Apologies for not posting as much; I've been playing more TGAA and also got struck with lethargy blasts. But we are back and ready to discuss Chapter 2 of The Great Ace Attorney.

DAMN WAS THAT GOOD!

I loved the setting, doing a mission on a boat was nice, and I loved how it introduced the idea of investigations and made them the focal point of it all.

Meeting Herlock Sholmes for the first time was beautiful; he's kind of a jerk but still lovable. Pavlova was cool; I really liked her story and wish her all the best.

Though I guess I should address the case itself...

WHY KAZUMA! WHY MY BELOVED BOY! WHY MUST HE HAVE BEEN TAKEN FROM THIS WORLD! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was torn when I found out he died. I'd kinda predicted it, but I also kinda didn't want my prediction to be correct, ya know?

I made this post after finishing Chapter 3, so I'll also post my thoughts about that case soon!

Also I didn’t just try to turn him into an inkling by just slapping the physical features on him, I also tried to “Splatoon-ify” his outfit a bit while also trying to not stray too far from the original outfit I looked up a shit ton of Splatoon gear for inspiration-

in need of dgs/tgaa character ref sheets? i got you!!

i posted a thread of these on twitter quite a while ago but i only just realized i never posted to tumblr- so here you go! in this google drive folder you will find reference sheets like the one above for most of the characters in dgs, including wagahai and toby! it should be spoiler free unless you open the spoiler folder. i also have a folder of all of the character models i have ripped from the game so that anyone can open them in blender! i even have the model for the old bailey in there in case you need a reference for it! (some of the models are old uploads and not all of the meshes are properly named/textured, i am in the process of going through and fixing them up) all of that said, i have not ripped every single model from the game, so if you have any requests for models/ref sheets that i haven't made yet, please let me know by DMing me either here on tumblr or on discord @/alaskanbullworm (i'm more likely to see it sooner on discord). unfortunately i am currently unable to rip the dlc costume models, as much as i wish i could. anyway, i hope these are helpful! :D UPDATE: i have found a way to use more color-accurate textures for the models- i probably won't remake all of the ref sheets but if you want to colorpick from the character models, i recommend doing it from the updated textures i am currently adding to the google folder!

Hello, mutual Star! Last time you asked me for my tgcf opinions and I gave you a lightning round of my thoughts, but now I want a lightning round of your tgcf thoughts! This was definitely my original idea and not at all orchestrated by a third party! (But seriously, we talked using my thoughts as a jumping off point before, I wanna know what some of your favorite parts of the series are :D)

this question is evil 😔 because i have bad memory and i last read tgcf like 2 years ago BUT i will answer to the best of my ability (and memory)

- obviously.... hualian.... theyre so everything.... romance of all time.. i remember my first time reading it i was so crazy abt the first scene in the gambling den and then the lanterns scene.. oughgh .. their aesthetics are also kind of insane. the white/red/silver/butterflies slay

- what u said abt both of their characters being so good was rly true i agree.. but xie lian was definitely one of my fav charas ever after i finished (will have to revisit to see if it still holds i SWEAR ill reread it this sem)

- the arc i remember most vividly is the very first one and the entire backstory saga bc wow. agony and suffering. the first one was just fun and i rly liked the structuring of the early arcs! the way the story builds is really sooo satisfying

- ling wen was also one of my fave charas and i don't remember her arc too well but she is beloved to me <3 best heavenly discord mod

SORRY IF THIS ANSWER IS LACKING... U__U tgcf is on the immediate tbr for my commute next semester so you Will Eventually have coherent thoughts from me but. for now all i can say is that it was a really satisfying story to read and hualian kind of invented romance <3 i usually have more things to say when im responding to someone elses thoughts LOL

I can't be the only one who finds it so childish whenever I see someone post something like:

"Gross I just found out I was following a *insert shipper of ship this person doesn't like* I can't believe it their art/stories/meta etc. Was so good but they are now *insert some random bad thing like misogynist or pedophile or abuser even though 9 times out of 10 whatever they accuse them of does not apply to the ship in question at all* thus I have unfollowed them and everyone else should also unfollow them and block them and basically cut them off from their online community for the crime of *checks notes* liking a ship I don't like *and in most cases it's not even liking that ship its not liking the rival ship that the poster ships instead*.

Its childish. If I decide I don't like what someone I follow is posting I unfollow them and I don't bother to announce it to the world. I have NOTPs, I don't assume everyone who ships them are bad people and before anyone tries to pull up some shit I've said in the past I've been on this website since I was a teenager and I am now 26 years old you will not get a "haha gotcha" from dredging up some dumb shit I said when I was younger, people change and mature.

Like I don't particularly care for Claude x Hilda for example but I'm in a Discord Server where sometimes art of it gets posted. And I don't care. I don't like Leon x Ada in RE but again I just try to ignore it.

I really am not a fan of Kazuma x Ryuonosuke in TGAA because of various reasons but I acknowledge its fucking popular and its fans can have their fun so long as they leave me alone in my corner with Kazuma x Barok and Phoenix x Edgeworth.

I won't even bother the fans in the DMC fandom who ship Spardacest cause again so long as they are leaving me alone I won't judge them its fiction after all, not like they're actually away pulling a Jaime and Cersei in real life.
