Or no, I discarded it, because it was within me, in my own perceptions — not outside.”⁣ — Marcus Aurelius⁣ ⁣ If you want to silence doubters, first silence the doubt in your own mind 🤫 Easier said than done- I KNOW!!!⁣ ⁣ I’ll give you an example from my own life:⁣ When I first got sober, I started experiencing these moments of panic on stage mid song. It was an irrational fear that I was going to forget how to play a solo I’d played perfectly literally hundreds of times. As the solo got closer and closer that fear would take over and if I couldn’t snap out of it and let muscle memory take over, I would WITHOUT FAIL start the solo on a weird note and have to recover.⁣ This would happen once or twice a month in front of arena crowds of 15- 20k people. I had to train myself in those moments to switch that part of my brain off relax, and let muscle memory do its thing. ⁣ ⁣ As soon as I realized how completely irrational that notion was, it no longer had power over me. Sometimes the key to overcoming that mental barrier is to simply tell yourself sternly- HEY. THAT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE. Snap yourself out of self doubt and sabotage, and relax into confidence and preparedness.⁣ ⁣ I don’t mean to oversimplify and certainly not all problems can be solved this way. But many can!! Probably more than you would think.
