STEVE IRWIN
STEVE IRWIN
1962-2006
Steve Irwin was born on his mother’s 20th birthday in Melbourne, Australia; not long after his parents moved to Queensland to run a wildlife park in Queensland. Irwin grew up around crocodiles, snakes, lizards, koalas and other animals. He was given a pet python on his 6th birthday, when he was 9 he was out catching crocodiles with his dad. They would have to catch crocodiles that wandered too close to towns and homes and would bring them back to the wilderness or to the park.
Irwin got married to an American conservationist Teri Raines in 1992 and they spent their honeymoon in the wilderness. They had two children, Bindi and Robert, who also grew up with the love of animals and conservation. The Irwins started filming their adventures on video which led to making a television series, The Crocodile Hunter (1996) where Irwin became known for his catchphrase ‘Crickey!’.
Every year, Irwin put $1 million into charity that purchased land around Australia for preservation. In 2003, Irwin was filming a documentary in Mexico when he and the crew heard on the radio that two scuba divers went missing in the area. The group suspended filming to search and discovered one of the divers clinging onto a rock ledge on the side of a cliff and he was helped into Irwin’s boat. The other diver, was found dead later that same day.
Irwin died aged 44, on 4 September 2006 when a stingray barb pierced his chest and penetrated his heart which resulted in him bleeding to death. The incident took whilst shooting a documentary on the Great Barrier Reef.
Irwin’s memorial took place on 20 September 2006; at the Australia Zoo ‘Crocoseum’. His daughter Bindi, aged 8, read a eulogy to her father, ‘I have the best daddy in the world and I will miss him every day. Most of all, he was fun. My daddy is my hero.’

Random fact
[ One of my role models is Steve Irwin. In fact, my entire family looked up to him. I remember the televisions in my childhood house showing Animal Planet and my family will watch “Crocodile Hunter” and other shows starring him and Teri. We even saw the movie as a family.
I miss him a lot. He was a hero to not only me, but to my parents and siblings too. I wanted to be just like him when I was about 7 years old. In the end, I kind of do what Steve does which is help animals in need and working with rehab centers and veterinary care. I also walked people through reuniting baby wild animals like rabbits with their mothers and step in when someone calls an emergency.
It’s not as exciting as working with crocodiles, but I like to think I’m kind of like Steve with my love for animals and the rescues I do with my older sister. He had so much love for animals and did what he could for them. We should also love creatures great and small and do what we can to protect them.]

Introducing: Teresa Lynn Devereaux
Fandom: The X-Files
Played By: Shiri Appleby
Birthday: November 22, 1963, at 5:13p
Alias: Teri
Species: Human
Place of Birth: Fort Irwin, California
Career: CSI for Baltimore Police Department, then FBI Special Agent
Hobbies: playing games, reading, watching TV/movies, sitting in nature, roller/ice skating
Likes: Board games/card games, most genres of movies/TV/books, the Beatles (and classic rock in general), scenic vistas (fields of flowers, jagged mountains, etc), dancing
Dislikes: Dogs (phobia), temperatures above 80 degrees, Type-A people, not being listened to (doesn’t matter if you agree with her or not, at least listen to her), thunderstorms
Favorite Bands: In general, she loves 60s-70s rock bands. The Beatles, Queen, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Aerosmith
Physical Quirks/Scars: Teri has a scar above her left eyebrow where a dog bit her. That same dog took off a chunk of her left ear. She has a prosthetic in place.
Speech: Teri tends to speak very fast, with some French occasionally slipping in when she gets emotional.
Gear: She always wears a watch on her right wrist (brown leather band, gold/white dial, black letters, indiglo, engraved on the back: “Sunk your battleship! J.S.”).
Favorite Animal: She’s never really thought about it, but she does like wolves.
Pet: Cat, though she is willing to get a dog if her children and/or husband really want/need one (working through that phobia)
Family: While this could depend on what story/time period, I’m writing her in, her family across her life is as follows: Pierre Devereaux (father, deceased), Gerald Spicer (ex-stepfather), Victor Sable (stepfather), Shelley Devereaux (mother), Jacques Devereaux (older brother), Sidney Devereaux (older brother), Cassandra Spender (mother-in-law, deceased), CGB Spender (father-in-law, presumed deceased), Jeffrey Spender (husband), Brandon Devereaux (son), Cassandra Devereaux (daughter)
Friends: Lacey Curtis (best friend, played by China Anne McClain), Henry Curtis, (played by Alex Désert), Patrick Cavanagh (played by Tom Cavanagh), John Doggett, Monica Reyes, Marita Covarrubias
Love Interest: Jeffrey Spender (Chris Owens)
Personality: Teri is friendly, perceptive, and energetic. She has a plan for herself and sticks to it, but she makes sure to have fun along the way. She cares deeply for her friends and makes herself available to them. She doesn’t much care for people beating around the bush and will often be direct to get to the heart of a problem so she can help solve it. She is reliable, open-minded, and playful. However, she can be petty, impulsive, reckless, overemotional, and subjective. If she doesn’t like something, she lets you know about it. And if you hurt one of her friends? She can be downright vengeful.
Fun Fact: Teri will go out of her way to jump in a leaf pile.
Teri will cook meals for the first time and test them out on houseguests.
Teri is afraid of flying. She will count during takeoff to keep herself calm, and then have a drink in flight. She doesn’t like taking pills.

[ My childhood hero was Steve Irwin. Growing up, I watched more Animal Planet than cartoons and my entire family looked up to Steve and Teri for their work and love for animals. He was an enormous influence on my life. I wanted to be like the Irwins when I was little, but as years passed, I believe my calling is to help people with my study in infectious diseases and cultural practices in medicine while my sisters will continue their studies and work to help animals like the Irwins do to this day. ]

Did Aphria’s Irwin Simon give Selective Disclosure to investor Michael Serruya? $APHA $LHS

Did Aphria’s Irwin Simon give Selective Disclosure to investor Michael Serruya? $APHA $LHS
Teri reports 18 October 2019……Aphria interim CEO Irwin Simon worked a backroom deal to off load the companies stake in U.S. cannabis investments with Canadian mega million Michael Serruya before he took over the CEO job at the Canadian marijuana company.
According to text messages obtained by this reporter between Serruya and Irwin sent on the morning of Feb 6, 2019, Michael Serruya took the lead in speaking for his family and Andy Defrancesco to negotiate the price and timing of when Aphria ($APHA) would exit its stake in Liberty Health Science ($LHS).
In December 2018 the Toronto Stock Exchange, where Aphria was listed, forced the company to divest any stake in U.S. cannabis companies because they sold products that were illegal by federal law.

I’m a professional financial investigative journalist who has written for the Greenwich Time, Hearst CT Newspapers, Forbes Magazine, Fortune.com, The Atlantic.com, New York Magazine, New York Post, Trader Monthly, Housingwire, ML-Implode, The Business Insider, Long Island Business News, Dealbreaker, New York Observer, Bitcoin Magazine, DealFlow Media, SIRF.org and more. For the last five years I have been a contributing reporter for Market Nexus Media who publishes a financial trade publication called Growth Capital Investor.
I earned my breaking/investigative news chops reporting during the financial crisis in 2008 for the Sunday edition of the New York Post. I was one of the first to report on the missteps at IndyMac that lead to government investigations and lawsuits against the banks founders. Caught hedge funds like Carrington Capital abusing investors without disclosing conflicts of interest with senior RMBS bond holders; they were sued by Wilbur Ross for Civil RICO. I exposed Bear Stearns misleading their own investors and monoline insurers on the quality of the loans in their mortgage-backed securities, which led to a fraud lawsuit against JP Morgan/Bear Stearns and the $13 billion settlement with the DOJ in 2013. Since 2010 multiple Wall Street firms, that my reporting warned about first, have been [JP Morgan, SpongeTech, Security Savings Bank, SAC Capital, Palm Beach Capital Management, New Stream Capital, NIR Group/Cory Ribotsky, Bear Stearns RMBS Traders, Mike Perry IndyMac CEO, Steven Muehler and the Nanocap MarketPlace, Barry Honig and The Frost Group] investigated or charged for financial violations by the FBI/SEC/State AG or shut down by bank regulators.
The Huffington Post named me the number three most dangerous financial journalist for being willing to challenge the establishment and inform readers best. I’m working on trade-marking “Smashmouth Journalism”

Sea Shepherd’s Flagship M/Y Steve Irwin Retires After A Life Defending The Oceans
Sea Shepherd’s flagship vessel the M/Y Steve Irwin has conducted multiple campaigns in defence of the world’s oceans, from protecting pilot whales in the Faeroes, bluefin tuna in the Mediterranean, humpback whales off the Kimberley coast, to safeguarding one of the last large intact marine ecosystems on the planet in the Great Australian Bight (knocking out BP and Chevron) or more recently to the Great Barrier Reef in opposition of the Adani coal mine, to shutting down six illegal Chinese drift-netters in the South Indian Ocean, and six illegal tooth fish poachers in the Southern Ocean.
Last but not least, it has conducted nine Antarctic whale defence campaigns in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary helping save over 6,000 whales from the illegal Japanese whaling fleet.
Prior to Sea Shepherd obtaining the M/Y Steve Irwin, the Steve was a Scottish fisheries patrol vessel, built in 1975, so in essence, the Irwin has been defending marine wildlife its whole life. Sea Shepherd has always taken great pride and appreciation in getting permission from the Irwin family to name our ship the Steve Irwin back in 2007, in continuing the legacy and honouring Australia’s great wildlife warrior.
Sadly our Steve is at the end of its life and we need to retire the vessel. We have reached out to many organisations and governments to look at options such as turning the Steve into a dive site or donating it to a maritime museum. However, with none of these options eventuating or being practical, the Steve Irwin will be recycled.
Sea Shepherd Founder, Captain Paul Watson, stated: “On December 7, 2007, Teri Irwin and I launched the M/V Steve Irwin, a vessel that would be our flagship for the next decade. It has been my honour to have been captain of this vessel for so many successful high seas campaigns.
The lives we have saved and the difference we have made with this vessel has been awesome. We worked the ship hard, through horrific storms and crushing ice and after eleven years, our engineers have determined that the Steve Irwin is no longer safe for sea.
“It is simply not wise to risk the lives of our crew beyond the boundaries of practicality. Despite the many risks we have taken over the years we have learned when to hold a ship and when to retire a ship and regrettably the time to retire the Steve Irwin is now. Battle-scarred and damaged, regrettably she must be retired, but the memories, the campaign victories and the lives saved will be the lasting legacy of a ship that was as valiant and courageous as her namesake.”
Captain Alex Cornelissen, CEO of Sea Shepherd Global stated: “I will always remember the first voyage of the Steve Irwin (called the Robert Hunter at that time), after having found the vessel in Rosyth, Scotland we prepared the ship for active service in Neptune’s Navy. We sailed down the Atlantic and through the Straights of Magellan to the first Antarctic anti-whaling campaign in which we had a speed advantage over the whalers. The Steve Irwin was the game changer and stood at the base of Sea Shepherd’s following Antarctic campaigns, saving over 6,000 whales”
Jeff Hansen, Managing Director, Sea Shepherd Australia stated: “Having sailed six campaigns personally on the Irwin, I have many fond priceless experiences and cherished memories that I take with me to the grave. So, it’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our flagship the Steve Irwin, for the Steve has facilitated Sea Shepherd in creating lasting victories and legacies for our oceans. A global and Australian iconic vessel that has defended whales off the Kimberley, the Great Australian Bight, the Great Barrier Reef and off Antarctica,” Jeff continued.
“The Steve Irwin’s final journey will be to a Hong Kong Convention approved scrapping facility, meaning it meets international labour and environmental regulations. In essence, Sea Shepherd was able to further extend the life of the Irwin from a Scottish Fisheries patrol vessel to today since we purchased the Irwin back in 2007. Now in line with Sea Shepherd’s environmental ethics and standards the Irwin will be recycled.
“Sea Shepherd would like to thank and acknowledge all the wonderful people around the world that over the years volunteered, supported and funded the Steve Irwin on its vital global missions, that had a piece of their hearts filled with the hope and courage that the Steve represented, and with each campaign Sea Shepherd sailed in defence of the oceans, our supporters spirits always sailed with us.
“Together with the Steve Irwin, we have made history, saving hundreds of thousands of marine animals in defence of our oceans, humanity’s primary life support.”
