Rewatching TFATWS episode 2 now and wow. They really gave over the first 8 minutes of the episode to John Walker. Fml

I hate the guy. And I hate the show giving him so much screen time to make the audience feel bad for him. Should've made him like a 3rd gen military nepo baby, whose dad or grandad is a 4 star general or something, and failed upwards because he's a propaganda poster boy.

If it was me writing, instead of the sad boy locker room scene, I would've had a flashback open the episode, in Afghanistan so Sam and Walker had crossed paths when Sam was a PJ.

Maybe show his unit getting evacuated by Sam and Riley, and Walker being a hothead cos getting pulled out means he doesn't get to be the hero.

Then you can cut into the interview thing where he's all smarmy and full of himself. Lol idk he just irks me so much! 😅🤣

honestly it's so wild to me that sam and bucky's relationship has gone through the development it has, to the point where it's unironically one of the healthiest relationships in the mcu. from the steering wheel incident in the winter soldier, to their incredible "asshole i'm forced to work together with" dynamic in civil war (best part of the movie ngl), to them truly working past their differences and genuinely growing to care about each other in tfatws.

and now they're at a point where bucky dropped everything to comfort sam when he needed it, and sam trusted him to be completely vulnerable with him. and of course the canon "i love you". it's incredible to see how far they've come and i can't wait to see more of their relationship in the future.

just rewatched the falcon and the winter soldier after seeing captain america: brave new world. and ugh i love sam wilson and bucky barnes so much. to watch their friendship and love evolve on screen is an honor.

In episode 1 of tfatws bucky is wearing a watch on his right wrist despite being right handed, and obviously people do do that but typically/traditionally a watch goes on the non dominant hand, so it's interesting to see a man who was born in 1917 (today, actually, happy birthday pookie) and died in 1945 to be doing this

Maybe it reacts awkwardly with the metal hand? Maybe fashionista James Buchanan Barnes thinks that it clashes? Who other than me cares?

just rewatched tfatws and.. damn this show is really slept on i feel like. i mean they did a pretty good job of making critiques of the us military, the government’s use of the term ‘terrorist’, the fact that a black man being captain america holds a lot more weight than a white man doing so (but also constantly proving that sam is absolutely worthy of holding the title), and it gives both sam and bucky plenty of screen time both together and separately. also karli was a really convincing antagonist because the only times i found myself disagreeing with her was when she chose to sacrifice lives for her cause, but the cause itself was understandable. like idk i think they cooked up a very solid show but it really didn’t get the recognition it deserved, probably because people were expecting a buddy cop comedy or something

In ep3 Zemo was intent on not leaving his work “unfinished” re destroying the winter soldier programme.

In ep4 Zemo says “the DESIRE to become superhuman cannot be separated from supremacist ideals, anyone with the serum is inherently on that path”.

Later in that ep, Sam asks him “what about Bucky” and we don’t get an answer.

But seems like Zemo already had space in his head for Bucky to be an exception to his “kill all the supersoldiers” rule, as someone who never wanted it in the first place.

(Also, unclear how aware Zemo is of Isaiah, but think fair to say he’s not gonna go after him in any case)
