I feel like they originally wanted to give Medic a regular baby but then realized they couldn't set a maniacal mad scientist in charge of a human baby in good conscience, so they went with the baboon

it makes me giggle when people genuinely try to make any of the tf2 mercenaries ''uber toxic abusive manipulators because they kill people" or smth.
bestie they are 80s saturday morning cartoon villains at worst. treating their actions with any kind of gravity is like trying to make skeletor into a serious character.
the thing that flies over literally everybody's heads is that tf2 is, at its core, an over the top absurd ''dark'' slapstick comedy game (and i say dark very loosely because i do not know the exact term for ultraviolence but make it funny). did valve "woobify" heavy when they gave him a pretty princess cosmetic. did they "woobify" the mercs by making it an option to have them wear banana hats during the game. you are supposed to laugh at everything the mercs do, not take them this seriously or analyze them this deeply.
"why did medic put spy's head in the fridge'' because it's funny. ''why did he turn a criminal into a sentient pumpkin'' because it's funny. ''why did he make cheavy explode with baboon babies'' because it's funny.
yes they do get into fights with each other but not in an ''angsty'' or "toxic" way but in a ''cartoon brawl with a big ball of smoke hanging over them'' way. like the most abusive they would get is hitting each other over the head with cartoonishly large frying pans and setting up looney tunes traps for each other. they can be silly goofy guys who love and care for eachother and they can also kill people. let me show you something called nuance.

TF2 Thought of the Day
Headcanon? Yes.
Character(s)? Medic and Heavy, mentions of Heavy’s family.
Long or Short? Long with Science.
You're free to use any thoughts of mine in any form of media you make.
Thought
So I thought about it and decided to do a bit of easy science to figure out the hair and eye color of a HeavyMedic child. If Medic can put a baboon uterus in TFC Heavy then he can find a way to make himself pregnant.
Here we go;
Starting with the eyes is easy, they both have blue eyes and studies have shown that two blue-eyed parents will have a blue eyed baby. That was too easy for me though, so I’m saying that Heavy’s sisters and mother have brown eyes, while his father has the recessive blue eyes. Everyone still following? Good! Let’s get our punnet square out now!
Blue is a recessive trait, so we’ll label them “rr,” and brown will be “RR.” I’m also adding in the fact that blue and brown eyed parents can make a child with green eyes, so let’s just assume that maybe by some chance this HeavyMedic baby will get brown eyes from Heavy’s family tree. “Rr,” in this case, will be green eyes or the chance that the baby will have brown eyes with the blue recessive trait.
So! With all that info, here is our punnet square.
Got all that? Good. We’re moving on, share your notes if someone missed it.
Next is hair, which will be a bit difficult since.. Heavy is bald, so we’ll be going back to his family. Yana and their mother has a sort of dirty blonde hair while Bronislava and Zhanna have dark brown hair. Medic obviously has black hair.
Brown is a recessive trait when compared to black, so black is “MM” and brown is “mm.” “Mm” will be the chance that the HeavyMedic baby will be a dirty blonde or have black hair with the brown recessive trait.
Here is what 5 minutes of my life I’ll never get back leads us to.
In conclusion! Use whatever combination you want from my research.
For example, your HeavyMedic baby could have green eyes and black hair while another person’s HeavyMedic baby could have blue eyes and dirty blonde hair! Enjoy making your children and I’m very excited to see them all.
I will be stalking you. I will know.

literally the only argument people ever give for medic being ''abusive'' is that they claim he ''unconsensually'' put the uber hearts into their teammates. like i knew people on tf2 twitter were dumb but this is dire. none of the experiments he does on them are unconsensual, that's literally mandatory in their jobs. also the way they call people who get upset about abuse hcs ''stupid sensitive little babies who need to get over it'' like holy shit. do you not realize that those topics are incredibly triggering and that people generally do not want to read about their favorite characters being abusive. basic empathy is a concept that is foreign to the average xitter user it seems.
Yeah...
I can see a case maybe being made with the classic team, as they 100% didn't know the baboon uteri were put in them, but they also (or at least CHeavy) seemed to be suuuuch cunts toward him so I can't blame him at all for it.
But a one-off thing towards people who have been arseholes to you isn't indicative of abuse? At worst it's like. Red flag material. At best it's entirely neutral especially if this was done because they were constantly such shitcunts to him.

you have probably been asked this before and if so I am dumb and stupid but why do you play tf2? what introduced you to the game
i'm chill with answering it again
alright so, there used to be(or still is, no idea) a channel called ethgoesboom back in like 2017ish, who basically did roleplay lets plays where he pretended to be FNAF characters playing various games like fnaf fangames or anything that was popular at the time really(like i am bread). do note this was WAY before ucn where they actually got canon voices
anyways, one day, he made a video where he pretended to be multiple fnaf characters playing tf2(i'm pretty sure freddy was playing engie), and we watched it and went "oh this looks fun!", and we made a steam account that has been lost to time and downloaded it on our mom's laptop.
it took a bit to download, but we eventually got on and queued up for a match, and i'm like 90% sure we picked spy but we didn't do anything because the voice chat scared us so much that we closed the game and deleted it, and then went and watched markiplier or something
now this story is gonna take a quick timeskip to 2020, where we are on youtube, and we spy a comic dub staring who we now know as medic, and we watch it. it was this video, and we ended up confused why this strange vaugely german man had a baby baboon and was going to kill it for its organs. we forgot about it and kept scrolling
one year later, in 2021, we were bored on steam and decided to check for any good free games. we see TF2 high on the charts, and we remember we heard it was a pretty good game, so we downloaded it and we've been hooked since

I was deep in the prophetic Joan of arc visions (maladaptive daydreaming) and I had a vision of a next-gen tf2 game but two of the new mercenaries were descendants of the previous
One was Soldier and Zhanna’s kid and the other was just the baboon baby Medic pulled out of TFC Heavy. (Both grown up obviously)
Which if you subscribe to HeavyMedic as husbands that would make those two cousins can you imagine
