In the absence of an official English version, this translation is intended to help those who can’t read the material in the original language. The pictures I have included in this post do not show full pages.

On the translation: this time I’m aiming for a more direct, “Japanese-sounding” translation to share the mood of the content more as it is. This will probably cause some sentences to appear weird in English.

On Tezuka’s style of speech: his word choices and sentence structures are mostly polite and serious.

Injuries, seizing the nationals… Tezuka Kunimitsu overcame numerous challenges that waited for him and seized glory. But he is not a man who would be satisfied with that. From now on too, I want to pay attention to the steep path of him who moved over to Germany.

The German representatives’ strained atmosphere connects to rapid development (*1)

Tezuka-senshu (*2) becoming a German representative was a shock. Did you not have worries about this decision?

If I said no, it would be a lie. However, as to what is important for me as someone aiming to become a professional, I judged it to be fighting as a German representative and based my decision on that.

Specifically, the currently important thing for Tezuka-senshu is…?

Most of all, it is actual experience of fighting at a higher level. At the German training centre, I have the fortunate chance to rally with top pros like Volk-senshu. Even in practice, they are always making hypotheses as to which shot they should hit, what kind of a play they should make in any kind of match circumstances when they are standing on the court. Having put myself in such a strained atmosphere, I can truly feel my level of experience rising rapidly.

Any bewilderment at facing your former comrades…?

Whoever will become my opponent will not be a problem. But, at first, I thought I was feeling sorry. However, at the time of fighting Japan in the exhibition match, I came to realise my heart was throbbing about competing against them. But just fighting as sworn friends, it is not to elevate ourselves. Rather, by putting a net in-between and confronting each other, the light can come from a new angle and hasten growth - that is what I believe right now.

Then, what is Tezuka-senshu’s current objective or dream?

Upon seizing the world, to hold up the flag of Germany that showed in me, a foreigner. If the opponent for that match were to be Japan, there would not be higher joy.

In a well-ordered and non-negligent environment, pleasant days go on

Have you already grown accustomed to life in Germany?

Yes. Everything proceeds very systematically, so in that sense, it sometimes feels like it is actually even more pleasant than in Japan.

What things for example are like that?

Everyone is already gathered around 15 minutes before the set meeting time. The notion of ecology is growing, so most customers carry eco bags for their shopping, and the separation of waste is enforced thoroughly. Everything is done logically, and it’s an environment without negligence.

I see. It suits the serious Tezuka-senshu perfectly. Then, how do you spend your days off?

Touring antiquarian bookshops is currently my biggest enjoyment. From Goethe to Ende, I have been able to acquire several original texts that I couldn’t in Japan. Also, when time and money allow, I try to go to classical concerts.

What about the German language?

The German language too is a very systematic and logical language. There are very few exceptions, as long as one memorises the basic grammar and idioms, it is quite effective to use. Of course I still lack study, and there are many points where I lack experience, but words are not the only means of communication. Rather, sometimes it is facial expressions that speak more eloquently.

Bedroom of the room I’m staying in in Germany There’s only bare minimums like the bed and desk that were part of the furnishings. But I’m thankful that letters and daily necessities have been delivered from Japan. Overall, I like the things made from wood and seeing the townscape from the window.

*2 選手, senshu: player, athlete. I chose to leave this as it is since the interviewer uses it all the time as an honorific, and couldn’t figure out a natural expression in English.

NON-SPOILER REVIEW

Overall: This was so good!! I am so glad that I went!! It was so good. It was absolutely amazing. It's difficult to explain but the story just entirely suited my taste and it was well acted and the songs were all great and I enjoyed pretty much all the characters which is unusual for me xD And the best part about the stage was definitely the bench interactions!! The bench interactions were amazing!! I couldn't stop watching them! I also loved how dark this stage was compared to others and previous ones. I felt like the atmosphere was really heavy for this one, or that I was just so completely engrossed in the whole thing this time around. And I got to see Hiroki in action again which was great! Also I was looknig forward to seeing this new Seigaku Gen - or at least went in with a clear mind and no pre-bias - and I enjoyed their performances so much -- they even got me crying a few times! This. Was. Great! Rating: 8.5/10

This'll be split into the two parts of the play and then some extras or whatever.

PART ONE

Some of the Higawaris that I remember were mostly from Higa: FAS: 太ってる あなたにオススメ シェイプアップ F&D: fitness and diet All were aimed at Tanishi obviously xD

As I said before, I couldn't take my eyes of the bench. Especially Jiro, he really caught my eyes during this stage. I spent more time watching what he, and the rest of Hyoutei were doing, rather than what was happening in the main plot and story xD Some things that Jiro did that caught my eye were:

☆Jiro falling backwards while sat on the steps and falling asleep onto Taki xD ☆Jiro dancing during Gakuto's pair song. ☆Jiro being so supportive of his other members and just never stopping!

Other things I spotted from other members on the benches were: ☆Eiji giving Taka a racket and then when it was taken away from Taka just after, Eiji tried to hide from him but Taka stormed over and held onto his shoulders and Eiji just stood in shock like 'omg what is he going to do to me!!' it was really cute and funny.

Speaking of Seigaku: I really like this new Seigaku already! Which is good!! Inui‘s actor can sing really well and he sounded so great! I like this new Seigaku so much that I actually felt sympathy for the Seigaku members; Tezuka's solo was so good and so dark!!! I was crying for Tezuka during his match!! That NEVER happens with me! And Fuji’s solo at the end of part one (Heavy Rain) was so good!!! He sounded great! Also when Fuji and Atobe were dancing together!!!! I ship it!!! They looked so good together! It was great! Also, Momo’s actor is good but his voice feels a bit too low that it’s kinda suffering during the songs he sings.

The day I went, there was only one mistake and the entire audience died of laughter for a good minute which ruined the moment but it was funny: Just after his match when he returned the the bench, Gakuto slipped down the stairs a little and because it was this silent moment between Tezuka and Kabaji, everyone heard and everyone's attention went there. The audience died laughing. All of Hyoutei kept it together during this moment but poor Eiji’s actor was looking over at what happened and he cracked up laughing too. But kudos to pretty much everyone keeping it together and acting completely normal. But for some reasons all the audience just found it so amusing!

Other comments:

☆I love how DARK this stage it! For some reason Tenimyu always seemed like this happy, clappy, fun and games stage but for some reason I found this one SO dark and I absolutely loved it!! I really do enjoy dark plays.

☆Higa are the very first to enter the stage and straight away they are hilarious. They come in from the sides on stupid boats and come down either aisle. Once they get out of their tiny boats (by the way, one is being dragged behind by a rope and ring xD) and on shore, they started rapping. HIGA DID RAPPING AGAIN! It was great! And what was even better is that they got the entire audience to clap along to their song! Which I really appreciated!

☆The first three opening school songs were so strong and so good!! I enjoyed every single one; Higa then Seigaku then Hyoutei. They were really powerful and so enjoyable to watch!

PART TWO

During the breaks between the two arts, I ran out to buy Kaido and Jiro's bromides. I got about 30 minutes into part one before I was like 'duh goddammit I love Kaido! I should've picked them up straight away!' and then damn Jiro came along and my brain went 'shit this kid is too cute! I must support him and get his bromides!' Jiro has always been cute but I've always thought no one would ever out-do was Tomorun did as Jiro but damn Tamura is so cute as Jiro! He's so bouncy and hyper and so funny. Speaking of Jiro; more Jiro adorableness:

☆Jiro sleeping between Oshitari's legs. ☆When Jiro fell asleep on Otori and Atobe, and Atobe lifted Jiro's hand (that was touching his leg) in disgust and pushed it off himself xD ☆Jiro making fun of Eishiro Buchou was absolutely hilarious! He just kept going because the audience were dying of laughter. And then some members were like 'Oi.. OI!' and trying to get him back to the bench.

☆During the end of one of their appearances, Rin hit Buchou on the head but when Buchou turned around, Rin had already slipped past and gone off stage, so he thought Kai did it, so he grabbed Kai by his shirt collar and dragged him off stage. Kai's toes were like tiptoes as he was dragged off stage xD ☆There was another moment when the (I think) Buchou said something and Tanishi got really angry and went to attack him but then Shiranui grabbed Tanishi's arm and pulled him back so that Shiranui could attack; Tanishi was super shocked by the strength Shiranui had and the audience cracked up laughing from the twist of events that Shiranui was the strong one in the group. Luckily Aragaki stopped Shiranui from attacking and got him to back off xD ☆Towards the end of the stage, Higa had to break a watermelon with their eyes closed, but they all failed so Eishiro said he would show them how it's done, but instead of a watermelong, Shiranui (I think) pretended to be it and when Buchou went to hit the watermelon, he caught Buchou’s hand and of course Buchou was dumbfounded xD

Lets talk about the giant final match shall we because the entire final match was amazing!

☆Nichika’s pronunciation with all the English lines was really good!! ☆When Echizen and Atobe were having an evil laugh showdown, Atobe's laugh was so gooood!! HOMG... ☆When Echizen threw his cap and Kaido caught it oh so perfectly! I was so impressed with how flawlessly he caught it! ☆Now can we talk a little about Hiroki’s butt? Because damn it was so damn obvious in those shorts!! He has such a good butt! Even from 3rd balcony, I could tell he fit nice and tightly into those shorts...  ☆And ohhhmyyyygoooddd can we talk about the amount of hip rolls he did during this damn stage and in different songs and stuff!!! Oh my... ☆Huge kudos to both the boys during the final match because even watching it, I as getting exhausted for them! It goes on for so long and they're constantly running around the stage and Hiroki is doing all his ballet jumps the entire time and stuff! Damn Hiroki must have been exhausted after that!  ☆The final match between Echizen and Atobe was so intense and so much dancing and performance. Just damn. I absolutely loved this entire last segment of the stage. So intense, so well choreographed, so well performance and presented. It was phenomenal.

Other comments:

☆Ohhhhh I teared up during the Golden Pair song and I really, really don't like Golden Pair in general, but even they got me in the feels this night!! Which just shows already how much better this gen is! ☆I really liked all the doubles duet song. And all the songs in general I really got into and enjoyed! ☆Just before the final song, the ending is with all the school's songs remixed and it was great! ☆BUT the encore song and dance is silly in my opinion. It was ridiculous. ☆During the EnCore, Kai came to our side!! I have had the best luck with him seriously... ☆During the EnCore song, Echizen was slacking off to the right side of the theatre, and when Tezuka saw him and Echizen got worried and began to move away from him. ☆Kaido made it back on stage just girigiri right at the end of the EnCore song xD ☆I realised today that I like Tenimyu when it’s dark. Like this stage is dark as fuck. But one thing did ruin it, and it was infact Echizen's song. It was a bit too happy clappy and just ruined the dark mood in my opinion xD just keep it ALL dark!! xD ☆Now I know this is going to sound hypocritical but I appreciate that the very end of stage ended on a funny note. Echizen came on stage with a razor and some classical music started playing and Echizen started doing ballet moves towards Atobe but then obviously Taki comes on stage and says he'll sacrifice his hair so begs Echizen not to shave Atobe's xD I think we needed something like this AT the end to just bring us all out of the story and back to reality a bit.

The Prince of Tennis New 3DCG Film's Full Trailer Shows New Level of Tennis Battle

    The official website for Ryoma! Sinsei Gekijyoban Tennis no Ouji-sama / Ryoma! Rebirth The Prince of Tennis: The Movie, the upcoming all-new 3DCG feature film based on Takeshi Konomi's The Prince of Tennis manga series, has posted a 60-second full trailer to introduce a tennis battle between the protagonist, Ryoma Echizen, and a mysterious woman named Emerald (CV: Romi Park), as well as an impressive dance scene featuring the members of the Seishun Academy Tennis Club.

      The franchise's first full 3DCG film tells an original story about what happened in the three months between the first manga The Prince of Tennis and its sequel The New Prince of Tennis. Its story takes place in the past in America. Three days after the finals of the National Tournament, the protagonist Ryoma Echizen goes on a tennis training trip to America by himself. When he arrives there, he encounters his classmate Sakuno Ryuzaki, who is also visiting the country on a family trip, is being tangled up with gang members. When the ball Ryoma throws to save her collides with another ball thrown by a mysterious person in a wheelchair, time and space get distorted, and the two are traveled back to the time when Ryoma's father was known as Samurai Nanjiro in America.

  The film will be released in two different editions, "Decide" and "Glory." The "Decide" edition features the appearance of Kunimitsu Tezuka and Seiichi Yukimura. Meanwhile, Keigo Atobe and Kuranosuke Shiraishi will be featured in the "Glory" edition.

  Ahead of its theatrical release in Japan on September 3, the film's preview screening event is set to be held in Tokyo on August 21. The Prince of Tennis manga author, Takeshi Konomi, Junko Minagawa, who plays Ryoma, and the director, Hiroshi Kamishina, will appear on stage. The event will also be open to the general public by lottery. Shin Tenipuri Tezuka Birthday Event (VR) - This is my song for you

So.. I went to Tezuka Birthday event last Saturday in Kanagawa VR Theatre. You know what, Takeshi Konomi-sensei was also there and that was the first time I saw him in person.

So I was basically watching an empty stage. Hahahaha just kidding. I went there without any expectation but it turned out good. Tezuka VR was created beautifully, you can event see the shadow and even to the small gestures like fingers movement and so on. 

It was a bit pricy 5000¥ for 30 minutes concert, but yeah.. It’s a good experience. 

When I went in, I need to buy a drink, so I get this event special drink 

which came with special sticker. And while waiting for the show to begin, the theatre plays Tezuka’s song “Mondschein” instrumental. 

The show starts with slide show of Tezuka and then he appeared in Germany Team Jersey and sang the song “Never Surrender”. People around me was like “Tezuka itta!!!” Hahaha yeah, it seems that he was really there. 

After the 1st song is an MC part when he said the lightstick reminds him of birthday candle. So he told us to turn off the stick when he blew it and made a wish. His wish is so that our wish might be come true.. *awww how sweet of you Tezuka buchou”. 

Then he sang the second song “Next Door” and followed the 2nd MC part. This is the most interesting part. 

First he said recently his grandfather sent him this photo:

And he explained this photo was taken at 5y.o while he did a wrong dance movement during school festival. Because of this his grandfather kinda tease(?) him like “Kunimitsu, whaat are you doing here” and he mimicked how his grandfather scold him. 

And then more flashback photos came to the screen. From Tezuka age 0 (2 photos), 3 years old (Tezuka was so cute), 5 years old (running in the undokai), 6 years old (doing judo, back-throwing the opponent), and 7 years old when he got his first tennis racket. 

And then he talked about his past. 

He was 2329grams when he was born. His name was given from his grandfather “この国を背負う光となるように”. It’s literally means the light that carry (or probably support) the country.. *someone pls help me my English is so terrible*

He said his personality was always quit, and he learnt judo from grandfather to train his body and his dad recommend him to do tennis to train his mental. lol (what a strong family you have there, buchou). That’s how he met tennis and become obsessed with it. 

Then message from Oishi saying “Happy birthday” came to his phone (Buchou is using smartphone.. something like iPhone) and Oishi forward the messages from all the regular. Let me summarize their message: 

Kawamura: Happy bday and it’s a bit chilly in Germany, so please take care (Tezuka respond: Kawamura’s kindness always bring peace to the tennis club) 

Momo: Thank you for the sausage you bring last time and since Kaido became captain our relationship is getting better (Tezuka: Please be on good term and take care of the club) 

Kaido: This guy write with proper Japanese (honorifics and stuffs) it’s a long messages saying take care of your health and Tezuka’s big responsibility as a captain is slowing getting to him. (Tezuka was smiling and nodding like a parent lol. And said “Kaido, you’re weakness is complemented by him” - I think he referred to Momo). 

Fuji: Happy birthday (with fancy fonts). Hope this will be a special year for you. Btw, the kitten we talked in the the telephone yesterday, we found the owner! (Tezuka: smiled gently and said Fuji, we never had serious match before). 

LOL TEZUKA BUCHOU WAS IN THE PHONE WITH FUJI THE DAY BEFORE.. OMG PERFECT PAIR ALERT!!

Eiji: His message is basically all kaomoji. (Tezuka - I think he had a hard time reading this message lol) 

Inui: He was asking nonsense data like north longitude / south longitude and something about Germany I don’t remember which was dismissed quickly by Tezuka (Tezuka: Sorry Inui, I am busy ) 

Echizen: I don’t know what to say. Happy birthday. One day, I’ll surpass you. 俺もまだまだっすけどね。(Tezuka: I’ll wait you in the world stage). 

And he thanked everyone from the email and said “From now on, not only happy time, but there’s also hardship and challenge. so let’s not let our guard down”

The concert then was closed with the last song: DECIDE.

Because I just watched 4CC and I need to (obviously) push real life onto anime characters: THERE IS A REASON FOR THE CUT HERE

Seishun skating club, aka Seigaku:

There is no Dance seniors in Seigaku. Some people hope the Juniors would move up this year like their singles counterparts, but they’re...welll...

More info because I suck:

0. All of the main coaches had been active skaters at one point- Sumire took part in two Olympics during her age and won one bronze; Tezuka had been a star that is considered pushing the sport to higher limits, at least until he didn’t pushed his body past its limit. He still pushes the sport, but from the sidelines now. Oishi had the most versatile career, changing to Pairs and then to dance once it turned out an injury he thought nothing of turned out to pull him back in singles career, then let his partner in Pair go to allow her more evolution with younger (and stronger) partner(it was him who proposed side-by side axel though). He haven’t got the Dance career, as he was just a training partner to his little sister while she searched for a partner with less age gap (there’s almost seven years between her and Shuuichiro).

1. Sumire works with all skaters coming to the club, but lets Tezuka and Oishi chose and focus on skaters they think might develop under their wings, the only exception being Echizen, who she pushed to Tezuka ever since the brat moved to Juniors from Novice. 

2. This makes things look weird, because so far the only skater Tezuka accepted to train had been Fuji, earning him the name Tensai. Right now Fuji is trained by both Tezuka and Oishi. Oishi is the one who rides with him to competitions most often, though people noticed it’s Kawamura who goes with him EVERY TIME...

3.Oishi thought he had it hard when he started training Kikumaru Eiji- he had been proven otherwise. Still, the trio gets along pretty nicely,and the fact that Eiji and Fuji are relatively even all rounders, they tend to pull each other up a lot.

4. Fuji’s birthday are in the second half of the season, Eiji’s are relatively at the beginning, which means they compete for at least first half as the peers, but nobody really pays attention to that, except for Eiji. The fact that age gap between skaters and their coaches (well, most of them) is less than five years is noticed, though.

5. Oishi, being the only coach with Pairs and Dance experience, trains reps for both disciplines, though it seems it wasn’t his idea to put Osakada&Horio team together...

6. There is a suspection it’s Inui who keeps the selection of Kaidoh partners so hard, though it seems Oishi Rika might just pass it, considering how cute she is,and how most people know how Kaidoh is a secret softie (which might cause problem during twists...)

7.Eiji is considered to have the most balance between jumps power and flexibility on the field, and his spins are one of the highlights of his programs, though he prefers jumps (yeah, he’s the show off kid). The legendary video of him doing a hyperextended Biellman during the training got viral thanks to one Fuji Shuuske, and it got a ‘not so bad for a man’ comments from a lot of female skaters.

8. Fuji on the other hand is one of those flawless artists who get more Rippons and Tanos (aka hands above the head during jump) than they do the spins without travelling. Oh and people love his expressions on-ice- his another nickname is Ice Angel. Some discuss that it’s too ladylike though...until they see his quads.

9. Echizen is hoped to finish the troika of Seigaku, as Eiji and Fuji have been trading gold and silver in every competition they take part in together for some time now. The reason is, while most people admits Fuji at his fullest is unreachable, he rarely gives his all, doing just enough to get above the others, and Eiji is...well, hard to predict even on his good day-during the competition he’s more of an enigma than a human. This means, if Fuji overcalculate, he ends up with silver. He almost always gets revenge on the next competition.

10. Eiji has a tendency to flip his skates guards around his hand before handing them over to Oishi. Apparently, Oishi has learned how to read from the twirl how fired up redhead is. Inui is still working on how he does that, Tezuka has given up. Ryuuzaki just laugh when it’s brought up in conversation.

11. Talks about nepotism sometimes hit skaters, especially Sakuno. Since everybody knows how damn hard the girl is fighting for her position, Ann will personally kick your ass if you say something about Sakuno...of course, she’ll be representing all of the Seigaku feels, not only hers!

12. Speaking of An, she moved over from the training base under her brother to switch partners (Ibu & Kamio both are bitter about it af, but it was Tachibanas decision so they can’t protest). Even after she left she gets regular updates on what Fudoumine club is up to. She is actually the bonding element between Fudoumine and Seigaku, her older brother also being one of the more famous coaches. (Tachibana Kippei and Oishi often bond over their fear for their little sisters being chucked into air like that)

13. Nobody knows who the hell paired Tomoka and Horio up, especially as dance partners, since their characters (supposedly) makes them more suitable for Pairs, but Oishi don’t want to know how letting Horio throw Tomoka would end.

14. If Eiji doesn’t make at least one program during the season, either short, long or exhibition to a cheerful, fun pop/rock music, consider him sick- or a loser in the bet against Fuji. It happened before.

15. Nobody lets Oishi chose their music for themselves- he either overreacts to the importance of new duty, or chose something reeeeally weird (Fuji pulled out his sea waves exhibition somehow, but- again- it’s Fuji)

16. On the other hand, everybody constantly lets Fuji and Kawamua chose music/ color palette for their costumes. They’re known as misters Good Tastes of Seigaku.

17. The only accident that put a question mark on their judgement was one of the galas where Fuji’s costume looked surprisingly like salmon nigiri with a lot of wasabi...he still pulled it off, and apparently, it was his own suggestion.

18.Karupin is a living mascot of Ryoma, and thus he gets a ton of himalayan mascots from his fans, pretty much like Eiji gets teddy bears of all kind, and Fuji gets the weirdest stuff girls can think of. He even keeps the wasabi sushi mascot from one of his competitions.

Oishi-Kikumaru Pair:

There’s a bit of complicated situation at the beginning of both Eiji’s and Oishi Rika’s careers, the complication being why Oishi and Eiji actually met. Rika was originally a dance skater without a partner suitable for competing for her age(Oishi being only the training partner to keep the synchronization and lift skills thaining in her regime), and Eiji started skating as a pair partner to his older sister. After said sister retired due to her body not managing the pressure (a fact for which Eiji is secretly blaming himself), he is suggested to transfer to dance while his body (and stamina) develops enough to be able to freely support his partner; it’s where he meets Oishi, at that moment searching for a dance partner for his sister.

 Rika is actually interested, since she wanted to try Pair competition for some time, but knew her brother injury (a wrist) wouldn’t let him pair with her without anxiety of her safety (she’s right), so she jumps at the chance when she is paired with Eiji. After learning, and eventually winning some novice competitions that allow them to move to juniors, it’s Rika who breaks their pairing up, feeling the raising anxiety of her partner (and his growing affection for her brother, nii-sama, why do you have to steal all the good guys) and making Eiji admit to himself that he wants to show off. 

She and her brother disagree but still respect Eiji’s reason of Him “Rather skating where he can hurt only himself and not his lil sis” (Rika is getting a lot of little sister-zoned, lol). Rika paired with few others skaters until she wasn’t offered by Ryuuzaki to come to Seigaku. Thanks to her lithe frame (she never got past 160cm) and accuracy on par with her brother’s, she has a big chance of becoming Kaidoh’s partner and moving to Seniors- provided she won’t get too fired up by rumors of nepotism in Seigaku. She’s as overprotective of her older brother as he is of her.

Surprisingly, she gets along with Ryoma and (of all people) Osakada-Horio pair.

Ship theories, just because:

1.Contrary to the public belief, Ann and Momoshiro don’t date. They’re best buds, okay, but Ann prefers brunets...or...brunettes... the fact Momo doesn’t mind boys either makes it easier for them to bond.

2. Inui bases qualification of Kaidoh’s partners on how he behaves around them. Since Rika is a December baby born year after Kaidoh, he treats her like his little sister (a lot of approval from Oishi) rather than partner, but Inui still worries if this is enough to show a good performance in well, pairs. Then again, it means...

3. Pillar Pair won’t exist unless Ryoma turns eighteen, or so Tezuka says. Fuji is more than glad to help his kouhai change his coach’s mind, especially since this means he doesn’t have to worry about newcomer stealing HIS therapist...

4. Golden Pair is as fluffy as they always are, though Oishi made it obvious that he won’t let Eiji get into anything serious until he turns twenty- nobody waits for the first half of the season more than Eiji do, especially since one of the galas are planned for his birthday, and he has a great exhibition planned for it, thanks to Fujiko.

5. They are also fluffy until it gets to quad practice, where Eiji whines all the time-and Fuji sometimes join, without whining, tho-since Oishi forbid both of them from trying quad axels, despite both of them being the most consistent edge jumpers in the whole Seigaku. Currently, there is a war going on for the Lutz Fuji is training while Eiji is still on the Loop and Flip. Oishi is as stubborn as his trainees though.

You entered the school’s library in search of the brown-haired male you had come to adore. You found him sitting at one of the tables in the back of the room, reading through one of the library’s many books. “Kunimitsu-kun?”

His brown orbs moved from the pages of the novel to meet your own. He blinked, his face remaining stoic, “What can I do for you, Y/N-san?”

You smiled, lacing your hands behind your back. “I was wondering… would you like to go dancing with me tonight?”

He blinked, brown orbs flashing with surprise before returning to their natural emotionless state, “Sure.”

Tezuka met you that night on the tennis courts, the moon shining brightly in the clear sky above. You had set a small radio near the fence, a soft melody playing from the speakers. You smiled brightly when Tezuka approached you and you let your hand slip into Tezuka’s, fingers lacing together. His other arm wrapped gently around your waist while yours wrapped around his back.

It was just the two of you on the tennis courts, music playing softly to give you a beat to sway to. You smiled in content up at the taller male, happy that he had agreed to do such a thing with you.

Tezuka let a small smile come to his lips, one he only felt comfortable showing to you. It was a rare thing to see and it made your heart soar with happiness.

Meanwhile…

A deep, almost evil chuckle echoed in a nearby bush, but the two of you were too wrapped up in each other to notice. Inui, who’s glasses were glinting in the light of the streetlamp, hid inside of the thick bush, camcorder in hand and pointed at the two of you on the tennis courts. Inui had done something that no one else had managed to do; catch Tezuka smiling on camera.

“So, Y/N-chan, you’re in love with Tezuka, right? You should tell him~!”

Fuji’s words echoed through your head as you walked down the hall of Seishun Gakuen. The bell for lunch had just rung but you felt too nervous and had too much on your mind to bother eating anything.

It was fairly obvious that you had a rather large crush on Seigaku’s captain, but you didn’t think that anyone knew that you were in love with him. Was Fuji the only one who knew? Or could Tezuka see it, as well?

Being lost in your thoughts, you failed to notice the approaching set of stairs. Your foot slipped off the top step and you ended up falling. You closed your eyes, a gasp escaping your lips as you awaited the impact but it didn’t come. Slowly, you peeled your eyes open.

You were being held in the arms of none other than Tezuka Kunimitsu. He was looking down at you, brown orbs shadowed with worry. After all, you weren’t a clumsy person so falling down the stairs wasn’t exactly a common thing for you. It’s no wonder why he was so worried.

“T-Thank you, Kunimitsu-kun~!” you smiled happily despite the bright pink blush on your warm cheeks. Your arms wrapped tightly around his neck and you reached up, kissing his cheek in gratitude.

You were amazed that he was able to catch you so easily.

He nodded, that same small smile coming to his lips. “I’ll always be here to catch you when you fall, Y/N-san.”

You smiled in content as you walked at Tezuka’s side, hand brushing against his occasionally. To say that you were surprised when Tezuka called you up, asking if you wanted to go on a walk with him would be an understatement. Tezuka wasn’t really the type to do those types of things. However, here you were, walking through the park together per Tezuka’s request.

“Ahh, it’s kind of hot today.” you mused, looking up at the sky and using the back of your hand to shield the blinding sun.

Tezuka glanced at you before gently grabbing your hand, pulling you in a different direction than you were previously walking. You blinked but followed without hesitation. He led you to the ice cream parlor.

“It will help cool you off,” he said simply.

Your grip on his hand tightened, eyes shining as a cheerful smile graced your lips. You followed him into the parlor, sighing in content at the cool air inside, and sat down by the window while Tezuka ordered some ice cream for you both.

“Thank you.” you accepted the cone, giving it a lick. You felt so happy to be sharing your favorite treat with your favorite person. Tezuka seemed happy, as well, which made your day even brighter. That seemed to happen a lot when Tezuka was around; your world would always get brighter.

You had received many gifts on your birthday from friends and classmates alike, and even people you hadn’t even spoken to before. You were surprised to realize just how popular you were at Seishun Gakuen. Of course, you being the kind and friendly person you were, most everyone tended to like you, so it was no surprise to your friends that you were so popular.

You had received so many gifts that you were running out of room to store them all and had to borrow Fuji and Eiji’s lockers, as well. Each gift you got made you feel very happy but there was also a slight scent of disappointment, as well.

The day was almost over, with only about twenty minutes left before school ended. More than anything, you had hoped to receive something from Tezuka, as well, even if it was just a ‘happy birthday’ but so far, you hadn’t seen him at all. It was kind of cruel that you didn’t get the one thing you wanted most on your birthday, but you were still thankful.

You were about to step out of the school gate to go home where your parents were waiting with a freshly baked birthday cake. Your name being called stopped you in your tracks. You turned around in surprise, eyes locking with those stoic brown ones that you had come to love so much. Tezuka stood in front of you with his arms crossed.

“Kunimitsu-kun! Where have you been? I haven’t seen you all day!” you cocked your head to the side, blinking up at him.

“I was thinking about what to give you,” he responded, voice calm and quiet so that only you could hear. You didn’t miss the passing students watching the two of you curiously. “I finally made my decision.”

“Oh?” you grinned, hands folded behind your back. “What’d you decide?”

“This,.” he grabbed your shoulders gently, bringing his lips down onto yours. As soon as your lips connected, you could feel the butterflies erupt in your stomach. Like magic, it took hold of you and refused to let go. You felt high like you were on cloud nine. “Happy birthday, Y/N.”

You smiled, arms wrapping around his neck and pulling him into another kiss, which he immediately responded to. And there you stood, wrapped up in each other’s arms, sharing your second kiss that would spark a million.

Best birthday gift ever.
