This is great because Perrin knew basically nothing about the details of the schism. He hasn’t really been doing anything that requires a close eye on Aes Sedai politics. But he knows her well, so he’s like “ah yeah of course Egwene is the magic lady Pope; can’t believe it took two whole years.” Meanwhile Faile pretty much does not know Egwene so she has a normal person reaction to this and is like wait Perrins childhood friend is the head of the Aes Sedai, a position typically held by women well over 100 years old? Why is no one surprised by this?

More of Elayne being subconsciously psychotically possessive! Wow. Though I’m glad the #AesSedai wondering around #Telaranrhiod we’re taken down a peg. They need to realize, accepted or not, #Elayne & #Nynaeve have been out in the world, doing and dealing with things that would make most Aes Sedai crumble in a heap of tears and screams. I feel bad for what the women went through in the #WorldOfDreams but the girls were practically put through a #TrialByFire and came out the other side stronger for it. Im beginning to think they’re intentionally being held back because the AesSedai don’t want to acknowledge their power and wisdom gained from real world experiences. Spoilers for ToM (I think?) but I think Hopper’s death in telaranrhiod could count as the death of a mentor. Also re: hating Rand, I get it, and I might hate him too if I didn’t have nostalgia attached to the character, but I still don’t? Tbh there are other issues with male/female relationships in WoT that frustrate me SO much more where both groups barely treat each other as human sometimes, but in different ways, and Rand just seems symptomatic of that :P He is for sure frustrating though...

ALSO: Could you point to some specific instances of these #troubling male/female relationships that you mention? I have not finished reading the series (this is Sally, obviously. Bonjour bonjour) and I would love to keep my eye (of the world) out for them so I can think through the gender dynamics from as many angles as possible

so the dream is like a weird twisted version of the ways in telaranrhiod, but even more interestingly we get a hint of the rand/moridin connection much later amazed how all the seemingly random worldbuilding from domon here is actually true setup for events later
