Just in case, you know, anyone is interested…
Here’s New York’s statute on terrorism.
The pertinent parts someone may be…y’know possibly wanting to know about…
Are Section 490.05(1), which defines “act of terrorism,” and Section 490.25(1), which sets forth the elements of the “crime of terrorism.” Just to make things clearer, because statutes often are not, murder is a “specified offense” as defined in Section 490.05(3).
You will notice when looking at these sections, that “terrorism,” as defined by New York law, does not require a mass attack, an attack on a government or other public building, etc. Because murder is a specified offense, killing a single person is a sufficient underlying crime. Additionally, the statute does not require intent to coerce a government. That is one possible sufficient intent. Another is an intent to “intimidate or coerce a civilian population.” In other words, a group of people.
However, please remember, while you are thinking about this topic, that charging a person with a crime is not the same as convicting them. The State has the burden to prove every element of every crime alleged against a defendant, who is presumed innocent unless a jury decides the State has met that burden beyond a reasonable doubt. So if, say, someone murders a single person, and is charged with terrorism, the State will need to prove that this person possessed the requisite intent/state of mind associated with terrorism, not just the intent to kill associated with murder.
Just so you are aware.
And now, for people who do not like to click links, here are the provisions I’ve mentioned, below the cut:
Section 490.05(1)—
1. "Act of terrorism":
(a) for purposes of this article means an act or acts constituting a specified offense as defined in subdivision three of this section for which a person may be convicted in the criminal courts of this state pursuant to article twenty of the criminal procedure law, or an act or acts constituting an offense in any other jurisdiction within or outside the territorial boundaries of the United States which contains all of the essential elements of a specified offense, that is intended to:
(i) intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
(ii) influence the policy of a unit of government by intimidation or coercion; or
(iii) affect the conduct of a unit of government by murder, assassination or kidnapping; or
(b) for purposes of subparagraph (xiii) of paragraph (a) of subdivision one of section 125.27 of this chapter means activities that involve a violent act or acts dangerous to human life that are in violation of the criminal laws of this state and are intended to:
(i) intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
(ii) influence the policy of a unit of government by intimidation or coercion; or
(iii) affect the conduct of a unit of government by murder, assassination or kidnapping.
Section 490.25–
1. A person is guilty of a crime of terrorism when, with intent to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, influence the policy of a unit of government by intimidation or coercion, or affect the conduct of a unit of government by murder, assassination or kidnapping, he or she commits a specified offense.

✍️ George Orwell wrote 70 years ago that modern political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable.
When it comes to the media’s coverage of Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine, unfortunately there is a lot of modern political language masquerading as journalism aimed to perpetuate the status quo.
The language is designed to rob the oppressed of their very struggle for dignity.
Having worked with many of these news organizations, I know this pattern all too well, a pattern that dates back decades, and that aims to dehumanize Palestinians and absolve Israel of any accountability for the countless crimes they commit on a daily basis.
These news organizations intentionally obfuscate facts and erase fundamental context to shield Israel from facing consequences for the crimes of collective punishment, ethnic-cleansing, apartheid and occupation, protecting the racist and rogue zionist state.
Their complicity is as obscene as it is obvious and I can assure you that they know exactly what they are doing.

city spirits dpxdc
may i suggest a recommendation for anyone in love with the city spirit concepts to check out, gotham academy, olive silverlock, and the dc villain known as calamity. i feel it could feed all of your creative flames.
for those who aren't into digging up the comics, gotham academy has several videos on youtube where people basicly read them to you.
but i feel with those three twigs via wiki, dpxdc fans who love amity and gotham as city spirits with tension especially can start a bonfire.

he New York Times faced widespread criticism and mockery after it published an article that critics said tried to soften the image of slain Hezbollah founder Hassan Nasrallah — claiming the terror leader who advocated for the annihilation of Israel was a champion of “equality” for all religious groups in the region.
The article, titled “Protesters Mourn Nasrallah’s Death Around the World” — published Saturday without a byline — heaps praise on Nasrallah as a “gifted orator” who “maintained that there should be one Palestine with equality for Muslims, Jews and Christians.”
Nasrallah fervently believed in the destruction of the Jewish state — and his organization carried out numerous horrific attacks on Jews around the world.
Tumblr media
Nasrallah, 64, was killed in a massive aerial bombardment by Israeli forces in Beirut on Friday. He co-founded Hezbollah in 1982, becoming the terror group’s sole leader by 1992.
The Iran-backed Islamist militant group has been accused of perpetrating numerous deadly terror attacks targeting Jewish people over the last 40 years, including bombing a Jewish center in Buenos Aires in 1994, killing 85 people, and causing a plane crash the next day that killed 21 people, many of them Jewish.

Never believe Russian narratives about Ukraine
Yesterday, Russians were celebrating Maslenitsa in the center of New York City, but fortunately, they were visited by our activists. They are celebrating while their fathers, brothers, and friends are killing us every day.

“New York glitter-punk outfit The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black began life as a near-death experience. Shortly before forming the band in 1990, front woman Kembra Pfahler was strangled in a brutal mugging and almost died. While recovering, battered and zonked on painkillers, she watched the 1975 horror movie Trilogy of Terror on television. The film stars Karen Black, the quirky cross-eyed actress whose wildly erratic career encompasses everything from some of the key American films of the 1970s (Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces, Nashville, Day of the Locust) to mainstream Hollywood schmaltz (Airport 1975) to obscure straight-to-VHS exploitation / horror dreck. In Trilogy's best-known segment, Black is stalked by and eventually possessed by a cursed malevolent Zuni fetish doll which has come to life. [SPOILER ALERT] It concludes with a final jolting image of the now-crazed and murderous, knife-wielding Black grinning blank-eyed and maniacal to the camera to reveal a mouthful of razor-sharp teeth identical to the Zuni doll’s … In her traumatized state, that savage and disturbing image -- combined with almost dying -- made a powerful impression on Pfahler. Inspired, she would blacken out her teeth, conceal her natural fine-featured beauty under cadaverous make-up and take to the stage clad in little more than a pair of thigh boots and a coat of body paint. Pfahler’s look can suggest a character from a John Waters film given an “ugly make-over”: think of Divine as the acid-scarred Dawn Davenport in Female Trouble (1974), an image which seems to anticipate TVHKB’s twisted glamour. Like Divine before her, Pfahler shaves off her eyebrows and shaves back her hairline to accommodate her extreme eye make-up. “I want to be both very beautiful and very repulsive,” Pfahler would explain to The Toronto Star in 1994.”

Born on this day 62 years ago (4 August 1961): California girl-turned-NYC provocative performance artist, Cinema of Transgression actress and Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black voodoo-dolly singer Kembra Pfahler. Photo of Pfahler by me!
