A wildlife documentary team could be sooo cool! A team of grad students set out to do a complete ecological survey of Cybertron, the first one ever, to personally film and document every single mechanimal in existence. It's a big part of their work toward earning their doctorates. They've got a tiny ass stipend thats just barely enough for food, borrowed equipment from their professor, and some camping gear for roughing it. They've decided to live stream and vlog some of their journey, and their excitement and love for the field is palpable, not to mention incredibly endearing. Their little webshow amasses a quaint little following, so many mecha leaving comments about how they didn't know X creature existed, or they had no idea Y critter was actually so big in real life! Some even write them fanmail, asking them if/when they'll cover a specific creature ^-^

I now realize that this is basically the plot of the wild thornberrys 😂😂 all we need is someone to rescue a trapped creature and get given the power to talk to animals lmfaooo

In my TFA altered timeline with the Predacons Autobots no longer have “animal names”, like Bumblebee or Hound, due to the association with the Predacons. Bumblebee’s counterpart for example would be called Goldfire or Goldwheels.

list of things ive observed after watching tfone 2.5 times (the 0.5 was because i was speeding through looking for image proofs etc)

starting with something funny: B's cogless form has an energon compartment.

assuming that this is standard for all cogless models, it makes it especially hilarious to think that OP during the intro chase sequence either didn't think of storing his energon, or that he's just hungy enough and he's snacking as he runs

2. cameo guesswork (excluding jazz, since he was the only one that got formally mentioned and any screentime outside of main cast). has varying confidence/accuracy levels. here we go.

moonracer, prowl, perceptor (or sideswipe), ironhide, wheeljack, hound (if it is hound, at a later scene a mech of a similar frametype had a line in a fem-sounding voice), sunstreaker, arcee, red alert, and chromia (caught only because the announcer said so lmao. im more used to her darker blue paintjob like in idw and cyberverse). i think i also saw a helm that looked like drift (not deadlock, drift) but i can't really confirm.

3. bots that appeared on the iacon 5000 leaderboards but to my knowledge no screentime otherwise (can also be seen as a list of bots that are cogged and will later join the autobots, assuming the timeline will follow traditional bot/con division):

silverbolt, deadend, slingshot, cliffjumper, motormouth; powerglide, jetstorm, blurr (of course. this is his natural habitat after all); swindle and tailgate.

admittedly i found the inclusion of swindle so so funny because like?? dude i thought you'd be running the betting rings rn lol.

4. sentinel's characterization (outside of g1, i watched reruns as a kid but i don't remember them anymore) has always been either someone grossly incompetent or a menacing/suppressive force on cybertron. i thought it was interesting that they made him devious and actually kind of cunning this time around.

anyway. i also thought his paintjob was based off of tfa, but no his g1 counterpart laid the groundwork there.

they did away with the cheeto orange (goodbye cheeto orange) but the gold is striking. really gives him that image of glamor and opulence.

telesync kinda fucked up the colors but: elita's optics have a greenish hue to them, more aquamarine/cyan than the regular autobot blues that B and OP have. D's is, of course, yellow.

verging into speculation territory, i wonder if there's a reason why they gave D distinctly hexagonal optics? the yellow is pretty obvious, its easier to transition from yellow to red than blue to red. but the hexagons are very eye catching (pun intended), given how they spin around. it's not exactly something people would miss. tune in later for my Outlier/Point-One Percenter D theory

6. sentinel's guards (excluding airachnid) are kinda weird.

theyre very homogenous in shape, no individual characteristics, not even a little kibble to separate them from one another. and when they speak its very stiff, almost droning. its most certainly not an animating/funding/studio issue, given that almost all other cybertronians (even in the background) have been personalized one way or another.

so: possibly cold-constructed mechs, mass produced and onlined for the singular task of serving sentinel. think of the eradicons/vehicons from tfp, the shapes are certainly similar enough.

7. in the cave scene after the sentinel/quintesson reveal, D stomps on something, breaking it.

that's his worker's tag. all the miners have them. pictured: D's, OP's, and jazz's. elita and B all have their own tags too.

what i found most interesting though, that directly after the sentinel surface encounter, D crushes his (as said before), B and elita remove theirs (it left a faint indent on B, which begs the question how old he actually is and how long has he been working, exactly?), but OP keeps his tag on.

Sprinter and Team Prime shenanigan's

A lot of things had happened while Team Prime was getting used to their new team member, Sprinter.

Not only was their alt mode a bit… peculiar, but the amount of energy they always seemed to be stocked on.

Bumblebee and Prowl seemed like the only bots able to keep up with them.

But even then, Sprinter seemed to be literally, ‘one step ahead’.

Bumblebee and Prowl panting at a stop. Bumblebee: “Di-Did you see- where- oh primus- they went?” Prowl just weakly shakes his helm before the two go their separate ways to find their teammate. Meanwhile with Sari and Sprinter… Sprinter is sitting for once on the top of a tall building watching Sari eat her burger. Sari: “Thanks for getting me out of Tutor bots lessons today.” Sprinter: “Well, you did say it was torture, and there’s no way I’m letting my friends get tortured!” Sari slowly realizes the misunderstanding. Sari: “I meant that—” Sprinter stands up and stretches a bit. Sari: “Sprinter?” Sprinter: “I’m gonna run over that bot so fast he won’t know what hit him!” Sari: “No!”

Sprinter seemed to have a sense of justice when it came to the care of their new friends.

It was only fair.

They helped them get used to Detroit, it was only right to help them when they needed help.

Sprinter, to a degree, understands that they are much more energetic than the others and should take it down a notch, to not hurt anyone.

As much as they love going fast, they love their friends more.

Going out of the way to defend them, when necessary, even if they don’t think it is.

Sentinel digging a digit into Optimus’s chassis. Sentinel: “So help me Optimus, if I every see your crusty paintjob—” Sentinel spots two narrowed optics in th shadows staring at him. And audible growl is heard. Sentinel: “What is that?” Sprinter, in their hound form slowly walks to Optimus side, optics never leaving Sentinel. Sprinter: “Stop touching my friend.” Sentinel: “Are you giving me orders?” Sprinter: “A warning. Stop making my friend feel bad.” Optimus: “Sentinel—” Sentinel crouches down mockingly and roughly pokes their snout. Sentinel: “Or whaaAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!” Sprinter’s jaw is locked on his servo as the other Prime tries to shake them off. Sentinel: “GET THEM OFF ME!!!!!” Optimus doesn’t know if he wants to laugh or cry at that moment, but he lets Sprinter get a few dents in before helping his other Prime.

They have been banned from entering the Elite Guard’s ship.

Sprinter doesn’t care.

They’d bite Sentinel again if they had the chance.

Jazz and the Jettwins have new respect for the bot.

Blurr, as much as he gets back to the ship to do his reports, always takes a little break to meet up with his fellow speedster.

The only one on Earth, and probably Cybertron, to understand him talking without giving him a blank stare or asking him to repeat.

Fanzone has given up on attempting to give them a speeding ticket.

Mainly because he found out that Sprinter has a collage of all their past tickets and is making it in his image.

He still doesn’t know whether to be flattered or furious.

…He will occasionally give them one so they could continue.

When it comes to Con’s, Sprinter loves to mess with them using their speed and alt mode.

With their speed, Sprinter easily climb buildings to kick the Con’s straight into their chins.

It also helps in evacuating humans and their teammates out of blast areas.

Sprinter spots Bulkhead in the line of fire. Sprinter: “Bulkhead!” They sprint over to him and using both their pedes they land a kick to his side. The impact is fast enough to move them both out of the blast area. Bulkhead rubs his side a bit. Bulkhead: “Thanks for the help and all… but did you need to kick that hard? I feel your pedes on my fender.” Sprinter gives an embarrassed smile before racing over to help the others.

With their alt mode, they love to confuse the Con’s.

It always confuses them.

Sometimes, on good days, the Cons will try to figure out what their alt mode is and get distracted.

They don’t even have to move!

Sprinter in their alt mode is sitting by the water fountain at the park. Lugnut: “I will crush you Autobot—wait—Blitzwing!” The triple changer comes over. Blitzwing: “What iz—urgh their back.” Lugnut: “Do you have the list?” Blitzwing sighs. Blitzwing: “Lugnut we do not have time for this!” The triple changer still passes the list of space animals to Lugnut. Team Prime gets to the park just in time to see the two Con’s retreating and an unscathed Sprinter lounging in a shady area. Sprinter opens their optics at their team’s surprised faces. Sprinter: “Lugnut had to take Blitzwing back to the base after suffering a glitch to the processor. It looked like a bad one too.”

It is Blackarachnia posting hours, and I do love me some disabled spidors of which are documented by some cool bug facts’s blog. wink wink. :]

Who do you think would be the best partner for a human? It's already hard to date in different cultures, the sheer amount of communication that must go into an alien relationship must surely be astonishing. Different cultures, upbringing and general bodily functions. Rung does immediately come to mind, but what do you think?

I like to think that humans have a "relationship" culture that is very different from cybertronian. What view do you have on that front?

There are a couple different bots that I think would be good partners for a human, based on a whole variety of factors like general demeanor, willingness to learn and communicate, and level of curiosity and comfort with humans. Rung is and excellent choice, but others that immediately spring to mind include G1 Hound, Jazz and Beachcomber, TFA Prowl and Bumblebee, IDW Swerve and Misfire, RID 2015 Fixit, Knightverse Bumblebee and Mirage, and Skybound Optimus Prime (from what little we've gotten to see of him so far!) All of these bots exhibit a curiosity and fascination with humans and Earth that would definitely help them get a foot in the door when it comes to making friends, and though they all have different demeanors they all veer on the side of more gentle and respectful of the average human than a lot of other Cybertronians.

As for my thoughts on Cybertron's relationship culture, it tends to shift depending on the continuity being discussed. Transformers Animated strikes me as a very harsh society where public displays of affection would be frowned upon. Meanwhile IDW (especially MTMTE) seems much more open and comfortable with the concepts of both platonic and romantic love, as well as couples. Save for the comic series we don't really get much of a peek into the relationship cultures of different iterations of Cybertron, so the few thoughts I do have are purely speculative based on what glimpses of Cybertron's atmosphere we get.

Some spicy TFA Starbee

Bumblebee paced back and fourth in his hab letting out a frustrated growl as he glared daggers at his locked door. Bee had entered his heat rather early and now he was locked in his own hab until the coding had worn off but it didn't stop Bumblebee feeling antsy about it. The yellow mini wanted nothing more than to pounce on the closest bot sink his small fangs into their neck and spend the rest of his heat wrapped in their embrace until he was sure he was carrying sparklings.

Letting out a snarl Bee threw himself at his berth hoping to make a comfortable nest to sulk in until he was sure Ratchet or Optimus would be ready to let him out of his room. He wasn't sure how long he sat wrapped in his many blankets until he heard his door slowly opening, Bee narrowed his optics as he felt a growl rise in his intake as he was convinced it would be Ratchet to hound him again about not keeping better track of his heat cycles. Instead he felt his anger dissolve when a cube of energon was pushed through the tiny crack of the door, being careful Bumblebee slowly got up and stalked towards the cube poking it with his digit before flinching when he heard a small chuckle coming from the other side. The yellow mini growled again only stopping when the guest stepped through the tiny door with a smirk, Starscream then chuckled lightly as he slowly picked up the cube of energon before handing it to the hissy yellow mech. "Sorry I'm late my little bug, but sneaking into your base at such hours is rather difficult"

Bumblebee felt all his anger and frustration disappear the moment he set his optics on the seeker, forgetting about the cube of fuel or any sense of self-control Bee found himself leaping onto Starscream's chest before climbing the taller mech so he can kiss his face. The seeker let out a surprised squeak before smiling into the hungry kiss while wrapping one large clawed servo around Bee's frame before pulling away with his own smirk. "Eager aren't we?" Starscream narrowed his red optics as he slowly walked towards the berth.

"Please, Star I'm melting here!" Bee whined as he dug his servo into the seeker's seems trying to pull the larger mech down into another kiss with little luck. "I-I need you, I don't want you keep teasing me so please Star just-" The yellow mech's begging was cut off by a sharp gasp as the seeker plucked sensitive wires in between Bee's hip joints before giving a gentle nip on his neck.

"As you wish my dear little auto-bot~" Starscream purred as he carefully placed the smaller mech on his back on the soft berth. With a hungry smirk he dragged a single claw down Bee's frame before leaning in for another hungry kiss, this time Star felt his lips being bitten and nipped at by little fangs followed by a huffy glare from Bumblebee. "Well, What do you want me to do my little bug? I am at your command~" The seeker purred as he flicked his wings in a teasing manner.

Bumblebee's optics darkened with hunger as he felt his frame grow hot with want and need. "I-I want to carry your sparklings, I want to feel your frame smother mine as you hold me...so p-please" Bee swallowed as he felt Starscream lean in closer until he was mere inches away from his face. Bee then felt sharp fangs carefully sink into his neck as his face grew hot and warm as he breathed in the seekers scent before letting out a sharp gasp as claws carefully dug into the seems and wires of his plating. Starscream then pulled away licking away the tiny pin-pricks of energon from his fangs before giving a lustful gaze "As you wish my dear, When we are done here you'll have your sparklings and you'll be the most beautiful Carrier on this mud-ball of a planet"

A few weeks later Bumblebee was happily purring away in his hab as he carefully cradled his now swollen tanks as he nibbled away at his energon cubes in the safety of his nest. Meanwhile Ratchet was grumbling holding Optimus back who already scolded half of the team trying to find the one responsible for sparking up his adopted son. This was going to be one long carrying cycle for poor Ratchet and Optimus...oh dear.

Not sure how down you are for human on bot action, but I’ve been rotating the idea of an autobot getting Fixated on a human friend’s chest and then, of course, breastmilk, and being So mortified and embarrassed about it but also being unable to help themself, they’re just so soft and warm looking! Maybe human milk is sweeter than cybertronian or something, And some humans don’t even need to be pregnant to lactate, so maybe they find out their human friend has been pumping because of something like that and steal a bag once in a while, feeling incredibly guilty while they hide in their habsuite drinking as much of it as their tanks can manage, imaging they’re actually getting to nuzzle up to the human’s chest for real and pawing at their valve the whole time, maybe crying a bit out of embarrassment. Maybe the human Knows already because they noticed the missing bags disappear whenever a certain mech comes by, and eventually just outright offers to help the bot out with their urges more directly :). I think swerve would be an obvious choice for this sort of situation, or maybe g1 hound, even skids or tfa prowl or some other mech that’s canonically already into humans?

hmm i'm not really that big on human/transformer content but we've been in a weird mood lately with the silas discussion so i'm certainly thinking this is fun. More bots should be into titties.
