i have come up with a new, extremely self indulgent AU for tfrb:

basically what happens is each individual character in tfp accidentally finds out about the rescue bots, whether it's through a ground bridge mishap, an intel scouting mission, even a situation where they get rescued.

this starts out with mostly autobots, because i assume griffin rock is either in autobot territory or a neutral/unclaimed area (or it's off the grid and nobody knows about it) (i think the last one is the funniest), but the decepticons also learn about them eventually.

now. here's where the funny/self indulgent part begins. none of them know anyone else knows. the autobots AND decepticons all assume they're the only one who knows about these bots, and that the team has been trying to live a normal, calm life away from the war.

team prime doesn't know optimus and bumblebee already know, and the decepticons don't know that these guys have connections to the war. and of course, the rescue bots always manage to worm their way into every. single. bot's. spark. all of them individually grow to care about the rescue bots, and independently decide to keep them secret. nobody wants their new friends to get hurt!

anyways shenanigans of course ensue because it's very hard to keep a previously extinct group a secret from all of your friends, and since everybody knows but doesn't know everybody knows it becomes a lot of ridiculous sneaking around and badly lying to everyone.

the rescue bots are SUPER confused by all these bots who keep showing up, but they pretty much just assume that someone spilled their secret and everyone after are all showing up to meet them. eventually i think they would start to figure everything out, but they don't fully comprehend that everyone has been trying to hide them from each other until some big reveal happens.

the way this pans out is probably the end of the war honestly, because again; no one wants these guys to get hurt, physically or emotionally, and if that means having a ceasefire so be it.

I wish people did more with the veterans, nevermind the fact that Kreacher doesnt have the external trait and that Lucky Guy has never met Game 4, but AUGHGGHGH

They have the messiest relationship imaginable but I swear they care for each other guys I promise (delusional). In a manor like oletus, where youre trapped in a routine of decode and survive over and over again, i think theyd be able to form at least. A civil relationship.

It only approaches friendly territory when Lucky appears- a complete outsider from their game, which means no biases. He helps them get their shit together until they can all be in a room without wishing bodily harm upon each other 🙏

The problem is that. Its not. Obvious.

They still fight, argue, send each other dirty glances, etc etc. No one knows that Freddy likes to keep stock of all of Emily's supplies in the infirmary so she can rest. No one knows that Emma lets Kreacher pick off a few flowers out of her garden whenever his urge to snatch something gets the best of him.

No one knows that Freddy lets Kreacher into his room to rest on his sofa because its just that comfy. No one knows that Kreacher is the one snitching to Emily about whoever's injured or sick. No one knows that Freddy and Emily keep each other company at the dead of night when everything gets too much

But Lucky knows. And the veterans are grateful that he does.

Heatwave carries so much respect for Chief Burns and we see that respect form and grow and it all leads up to this point where Heatwave is essentially like “we all care about this family so much, we’d do anything for you guys�� and then THEY DO and then we see how upset Cody is and how upset KADE is ohhh don’t get me STARTEDD because I will never stop

It’s the culmination of all the soft moments, all of the rescues and hardships the entire Burns family (including the bots you cowards they ARE family, it’s not “the Burns and the bots” it’s just the Burns at this point so when I say Burns I mean THE HUMAN BURNS AND THE BOTS CAN ANYONE HEAR MEE) has led up to his moment of loyalty and respect and straight up love and it’s so plain for anyone to see it.

And that’s why Frankie putting the unedited video into the time capsule is so important, not just for the future residents of Griffin Rock to see the kind of good people the Burns are, but for the whole world to see the character of the family. It’s also a declaration that these guys, the Bots, are important to us and our family lineage. We have loved them and they have loved us since day one, that’s why we think it’s important to have that notion in the future as well, yk what I mean?

The Burns and the Greenes family are SO IMPORTANT TO ME and the Bots are just as much family as any other human in that fold, and they were prepared and entirely willing to sacrifice themselves for that family, no matter the protest

The NILs Loan Scheme is a government funded, no interest loan scheme for people on low incomes, but this leaves me wondering exactly who tf can qualify for their loans. Because it seems like if you have any symptoms of poverty it's a no.

I applied because I need the clutch replaced in my van, which I live in. It's lucky that I actually CAN afford the cost myself (due to living in a van & not participating in Australia's increasingly ridiculous housing market). I thankfully can afford such an expense these days & was just looking for a responsible financial buffer, just in case. But if this had happened to me a few years ago when I first became homeless and was far less financially stable, then my next living situation wouldn't be "affordable housing" it would be a fucking tent.

Anyway, the backwards ass state of a GOVERNMENT FUNDED welfare scheme refusing to assist those who need welfare the most because they don't want to encourage homelessness or whatever the dumb fuck? Just really rustled my jimmies tbh. Just screams "yet another govt welfare scheme that's actually just about handing out money to fake charities & not helping the poor". Just had the funniest possible AU idea: Natsuyuu warrior cats AU where Natsume is a kittypet living with the Fujiwaras who keeps getting hassled by Natori and Matoba to join the clan cats in the area, because he's the child of Reiko, a stray who used to challenge everyone, cat or otherwise, to battle, and somehow always won. But Natsume wants none of that and just wants to enjoy his comfy bed and wet food in peace.

I haven't decided what the youkai would be yet, they'd either be the Spirits of other animals/cats that Natsume can connect with thru starclan bullshit, or just non cat animals that Reiko fought with. The second one is funnier but the first probably fits better with canon? But also I remember like nothing abt the warrior cats starclan Lore lol

Matoba is obviously the head of shadowclan (I considered changing the name but tbh shadow clan just works best either way) a strong but ruthless clan of cats that live in the area that banded together to defend against wild animals in the area. Maybe there's a bear or something in the area that has beef with them and keeps trying to attack the clan leader, and gave Matoba a scar on his eye?

Natori is the "head" of windclan, a clan that consists of him, sasago, urihime and hiiragi. Windclan used to be a big clan in the area, but got chased out by Shadowclan and retreated to being strays/kittypets. Natori is the child of a former windclan cat and a bougie purebreed showcat, and was never able to make it as a show animal because of a weird lizard shaped birthmark on his leg, so ran away to bring back windclan himself.

Natsume's highschool friends are just other kittypets in the neighbourhood he hangs out with. Tanuma is the cat of the local monk (he found him as a kitten under his porch), Taki and her brother are the pet cats of a local wealthy family, and her (cat) father was always interested in clan cats but could never meet them. Nishimura and Kitamoto are just average kittypets bought from a pet store.

Of course their names would all be different, I haven't decided on all of them but I think Natsume would be named 'Nutmeg', Tanuma would be 'Tuna' and Reiko would be 'Ghost' or 'the ghost'. Natori would call himself like. Sparklefur or something.

i think im gonna speak for a few (or a lot of) people when i say that TL;DR the wolverine x deadpool movie that came out this summer is what pulled me back into comics and i COULD leave it there but i will go into excruciating and unnecessary detail instead because i love an origin story and i love oversharing.

ironically (and probably commonly), growing up i was more of an avengers kid. Kinda. Loosely <- binge watched the cartoons and movies and read copious amounts of comics and fics and i am hoarding fanart in my old dresser as we speak ok 'loosely' is a modest lie.

embarrassingly i remember getting into discus cause of captain america LMAO so yeah needless to say i was a Humble Fan- me joining my school's comic class/club didnt help either (shoutout to my teach from that she was the realest one out there for. A Multitude of reasons). she definitely is was inspires me to even draw still and make comics and i often think bout the tips i learned from her class tbh she was great

back to the movies t and comics tho, i got into em because my brother would offer to take me and that's how we'd hang out (i rarely saw movies in theaters and i even more rarely went anywhere as a teenager. still kinda like that today tbh ooops) and yk. it just snowballed after that.

my brother and i have always liked comics- he just more than me for a while (though he still very much loves comics and As We Know From My Posts we still talk about them whenever i see him To An Exhausting Degree)

INCREDIBLY sparse. like diabolically so so i didnt have too much expectations (aside from the fact i vaguely liked deadpool beforehand).

tbh i dont know why my bro never took me to see any of the x-men movies. it's not like he doesn't Also like x-men (90% sure nightcrawler's his favorite but my brother will be caught dead saying he has absolute favorites like that)- he owns a bitch load of deadpool comics/omnibus sets too (of which ive read over the years and reread this year) but Shrug moving on

i'm pretty sure what dragged me into cherik specifically was the fact i saw a clip of The Famous ending to 92 where erik's aghast at the notion jean even has to question his love for charles. i think that was what officially had me refocus my lens on them: not a single poolverine thought after that LOL (all the cherik posting i saw on twitter definitely helped too but that was the nail in the coffin for any other interests i had: i was locked into cherik and x-men in general now)

that clip specifically, i was surprised at the fact they- frequently even- have the x-men franchise say erik loves charles and vice versa so bluntly. even if it's not meant to be romantic, i fear im just a fan of how casually the word's thrown around with them two and i got tender bout it all. Then Yk. i just live for the drama. the hilarity even. the sincerity .... they make me sick if i think of them too long so im gonna end it here

before i go tho ironically enough, the first x-men issue i owned was This one (story a this is that while stuck in some wacko dimension charles accidentally gets himself trapped in logan's mind while utilizing his astral projection. if you were curious). pretty sure i got it for free with another comic set i got years ago since our old comic shop loved to do that, but it's poetic aint it. maybe ill doodle something referencing it..

i should probably look into finishing this arc someday im Dummy curious to even know how it started and how it ends.....
