Dress

Teen Wolf Masterlist | Full Masterlist
Anonymous Request: So, like two days ago, I was reading some Stiles fics while listening to Reputation, and Dress came on and I audibly gasped when it got to the bridge. Like, I have no idea how I’ve never associated "Flashback when you met me, your buzzcut, and my hair bleached" with him, lol. So, I was wondering if you could write a Stiles x best friend! reader one-shot based on Dress? ❤️❤️❤️
Summary: As cliche as it sounds, you fell in love with Stiles' spastic personality and his keen eye for evidence. Of course, you never acted on these feelings, until Stiles invited you to a party his friend was throwing.
A/N: Yes!! This is perfect!! Enjoy, love!!
Notes:
Y/N/N: Your Nick Name
Your Sister -> Lydia Martin
Warnings: none
Stiles Stilinski x-reader
"Okay, so," Lydia paused, "What do you think of this one?" My sister turned to look at me with a lace dress in hand. She kept it on the hanger, setting it on the doorknob of her closet. Lydia had been helping for the past hour to find a dress for the party Stiles invited me to. And, of course, Lydia kept pestering me about my harbored feelings for my best friend.
I continued to tell her that it was nothing but a thought that popped into my head, but that was the complete opposite. That thought didn't just pop into my head. It was in my head almost every day. I knew I shouldn't think about him like that, but I couldn't help it. And, what made it worse, is he probably didn't feel the same.
Our secret moments in your crowded room They got no idea about me, and you There is an indentation in the shape of you Made your mark on me, a golden tattoo
Lydia always said that it wouldn't hurt to ask, yet in this case, it would. If I did ask, I'd risk rejection and possibly my dignity. Lydia turned around again to see me thinking to myself. "Hello, Earth to Y/N," Lydia waved her hand. I looked up at her to see her holding yet another dress with gold heels in her other hand.
"I'll go with the first one," I said.
She smiled and put the white dress back into her closet. Lydia walked over to where I sat, setting the dress on the bed. My sister clapped her hands together. "I'm so excited for you," Lydia said, sitting down beside me. "It's just a party," I shrugged, playing with the frayed edge of her comforter.
She looked at me with raised brows, her arms crossed. Lydia leaned against the headboard of her bed. "It's not just a party, Y/N/N," she said, "It's a party that the guy you like invited you to." I rolled my eyes at her comment. "Stiles and I are just friends. Nothing more," I said.
All of this silence and patience, pining in anticipation My hands are shaking from holding back from you All of this silence and patience, pining and desperately waiting My hands are shaking from all this
My sister rolled her eyes and stood up from the bed. She walked over to her dresser, grabbing the heels and purse to put them beside the dress. "So, you're telling me all those stolen glances, touches on the shoulder, finding pieces of fuzz in your hair, and winks," Lydia said, "Have nothing to do with your feelings? Because last I checked, those actions are 'more than friends' actions."
I shook my head, beginning to lose this conversation for a second. "Fine," I sighed, "Maybe I like him a little bit. And, maybe, I sort of, chose that red dress because red is his favorite color." Her eyes widened at that part of my sentence. I didn't do a very good job of muttering my response. Lydia gasped slightly, applauding herself.
Say my name, and everything just stops I don't want you like a best friend Only bought this dress so you could take it off Carve your name into my bedpost 'Cause I don't want you like a best friend Only bought this dress so you could take it off
"I think you did more than just pick his favorite color," Lydia winked. She nudged my shoulder, causing me to nudge her back. She grabbed my hands and brought me up from the bed. "Let's get you ready," she said. I sat down in front of her vanity.
Lydia stood behind me, looking at my hair to see what she wanted to do. We decided to keep it the way it was, but she insisted on curling it just a little bit. It took a few minutes until Lydia was done helping me get ready.
I waited on her bed as she got herself together. She and Aiden were going together after she found out that me and Stiles were attending. She wore her favorite black dress, matched with a pair of silver heels. The two of us got our things together before walking downstairs.
I was excited about the party, but part of me was even hesitant about going. But I knew that if I didn't go, I'd regret it. It didn't take long till Stiles' jeep and Aiden's motorcycle pulled into the driveway.
Inescapable, I'm not even gonna try And if I get burned, at least we were electrified I'm spilling wine in the bathtub You kiss my face, and we're both drunk Everyone thinks that they know us But they know nothing about
+++++++
(Later That Night)
The party was going great. Nothing had happened, which meant that nothing had happened between me and Stiles. Lydia and Aiden were somewhere at the party. While Stiles and I stayed side by side. Claire, the host of the party, also was somewhere in the party. She had said her hellos and then left with her boyfriend.
We sat at one of the tables, watching as some of the partygoers walked past us and danced horribly. I saw Stiles try to hide his laugh as some guy tripped over his feet. It had been silent between the two of us, but it was nice.
The thought of confessing to Stiles kept going in and out of my head.
All of this silence and patience, pining in anticipation My hands are shaking from holding back from you All of this silence and patience, pining and desperately waiting My hands are shaking from all this
Lydia might've been right like she always claims she is. She always said that it was exhausting watching me keep my feelings to myself. "Hey, Y/N," Stiles said. I looked away from the ground to look at him. He smiled (GIF Above).
Stiles was wearing his favorite blue and red flannel, which Lydia claimed he only wore when I was around because I said I liked it once.
He stood up from the table and extended a hand. "C'mon," Stiles said, "We're at a party, let's go." I smiled and set my hand into his. He twirled me around as the two of us walked over to the middle of the room where everyone else was dancing.
Say my name and everything just stops I don't want you like a best friend Only bought this dress so you could take it off Carve your name into my bedpost 'Cause I don't want you like a best friend Only bought this dress so you could take it off
My hands rested on his shoulders as his hands were on my waist. He smiled down at me. Stiles lifted a hand to push some hair away from my face. I'll admit, I was never planning on falling in love with my best friend. So much that I told myself I never would, but here we are.
Stiles and I met in middle school, me with the bleached hair and him with his buzzcut. Of course, the first thing he said to me was something about my hair. Me and Lydia had done some hair experiments the night before, and I sadly got the horrible aftermath.
And that's where the friendship began. Stiles and I started hanging out almost every day after school and every weekend. We'd hang out at the arcade in town and sometimes at the forest lookout. Then when we started high school, that's when things changed.
Typically, everyone changes in high school, but this felt different. I started to notice things about how I felt about Stiles. I noticed how I'd smile at his stupid jokes or how I would purposefully say I didn't understand something just so I could be beside him.
It didn't matter if we were best friends, I just cared about being with him. And, some part of me knew that he felt the same. Stiles stayed with me even in my worst times and during my best times.
Even in my worst lies You saw the truth in me And I woke up just in time Now I wake up by your side My one and only, my lifeline
Now, we were in our last year of high school, graduation just a few weeks ahead. Stiles' hand lingered on the side of my face. His thumb ran across my cheek. I looked up at him, leaning into his touch. "You okay?" he asked, "Y/N?"
Say my name and everything just stops I don't want you like a best friend Only bought this dress so you could take it off Carve your name into my bedpost 'Cause I don't want you like a best friend Only bought this dress so you could take it off
I nodded. I couldn't stop my gaze from drifting from his eyes to his lips. Stiles seemed to notice because I spotted a smirk rising on his freckled face. Stiles leaned down, giving me a soft kiss. I felt his hand leave my face to rest back on my waist. He lightly brought me towards him.
He pulled apart, arms still around me with my hands remaining on his shoulders. Stiles smiled down at me. "Wanna get out of here?" he asked, his voice slightly at a low. I nodded in response. He smirked and kissed me on the cheek before grabbing my hand.
When leaving the party, Lydia spotted me from the other side. She brought a thumbs up and winked at me. I chuckled and followed Stiles to his Jeep.
There is an indentation in the shape of you Only bought this dress so you could take it off You made your mark on me, golden tattoo Only bought this dress so you could take it off

cannot get over season two of teen wolf having a full scene near the end of the season where Stiles has a pseudo therapy session with the guidance counselor and he talks about how he goes through every day like a perpetual panic attack, and how terrified he is that everything's just going to get worse. how he feels like he's drowning and he thinks it's pointless to suffer more pain for the risk of something better. how he is and has been exhibiting symptoms of PTSD and is having really bad nightmares. the kid is already so messed up aT SEASON TWO
and then that's it thats the only real time we see stiles have a one on one therapy session with someone the REST KF THE SHOW
and it does indeed GET WORSE. AND YET

i’m late to the party it is wildly out of fashion has anyone mentioned that Isaac’s meeting with Scott in s2e11 parallels Scott’s meeting with Allison in the pilot
like Allison meets Scott for the first time one on one emotionally connects over an injured dog at the vet Scott shows her how to pet it (to TRUST) Allison’s like I can’t believe I’m crying rn after this emotionally traumatizing event (get my girl out of the 2010s not like the other girls box PLEASE) Scott’s like no dw I would cry too (he said toxic masculinity who I’m rizzing up a girl rn everyone say thank you Scott McCall) and then in s2 Isaac comes to the vet to talk to Scott (dare I say first time they directly emotionally connect dare I say first one on one intentional for a reason moment) and they’re talking over/about an injured dog and Isaac gets shown how to pet it and to help it and he starts crying a little Scott says I cried too (RIZZ⁉️ hello this was crazy wdym you have one way to flirt) and he says because I trust you. can anyone hear me

Media References in Teen Wolf (pt. 1)
I’m thinking of starting a series about the stuff I’ve read or watched that were shown in the series that were relevant to the themes of series.
Starting with the first thing I read:
A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
The cover of this book was given a close up in season 3 episode 12 when Rafael McCall is sitting in Scott’s room while the kids are trying to safe their parents from the Darach.
It is one of the books Scott read over the summer which I think greatly impacts his views on ‘justified’ violence and righteous dogmas that perpetuate throughout the entire series but especially here through Deucalion and Julia Bacchari.
This book represents the theme of cyclical violence that pervades the entire series but especially season 3A. Specifically how such violence only escalates, leading to more pain, strife and casualties. The book being in Scott's room serves to illuminate our understanding of him and the realisation he has of the violence around him.
(Take a shot for every time I say violence)
To be rudely brief, this book tells a tale of the French Revolution (it’s origins and motivations), but centres around the people caught in the cross-hairs.
The main characters (relevant to this analysis) are:
Doctor Manette (The face of the French Revolution, a former prisoner of the Bastille. Incarcerated for 18 years due to a false allegation given by Marquis St. Evrémonde)
Lucy Manette (A devoted daughter, recently reunited with her father, Dr. Manette, after his incarceration)
Charles Darnay (A former French noble who relinquished his titles and wealth to live peacefully and frugally in England. He later marries Lucy and they have a young daughter together)
Marquis St. Evrémonde (Uncle to Charles Darnay. A tyrannical noble responsible for the death and torture of many working-class french citizens and the reason for Dr. Manette’s incarceration)
Madame Defarge (An unassuming yet crucial member of the revolution. She experienced the death and torture of her family under St. Evrémonde’s hands and uses her pain as fuel to enact revenge. Her and her husband nursed Dr. Manette back to health after his imprisonment)
Sydney Carton (A listless, depressed legal aide based in London with an uncanny resemblance to Charles Darnay, and in love with Lucy Manette)
The revolution consists of two waring parties, the nobles, and the working-class revolutionaries. Both parties used their own ideologies to justify the violence they caused.
The marquis thought it was his god-given right, and that inciting fear was what secured him to his power, wealth, and safety. Whenever something bad happened to them, nobles used it to argue for the necessity of their violence.
This mirrors Deucalion and his pack who use Gerard’s actions to justify using fear as a means ensuring their safety, but also have no qualms about threatening, maiming and killing for their entertainment/benefit as they think it is their right as powerful beings.
The revolutionaries, specifically Madame Defarge justifies her violence as part of an uprising. It is the accumulation of the violence she and the other revolutionaries have faced and they feel that the only way they can be recompensed is through bloodshed. You agree with them after hearing their stories but quickly grow horrified as they begin sacrificing working-class servants, helpers, nannies and children. It is seen as the "lesser evil" against the powerful nobles.
In their quest for liberation, they end up jeopardising the life of their own hero, Dr. Manette, and his family. Madame Defarge does this by orchestrating the incarceration of Charles Darnay and plans to execute him for his noble blood, Lucy for marrying him, and finally to execute their young child (for her noble blood).
She mimics Julia Bacchari almost entirely as they both sacrifice innocent, blameless people in their quest to defeat their true oppressors.
Just as the revolution (as depicted in the book) is perverted into senseless propaganda which ultimately endangers the victims of nobility (the Manettes), Julia’s motivations turn void as she begins endangering the lives of the Alpha Pack's other victims (Boyd, Isaac, Derek, Scott, and Melissa).
The pinnacle of this parallel occurs when Derek says to Julia (after her big sacrifice yap-fest):
“Stop talking to me like a politician. Stop trying to convince me of your cause.”
As for the others, they are not a part of the war. Doctor Manette (though face of the revolution) only seeks peace, quiet and recovery with his newly reunited family. This reminds me of Derek, who is seen by Julia as a partner though he wishes no part in the conflict. Like the doctor towards the nobles, Derek hates Deucalion, but cannot use his hatred to fully take part in Julia’s destruction. Though he stands by Julia at some point, it is more that he is trapped due to Julia’s idealisation of him (just as the Revolutionaries idolised Dr. Manette).
In the book, Charles Darney is in the middle of the two parties, yet fundamentally separated from both of them, very similar to Scott.
Darnay is noble by blood but abhors all that it represents. He loves and marries into the Manette family, and even teaches french in London due to the love of his country, yet he cannot sit by as the Revolutionaries try to execute his former family servant.
Though Scott is not yet an alpha, he is regarded as one. He also has responsibility over others as an alpha (*cough* noble *cough*) does. Despite this, he is fundamentally against everything the Alpha Pack represents and his unwillingness to promote the system acts as a threat to what the Alpha Pack preaches.
On the other hand, he, like Julia, is a victim to the cruelty of alphas, yet does not use his victimhood as a justification for more violence, rendering Julia’s ideologies just as sloppy as Deucalion’s as she also fails to proselytise him. In the end Scott is basically shoved into Deucalion's corner as Julia jeopardises his family (just as the revolutionaries jeopardise Darney's family).
Now for my beloved Sydney Carton (this is going to be the most reductionistic analysis of this character, but alas, this meta is about teen wolf). This man, for his love of Lucy's happiness and all that it represents, bribes his way into Darnay's prison and forcefully changes their places so that he can die in Darnay's stead. His execution serves as a distraction to ensure the Darnay and Manette family's safe passage back to England (much like Scott distracting Julia until the lunar eclipse fades to save the lives of the parents). He represents true sacrifice and (though it sounds cheesy) the power of love. It is his love that spurs him into action after a life of passivity. It is his sacrifice that ensures that peace (the conciliation of the Manette's and the St. Evrémonde blood line) can exist, that violence in spite of pain can be rejected.
Derek willingly loses his power, status and safety for the love of his Cora. Scott thrusts himself upon mountain to save the parents, essentially sacrificing himself (Remember when he says: "I did it once, but it almost killed me"). The kids actually sacrifice themselves to prevent more, irreparable blood shed.
Scott (and essentially his entire pack + Derek but I want to focus on Scott's book in Scott's room), is a victim of the war in which he really should have no part in. But unlike Deucalion- and Julia's other victims, he willingly sacrifices himself in the hopes of, like Sydney Carton, ensuring a better future with the redemptive powers of love.
I believe that if Scott had died then, he would've, as Carton, “see[n] the lives for which [he] lay[s] down his life”

Teen Wolf Masterlist | Full Masterlist
Summary: You and Isaac have been together for two years. You had your fair share of ups and downs, but lately, it seemed that these little 'ups and downs' repeated themselves no matter the apologies. You tried to convince yourself that nothing was happening, but part of you knew that that wasn't the case. With the help of your older brother, it took just one discussion to understand what was going on between you and Isaac Lahey.
A/N: I don't know if I like this one very much. I had a bit of a hard time trying to write this one, so I'm hoping it's not confusing. Enjoy!!
Notes:
Y/N/N: Your Nick Name
Derek Hale -> Your Older Brother

Isaac Lahey x-reader
"You can't just admit that you were wrong, huh?" Isaac said, his arms crossed. After seeing a movie with Scott and Kira, an argument had spurred involving something pretty stupid. My boyfriend's motorcycle was almost out of gas. I recommended going to a gas station near the theater so we could just head to my house after.
My knuckles were bruised like violets Sucker-punching walls, cursed you as I sleep-talked Spineless in my tomb of silence Tore your banners down, took the battle underground And maybe it was ego swinging Maybe it was her Flashes of the battle come back to me in a blur
Isaac insisted on going to the gas station a little bit a ways. That caused us to be stranded on the side of the road. "None of this is my fault. If we had just stopped at the gas station like I said, we wouldn't be stuck on this street," I said. He rolled his eyes when I gestured to the road.
A few cars passed, not bothering to ask if we needed help. I grabbed my phone to call Derek. Neither of us felt like involving a tow truck. "What're you doing?" Isaac asked. "Calling Derek," I clicked on my brother's contact. It rang for a few seconds before my brother picked up on the other end.
"You two were supposed to be home ten minutes ago," Derek said. I could tell that he was aggravated. Before leaving for the double date, my brother offered to stay up until we got home. I insisted that that wasn't necessary, of course, he did it anyway.
Isaac leaned against his bike with his arms crossed. He set his hands into his leather jacket, looking both ways on the street. "We're stuck on Martin Street," I said. Derek stopped what he was doing. I heard a pan hit the corner of the kitchen island. "What?" he said.
"Somebody decided not to get gas," I remarked, glaring at Isaac. Isaac scoffed and shook his head. Derek sighed on the other end of the line. "I'm on my way. Hang tight," he said. He hung up the phone. I dropped my cell phone into my purse, going back to hug my arms from the cold.
I stood beside him. His eyes were focused on the damp grass. He watched a few of the drops fall to the side of the green blades. I looked up at Isaac's expression. His brows were furrowed, small creases forming at the top of his forehead.
The two of us had been arguing more than usual. It seemed like we could never settle on something. Just last week, we had an argument about who should help Scott with something. Isaac wanted me to stay with him whereas I wanted to help Scott. Then, an argument sparked.
We haven't talked about that since last Thursday. The more days that passed, the more I worried our two-year-long relationship was ending. Peter liked to call arguments in relationships 'the great war.' I never really understood it.
All that bloodshed, crimson clover Uh-huh, the sweet dream was over My hand was the one you reached for All throughout the Great War
Isaac's hands gripped the bike's seat. I debated on setting a hand on top of his, wanting to reassure him that everything would be okay. "Why didn't we just call a tow company?" Issac spoke. He took his hands off the bike so I couldn't hold him. "We'd probably have to pay a fee or something," I said. Isaac nodded.
He looked like he wanted to debate my statement but decided against it. I opened my mouth to speak but was stopped by headlights heading in our direction. I turned to the left and saw Derek's truck. He got out of the truck.
"I've got some gas at the loft. Isaac, we can fill it up when we get there," Derek said. Isaac nodded. The two grabbed Isaac's bike and put it into the bed of the truck. Derek must've noticed the tension between me and Isaac. I went to step into the front seat but was stopped when Derek wrapped his hand around my wrist.
Always remember Uh-huh, tears on the letter I vowed not to cry anymore If we survived the Great War
He looked at me with raised brows, expecting an answer. "It's fine," I said. "Doesn't look fine," Derek let go. I fixed my purse and glanced at Isaac. Isaac sat in the back seat with his arms crossed, his head resting against the window. "It's nothing," I insisted.
Derek dropped it. I got into the front seat and he began driving home. It was quiet during the car ride. Derek occasionally changed the radio until he decided he got tired of listening to music. Though, I'd much rather listen to the radio than sit in silence. I was so happy to see the loft come into view.
After a few minutes, Isaac's bike was filled up with gas. Isaac decided to stay the night since it was already so late. Derek said his goodnight and went to his room. I laid awake with Isaac beside me, his back facing me. Isaac hadn't spoken to me since we got home. I watched his shoulders rise up and down as he breathed.
My mind kept returning to our past arguments. I ran a hand over my face, trying to push the images away. "Isaac, are you asleep?" I whispered. "Trying to," he replied, his voice muffled from the pillow. He flipped so his back was against the mattress. I rested my hands underneath my head, propping me up slightly.
"Are we breaking?" I asked. Isaac's brows furrowed at my question. He sat up, now leaning up against the headboard. "Because I feel like we are," I claimed. Isaac ran a hand through his hair before lowering his hand. He took my hand into his. "Isaac, I can't help but think that these past arguments are catching up to us," I said.
You drew up some good-faith treaties I drew curtains closed, drank my poison all alone You said I have to trust more freely But diesel is desire, you were playin' with fire
Six months ago, Isaac and I had disagreed with something, causing us to shout out accusations. I pulled away, afraid that it might happen again. I guess that should've been a clue that it might. His face softened. Isaac shook his head, letting my hand go. Maybe he didn't want to think about it? Or, maybe he just didn't want to admit it?
And maybe it's the past that's talkin' Screamin' from the crypt Tellin' me to punish you for things you never did So I justified it
"We're not breaking," he shook his head again, "If we were, I wouldn't be laying in bed with you. And I wouldn't have stuck with you for this long." He grabbed my hand, kissing my knuckles. Isaac looked at the chipped nail polish on my fingers. I sat up in the bed, my shoulder brushing against the pillow and headboard.
Isaac looked at every spot on my face, settling on a small scar on my cheek. He ran a finger over the scar, leaving his hand on the side of my face. I leaned into his touch. "I don't want to be a survivor of this great war," I said, "I don't want these arguments to continue. I want to fix this, I want to fix us." Isaac kissed my forehead.
He put his arms around me, bringing me into his chest. Isaac laid back down with me beside him. "There's no fixing us. We're okay, love, we're okay," Isaac mumbled. I knew I should believe him, I know I should, but there's a little voice inside my head that says I shouldn't.
_________
(Three Days Later - In the School Parking Lot)
Isaac followed me to my car, yelling. I brought out my keys. "Holy shit, Isaac. It wasn't that deep," I argued. I threw my backpack into the backseat. I opened the driver-side door, setting my water bottle and keys into the cup holder. I looked at him over my shoulder. "Oh don't give me that fucking look Y/N," he spat.
All that bloodshed, crimson clover Uh-huh, the bombs were close and My hand was the one you reached for All throughout the Great War
I was taken aback by his choice of words. My expression changed immediately. "I didn't do anything wrong," I said, "I was talking to Aiden, there was nothing there." Isaac scoffed, following me with his eyes. He grabbed my wrist but I yanked my arm out of his grasp. "What the hell is wrong with you? Don't you trust me?" I said.
He nodded in response. Isaac shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "Do you? Because lately, it doesn't feel like that," I replied, "Y/N do this, Y/N don't do that. Y/N you shouldn't talk to him, you shouldn't talk to anyone other than me. Y/N, stop telling me what to do." I felt people's eyes on us, but I didn't pay any attention to them.
Isaac noticed small tears begin to form. "It's like you don't trust me anymore," I said, "It's like you've fallen out of love, and I have no idea why." He thought to himself for a second, not knowing what or how to say it. I waited for what felt like forever before getting into my car.
"Wait, Y/N/N," Isaac held the car door. I tried ripping his hand off the frame, but he was stronger than me. "I haven't fallen out of love for you," Isaac said. "Then, what is it?" I asked. His mouth opened, but no words came out. "Nothing? Absolutely nothing?" I continued, "Not one word?"
His eyes dropped to the concrete. I wiped a tear and got into my car. I was able to shut the door just as Isaac let go of it. He watched me pull out of the lot.
________
(Later That Night)
The TV played one of Derek's favorite reality shows. I yawned with my head against the couch cushion. Derek had gotten back from god knows what. All I knew was that he brought home groceries. He sat beside me, eating some mac n' cheese Peter surprisingly made.
Derek nudged my shoulder, noticing that I had been quiet all evening. "What's wrong?" he inquired. "Nothing," I replied, not taking my focus away from the show. Derek paused the show and set the remote on the armrest.
"Y/N, I think you forget that I'm a werewolf," Derek said, resting an arm on the back of the couch. "Isaac and I are arguing. Like, nonstop," I informed. Derek's brows narrowed in confusion. He always thought that me and Isaac were okay.
But I guess looks can be deceiving. He motioned for me to continue. "I honestly don't even know why," I shrugged, "One month, we just started disagreeing on every single thing. And, I've searched my mind for any damn reason, but nothing speaks out. I have tried desperately to think what Isaac might be thinking. When I ask, I get the same answer."
Derek nodded as I spoke. I wiped a stray tear away. I hated crying in front of people, especially in front of the person who would quite literally kill anyone who got in my way.
It turned into something bigger Somewhere in the haze, got a sense I'd been betrayed Your finger on my hairpin triggers Soldier down on that icy ground Looked up at me with honor and truth
"Derek, it's changed," I looked at him. His face fell at the state of my eyes. "I feel like I should break up with him," I added, "Because I can't continue thinking that everything is going to end right then and there. I can't continue arguing with him, it just breaks me and Isaac."
Broken and blue, so I called off the troops That was the night I nearly lost you I really thought I had lost you
Derek nodded again. He opened his arms, gesturing for me to hug him. He gave me a reassuring squeeze. Derek let go of me, his hands resting on my shoulders. "You can try to piece everything together, maybe say a little prayer, even," Derek said, "But there's no victory in this. Just like you said."
He paused and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. Derek fixed my t-shirt before continuing. "It's not fair to either of you. Those terrible moments that the two of you have are embedded in your relationship. You can't go back, neither of you can. You've said things that can't be returned," Derek finished.
Derek kissed my forehead and gave me a much-needed hug. For the rest of the night, we talked about my situation and watched the rest of his show.
________
(The Next Day, at the loft)
After last night's talk with Derek, I decided to call Isaac over. He was happy that I called him since we hadn't talked since yesterday. Isaac sat in front of me with his hands sitting in his lap. He stared at me (GIF Above) as I played with my fingers, chipping off the polish.
Isaac reached an arm out and took my hands. I looked up at his eyes, feeling like there was some part of him that knew what was coming. And then, I began to regret what I was about to do. I still loved him, and he still loved me.
"Isaac," I cleared my throat, "I've thought this over and over again, but I can't think of a better way to tell you this." I let go of his hand, going back to picking at the chipped nail polish. Isaac nodded and sat up in his spot.
To that bloodshed, crimson clover Uh-huh, the worst was over My hand was the one you reached for All throughout the Great War
Isaac let out a heavy sigh, nodding his head. "I know," he said, "I know what you're about to say, Y/N. You don't have to say it." I looked away from the ground, feeling his eyes land on me. I felt a wave of relief wash over me, but it slowly faded. "You shouldn't regret it," Isaac said.
Uh-huh, we're burned for better I vowed I would always be yours 'Cause we survived the Great War
"I'm sorry," I said. "Why're you sorry?" he replied. Isaac's voice was soft and gentle as he spoke. "Because I hurt you," I croaked, swallowing the lump in my throat. Isaac shook his head and hugged me tightly.
"We hurt each other," he clarified, "But I'll always love you, Y/N. I hope you know that." I nodded with my head against his chest. He set one last kiss on my head.
I would always be yours 'Cause we survived the Great War Uh-huh I vowed I would always be yours

I don’t think a dom/sub relationship/situation works for Sterek.
Don’t get me wrong, sterek has to be one of my favourite ships of all time, the chemistry’s there, the saving each other is there, it just works.
But looking into both of their pasts? Neither role works for them.
Dom Derek? Absolutely not, he would be constantly worried he was acting too much like Kate, hurting Stiles, having too much power over him, etc, also might worry about the age gap and believe he’s preying on Stiles like Kate did to him.
Sub Derek? Nope as well, would remind him too much of Kate. He would most likely have this idea in his head that he’s allowing someone control over him again and look where that got him last time? With most of his family dead.
Dom Stiles? Yeah, no. The Nogitsune. Need I say more? He’s terrified of ever having power over people again. Last time he had the power to actually do something? Look at how many people he killed. (Of course we know it wasn’t actually him but have you seen his guilt complex?)
Sub Stiles? No. He was literally possessed, lost all control over his own body for months. I just don’t think he would be able to give up that control again willingly, even with someone he loves and trusts with everything he has.
This was just a bit of fun with a character study and rest assured I will still read all of these dynamics 🤭
Sterek is eternal!

the experiment from 2x05 makes me SO MAD for no reason but like. that's OBJECTIVELY an awful experiment
you could fuck up on EVERY STAGE and then switch and still get a good grade because of everyone who had that table before you
alternatively you could do the experiment perfectly but because you're moving stations the whole time, you end up with something garbage because of someone else
like. I know the end of the scene with Scott and Stiles' fucked up experiment is meant to be an indication of them being so preoccupied with keeping everyone safe and alive that their school life suffers but like. NEITHER OF THEM WERE THERE THEY WERENT EVEN PARTNERS THE WHOLE TIME WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY FAILED THE EXPERIMENT THERES ABSOLUTELY NO WAY TO GAUGE IF THEY WERE THE ONES TO FUCJ UP
for an experiment to be good you need to have ONE VARIABLE while everything else is the same. but for EVERY turn, EVERY partner changes EVERY table. why

Some years ago I read some Teen Wolf fanfic with a tag 'Stiles see ghosts', and fell in love with the idea
So my brain came up with their own fic of that tag, with them older and post-canon, but there was a problem:
I couldn't just write post-canon, because if Stiles saw ghosts during all of it, a lot of small things would change, and I hate the "Let's make a werewolf series where the pack is the most important thing then kill half of it" so I refuse to write that.
And that's how I ended up writing a fix-it fic from the beginning, where I tried to change only the minor things and keep the plot, but now have 70k words by the end of season two, where plot of the beginning of season three had already fallen apart, and half of some of the others seasons too... like I just fixed one thing and then one entire season disappeared like, it is that easy???
