevin Krauter and Nina Pitchkites are the main songwriters out of Bloomington, Indiana. Been a fan of Kevin’s over the years, but Nina adds a nice touch of dream pop-inspired tunes. Dimitri Morris on guitar and vocals, Mitch Collins on bass, and Conner Host on drums fill in the rest of the band. The album was produced by Ben Lumsdaine (another Bloomington alum) and Kevin Krauter; mixed by Ben Lumsdaine; and mastered by Greg Orbis at another Midwest studio, Chicago Mastering. “Sick Sweet” kicks things off with a blast of guitars and synths. Kevin takes on the lead vocals here. Check out the video:

Nina takes over on the title track, “Triple Seven,” a swirl of sound that you just don’t want to end. Beautiful angelic backup vocals fade into this dream pop gem. Watch here:   

”Persuasion” is another slam of bombarding guitars. Beautiful vocals interplay between the two. Imagine New York’s Ivy on speed and you’ll get the idea. Next up, “Game,” is another distorted guitar blast with cool harmonic interplay between the two singers. “Love On The Outside” features Kevin singing again over a warped acoustic guitar sound until the rest of the band kicks in. “Little While” begins as a twittering orchestra and then settles into a dream pop beauty with Nina’s chilling vocals. Up next, “Busted,” is a straight-up indie rocker from Kevin with a mash-up of guitars. “Just Like Sunday” slows things down a bit, but with nice beats and jangle guitar. Catch the video:  

“Honey” brings things back up to speed with Kevin singing and power chords galore. The album ends with “Spit,” another song filled with harmonic bliss between the two, only this time it’s a sludge-filled blast of guitars and a pounding rhythm section. (And watch out for the guitar solos near the end.) Recorded the same time as the Paradise EP, (apparently, there are still a few more songs available), there’s no stopping Kevin and Nina’s Wishy. They’ve been popping up on many “bands to watch” lists and you need to join the hype. Very disappointed I missed them at the Logan Square Arts Festival in July. Wishy Announces Third Single 'Sick Sweet' Ahead of Highly Anticipated Debut LP 'Triple Seven'

In just over a month, Wishy will release their debut LP, *Triple Seven*, an album poised to be one of the year's most anticipated debuts. Following their 2023 *Paradise* EP, which garnered critical acclaim from outlets like Pitchfork, the New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Stereogum, the album (out August 16th on Winspear) has already spawned two singles, "Love On The Outside" and the title track "Triple Seven," both receiving high praise from the press. In June, the band announced an extensive fall tour across the US, UK, and EU, featuring dates with American Football and Guided By Voices, as well as appearances at Pitchfork London and Hopscotch. Today, they are sharing a third single from their LP, a track titled "Sick Sweet." Triple Seven is a vibrant blend of alternative music history, featuring elements of shoegaze, grunge, and power-pop. While their debut EP leaned heavily into dream pop and shoegaze, band leaders Kevin Krauter and Nina Pitchkites aimed for a louder, more aggressive, and fun sound on their LP, Wishy. This evolution is evident in the dynamic alt rock track "Sick Sweet," their heaviest release yet, which strikes a balance between raucous energy and Krauter's penchant for blissfully hazy melodic pop. Krauter explains: "This song is about wanting something or someone despite doubts or misgivings, and laying it all on the line to see it through. I was inspired by an Oasis interview where Liam Gallagher talked about his lyrics being about 'just living life' and 'just going for it.' That’s the energy I put into this song." The track is accompanied by a music video directed by Nate Kahn, who captured vignettes of the band during their recent tour with Narrow Head, including their off day at the beach in Florida. Blessing Offor Sets Mark As Capitol CMG Most Streamed Debut Album
