Drawtober 2023: Solar Sneeze

I recall the prompt for this at the event I was working on alongside Drawtober was a solar flare or solar storm I think. I don't have personifications of the solar system yet, so I thought Solaris would be the closest thing. Different gods may appear different depending on sickness. With Solaris, since he has a big ball of fire-like hair, I imagine his hair gets smokier-looking to indicate that he's not feeling great. Also tends to sneeze fire. The sneezing fire part is pretty difficult to deal with. Especially as he'll burn tissues. Solaris, Penelope Browne- Me (@circifox)

Je repense souvent au visage d'Alberto Giacometti qui, avec l'âge, ressemblait de plus en plus à ses propres scupltures, son visage prenait les traits de ses dessins, ses rides se creusaient comme s'il avait lui même taillé dedans, il finit par ne faire plus qu'un avec son oeuvre entière.

Le dessin, la gravure, la sculpture, la peinture et bien d'autres médiums d'aujourdhui et de demain nous permettent de nous écrire, de nous inscrire dans ce cours passage sur terre.

Ce que j'aime par dessus tout c'est d'avoir un prolongement "succint" de mon regard sur ce qui m'entoure, peu importe le sujet, du moment que la contemplation, l'interrogation, la surprise s'y trouvent.

De ce prolongement souvent photographique peut alors naître autre chose, prendre une dimension plus personnelle, me faire revenir à ce regard initial , me remmémorer cet instant et transpirer de tout mon moi, l'user, l'effacer pour mieux l'écrire peut-être, le sculpter dans le support que j'aurai choisi, tenter de le rendre miens, de l'adopter tel qu'on apprends à marcher, prendre le temps de, alors que l'instant était tellement fugace finalement.

Un jour j'y arriverai, j'arriverai à saisir ce qui me relie autant à ce que je perçois de la réalité et que chacun perçoit à sa manière.

Minor Diamond Lineup

I redesigned Coffee Diamond and Snow Diamond a while ago but didn't post it (I may have had issues with lineart but can't remember), and I decided to do a height lineup? It may be different to what I have established in drawings before since I'm trying to get better at working out my Diamonds and my Gems in general. In my #gratitudejournal today I’ve done a mini #collage using a bit of a page from a local #freemagazine called [EVOLVER] and a small strip of #bird #washitape, a cut out #vintage #owl from a #napkin and a small piece of #texturedpaper from a shoe box. Just little things lying around as we pack. I wanted to keep a small part of these magazines with me so thought this was a good way to do so. #journaldecoration #insidemynotebook
