arachnus is a trans man. he had two supportive mothers to help him on his journey. not all transitions are the same, nor are the goals the same. it’s important to me that people see arachnus as a fat trans guy, and see that it is normal. he loves himself and his body, he doesn’t have self-esteem issues. this was his transition goal all along.

during his childhood, many spiderfolk were displaced or killed due to the bigotry in his society. he doesn’t remember his father, who died when he was very young. but he considers it an honor and privilege to grow old and, as his mother says, look more like his father with each passing day

You know, I've seen people say the writers of South Park "Gaslight" people about Token's named actually always having been Tolkien, but....I don't think that's honestly what they were trying to do? Like, I feel like that's more commentary on TV shows kind of doing that thing where they just pretend a trait or thing about a character has just always been tfat. And the audience has just not noticed or pretended it was ALWAYS part of the show. Even them changing Tolkien's name in most media and things is just part of the joke. Like, Trey and Matt ABSOLUTELY seem like the types to go back over LITERALLY every piece of media they've done and alter the characters' name just for the sake of one joke. I honestly wouldn't have been surprised if for their games they released a patch that alters all of the places where his name is spelled Token because they just take the joke THAT far. It's like if that Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League thing where Deadshot was always a black guy was done right.

Sometimes, people go far for a good enough joke.

im gonna use my skeleton cards! i think theyre funky- and one of the cards is a skeleton dancing with TWO cups of wine in his bony ass hands.
