[Palestine Red Crescent Society] has just received serious threats from the occupation authorities to immediately evacuate Al-Quds Hospital in the Gaza Strip, as it is going to be bombarded. Since this morning, there has been raids 50 meters away from the hospital
-- Palestine Red Crescent Society, 29 Oct 2023 4:51am ET
PRCS, a humanitarian organization that is part of the International Red Cross, further explains: "14000 displaced civilians the majority of them being children and women are currently residing inside Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza. They are living in fear and anxiety due to the threats from the occupying authorities to bomb the hospital which they sought refuge in as a result of the ongoing shelling, believing that it would be a safe haven." They also shared a video of Palestinians taking shelter in Al-Quds Hospital, followed by a video of Palestinian civilians and medical staff attempting to evacuate amidst nearby rocket launches.
The hospital also accommodates PRCS personnel, operating rooms, and ambulance crews who are tirelessly serving hundreds of thousands of citizens in the northern Gaza Strip. The United Nations health agency chief has also expressed concerns about the Israeli threats. “We reiterate – it’s impossible to evacuate hospitals full of patients without endangering their lives,” Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director of the World Health Organization (WHO), said on X. While warnings from Israel to bomb this hospital have intensified over the past week, Al Jazeera has obtained exclusive aerial photographs of the al-Quds Hospital, taken just hours after it received the most recent threat of Israeli air strikes. The aerial scenes depict a significant gathering of displaced individuals seeking refuge in the hospital’s courtyards. Hundreds of citizens have flocked to the hospital as it continues to admit victims of the ongoing Israeli bombardment in Gaza. The pictures also reveal the presence of ambulances and the preparedness of medical teams stationed at the hospital entrance.

🚨Help my Children to Survive the War in Gaza🚨
Hello, my name is Yasmeen Al-Jojo, 34 years old. I am a mother of four children: Qusai (16), Mohammed (14), Bahjat (12), and Taha (7). My husband lives in the north while my children and I are in the south, specifically in Tel Al-Hawa in Gaza City.
Tumblr media
My children’s mental health has been shattered, and they suffered greatly in this war from fear, displacement, and homelessness. They had to carry water from very distant areas, with destruction all around and rockets and shrapnel overhead. They were deprived of continuing their education, even though they were top students.
Tumblr media
My children have also been deprived of the food they love, which their bodies and minds need to grow, but still, we endure. Our home was bombed while we were inside it. My sisters, brother, and half of their children were martyred, and my son developed kidney disease from the smell of gunpowder.
Tumblr media
We once had all the comforts and basic tools for a dignified life, but now we have lost everything. We cook over a fire despite the exhaustion and heat, barely managing to find flour, water, and wood. Yet, we remain resilient in southern Gaza despite the bombing, hunger, fear, and severe shortages of water, medicine, and essential supplies.
We have been displaced and are still moving from one place to another, hoping this cursed war will end.
We desperately need your help

Journalist Ismail Al-Ghoul gives an update on the difficult conditions and the dispersion of the remaining IOF troops in north Gaza. Instagram user faridaek provides a full English translation:
Very harsh conditions on day 119. Gaza is suffering from very severe cold, our extremities freeze due to the intensity of the cold in the north of the Gaza Strip. But the real challenge in the north is the lack of blankets and clothing after the occupying forces significantly destroyed the northern areas. We're talking about extensive destruction and a real disaster, we're afraid of children dying due to the lack of blankets and clothes. Currently, if some of the clothes get wet, families are unable to change out of them because of the shortage in the amount of clothing available. Regarding the current situation on the ground, intense artillery shelling continues, and occupation forces remain heavily stationed in Gaza City's southwestern areas, including Arafat City, Etisalat, Ansar, and Tel al-Hawa. These are the areas where they are still heavily present.

Joint IDF and ISA announcement:
A significant underground Hamas intelligence asset and weapons inside offices—These findings were found within UNRWA facilities
Over the last two weeks, IDF and ISA forces have been conducting a division-level targeted raid on terror targets in northern and central Gaza.
The forces operated in the areas of Shati and Tel al-Hawa in northern Gaza. Approximately 120 Hamas terrorists were killed and 20 terrorist infrastructure sites were destroyed as part of the operation.
Following ISA intelligence, the forces arrived at a tunnel shaft near an UNRWA school. The shaft led to an underground terror tunnel that served as a significant asset of Hamas' military intelligence and passed under the building that serves as UNRWA's main headquarters in the Gaza Strip.
The tunnel was 700 meters long and 18 meters deep and contained several blast doors. A wide variety of intelligence assets were seized during the operation. The newly-found intelligence will allow the forces to operate against additional Hamas targets. The dismantling of the tunnel weakens Hamas' intelligence capabilities.
The forces located electrical infrastructure inside the tunnel connected to UNRWA's main headquarters, under which the underground tunnel was located, indicating that UNRWA's facilities supplied the tunnel with electricity.
Following these findings and based on preliminary ISA intelligence, the forces conducted a targeted raid on UNRWA’s central headquarters, which contains offices for various humanitarian and international organizations. Large quantities of weapons were found inside the rooms of the building, including rifles, ammunition, grenades and explosives. Intelligence and documents discovered in the offices of UNRWA officials confirmed that the offices had in fact also been used by Hamas terrorists.

Palestinian medics retrieved more than 60 bodies from under the rubble in the Shejaiya neighbourhood in Gaza City after Israeli troop withdrawal from the area, the Civil Defence Agency has said.
"Dozens of bodies are still trapped under the rubble in the neighbourhood," spokesperson Mahmoud Basal told a press conference on July 11.
He said Israeli forces destroyed more than 85 percent of the residential buildings in the neighbourhood, making Shejaiya a disaster area that is not suitable for habitation.
The Israeli army said on June 10 that it had completed its mission in the Shejaiya neighbourhood after two weeks of incursions, but bombardments and fighting continued to shake Gaza City.
Basal said at least 50 people are also believed to have been killed in an Israeli offensive into Tel al-Hawa west of Gaza City.
Israel's war on Gaza, now in its 280th day, has killed at least 38,345 Palestinians — majority of them women and children –– and wounded 88,295, with 10,000+ estimated to be buried under the debris and 9,500+ abducted by Tel Aviv.

An Israeli bombing near the Kuwaiti Hospital in downtown Rafah, killed nine members of Al-Zatma family, Wafa reported.
Palestinian paramedics recovered on Monday the bodies of five people under the rubble of a bombed house in Al-Qarara town, near Khan Younis, Wafa said.
Palestine’s Ministry of Education said in a new report that 620,000 students in the Gaza Strip have remained out of schools since October, with most schools having been either damaged, destroyed, or turned into a shelter.
Israel’s aggression on Gaza killed at least 5,379 students and injured 8,888, the ministry said on Tuesday. In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces or settlers have killed 48 Palestinian students and injured 305 others in nearly five months.
In Gaza, Israel bombed or damaged a total of 351 schools and killed 255 teachers and staff.

Hello, I am Rania Mahna, a graphice designer and artist. I have been working as a freelancer for 13 years. I did not expect our lives to be turned upside down to this extent. We left our home with some of our belongings, seeking refuge with the Red Crescent in Tel al-Hawa, as it is an international body and also an international health organization. The occupation has red lines that should not be exposed to. We were besieged by the occupation army for about a month and a week due to the severity of the destruction around us. The shrapnel reached the children and women on the upper floors, and many of them and the defenseless youth were martyred. During my presence, I was trying to hide my fear from my family and resort to drawing on my tablet, which I was able to take with me when I left the house, thank God. One of my drawings was based on my view of the genocide on our humanity, on the small child before the big one. Please help me by publishing my story and my family’s and your support for us 💔

Israel says al-Quds Hospital will be bombed: Red Crescent
Oct 29th, 08:56 GMT
The Palestinian Red Crescent (PRCS) says it received “serious threats” from the Israeli forces to “immediately evacuate the al-Quds Hospital as it is going to be bombed”.
Since this morning, there have been bombs dropping 50 metres from the hospital, a statement on X said.
The hospital is located in the Tel al-Hawa area of Gaza City.
Footage shows crowds, displaced people at al-Quds Hospital
Oct 29th, 13:24 GMT
Aerial footage of al-Quds Hospital shows significant gathering of displaced individuals seeking refuge in the hospital’s courtyards.
Hospital authorities report receiving five warnings from the Israeli army, with warnings that the premises will be bombed imminently.
The hospital is located in Tal al-Hawa, in Gaza City, and affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent.
Hundreds of citizens have flocked to the hospital as it continues to admit victims of the ongoing Israeli bombardment in Gaza.
The footage, shot hours before the Israeli threats and obtained by Al Jazeera on Sunday, also reveal the presence of ambulances and medical teams stationed at the hospital’s entrance.
The hospital is sheltering 12,000 displaced civilians, with a majority being children and women.
Israeli air strikes hit close to al-Quds Hospital
Oct 29th, 13:35 GMT
Youmna ElSayed, reporting from Gaza
I live close to the al-Quds Hospital so the bombardment around it were pretty loud.
Because the kind of bombardments that are being conducted – air strikes or tank shells – are very powerful, they have an impact not just their targets but also their surrounding areas.
The hospital has not been directly hit, but areas around it have been targeted. This has caused a great amount of fear among patients.
The director of the hospital said they will not evacuate because doing so could result in death of patients, including the premature babies in incubators, and of those in the ICU unit. All of them, plus those taking shelter, total around 14,000 people.

"A Palestinian paramedic based in Gaza has shared horrific details of his detention and torture including threats of rape at the hands of Israeli forces.
Walid Khalili, 36, was arrested after being dispatched to the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City on November 10 to rescue four wounded men, according to a Human Rights Watch (HRW) report on Monday. But when his ambulance reached the location, 20 meters from the Labor Ministry building, he saw the men surrounded by Israeli forces.
'I saw the four men being executed in cold blood,' Khalili said. 'I saw it with my own eyes, I was three meters away. When they were shot, I hid under the ambulance, and next to it there was a building, so then I ran inside the building. The Israeli forces raided the building and started yelling at me to raise my hands.' Soldiers kicked and beat him with their rifle butts, breaking his ribs.
HRW said Khalili’s subsequent ordeal – including deportation from Gaza to detention facilities in Israel, torture, and denial of medical care – was consistent with the abuses in Israeli detention described by seven other healthcare workers who were interviewed. His account is also consistent with reports by other rights groups, the United Nations human rights office, and journalists, the report said.
Khalili said the soldiers forced him to strip naked in public, zip-tied his hands behind his back, blindfolded him, and took him to another location. 'They kept telling me, ‘Say you're Hamas,’' he said.
The father of three recalled the bitter November cold, the report said, when soldiers placed him in an open-back military vehicle, hit him, and drove him to an open area, where he was forced to lie face-down on sandy ground. Soldiers repeatedly shoved his face into the sand with their boots and threatened to kill him, Khalili said.
He was even doused with gasoline, as a soldier threatened to set him on fire, and others drove a military vehicle quickly toward him as if to run him over apparently to terrify him into confessing to being a member of Hamas, said the report. This was a tactic that another former former detainee separately described to HRW.
At the notorious Sde Teiman detention facility, about 30km from Gaza, in southern Israel, Khalili described being held in a large building 'like a warehouse' with chains hanging from the ceiling. He said Israeli soldiers dragged him on the ground, removed the cuffs on his ankles, dressed him in adult diapers, and removed his blindfold.
Dozens of detainees, also in diapers, were suspended from the ceiling, with the chains attached to their square metal handcuffs. Khalili said he was hung up, dressed in a garment and a headband that were attached to wires, and shocked him with electricity.
'The world was spinning around, and I fainted. They hit me with batons. I kept fainting and hallucinating. He kept asking me about the hostages, and moving Hamas hostages, and where I was on October 7. With every question I was electro-shocked to wake me up. He told me confess and we will stop torturing you,' he told HRW.
Khalili said he was given electric shocks every second day in addition to being suspended in stress positions and having cold water thrown on him. At three-day intervals, he was taken from the 'warehouse' for interrogation and before each ordeal, a soldier administered an unknown drug to him in pill form. 'The pill made me feel weird, it was the first time I have felt like this, as if my inner mind was speaking what was in my heart, not me. I felt like I’m flying. I saw hallucinations.'
An Israeli official who spoke fluent Arabic 'told me how many children I have, all their names, my address,' and threatened they would be killed if he did not confess. Khalili shared the abuse and torture of other detainees as well, saying one 'had his leg amputated' apparently as a result of prolonged shackling and exposure to cold.
He saw a detainee in the 'warehouse' experience what he believes was cardiac arrest; a soldier brought in an Israeli medical worker who confirmed the detainee was dead. Israeli forces brought the dead body of another detainee into the warehouse, Khalili said.
After 20 days, he was transferred, in a wheelchair and unable to stand, from Sde Teiman to a detention facility he called 'al-Naqab' prison. He was cuffed and blindfolded and said soldiers threatened him with rape while he was being transported.
The other detainees at al-Naqab were also sick and wounded, he said, and a man who was visibly 'bleeding from his bottom' was brought in and placed next to Khalili. The man told Khalili that before he was placed in detention, 'three soldiers took turns raping him with an M16 (assault rifle). No one else knew, but he told me as a paramedic. He was terrified. His mental health was awful, he started talking to himself.'
After more than 30 days at al-Naqab, Khalili said, he signed release papers at the prosecutors’ office and was given back his Palestinian ID document, but not his phone or cash (the equivalent of US$1,250) taken from him during his arrest in Gaza. Four days later, in late December 2023, he was released without charge at the Kerem Shalom (Karam Abu Salem) crossing. He had weighed 80 kilograms when arrested, and now weighed 60, he said.
The World Health Organization arranged for permission for him to be transferred for care to Egypt in May, but Israeli forces closed the Rafah border crossing on May 7. HRW said Khalili was sheltering in the al-Mawasi area near Khan Yunis, and still awaiting possible transfer to Egypt for medical care, separated from his family who are in northern Gaza.
'I cry every day without my family,' he said. 'I’m alone in the south, I have no one. I swear I don’t need anything but to be with my family.' He has not yet met his youngest son, who was born in Gaza while he was in detention.
HRW said he still loses consciousness and feels 'something in my head like microwaves, a loud sound,' and his hands cramp up. The pain from his broken ribs makes it difficult for him to sleep, and when he sleeps, he has nightmares, the report said."

Hamas rebuilt a terrorist base in the Gaza-based headquarters of the United Nations Palestinian Aid Agency (UNRWA) months after the Israeli military uncovered and destroyed a terror command center beneath the UN building.
“IDF forces operating in a compound used as the headquarters of UNRWA in Gaza found Hamas had rebuilt its military capabilities in the six months since troops withdrew from the area,” the Israeli news website YNET reported Monday.
The buildings of the UNRWA headquarters, designated as shelter for civilians, had been turned into a fortified base that was being used for the assembly of drones and as a weapons depot.
“During the activity, the troops engaged in close-quarters combat with terrorist cells that had fortified themselves inside the UNRWA compound and located parts for assembling a UAV, war rooms used for surveillance operations and large quantities of weapons, including tactical drones, rockets, machine guns, mortars, explosives and grenades,” the Israel Defense Forces revealed in a press release last week.
The Israeli troops also discovered terror tunnels running below the UNRWA headquarters. “Next to the terror compound raided by the troops, the IDF previously exposed and operated against an underground tunnel route and significant asset of Hamas’ military intelligence that passed under the building that served as UNRWA’s Headquarters in the Gaza Strip,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) statement added.
The YNET reported the latest find:
IDF forces operating in a compound used as the headquarters of UNRWA in Gaza, found Hamas had rebuilt its military capabilities in the six months since troops withdrew from the area. In the compound that was housing displaced civilians, the soldiers found workshops for the production of UAVs and other weapons, as well as rockets and explosives. Military commando units operated in the compound for the past week Over the past week. Situated between the Al-Sabra neighborhood and Tel al-Hawa in the northern part of the strip, the complex included a terrorist recruitment office and food warehouses. These warehouses, meant for humanitarian aid, were found storing rockets and explosive devices. Hamas-controlled food distribution lines were handing out vouchers to thousands of displaced Gazans daily. Within the warehouse complex near the university, the fighters discovered large UAVs that Hamas had constructed over recent months. The area showed clear signs of military recovery. Hamas had placed military-grade explosive devices, built observation posts and a forward command post (FCP) for managing the complex.
The revelations again highlight the deep collusion between Gaza-based terrorist groups and the disgraced UN agency. Last week, Israel’s foreign ministry released the names of more than 100 UNRWA employees who double as Palestinian terrorists. Many on UNRWA’s payroll carried out heinous atrocities on October 7.
After Israeli troops disrupted the terrorist operation, UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini had the temerity to accuse the IDF of turning his headquarters “into a battlefield” and “flattening” it. As the Israeli military noted, the destruction was caused by “close-quarters combat with terrorist cells that had fortified themselves inside the UNRWA compound.”

Journalist Ismail Al-Ghoul reports from a rooftop in Al-Shifa Hospital complex. All around the hospital and in other neighborhoods there is frequent and intense bombing. Instagram user faridaek provides a full English translation:
Gaza is now facing a number of violent raids in various areas - the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, the Tel Al-Hawa neighborhood, and the Sabra neighborhood. These areas are undergoing intense targeting. Raids are being repeated in Gaza City specifically, as well as the northern Gaza Strip and the entirety of northern Wadi Gaza. Currently, there is heavy and concentrated bombing in these areas. We do not know the exact nature of these strikes, but according to medical sources, a number of injuries have arrived at the Al-Shifa complex. We are waiting to find out the exact details of these strikes. In addition, naval warships have launched dozens of shells towards the coasts of the Gaza Strip. The bombing continues, and the death toll rises, with Gaza still under Israeli bombardment.
The Arabic text reads “غزة تحت القصف”, roughly translating to “Gaza under bombardment”.

Palestine Summary. March 9 to March 11, 2024.
From "Let's Talk Palestine" (Instagram Broadcast Channel), quote.
March 9
• 82 Palestinians killed, 122 injured in Gaza in past 24 hours

• Massacre in Nuseirat camp (central Gaza) kills 13+ Palestinians and many injured following Israeli destruction of a residential block, with the death toll expected to rise as many remain buried under rubble
🇸🇪🇨🇦 Sweden + Canada to resume UNRWA funding; Sweden to donate initial $20 million, with plans to allocate total of $400 million in 2024, while Canada set to resume funding in April
• 80% of homes in Gaza now “uninhabitable”, causing an estimated $30 billion in damages
• Anti-government protests in Tel Aviv calling for release of hostages + early elections, showing a growing disdain for the administration; met with clashes with the police
March 10.
• Gaza death toll surpasses 31,000, which doesn’t include the thousands buried under rubble
• Israeli forces deployed outside Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem attacked and beat Palestinians attempting to enter the mosque on eve of Ramadan, despite Israel’s claims of no additional restrictions on worshippers in first week of Ramadan. Previous years show increase in Israeli police raids & entry restrictions in Ramadan, with heightened restrictions a regular occurrence since Oct 7
• Israeli settlers establish outpost (unauthorized settlement illegal under Israeli law) in Ein al-Sakout in West Bank
🔻 Hamas claims drones dropped 2 missiles on Israeli command base in Beit Hanoun (north Gaza) + clashes in tunnel in Khan Younis (south Gaza) wounded & killed Israeli soldiers
🇺🇸 Biden says temporary Gaza seaport for aid will take 2 months to complete, despite criticism for US refusal to pressure Israel to permit aid entry through land crossings which is more immediate & efficient
March 11.
• 67 Palestinians killed, 106 injured in Gaza in past 24 hours
• As Ramadan begins with no ceasefire, Israel escalates attacks across Gaza as massacres in Gaza City killed 16 Palestinians in Sabra + 10 in Tal al-Hawa
• 2 children killed by malnutrition & dehydration in north Gaza as Israel continues obstructing aid distribution; a total of 27 killed by starvation
🌙 Gaza faces another level of hardship during Ramadan as fears mount following Israel’s increased attacks on Mosques + heightened police presence at entrance of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem while Palestinians brace for expected abuse & restrictions
🇺🇸 Politico: Biden considers conditioning military aid to Israel for first time if they invade Rafah; in addition to giving Israel until March 25 to ensure compliance with international law on use of US weapons. Unconfirmed if this will actually happen, but is a new marker of the unprecedented strain on relations
• IOF abducts 25 Palestinians overnight in West Bank
March 11 reminder.
Hi community,
Today marks the first day of the sacred Islamic month of Ramadan in Palestine.
Historically, Israel has made Ramadan a nightmare — many Palestinians feel a creeping anxiety as Ramadan approaches, knowing that Israel usually clamps down more than usual (to understand why, read our post www.instagram.com/p/Cqq4wYDttSY/?igsh=enhjYWllNG4xam9u)
But this Ramadan has come after 5 months of Israel’s genocidal campaign on Gaza, as Palestinians wage a relentless struggle to survive today and liberate tomorrow.
So please, donate to Gazans at linktr.ee/fundsforgaza.
Make sure to boycott Israeli dates (and produce in general).
Be respectful and remember that this is not a normal time.
May we draw strength from our communities as we support Palestinians in Gaza and continue the fight to disrupt our governments’ complicity in this genocide. We can’t afford to stop.
(End Quote)
