I'm making this because I want to post something, but also am in somewhat of a manic episode and this is how I cope so-

Explaining some of my kins

Emily Dickinson (Dickinson)

If anyone knows that "Is this fuckin play about us?!" audio from Tiktok, that's how I felt when I first saw this woman on my screen. Aside from having siblings, there is NOTHING that sets us apart. The inflection in her voice, how she interacts with people around her, her family's dynamic, her internal monologues, and how she copes with things. I have two tattoos dedicated to this show because the show resonated with me to such a high extreme.

Rebecca Bunch (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend)

Without going into too much detail. Let's just say that I've been season 1 Rebecca in the past. I watched the show back in 2019 and multiple times, at some almost comedic scenes I started crying because I resonated with Rebecca to such a high degree. I saw, not parts of myself, but my whole self in her. A little funny thing is one of my friends is named Patrick, so I often sing "(Tell Me I'm Okay) Patrick" when he's around. And of course, the quote: "It just, it just feels like everyone is in this cabal of normal people, and they're all laughing at me like I'm the jester in my own Truman Show. Patrick, tell me what the secret is."

Robin Buckley (Stranger Things)

A lil Robin! She's one of the reasons why I changed my name! I love the name, Robin, I always did! I mean there's not much to say about her in terms of kinning. A little ball of anxiety that seems intimidating at first (apparently a lot of my friends found me intimidating when they saw me), a little fun comedic character that actually borders on tragedy (if the show would be written well-). Autistic as well, but that's fanon.

Eleanor Shellstrop (The Good Place)

UMM HELLO??? HI?? ME??? Mommy issues, daddy issues. Just issues in general, deflecting with humor??? I actually started hyper-fixating on philosophy because of this show, my friends constantly keep saying I'd be the main character in a sitcom too (which... I am...). I mean just watch the show if you haven't, it's really good.

Edward Teach (Our Flag Means Death)

When I made my friend watch OFMD I asked him which character he thinks I kin and the second Blackbeard showed up he pointed to him and I asked why, his response was "What do you mean, why?! Look at him! ADHD off the charts! He's all over the place! He's fascinated by the simplest of things!", then later on as the show continued, when we got Ed's backstory, he once again said "I can't believe you asked me why when he has daddy issues." And of course, there's more to me relating to him outside of these little traits. Will I share anything else? No, fuck you (/j), it's personal!

Nadine Franklin (The Edge of Seventeen)

yes !! so ,, so many ,,, there’s so many of them :0 so here’s a list of the main ones !!

when i’m regressed: chopper (one piece), nimona, king + the collector (toh), korilakkuka, c!charlie (dsmp), star (svtfoe), steven (steven universe), ollie (jrwi), jason (tgp), lily (zombieland saga)

when i’m not regressed: br’aad (jrwi), pearl + amethyst + smoky quartz + stevonnie + spinel + steven again (steven universe), nimona again, jake (b99), luz (toh), luffy (one piece), dirk (dghda)

there’s a bunch more but those r the ones i feel most strongly about ^^ some are bc of their coping mechanisms and what they’ve been through (lily, spinel, luz), some are bc of their designs or how they act on the surface (korilakkuma, star, luffy), and some are a mix of both (chopper, nimona, amethyst) :D

i don’t take kinning super seriously all the time, but i do think that these characters all blended together (bbvvbvrrrrrrrtt) are a pretty good representation of me as a person :] also if u know any of them (esp the more niche ones) hihihi can we be friends :3

i still relate to the ones that regressed me kins a little bit when i’m not in that headspace, but not as much, and mostly for aesthetic reasons. it also depends on the character, and there’s a lot of overlap. i think my strongest kin is definitely nimona, since they’re super similar to me personality-wise and also canonically an age regressor whose personality changes similarly to mine when they regress! i swear to u i will never shut up about this movie :3

I have a couple things I have to rant about so I’ll just say them both in one ask for efficiency wheeee

firstly, what the fuck why does TGP (the genesis project, for those who are lucky enough to not know) have to give me kin vibes. Like it is vividly reminding me of my source but not in any solid way. Although it seems to be giving me some insight, at least, because I distinctly remember the color red being involved in either my (well. Technically not *mine* but I’m not getting into that now) land or my aspect.

and secondly, I feel bad about sticking to one typing style, because sometimes I don’t feel like putting in the effort of capitalization, but otherwise my very particular typing style feels natural. But I always stick to one (it’s different for different people I talk to) so it doesn’t confuse anyone.

also bonus third thing: I can’t stand making spelling errors (unless they’re ironic), so it’s very fuckin annoying that I have hand tremors. I always feel like I have to go back and correct them, which makes my typing speed slow. I used to be an AI why’d I have to end up like this <\3

Thunder rumbled around the demon, emulating the laughter of the many maws blindly lunging out from its form to chomp at he air.

The prey is talking to itself! Praying to some feeble god! Gibbering nonsense like a babe!

The demon deftly dodged the metal disk, running full steam around the corner. Where its prey definitely... did not flee to???

It scanned the surroundings, locating its Hex and where the demigod had run off to.

Under the earth? A tunnel! The disk had been covering a dark, damp cave.

It dropped down into those depths, feet and dripping magma hissing as they made contact with the water. There was no time to trudge through the muck, so it clambered up the wall and tried its damnedest to run on all fours.

Unfortunately, the mismatched hind and fore limbs of this body simply weren't suited to the task, and the smaller autonomous hands weren't nearly fast enough.

The long-dead demon wasn't skilled enough with these newfangled shadow powers and settled on rocketing through the tunnel with magma and flames.

It worked well enough, for a little while. Though, the eons-old entity did not know about sewer systems.

It stalked prey. It shit in the woods. It beat its kin with a rock after fifteen days of nonstop rain. It suffocated while cooking their flesh in that dry chamber at the top of their cave.

It could "breathe" ash and flame without issue. However, it did not know about sewer gas.

The shockwave as the air in the tunnels exploded was a serious surprise. It was so flabbergasted by this turn of events that Fang was able to wrest control back and become an incorporeal shadow.

The man's wispy form hastily escaped through the entry hole as the sewer collapsed, forming deep trenches and craters throughout the TGP compound and further on into the industrial district.

Fang coughed up the last dregs of magma and laid on the edge of the trench, wheezing. He did a sluggish touch check of his gear, his clothes, his limbs, his hair, and his face.

He was overjoyed to be intact. Mostly intact, the gash in his back was healing quickly. His coat would need mended, but he still retrieved an inhaler from the breast pocket and puffed twice.

Breathe in, out. Breathe in, out.

"Aww fuck!" Fang exclaimed, scrambling to his feet. He began jogging along the trench, stepping through rifts to cross gaps, scanning for signs of the fading Hex or his opponent's massive pool of mana.

Fang realized as soon as he tasted the kid's divinity that it definitely wasn't a connection to Monad, so he definitely didn't deserve this horsepiss.

He did kill that sniper, though.

Okay, so he's destroying shit without much regard, and that's definitely going to get people killed if I lead him too far.

"Jacob?" A female voice crackled through his phone. "Where the fuck have you been for the past month?"

His foot missed a step, but his pace recovered quickly, laying down gunfire as the thing began to charge.

"Boston, big fucking thing. Lava. Darkness. If you can get here quick, I need help. If I die, kill this shit."

He tossed the phone across the street, not having time to look at it further. At the speed of things happening right now, fractions of a second mattered.

New plan has to be stealth. I need to recover a bit.

His arm wound up before unleashing his rosary into a nearby manhole cover. It wasn't a clean cut to stick the rosary in, but a bit of ice forming between the two could make for a surprising amount of grip. For the briefest moment, he stopped to swing the manhole cover loose at the beast, gaining a bit of centrifugal force with the distance his rosary allowed. As the disk flung, he used the force transferred through the rosary to fling himself back into a run.

Step 1.

Just a few feet away from the open manhole was an alleyway. Exactly where he'd hidden the car. He rounded the corner at full speed and prepped his rosary again, this time catching the handle of a door, flinging it open.

Step 2.

Without delay, he turned around, hoping that his angle was correct to be just out of sight of the beast. With the last of his energy, he began to make a dead sprint back towards his opponent. He forced what little divinity he had left to turn into usable energy to give him the briefest time stop before he popped out of the alley.

Hold it.

With everything set in motion, it should look like he'd run into the building. He dove into the open manhole, holding his breath until he'd just barely passed through, losing control of time and falling into the sewers. With a quick roll, on landing, he fell into the water, partially out of intention, partially from loss of balance. It stunk, but the cool water soothed his overheating core and scratched up bare feet. With his scarf providing him a few moment's worth of air, he let the stream rush him away, hoping the monster wouldn't find him.

While showcasing well-planned writing that astonishes and moves me every single time, it also helps me act like only I know the secrets when people are still catching up on earlier seasons.
