Absolutely, me too!

Dean would’ve been excited to set Cas up with a permanent room in the bunker, no question. But actually offering that? Ough, I can imagine plenty of moments when showing too much interest might've felt like laying all his cards on the table. (Though by season 12, Dean’s mindset has clearly shifted—Cas being in the bunker feels natural to him. “Whatever. Welcome home.”)

But his room? Oh, it's so classic and cute! It can even be a bit more neutral, if you quint. You can imagine how it might've started—almost like a nervous teenager wanting to show his crush his space.

We know that at some point, Dean quietly began building this fantasy of sharing his favorite things with Cas—movies, music, little pieces of his world. I can so totally imagine him getting his room "ready" for that, you know? And of course, he rationalizes what' he's actually doing—making a "Cas" side of the bed.

I mean. Sure, there are other tables and even his desk, but he’d think, What if we put on some tunes? Maybe he’ll want to stretch out over here. After all, the seat and couch get uncomfortable after a while, and I want him to hear the whole records. And if he has coffee, he’ll need somewhere to set it down.

can’t stop thinking about Marie reviving Kevin. does anyone ever manage to open the gates of Heaven again. does anyone even bother to tell Linda if they do. does Kevin lose more and more of himself as the years go on, and she’s forced to lose her son a second time. Linda carrying around a warded box with Kevin’s final tether in it so that he can’t accidentally hurt anyone, never knowing if it’s safe to release him from this world, if he won’t be worse trapped in the veil with no one to hold on to at all. one way or another, to love your child is to cage them.

(which is not to say that it’s her fault or even that she could have done anything differently. this is an impossible situation. this is something neither of them ever should have been forced to go through. her son is dead, and nothing can ever change that, and the best she can hope for is to hope that she can send him to heaven before she gets killed, too. because once an acquaintance of the winchesters, always a target for people who have a grudge against them. linda goes through. a lot. in the next few years. family is hell and all.)

the way this shakes out in my head is as a hunt. someone is using a ghost to kill people, and it becomes clear, very quickly, that this ghost is kevin. that someone stole him from linda. and the worst part is that kevin has been a spirit for years now and the magic keeping him under control is strong enough that he can barely tell what’s happening. to him, he’s lashing out to protect his mom, even though she’s not there and he’s just being used. it’s a horrifying fate. and “the only way to save him is to put him down, it’s mercy,” except they still don’t know if that’ll send him to Heaven or Hell or further into the Veil or worse.

and I am thinking about marie finding this little box, open because Kevin is being forced to attack the Winchesters, maybe even his mom, as they try to save him, and marie pulling out the ring his ghost is tied to, and marie, who listened so closely to Linda talking about her son, so proud of him and so torn apart by grief. I’m imagining this takes place early on, before Lucifer has had a chance to get to the twins, so all the family Marie has is the Winchesters, and Castiel, and Jack, and none of them are really her parents. Dean is hot-and-cold unable to connect, and Sam tries so hard to take care of the twins but can barely look them in the eyes most days, and Castiel prepared for a baby and got something else entirely, and Jack is. Well. Jack is someone she cannot imagine outliving, cannot conceive of a world without.

And so what I’m saying is that she’s holding that ring, and she’s supposed to destroy it, and she can’t. She can’t. Kevin’s spirit is here, and if she can fix it- if she can fix it. Jack elsewhere suddenly gulping down breaths because his heart is racing too fast and his power is being dragged from him into his sister’s hands, and realizing that this is how Marie felt when he brought back Castiel. She didn’t complain, so he grins and bears it. It is an awful, exhausting thing.

But Kevin lives. With all his memories of being a ghost, of losing himself, of being used as a weapon. He’s alive. He shouldn’t be, but he shouldn’t have died either. There’s a girl looking at him, who is his height and younger than him by more than a decade and needs this to have been a Good Thing she did.

at least he gets to hug his mom again.

which pairs really well w/an ye olde dev blog post i read abt their approach to immersion as well by trying to make the player feel like they Are the protagonist / doing what they would do, vs thinking of themself as just operating within the constraints of piloting a specific guy around, and had comments on what they chose to do to enhance this / what they think did or didn't work....sure noticed that frictional overall focuses on Story a lot, which i think is neat even if it comes at a tradeoff for how the game itself works sometimes, though the game serving the story and story serving the game works so well in a:tdd for sure, i also felt that the story did enough in the bunker, though the focus felt on the gameplay itself more so....it was funny hearing that apparently many players interpreted daniel's Read Aloud Diary Entries as being read aloud by him Now, Speaking in the Present, and would then be confused why he doesn't speak aloud to agrippa, though agrippa acts like daniel's responding....got the lore that agrippa was added fairly late in development, and that they considered removing the voiceover for diaries (which: noooo lol i love it. Eye didn't interpret it as [daniel is doing a dramatic reading for us Now] & it's so fun. but i note henri (& lambert's? i think) notes are Voiced Over in the bunker, so, win) or some different approach for agrippa (which, i also still really enjoy As Is imo, and sure interpret as either [imagine that daniel is speaking but we don't hear it] or [assuming agrippa is telepathic what with the mouth situation & we aren't hearing daniel's Thought Responses, which also aligns then with daniel just declining to have those thought responses for alexander lol)....talked abt Not doing cutscenes or anything where control was taken from the player, though there could be "reflexive" instances of forcing the View onto some event/item, and saying most ppl didn't mind this but they were wondering if even that was unnecessary....estimating that fifteen to thirty percent of players were annoyed by the Auditory Responses of daniel's reactions like, the heartbeat sfx, gasping, audible breathing, but to hell with them lol. i suppose i'd say that maybe daniel's Reactions like so were really what makes him feel very Present as a character, not as Necessarily an extension of the player, but (a) when Eye was playing i'd had the bonus confidence of enough familiarity via playthroughs to not be taken by surprise for the most part; the blog also said that Most Players were either neutral or felt daniel's noticeable reactions Enhanced the effects for them & (b) also Thee Story just serves to make daniel A Character in the first place, even if he didn't react thusly....but it'd be like, oh, gotta look after the guy separate from me, daniel, and make him feel a little better by standing in torchlight or collecting an item or something. but it's also like how it says in the video there, wherein this is Like having to mind your avatar's health stats. i realize I'm not wounded, but you find some laudanum about it (versus anything more like a Heal Kit lol. hangin in there), maybe I'm not crackling with fear rn, but i find daniel some light about it. and if i Was really in this creepy castle i Would be really quite scared i bet....you have to carry on....whilest it's also like, of course impossible to Ignore how well daniel's doing on that front, since even though he Doesn't become more easily found by enemies by any direct mechanic, having darkened shaky/blurry vision ft. hallucinations & that if you upset daniel enough he falls over for a few seconds = you really are in more danger b/c of all That....anyways obviously i like daniel's Presence as Past & Present character.

Teenage Panzerkorps were active in the early 2000s and sported Bunker Wolf (Karsten Scholl) on vocals. This sounds like The Fall or Savage Republic. I would add in any number of German speaking punk bands too. And sometimes the bass/guitar sounds like The Clean.

But this band WAS NOT really German - they were based in San Francisco. In fact, Glenn Donaldson (The Reds Pinks and Purples, Helpful People, Art Museums) is a key member of this band.

This double cassette (combining "Games For Slaves" and an assortment of singles) was issued by Wisconsin based label Brave Mysteries in 2020 and is currently sold out. But you can find Siltbreeze's LP release of "Games for Slaves" on Discogs for reasonable prices.

I always imagined their first kiss would be softer

Something done in private between the two of them, chaste and maybe even shy from both parties. For Dean because this is his first relationship with a man (Angel. Celestial wave length). For Cas because he's still unsure about how to handle such intense human emotions and Dean's softer behavior towards him

So their first kiss? I don't imagine sparks flying

No. I imagine a few shy pecks, goofy smiles, and soft laughs as they (mostly Dean) realizes how silly it must look for two men in their 40s (thousands of years old) to be kissing and giggling like shy teenagers in the privacy the bunker kitchen

The sparks happen when Dean decides to surprise his boyfriend

Teem Free Will 3.0 are at the beach for that well deserved vacation. Sam and Eileen are having an (unfair) chicken fight in the water with Donna and Clair, The rest of the wayward sisters are having a competitive volleyball match (That's getting very intense) while Castiel is standing off to the side with Jody, talking and observing their band of misfits.

Dean brought a grill and beer cooler and is making a hefty meal for everyone, all the while Jack is having way too much fun with the Polaroid he bought from the near by gift shop, documenting their official first 'day off'

It's in the middle of the day when Dean suddenly calls for Cas to come over, Jack hovering close by, Polaroid held up excitedly

"Do you need me to get more beer?" Castiel asks as he finds himself at Dean's side

"Nope. Just needed this" And without much fanfare, Dean wraps his arm around Cas's shoulders and brings him close to a smushed kissed on the cheek

This is the first time Dean has ever done such a bold display of public affection, and the sudden show of love makes Castiel's grace sing

It sang so loudly that the lens and flash of Jack's camera explodes along with several beer bottles around them. The fire in the grill bursts high, the volleyball pops midair, and thunder claps through the clear blue sky, joining the noise of car alarms going off in the parking lot

Cas was sure the gift shop windows and lights might've been destroyed too

"... A little dramatic for a cheek kiss, but I'm flattered"

The little stunt becomes a running joke for years, even after marriage. Dean was all too happy to remind Cas of the day

Though, despite the humiliation, Cas is glad Jack managed to capture the moment

And that moment Cas looks fondly at whenever he happens to look into Dean's wallet

Drones’ Development

Small intermission from comics + Educational info!

Preteen body in comparison with a “puberty” body (Uzi) and a teenage body (Doll). There’s an adult (Khan) and disassembly drones for reference, too

Uzi had just moved to a preteen body when everyone locked up at the bunker (In this AU Nori died when Uzi was 10).

Her “puberty” body had already been started when Nori died and Khan became obsessed over doors, so Uzi had to finish building it alone. It was a real headache, so she decided to skip her teen body (she knew her dad wouldn’t help her build it-). Soooo that’s why she’s smaller than the rest of her classmates

That’s, uh, a lot of info. I will consider drawing a timeline for main events in the future

Post canon spn where Dean opens up a bar that's very similar to the Roadhouse somewhere near the bunker, they start using as a hunter hideout. It becomes a spot for people to get into and out of the life.

Old hunters who lost too much are given work around town by Dean, teenagers seething with revenge get forced to work barkeeping jobs for a few months until they are granted access to the bunkers archive.

Cas starts doing community work, helping at homeless shelters and sits every night at the bar, sipping a drink while Dean rings up the register.

When Dean's finished closing up they drive to the bunker, where Sam has returned to taking care of the hunters needing resources, knowledge or an alibi.

The occasional emergency gets them out hunting again, but they like it, keeps them sharp. And they loved the hunt, learned to love it after being forced into the life, they had always been destined to lead.

Although Neil is the ‘Wendy’ character, Anais does not have a crush on him and he is not a teenager. Neil is 40 years old

In this episode, he only goes with Nicky and the Miniyards because he gets into an argument with Aaron(Andrew) and needs space from him

Anais is frustrated with Neil because it’s obvious he and Aaron(Andrew) have some tension but she still has some hope he’ll make up with her mother. Neil still tries to help her investigate the bunker

Anais realizes which one is Neil because he is not a punk ass bitch who’d ask for help from a 12 year old
