At least Tarn's a tank and can help feeding the little ones when the nurse sleeps or works.

Unfortunately no. In the donor clause au, Tarn's a Seekerkin mech. Any kind of personal refineries or shared fueling systems will be incompatible with any frame he has.

Nickel had beat that into his head before the impulse to get a botch job from a catalog took root. Tarn simply gets a thing for your own wells and becomes a walking encyclopedia on various personal refineries and fueling systems.

Unless it's bottle feeding, then yes. Luckily, the nurse has fantastic production. There's a nice surplus in the medbay and Tarn's quarters. He gets the bottle for the newsparks can suckle. Thankfully, Seekerkin sparklings develop a fueling rhythm within the clutch, so only one or two (particular to the split-sparks) need to be fed at a time and around the clock.

Seekerkin femmes have unique refineries of pure protoform. The D.J.D. got a good look at yours and are highly curious because it's not the silicone bags that needs to be emptied out before packed away like they're used to.

Helex and Tesarus were in a room with their own out and went, "Oh yeah, those are different. Let's ask Nickel."

Nickel understands what they're asking about. It's the same quirk that's that was an issue in Prion among their own brand of Seekerkin. Because on Prion, everyone had multiple alt-modes. It came with its own challenges to get their frames and coding in smooth order. Depending on the mecha's spark, some alt-mode unique characteristics need to be suppressed or taken out to work with others.

Because Nickel enjoys her submarine alt-mode, she doesn't have personal refineries. She has an external fueling system that's similar to a convoy where the access points are hidden along her torso and the cables can be pulled to a certain distance where it's tapped into her internal hold.

hc + 🤝: Choosing Ghostspire since you asked. Tarn's connection with Ghost is interesting. They have something of a "situationship", as much as Ghost irks him and tries to earn his ire, Tarn doesn't see the value in killing him. He's similar to Overlord in that regard. He knows that Ghost tries to piss him off because he has a lack of self preservation. Killing him would only give Ghost what he wants, and Tarn would lose a source of entertainment.

hc + 🧼: Tarn has fantastic hygiene! Because his ability doesn't require him to get his hands dirty, he very rarely has energon on him. Though he did make the mistake of standing slightly behind Tesarus during one of their hunts. He got out of earshot of his team just in time to purge his tanks before returning to the ship and scrubbing his frame until he needed a new wax coating.

He normally smells of vetiver scented finish, with a hint of cedar wood muskiness.

hc + 🚬: Recently, Tarn managed to kick his little transformation habit. Only because he no longer has a supply of them. The withdrawl period was agonizing. He picked up a drinking habit to cope but he's been getting better about that, finding the need to drink replaced with drinking for pleasure once again.

the headcanons kind of turned more into guidelines for me for when i decide to write an actual story lmfao

DJD finding an unaligned fembot

When they first pick up the signal, they don’t think much of it.

The whole reason they go is because the next bot on the list is far away, and they’re bored as shit

They eventually get to an old (like Vos kind of old) ship and determine that as the source of the signal, but no one is inside

Everyone kind of goes their own ways to find the force of the blip but keeps in contact with one another to avoid an ambush

Tes eventually finds you. You’re hooked up to a stasis pod, and calls the others over.

Tes wakes you up totally by accident. He got bored and starting fiddling with shit and pressing buttons

Then you fall out of the pod and scare the shit out of him

I’m absolutely STUCK to the headcanon that tes has a really high pitched scream and gets mocked relentlessly by the others about it

Anyway, the DJD get there just in time to hear that lovely sound /sar

Most of them just kind of stare as you slowly come to, groaning while you pick yourself up

They whisper amongst themselves as you do so, and stop as soon as you ask who they are

Tarn stutters as he introduces himself and his team, purely out of shock that you don’t know who they are.

He doesn’t yet mention what they do, he understands enough to tread carefully from here on out

Helex (being Helex) attempts to intimidate you (or starts) before being reprimanded by Nickel

Nickel insists they get you to the Peaceful Tyranny. You’re clearly woozy, you can barely stand, now’s not the time to interrogate the poor thing

Tarn and Nickel try to be at least decent. Tarn is a firm believer that respect and kindness should always be shown as a good first impression.

This applies even towards Autobots. The only time this doesn’t apply is towards traitors, though the rest of the DJD are reluctant in following these methods

Anyway, Tarn demands the rest of the DJD to at least try to show some hospitality toward you while he and Nickel figure out wtf is going on

The DJD are listening in while Tarn and Nickel converse with you

Buttering you up with simple questions like what’s your designation, where are you from, do you know where you are, stuff like that

Before finally asking your faction

The silence is almost deafening when you ask what an autobot or deception is.

The process of explaining the war to you is very delicate.

They all understand if you’re told everything that happened all at once, you’ll run screaming from them.

So they explain it in a way similar to how Cyclonus explained it to Tailgate, though Nickel ensures it stays at least somewhat neutral

As neutral it’s gonna get when being explained by a bunch of bots who literally worship Megatron like a god

When you ask what their role is, the best you’re gonna get is “punishing traitors”. They can’t tell you everything just yet

But just that gives you the gist of what they do, leaving you to imagine what they aren’t telling you

hc: tfa djd are a musical band (their manager is nickel.) highly acclaimed among the decepticons, they consider themselves the rival musical artists of Rosanna. (also if soundwave ever met them they would offer him a place in the band but soundwave turns them down.)

The DJD are still soldiers mind you but just because they occasionally maim and murder doesn’t mean they can’t appreciate the arts. Besides, music serves as amazing propaganda.

The names of their songs are all things like “For the Glory of the Decepticon Cause”, “Towards Peace (and Bloody Battle)” and “Fusion Cannon Funk”. Their most famous hit is a 7 minute ballad called “When Megatron Calls”.

Listening to their music on Cybertron is considered a crime and punishable by jail time but illegal streaming sites keep uploading all their newest albums so it’s hard to keep bots from listening to them.

Tarn is of course the vocalist, Kaon shreds the electric guitar, Vos plays the synth, Helex is on the base and Tesarus is the drummer. The Pet (while not an official band member) serves as the band mascot. Nickel is their reluctant manager while still serving as their medic.

Vos

💜 He's surprisingly clingy in his sleep as well, so he likes that the two of you can wake up entwined with each other.

💜 He does actually think it's rather cute how you grip him as tight as you can, you're so tiny and light compared even to him.

💜 He likes to lay there and rest his chin on the top of your head.

💜 He's one that likes to tease you about it, even though he clings just as much as you do in his sleep.

Kaon

♥️ He adores it! He loves waking up to you clinging to his arm or chassis with the pet curled up on the the opposite side of you, it makes his morning.

♥️ He's very into PDA so he's not embarrassed to talk about how cute you were clinging to him this morning with the others (much to their annoyance).

♥️ He hates having to pry you off or wake you up because he wants to stay there and cuddle.

♥️ If he lets you sleep he'll kiss your forehead or cheek before leaving the room.

Helex

💙 He thinks it's cute, especially if you're laying on top of him and clinging to one of his smaller arms.

💙 He can easily remove you but he prefers to lay there for a few minutes and play with your hair, Tarn doesn't have to know he's awake yet.

💙 Once he does have to leave though he'll gently lay you on the bed/pull the cover over you and kiss your lips before leaving.

💙 He also likes to tease you a little bit over it with "Can't get enough of me huh?", usually while wrapping an arm around you.

Tesarus

💛 He's a little surprised at first, but comes to love how you cling to him, he's just not used to affection as much as the others is all.

💛 He gets kinda bummed out at having to eventually move you because he wants to lay there and soak up your affection like a sponge.

💛 He also teases you, but not to the extent of Vos or Helex, his teasing is super playful.

💛 He likes to touch your nose to where his should be before getting up, he also kisses the top of your head too.

How bout the rest of the DJD and Pharma for the cryptidformers?

Tarn is some sort of siren, changing form at will to walk upon land. He hides his face behind a hand crafted mask that strikes fear into all who see it, but the most terrifying part of this monster isn’t his mask or his body, it’s the voice. A voice that has persuaded many, many sailors to leap off of their own ship, or human to throw themselves from craggy cliffs into the rocks below.

The siren has help from all places. A team of sorts. One of those is Helex. Rough and brutish, a huge monster that looks like an amalgamation of a million other creatures. Two pairs of arms, a glowing, burning hole in his torso that looks like it’s lined with magma, a long, serpentine tongue that looks a little too demonic to belong to anything real. 

Another mech with multiple arms and a penchant for terrifying locals is Tesarus. He’s built to be wide, tall, and overall just gigantic. He lacks a face in the traditional sense, his whole body looking like some sort of oilslick given shape. Where his eyes should be is a deep red ‘X’, the only part of him that isn’t shiny and wet-looking. The few who have escaped and lived to tell the tale describe him as a beast with an insatiable appetite, taking his victims and lowering them slowly into a gaping whole in his stomach. Nobody knows what happens to them.

Vos is hard to find and impossible to catch. Tarn’s only follower who isn’t big and outright menacing, he sticks to the shadows. The only evidence left behind of him are the mangled corpses with faces resembling a week old roadkill or raw ground meat. Vos is the only one of the bunch who nobody can put a face to.

Nickel is the least intimidating of the group. She’s smaller than the rest of them by far, and she seems to be some sort of water elemental given a more solid shape. Her feet don’t touch the ground, opting to hover just over it as she glides around her team, never truly getting herself involved in the killing. There are questions floating about on whether or not she is actually part of the team at all.

The SG Decepticon Justice Division are a far cry from their normal verse counters, rescuing those in dire need as opposed to being a vicious assassination squad. They especially aim to rescue and relocate those pushed out of their homes by the Autobots, genocide, or the War in general. They’re a gang of misfits who make exceptional choices for their line of work.

Tarn runs the show, recovering from old trauma from the Autobots he knew pre-War and the Functionists. He’s not exactly stable, but he holds firm the Decepticon belief of doing good.

Helex acts as both a tank-like soldier and a rescue bot, using his smelter (powered down, of course) to take in and shield anyone smaller than him they need to get out of places fast.

Tesarus similarly does this, but also seeks out and destroys enemy technology.

Kaon is still their communications officer and relays information back to Megatron.

Vos (formerly Dominus Ambus) is a defector from the Autobots who had a change of heart seeing the work the DJD did. He uses his small and fast turbofox altmode to get behind enemy lines and seek out people who need rescuing. He’s one of the newest members, having joined alongside Nickel.

Forestock is still the team scientist, studying alien planets to help the non-Cybertronians the team rescue with their homesickness and regain a sense of normalcy.

Nickel was the only bot the DJD managed to rescue from Prion, being too late to save the rest of the Mini-Cons there from the Consortia. They set her down to let her try to return to normal life, but returned for her after they considered she was (presumably) the last of her kind. Nickel joined them as their medic with a firm belief that what happened to Prion should never happen to anybody else, and now she’s the Head Medic of the Decepticon movement as a whole.))

What are your headcanons for the DJD stumbling upon an Autobot fem while they were on their way to the next target on the list? Her signal got mixed up with the target in question and the group found themselves on the abandoned planet she happened to be residing in. Her confusion and lack of fear at the sight of the group leads to them realizing she has no idea who they are. Judging by her frame, she’s at the very least millions of years old yet she doesn’t have a single scratch on her.

She never even saw combat as on her very first mission, her less than stellar squad thought she was a weakling that would get in their way so they knocked her out, put her in stasis and then left her to die on the planet they were currently on. She woke up on her own a short time before the DJD arrived and quickly figured out how long she was gone for. Although she believed they were going to kill her, she remained rather upbeat and positive and went as far as requesting that her death be quick and painless.

As they have no actual reason to kill her at that moment, they instead take her back to their ship as a prisoner, but no harm is ever done to her so she’s become more of an honored guest. Over time she found herself befriending the group as they’d always have engaging conversations of just about anything. Just as it appears that some feelings began to develop things soon went downhill. As the DJD was away on their next mission, her old squadmates tracked her down and fatally injured her. When the DJD find her, in her last moments she tells them who were the ones responsible. The fate of those cowardly Autobots have been sealed.

Helex [MTMTE]

- Started off unhappy with another unfulfilled quest but couldn't blame someone who wasn't even on the list, to begin with - But really, he ended up with what he considered a best friend - Even as a prisoner, he would visit you consistently to discuss his troubles and affairs - You were one of the best at helping him write his reports just a smidge better, so Tarn was impressed - Helex was there to protect you for everything, and on the day it happened, he felt himself to blame - He was supposed to protect you - He was supposed to keep you happy - He was supposed to keep you safe - Every time he is in stasis it's all he thinks about, like a pang of creeping guilt he could never shake off - The day he got his hands on those vile traitors, not even the esteemed cannibal took a bite, considering them to be the most disgusting thing known to man - He didn't stop at them; Helex finds any excuse to harm every bot that knew of what happened to you

Kaon [MTMTE]

- Kaon was all in for a new prisoner; he enjoyed having someone new to torment with new toys - But you were careless, joyful, you were so happy in a place reeking of war - Kaon buried his past just for a chance at the normalcy you provided - It was no secret that of all the DJD, Kaon was the one to be planning on making you his conjunx - When you perished, your innermost energon was all he was left with, in a vile around his neck - For weeks after your death, he was left a fizzling source of electricity - It only stopped the moment he crushed the head of the same person who snuffed your spark, allowing the rest of the crew that removed you for the other members - And for once, the sadist was unable to smile during the demise - He keeps them alive still in a cold prison room, practically scrap - Kaon refuses to be done torturing them until they drown in their own tears - Not that he gives them enough energon to leak any

Tarn [MTMTE]

- Tarn considered it against his very few morals to kill someone who was in no way at fault aside from their very own mistake - Instead, he insisted on taking you prisoner, should they ever need the assistance - It was at his demands that you were kept alive so long, and even more so his when you became a sort of honorary member of their group - There wasn't much closeness between the two of you, not until you indulged in his poetic and musical taste - You were the first to critique his writing and probably the last - Your death was a sight, to say the least; he bit his glossa so hard it had begun to bleed, holding back any comments - As the leader, he stood back and watched as each member mourned in their respective ways - Even as he watched them smear the murderer's blood across fields of which they once rested - There was something so poetic about trust, love, and the falling apart of it all - Still, Tarn considers you his new inspiration to move forwards - When they visited Necroworld, he ended up finding your flower and plastering it to the inside of his mask

Tesarus [MTMTE]

- Comparative to a father that said he doesn't want a dog but gets one and then cherishes the dog? - His relationship with you was like that, and eventually, you ended up a bit of a mentor to him - But it was his arms that you died in, your energon staining his servos - It felt like no matter how hard he or nickel scrubbed, he would still find flakes of it left on his armour - Whether it was actually yours or someone from a long while back, no one dared to even suggest - Tesarus would be unstoppable the moment he grabs onto a single one of them - He would not let a drop of their energon near his servos and never would again - He got his second pair of arms after you perished, and has never used his true ones for anything considered 'dirty work'

Vos [MTMTE]

- Vos didn't like anyone, really, so it was no surprise when he would try to intimidate you, constantly - When someone else wasn't there 'babying' you, he was there saying all kinds of rude things - He even learnt some words in Neocybex just to insult you - But really, you were always poking and prodding back - Eventually, he only saw it as a contest as to who could say the worst thing, always managing to one-up you - You always used to blame it on him having more experience - But now, with you gone, he was starting to regret never having the chance to say something nice - Did you hate him? Did you only ever fear him? How many times had he ruined your day for his own pleasure? - You didn't deserve what he gave you, nor did you deserve to be killed so cruelly - Normally being the first to jump in on a kill, Vos stood just slightly behind Tarn as the others tore the enemies apart in their agony - You didn't deserve to die, just like he didn't deserve to kill anyone who hurt you - Especially not when he was no better than them - He kept most of the Neocybex you taught him to himself now

Authors Note - God, I enjoyed writing this way too much! I love romance and platonic work a lot, but some angst and smidges of gore are still some of my fav stuff to get into ALSO I had another ask JUST like this right after it so I kind of meshed them here, it was the one about them being an outlier

Tesarus Headcanons!

Tesarus likes watching cute anime. Lucky Star, K-on, and Quintessential Quintuplets are some of his favorites.

Tesarus wears a visor in the comics because he has trouble keeping eye contact so the visor helps calm his anxiety. 

Tesarus is neurodivergent, and has ADHD! He often stims by fidgeting with his grinder, and has trouble regulating his emotions. 

Tesarus often has lots of energy and nothing to do with it, which leads to him engaging in self-destructive habits like scratching at himself and ignoring his needs. When this happens, Helex or Nickel often stay with him and make sure he gets his energon and self care.

Tesarus often gets sensitive to loud noises, and will go to his room to get away from the source of the noise if he can.

He also tends to come off as cold or insincere when actually he really is engaged and happy in the conversation!

Tesarus or Vos is the first to see your ghost.

Tes gets bored and wanders the ship just looking for something to put his energy into. Usually he gives up and takes a nap

Depending on whether you wanna scare him or make him feel guilty doesn’t matter. He’s freaked the fuck out

The rest of the DJD come running when Tes lets out a high pitched screech

They don’t see anything and they (mostly Helex) relentlessly make fun of Tes

for 1. that fucking scream because what in the pit and 2. he’s scared of a human. a human ghost that doesn’t exist

You go around and pick them out one by one to scare them.

Kaon is especially freaked out. He’s blind and relies on echolocation (i love that this is cannon) when he doesn’t have the pet, and the fact that he can tell where you are scares him.

He can’t see you, can’t touch you, can’t hear you walk or breathe, and he can’t find where you are with echolocation.

The only way he knows you’re there is if the pet goes crazy or you make yourself known

Tarn is either freaking the fuck out or he tries to talk to you while internally freaking out.

Nickel is the one who actually tries to talk to you. Only because she thinks it’s annoying that harmless little you is completely disabling the most feared division in the universe.

When they finally all group up to discuss what’s happening, they all kind of agree they thought humans didn’t have souls.

They think of humans how a human would think of a bug; step on it and move on. Just more intelligent (though not much)

They just hate you, and they let it be known. Tarn is the one that realises you hold the power; being immortal and unharmable and all

Vos is the only one that kind of enjoys this. He doesn’t wanna talk about the noise he made when he saw you in the vents for the first time, but he appreciates a fellow scare artist.

It’s kind of an unspoken truce between the two of you (eventually)

And between you and Tarn. He has no idea what you can truly do and doesn’t want to find out, so he makes it a point to try and stay on your good side.

That doesn’t mean he’s not a little off put, he just not an asshole about it like Helex is.

Helex’s mouth is a trash dump when you’re near him. Every organic slur in the book is thrown at you, whether you know what it means or not.

Tes can’t look you in the eye. Or at you in general. He’s embarrassed by that scream and he can’t stand how awkward it is to have a former victim standing in front of him

DJD as Yandere parents maybe a scenario or as headcannons? Tarn calm you tits your scaring your child.

*You didn’t specify if the “child” was human or not but since I a while ago wrote about the DJD taking care of a sparkling I will write this one as a sparkling too. If you want them taking care of a human then please feel free to request once the askbox is open again!*

The DJD is a… dysfunctional family and even more so when they are yandere and should not be allowed to be with children. Since they are yandere they devote their entire lives to the sparkling. All the devotion they felt for Megatron is now turned towards the child. They are incredibly protective of them and anyone who dares to threaten the child, or even stands a potential threat to it, will be promptly eliminated. They are all different as yanderes and show their obsession and unhealthy love in different ways.

Tarn aims to turn them into the new Megatron and he’s determined to turn his dreams into reality. He starts by changing the sparklings frame frame into a perfect miniature copy of Megatron’s, even changing the color of their optics if they are anything else than red. Then starts the training. It’s cruel and harsh as Tarn won’t take anything less than perfection from them. After all, if they want to lead the decepticons you have to be flawless. He is just as harsh when disciplining them and teaches them everything he knows. Makes them read all of Megatron’s works and memorize them, word for word. Don’t worry if they don’t get it at first, Tarn will get make them get it. He’s got all the time in the world after all.

Kaon is suffocating. He wants to constantly hold the sparkling and spend time with them to the point where being separated from the child causes him immense distress. When they are in his arms he holds them tight, sometimes enough to cause the sparkling minor pain. He always apologizes when the sparkling beeps in distress but he never stops doing it. Constantly gives them tiny smooches on their cheeks, forehead and hands and Kaon loves to hear them laugh. He will do anything, and I mean anything, to keep them happy. If anyone ever causes them to cry or become sad he will not hesitate to either fry them into a crisp or have the pet tear them apart, slowly.

Vos is… odd, to say the least. He loves the sparkling, that’s clear, but he’s so strange when around them. One second he’s hugging them, playing with their tiny fingers, the next he’s holding his claws dangerously close to one of their vital energon veins. He would never hurt him but it fascinates him how easy it would be for him to do it. Just one swipe of his claws, one strong punch or kick, and he could kill them. Just like that. The sparkling is so fragile and he both hates and loves it. He obviously hates it because that makes them an easier target but the way he holds their life in his servos? It makes him feel powerful. In control. And that’s how he likes it.

Helex is usually not that dangerous to be around, even as a yandere. Most of the time he’s actually good company to the sparkling and pretty safe. He is calm and very good at keeping the sparkling happy. But sometimes his true colors show. He is fiercely protective of the sparkling and while everyone in the DJD is, Helex takes it to a new level. He won’t tolerate anyone else than the DJD close to the sparkling and if you look at them for too long he will automatically assume you wish to harm or take them and he will not hesitate to END you. Also spoils the sparkling to no end. Anything they want to have he gives them, even if he’s got to kill a couple of bots to get it. They deserve it after all.

Tesarus have bad influence on the sparkling. He gets easily bored and when he gets bored he takes the sparkling with him to alleviate it. He usually teaches the sparkling how to best torture and kill a bot, showing them how to do it with a live test subject. He always makes sure that the bots vocalizer is ripped out so they can’t scream and accidentally scare the sparkling, that would be no good after all. Then he slowly start to take them apart and when they are just on the brink of death he shows them into the grinding blades in his chest. He makes sure that the sparkling sees every part of it and he hopes they will participate in torture with him in the future. That would be so much fun.

Nickel is the safest of them all. Even though she is yandere she would still treat the sparkling like… well, a sparkling. That means no rust sticks before they have had their energon, scolding them when they do something wrong and strict bedtimes, no buts! She is very strict when it comes to their health and safety though. She gives them weekly medical check ups, more if they have been exposed to anything remotely “dangerous”. The sparkling is only allowed to consume the healthiest energon and she tries to keep their intake of sweets to a minimum. Nickel is very doting and would like to have the sparkling on the ship at all times. The outside world is so dangerous after all.
