bored out of my mind at work bc it’s the week before christmas and no one ever comes and i’ve cleaned this whole place top to bottom and i still have to fucking babysit it so i bring you….
what the jesusi would order from subway brought to you by your local sandwich artist (and why)
(no one will have ham or bacon bc THEYRE JEWISH. and don't fight me on this. i'm the expert.)
2012 bway jesus
he gets the philly steak because it’s the first thing on the menu and he gets frustrated because he doesn’t know how to work a subway without mary and judas (this happens more often than you’d think.) he gets it exactly how it comes on the menu but is dissatisfied bc he doesn’t like green peppers and didn’t realize they were there. he still tips. he inevitably fucks up every time he comes into the shop and ends up dissociating until it’s time to pay. but also buys a pack of the raspberry cookies for mary and judas!!!
arena tour jesus
a vegan, so he get the veggie delight! he gets it on wheat bread with no cheese (but the bread warmed!) and then he gets all the fresh veggies. lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, green pepper, and black olives. he also gets with olive oil, red wine vinegar, and a sprinkle of salt ✨but he WILL be getting a bag of crisps to go with it. a super chill customer who is really polite, but not overly bubbly to the point it’s grating. orders quickly and promptly leaves. tips, but makes sure to do it in cash so it won’t go to the company.
2k jesus
he would get the mexicali. it’s indulgent and earthy and rich. it’s a lot. and this jesus is a lot. also everyone who gets this is super nice and they know what the want. mexicali people are good people. he gets it with provolone cheese instead of pepperjack and has them leave off the onions and adds banana peppers. herb and cheese bread! because he’s extra! he does not tip but it’s bc he doesn’t know tipping is a thing at subway.
(okay i admit this is mostly bc there''s a guy who looks just like him who always gets this one even though its not on the current menu. i still make it for him. and that just has the vibes of glensus.)
1973 jesus
this dood is just classic. like yeah. this guy would eat fish. he would get the most basic sub you can think of. and it’s tuna. and everyone thinks he’s wrong for it. but he likes it, so it’s okay. he’s a whole grain guy and he doesn’t get cheese or sauce on it. he’s a cucumber and olive man. that’s it. he’s the type of customer that leaves the employees going “…huh.” he’s the type that just appears at the counter and you didn’t even hear him walk in. he will also always start at the wrong end. but super nice and easy. you learn his order and can make it as soon as you see him. super polite. not very talkative. he tips in coins.
2024 dutch tour jesus
sweet onion terriyaki chicken. the best one. he has the best taste. (this was my fav one before i went vegetarian.) it’s savory but also pleasant and light and it’s a nice little treat. and he deserves a nice little treat. i think he’s a flatbread fellow. for veg he would get spinach, onion, green pepper, and a light glaze of the sauce. maybe he would even add some pepperjack cheese bc he likes a diverse flavor profile! heated and not toasted bc he likes the bread soft like him! the type of customer the employees love getting because he’s always polite and kind (and pretty)! will also tip! this guy walks in and you'll tell your coworker “oh, i'll get him!“
50th anniversary tour jesus
a cutie sweetie pie. he just gets something quick so he can get back to it. he's been getting the same sandwich since he was a child and came in with the virgin mary. just a plain turkey and american cheese (get it for the american tour) on italian bread with lettuce and light mayo. never tomato though. if he gets tomato by mistake, he will politely pick them off and give them to someone else. but more recently, he's been indulging and ordering one of the soft pretzels with honey mustard to go with it. considerate and polite customer who will chat about music with you while you make his sandwich. (you'll slip him a coupon bc he's adorable.) forgets cash, so he doesn't tip but he will most definitely thank you profusely.
2014 Swedish Tour Jesus
straight up just gets that terrifying footlong cookie. It smells amazing (so does he) and they're both intimidating as hell. he straight up walks into the store with his shirt unbuttoned and his sunglasses on. you've never seen anyone brave enough to actually buy this, but if anyone could do it, it's him. he would not eat an actual sandwich from the store. the idea freaks him out. your overly flirtatious coworker will try to ask him out. he'll laugh. then he'll ask for two forks (will he share with judas? mary? he hasn't decided yet.) and tips a surprisingly large amount that makes your jaw drop. you will be googling him to see if he's a celebrity afterwards. but no, he's just like that.
#jesus christ superstar#jesus christ#jcs headcanons#i’m so bored#someone send customers to me#i have to make up customers IN MY DAMN HEAD#at least i technically got paid to make this post#subway sponsor me#jcs posting

Shopping, Shopping, Shopping...
We went a little overboard with shopping today, but look what all we got!
We're doing this... we're seriously doing this! We bought helmets! W was a bit shocked at the price... she'll spend 60 bucks on little cute nook houses, but 50 bucks for a bike helmet threw her for a loop! But it's important, we made sure to get a quality brand that was MIPS rated, and hopefully we'll use them a lot for many years!
It only takes one bad crash to really mess up the brain, so it's best to be safe.
Clothing wise, I've gotten a few more pairs of pants including these interesting canvas cargo pants on the right. I think they'll be good for when we ride bikes and give me a little extra protection.
I also got a couple more shirts that were on sale. I can't get away from OD, it's a color I've always worn and I like the way it looks. I've also been getting more long sleeve UPF shirts for the added protection from the sun.
Also look at this shirt/jacket/sweater thing!
"Eddie Bauer Men's Sweater Fleece Shirt Jacket" ... which should be nice and warm for some of our walks.
And I've hit peak old man... I have a pair of new balance shoes, but it's getting harder and harder to put them on some days when my spine is really flared, so I grabbed these skechers hands free slip ons!
I also got a new toy to play with! It's a 72mm filter holder for my camera phone and a set of 72mm colored filters to use at the Aquarium! I'm excited to try the yellow and orange combo, along with the brown to see how it brings the colors out.
And as far as food goes, Yoshida's Terriyaki is available again and omg did we miss it!!! The best of the best. And we'll try some new spices!
So there ya go, we got some great sale prices... helmets were 50 instead of the normal 80, the jacket was just 12 bucks, the UPF shirt was 15, the t-shirts were 7, and the shoes were 40. So not bad at all!

What I ate
I re-read some of my text posts from 2017 era and it made me leaughf
I am just going down through the highlights of that era (college time 2017-2018) for my food choices. First off we have the best thing ever.
Panda express
This consisted of at least 10% of my meals. At the time I was going to college and there's a panda express right next to the math building too and I had classes there so like what else did the universe expect from me. I always got orange chicken with chow mein and veggie spring rolls. If I was feeling crazy I'd sub out the veggie spring rolls with the terriyaki chicken. What was less good was that I felt like I always had to walk a mile just to find anywhere to eat that trash. I am pretty sure I couldn't or chose not to eat at the math library and I hated eating around other people so it took me a while to find a quiet place to eat. I remember walking up the stairs up to a building until I got to the roof access several times just to eat in peace. I once ate in a bathroom stall. I don't really like noise. Now any time I eat panda express I think of this era.
Pancakes
In Persona 5, a video game I played in 2017, my man Akechi mentions pancakes because he loves them. Put simply that's all the impetus I needed to make probably hundreds of pancakes. Granted it didn't start until late 2017 and all the way till the end of spring 2018. At first, I used box pancakes and found they tasted like gum after you had been chewing for an hour. I was disgusted but also pancakes that bad were the drive for me to try to make pancakes so good. So, I followed a recipe online and made minor adjustments until I had perfected the pancake. I was making pancakes every other day because I was so eager to make a good-- NAY-- GREAT PanCake. I'm proud that the people I lived with thought they were good and that I also had a problem with pancakes and they talked to me about it a few times. My next goal is to make hazlenut pancakes. #oneshot but not fanfic the game
other
Those are really the only iconic things I could think of in that era. I abandoned my place in a picket line to get the rick and morty Szechuan sauce at McDonalds. I got two, one for me and one for my cousin who was gonna visit. There was a Chinese place that I ate at that was so cheap and gave huge serving sizes. The only problem was that they would literally close like every 3 months because of failing health inspections. Yeah, it wouldn't be a surprise to see cockroaches abound when you walk in, but imo the food was worth the risk. At least I'm still alive to tell about it.

Day 4: Friday January 3rd, 2025 [Tokyo]
Breakfast: Coffee and a ham&cheese sandwhich
Lunch: McDonalds terriyaki chicken burger, fries & melon Fanta
Dinner: Sub-par kimchi noodles & share plates
Steps: 11, 038
We had such a great day today! Despite waking up with incredibly stiff and sore feet, we pushed through and decided to take it a bit easier, but still explore. Morgan found a sit-in coffee shop down the road so we had a lovely slow start to the day that was soundtracked by smooth jazz. We both had a slow-drip coffee and a ham and cheese toastie for breakfast and I managed to half-order in Japanese. We saw the QR code for the English menu after ordering - d’oh!
We headed in to Asakusa on the train at 11am. It took about 30 minutes and was quiet as it was after peak hour. It was about 7º and I was very glad to see that my new thermals worked a treat. We got off at Skytree Station to visit the top of our second sky-high tourist attraction, the Tokyo Skytree. We collected another Eki stamp and were then immediately bombarded by more shopping! Floors of it! We visited a Pokemon store to get a souvenir for our niece and then queued up for tickets. The next available time slot was 2:30pm so we had an hour to kill. We walked through a giant merch store called ‘Entertainment Store’ that had a bananas amount of merch from a million different franchises - there was no rhyme or reason to the displays. Nothing really stood out to us, but I did try my first ‘gashapon’ - a vending machine that dispenses toys in plastic balls, akin to Kinder Surprises in Australia. They are everywhere.
We walked past a McDonalds and decided it would be a quick and easy lunch before our booking. We were keen to try the Japanese menu so I ordered the Cheese Cheese Terriyaki Chicken Burger & Morgan ordered the Shrimp Filet-O. Both were… fine. The fries tasted the same and the drinks we ordered were way too sweet. I felt crook after this meal, so I don’t think we’ll be having anymore Maccas. We ate our lunch outside so we could see the tower and it was so intimidatingly large that it gave us tingles. It felt like our necks were almost back on a 90º angle in order to see the top.
At 2pm we lined up for the elevators and it quickly filled up behind us. The line seemed congested, but it moved in blocks as they piled people into the lifts. We moved so quickly and so high up that our ears popped multiple times which was weird. They also had a window in the roof so you could see how we were moving and it looked like something out of a sci-fi. The views from level 340 were sensational but it was a bit cloudy, so we couldn’t see Mt Fuji. Hopefully we get to see it next week when we head out that way. We collected the venue stamps (of course!), got a free souvenir picture and then took the elevator up to level 450 to see even further over Tokyo! There were less crowds higher up and it was a much more pleasant experience.
We left the Skytree at 3:30pm and caught the train to Asakusa to visit the Senso-Ji Temple. We were apprehensive about visiting as it was only an hour until sunset, but it ended up being an incredible time to visit.
As soon as we arrived in the district it was buzzing. There were food stalls set up, people everywhere and hoards heading towards the shrine. Again, it looked packed but moved quickly. The temple was HUGE and the architecture was beautiful. We bought some charms from vendors (matching ‘relationship good luck’ for ourselves and ‘healthy birth’ for our friends Emmet & Amelia who are pregnant) and lined up to show our respects. We threw money into the shrine, made a wish and then headed into the gardens. We bought a ‘goshuin’ to put in our stamp books. A goshuin is a hand-drawn seal given to visitors at shrines as proof of their visit. They cost ¥500 each and were such a lovely souvenir. I am very glad to have received one and hope we have the opportunity to collect more at shrines in Kyoto. We then paid ¥100 to get our fortunes told which was a cute New Year’s tradition. We walked around the gardens and bought some street food before walking around the surrounding streets of Asakusa which were alive with people eating, drinking and shopping. A very stereotypical ‘Japanese street’ that Morgan was very enamoured with.
We found an Izakaya for dinner and ordered a few things to share. The food was all average, but the hot sake was welcome as it was about 5º after the sun went down. We shared edamame, kimchi noodles, beef & rice and a cheesy Korean pancake.
After dinner we visited Don Quixote and Uniqlo again - we bought some cool patches for our feet to help with fatigue and Morgan wanted to get thermals after me bragging about how good mine were.
After a 15 minute walk and 30 minute train, we made a final stop at the Konbini for snacks and morning coffee and headed home to rest. This was an absolutely phenomenal day. We are having such a good trip so far!

you really like cooking and seem to be pretty skilled at that. what do you like to make the most?
Hm. Well I have a few that I like making a lot and I can't pick a fave sooooo-
Beef Brisket with potatoes and carrots. I season it well and cook it with plenty of garlic and onions. I usually pressure cook it. It ends up with a HEAVENLY broth and its so fucking tender dude. Personally, I like to eat it with a side of rice, but my dad is kinda weird about meals with two carb options
Potato soup is another one I like making. My dad's recipe includes a lot of cheese, ham, and onion in it, so there's plenty of flavor. It ends up having a nice thick broth. It's incredibly rich though, so I don't get to make it often (he's diabetic). Lightly sauteing the potatoes and onion make it more flavorful
CRAB RANGOONS MY BELOVED <3
Funny story! I made three pounds of crab rangoons the day before I got my wisdom teeth extracted and being unable to eat those crispy, creamy fried wonders was like psychological torment. Long story short, I gave into the temptation and my mouth started bleeding again. Worth it
#gopher rambles#unfortunatey i dont get to cook fun stuff much. food is expensive and my dad is kinda picky. so. i'm kinda limited in what i can do rn#but hey. at least i can get a little creative with my lunches. today I made terriyaki tuna salad again. and it was fantastic

Hello sandwich girl. Okay keep in mind my [unspecified well known sandwich chain] may be different from your [unspecified well known sandwich chain] because we live on different continents but. Listen to me and listen to me carefully. White bread. Lettuce. Cucumber. (You can leave the tomatoes cuz I know you don't like tomato, but originally in my perfect recipe there is tomato just know that). Olives (Green olives preferably), and if you must, onion. The terriyaki chicken option or whatever is closest to it. Cheddar cheese. Chipotle sauce. If they allow extra bacon on that bad boy then Hell you put extra bacon on that bad boy. Get it toasted. I'm trying to think of who could best appreciate my perfect recipe and it's probably tachihara I'll be honest
god bless
holy moly!!!!!
i FULLY agree, give tachihara a goodass sandwich and some cookies. i appreciate you remembering my dislike for tomatoes jestie <3 unfortunately we've only got black olives at my chain, but olives are olives!
Ingredients:
white bread
teriyaki chicken
bacon
cheddar
toast him!
lettuce
cucumber
olives
onion
chipotle sauce
results: my rating for the transmasc sandwich is a 9/10. holy shit dude. i'll be entirely honest jestie i was lowkey not super eager for this one since i don't really like cucumber and olives (they don't make me sick like tomatoes, but i wouldn't seek them out), but WOAH. the cucumber and olives go super well with the teriyaki and bacon! it's crispy and mmmmmmmmmm nice one jestie
#dia's discourse#thoughts: jesterph0bic#again#i needa put some hotter sauce on this bad boy#omg this with *old english* HOLY SHIT#man jestie#i just#now YOU need to try MY favourite sandwich#unfortunately not as exciting as yours but still alright i think#can we tell i love a little bit of spicy on my sandwiches#lol
