Arlaen and the Raven Queen, making a choice

#my art #unprepared casters #tightrope #The background IS the Raven Queen's hair #it blends into the nothing-void space they're in #Arlaen's horn is the same color as her cutie mark cause its her divinity #she may or may not have some tiny baby wings hidden under that scarf too but who knows. maybe she put it on there as a way to not know eith #anyway. raven wings as big ole wings and some raven-sized raven wings instead of ears. for the vibes #ALSO. BONE MASK. TOOK ME FOREVER.#horse skulls have a WEIRD nose and it took me so long to figure out how to a) do it and b) do it in a stylized way that worked with mlp #my version of it at least #i did some fun stuff with like texturing too. wanted to it to feel like there were threads and a weave in the air. which i kinda did.#very abstractly #ALSO edited my stripey brush so i think ill be using that more #ok enough tags time to turn off my brain

the laptop i made this on has a desaturated screen & looking at this on my phone for the first time jumpscared me

also i was gonna composite the images in a grid but then realized i didn't want to do that because you couldn't see detail at a glance

also also the runoff tunnel caps of with matsys_regressiontest/background.vmt, this has been the case for as long as the tunnel has been present

Oh my god what brushes do you use for your shading?? Your Kazuma is really good!!!

I use Jing Sketech’s procreate brush pack! The specific one I used for the shading was the sketch form brush! It’s got a lot of nice texture to it

It’s also got this cool natural gradient to it that helps with shading shadows very well

#I honestly just started using that brush last week and it’s been a game changer #I felt that I was getting colors down too painterly and I didn’t vibe with it much #then I realized my love for pencil texture and found those brushes that I’ve had downloaded for forever

actually autodesk sketchbook solos your fave mobile drawing app

#ibis you can fuck around more and procreate is procreate (why are you having sex ? hmmm)#but sketchbook will forever hold a special place in my heart....#doesnt have as many features but its like . vaguely traditionalesque #some brushes have nice textures.... honestly once you use a brush long enough you just get attached to it #although theres something to be said about the Lack of features like wheres clipping mask and layer grouping and custom brushes (paywalled #wtv first drawing app i ever used . attachment x90249231
