Super Dead Soulmates
In this universe, any injury or scar you sustain appears on your soulmate. However, for as long as he could remember, Danny never gained an injury that wasn’t his own. When he was very young, his parents would always say that he was just a late bloomer and perhaps his soulmate was a few years younger than he was and thus, just wasn’t born yet. As Danny grew older, they got more absorbed in their work and just seemed to forget about the whole ordeal. Danny never asked them about it again, afraid they might think a ghost had ‘cursed’ him or something. It was hard enough to hide the lack of additional scars at school. Luckily, most people don’t get injured very often so it was easy enough to play off some of his injuries as that from a soulmate. The only ones who knew the truth were his sister and his best friends. Danny was just convinced that he didn’t have a soulmate and had accepted that fact, even if it hurt. Then the accident happened and for once, he was thankful his soulmate wouldn’t have to feel his pain. And even more so when he started to fight the other ghosts daily. Danny was content to live like this, but with more ghost fights, his injuries started piling up. Danny excused them saying that they were from his soulmate. It didn’t completely get rid of the scrutiny but most people bought it. Afterall, how else would puny Fenton get those kinds of bruises? So for a while, that excuse worked…until someone realized that Danny and Phantom’s injuries linked up (I vote Wes). Now normally, the natural conclusion would be that Danny and Phantom were the same person. But due to the fact that one of them was dead and the other clearly alive, everyone gained a new theory…that Phantom was Danny’s soulmate. It would explain the recent injuries as Phantom was often seen fighting other ghosts. And to be honest, this was the perfect cover. It’s not like Danny had an actual soulmate who might show up and this added another layer of protection against people thinking he and Phantom were the same person. So Danny remained silent and let the rumors grow. Sure people now thought he and Phantom were dating but that was fiiiiiinnnneee. (But BOY was that an awkward conversation with his parents).
And then Kon was born.
As a clone, all he knew from the outside was implanted into his mind. He knew the color of the sky, the sound of music, academic equations and a lot of common knowledge such as soulmates. He knew that injuries were shared between a bonded pair and that everyone had a soulmate. But he was different. He wasn't born a baby and grew up alongside another person. He wasn’t even real according to some people. Yet one day, he noticed bruises lining his arms, he was confused. He should have had impenetrable skin like Superman. As far as he could remember, his skin had never been pierced before. And it’s not like he fought a godlike being that day. He shouldn’t have any injuries. Kon decided to ignore them but the injuries kept showing up. It got so bad that his team started to notice and sat him down asking if everything was alright with his powers or if he was exposed to kryptonite somehow. So, very confused, Kon had explained that the injuries just kept showing up. It was only after his team gave him a curious look and explained the concepts of soulmates did everything click with him. Sure, Kon knew about soulmates but surely that couldn't be what this was! He was a clone! He shouldn’t have a soulmate. It was impossible! But after a few more days of observation and a bit of testing, everyone determined that this was, in fact, a soulmate bond.
To say Kon was ecstatic was an understatement. Actually, it was a mix of excitement, nervousness, worry, and joy all rolled into one. He was elated at the idea that he had someone meant for him. Someone who would accept all of him. Kon had looked at the others and there had always been a slight jealousy when he saw a paper cut bloom on their fingers or see them rub a bruised knee fondly.
But more than anything. He was happy because this was proof that he was real. Afterall, a soulmate wouldn’t match with him unless his soul was equal to theirs. His body almost melted with relief at that realization. A weight off his shoulders he never fully grasped was still there.
Of course there was the worry of why exactly his soulmate had so many injuries. For a hero, it was obvious they would get injured (although they tried to have as much protective padding as possible to limit that possibility. But some injuries still got through.) Yet the amount of injuries Kon’s soulmate sustained were far more than that (because Danny lacked proper padding and didn’t think he had to worry about a soulmate. Most injuries looked worse than they were anyways due to his fast healing). And on the contrary, Kon’s skin was perfectly clear. With his kryptonian biology, even if he got hurt, it never left a mark. So all the injuries and bruises sustained on him were purely from his soulmate. And there was enough for two people. On the bright side, it helped with his cover, on the downside, Kon started to worry about his soulmate. (Meanwhile, Danny didn’t notice a difference. Sure, sometimes he would feel a temporary ache or sharp pain but no mark was left so he just assumed the pain was sore muscles from a previous battle or that one of his rogues were hitting harder than he thought.)
As for Kon, he and his team used every resource at their disposal to try and track down Kon’s soulmate. They did this for every member of the team as hero soulmates were in more danger than most but they paid special attention to Kon’s soulmate due to the rapid accumulation of injuries.
Kon would fantasize on what his soulmate would be like. Would they be tall? Short? They would probably be able to fight. Boy or girl? It doesn't really matter. Kon knew opposite gender soulmates were more common but he wouldn’t mind a guy either. His days were filled with dreams of a mystery person. Someone he could hold in his arms and protect. Who would comfort him after patrols and who he could introduce to his friends.
After a while, Tim finally found a lead. Some doctor records of a boy in a small town called Amity. Apparently he was prescribed pain medicine to help with ‘soulmate injuries’. The lost of injuries were extensive and after looking at some pictures, they realized that his scars and Kon’s scars lined up. A perfect match. So it wasn’t long before they made a quick road trip to Amity.
This place was already on the Justice League radar. It was a town that appears to have a permanent portal to the afterlife and was attacked often. (Which might explain why Kon’s soulmate was so injured). The Justice League had not interfered yet because the town had a local hero as well. Someone who seemed good at his job and who Tim was even thinking of recruiting. So this was a good opportunity to hit two birds with one stone. Afterall, not much was known about this mysterious Phantom other than he dedicated his afterlife to protecting this one town. Once they got to Amity they would probably need to check in with Phantom before anything. And despite his impatience with finding the person who might be his soulmate, even Kon was excited to meet this hero. Apparently Phantom had vast experience but also a major power set. He might gain another flying buddy or someone he could wrestle with without worrying about his strength. Afterall, Phantom also supposedly had super strength and even if he didn’t, it’s not like you can kill a ghost. Yet no matter how hard they looked, they couldn’t find him. It was only by coincidence that they stumbled upon Danny instead and his group of friends.
The first time Kon saw Danny, it was like coming home. He wanted to do nothing more than rush to his soulmate and hug him and vow to always keep him safe. He wanted to prove that he would be the best soulmate ever and he wanted to know everything there was to know about him. He was practically vibrating where he stood in his civilian disguise and it was only his friends that held him back from flying over and surprising the poor boy.
But before he could do anything, a ghost attacked. Kon barely had enough time to grab his friends and dodge when some kind of glowing creature crashed into a building. And while normally he would immediately find somewhere to change, Kon’s first instinct was to check on his soulmate, only to see the two people he assumed to be the boy’s friends but no sign of Danny. Frantically looking around, he didn’t notice the glowing creature behind him (was that a dragon?) but before it could reach him, another glowing figure intercepted the attack. They looked almost ethereal with white hair softly floating in the air and a suit that hugged his muscled form tightly. The figure turned around and gave a sheepish smile towards Kon. “You ok?”
And it felt like for the second time that day, Kon was rendered breathless.
Someone was protecting him.
Someone was protecting him?
Yet it felt…nice. Warm.
Before Kon could gather his thoughts though the battle picked up in earnest. He and his team found cover and changed into their suits. When they came to help, the person Kon assumed to be Phantom looked surprised at their sudden appearance but it wasn’t long before he and everyone else started working together. Unfortunately, actually fighting the ghost seemed to be impossible. Whenever they got close, their hits just passed right through so Phantom quickly regulated them on defense and citizen protection duty. Occasionally getting a hit in when the creature was tangible. Watching Phantom fight was something. Kon could understand why he was elected to join their team. He had this sort of grace and power that couldn’t be explained in words but was clearly from the experience of many battles.
Despite not being able to do much, fighting with Phantom was fun. They seemed to be completely in sync and it wasn’t long before Kon started to enjoy his loud commentary and puns as the two ghosts fought.
However, one particularly hard hit made it so that the dragon’s claws grazed his chest. Leaving three shallow gashes, but Phantom took the close proximity that attack gave him and sucked the creature into…a soup thermos?
But Kon wasn’t focused on that. He was wholly focused on the stinging pain suddenly coming from his chest, underneath his untouched uniform that clearly had not been hit. Kon didn’t know how to process what was happening. Everything suddenly became louder and he vaguely tried to move but it was like his mind became mush as he tried to process what that meant. He managed to get away for a bit and undid his shit, looking down to see three shallow scratches along his chest. Scratches that perfectly mirrored Phantom. In the corner of his eye, Kon saw a head of black hair and witnessed as Danny reunited with his two friends he had been separated from in the chaos. And as Danny twisted to hug them, his shirt flipped up enough to see another identical 3 scratches along the boy's stomach. Perfectly mirroring Phantoms.
It was only later that Kon and his team did some more research on the town and it’s ghosts and learned the unofficial secret that Phantom and Danny were dating. That Phantom had Likely come back from the afterlife to protect the town his soulmate lived in. On the bright side, at least now he could confirm Danny really was his soulmate. And he knew where all those injuries were coming from.
Kon had found his soulmate.
Correction, he found his soumates
And they were already bonded to each other.
…
….so where did that leave him?
There are now two options.
1: Kon decided that he just needs to woo both his soulmates and starts doing so both as Superboy and as Conner. Danny is very confused who these people are (because as far as he knows, he doesn’t have a soulmate, and since Kon doesn’t visibly show injury, there is no sign (unless Danny somehow injures himself in a place that is visible but he’s been trying to avoid that to make everyone worry less.)). Kon goes all out. He gets flowers, chocolates, writes poetry (whether good or not doesn’t matter) starts wooing Phantom in hero form, showing off his strength and skill whenever possible. (And unfortunately, also his dork side when he isn’t paying attention while flying) Asking to hang out, insist on paying for everything. Danny sees this tall Hunk who is paying attention to him and he doesn’t know what to do. And there are TWO OF THEM! (Also, in this version it might be funny if people suspect Danny and Phantom are dating but don’t know for sure and since they are never around each other, people might assume they just don’t know. So Sam, Tucker, and Jazz are all for Danny possibly starting a relationship with Kon along with Kon’s team who are cheering them on and trying to help the poor clone boy who has no experience with romance. Meanwhile literally everyone else in the town who likes Phantom is trying to run interference and get Danny and their hero together.
2: The angst option. Kon decides that the fact that he has two soulmates who are together is likely a result of him being a clone. It’s not that he had someone waiting for him (how could he think someone was waiting their whole life just for him? How stupid was he?!) Kon had just hijacked a different bond. So he tries to stay away. Unfortunately, Tim had talked with Phantom while Kon was out of it so now they have started to team up. This makes avoiding him very difficult as he keeps running into Phantom. Moreover, he runs into Danny because they need him for the ghost hunting equipment. And slowly but surely, Kon falls in love with ‘both’ his soulmates but doesn’t want to get ‘between’ them. And Danny wants to know why one of his new teammates is avoiding him.
#Dpxdc#dcxdp#Kizzer55555 ideas#Super dead soulmates au#Danny x Kon#Danny x Conner#Kon is having an identity crisis and Danny helps but then makes it worse.#At one point Danny might figure out clones and decide to have ‘Phantom’ and ‘Danny’ in the same place. Kon sees this and almost combusts.#Kon’s team are the ultimate wingman’s/wingwoman.#Tim is deep diving into research and planning dates. He has a board covered with red string on how to make this work.#It’s scaring some people.#I don’t know if this is young Justice or teen titans so I was vague while writing it. Choose whichever team you like best!#All I know is that this is the version of Kon with all of Superman’s powers. I want him and Danny to have flying races.#Danny is oblivious.#Kon is in permanent gay panic mode.#Kon gets super protective of both Danny and Phantom.#At some point Phantom comes into contact with blood blossoms so that’s going to be fun. :)#The reason They talk to Danny is because he’s Phantom’s ‘supplier’ for Ghost hunting equipment.#Secret third option: they find Phantom first and bring him to the team and Kon thinks he’s his soulmate after seeing matching injuries and#gets closer to him as a friend but doesn’t know how to breach the subject. Then they go to a ‘supplier’ for Ghost equipment that Phantom#Trusts and meet Danny. And then something happens where they see how ‘Danny’ and ‘Phantom’ are ‘soulmates’.#Then you can deviate to the angst version or wooing version.

I'm very intrigued to hear more about Escape to the country and Wichita Lineman!
oh! Thank you! Escape to the country is my favourite! It's the one I've written the most for. This is my small strange town AU where Stiles leaves collage wondering what the hell he's supposed to be doing with his life. What do you do when you can do anything? What do you do when every day is supposed to be precious. How do you live when you could be dead?
So, he takes a roadtrip and runs head first into Beacon Hills, a deeply strange town in the deep dark forest. He's especially intrigued by the Extremely Attractive hermit who lives in a cabin deep in the woods. Oh and what's with those weird red eyes that seem to be following him around? Cue strange creepy dreams, weird hotels, the wolves are the guardians of the forest, skeletons in trees, oh no there's only one bed, lots of plaid, lots of myths and skulls and hopefully lots of humour.
The Wichita Lineman is the au I can't get out of my head inspired tangentially by the song by Glen Campbell.
It's set in a post apocalyptic universe similar to fallout. It's about Derek who is essentially like a telecoms engineer for hire who goes around setting up radio communications between settlements. It's extremely dangerous but someone's got to do it. He works completely alone and all he has for company is Stiles - the enigmatic radio show host, who talks continuosly but never discloses a thing about himself. He is a legend and a mystery. Nobody knows who he is or even where he is. He just IS.
Derek has lost count of the number of hours he's spent listening to him through his truck radio. Whenever he sets up a new relay, he will tune the station to Stiles. He essentially falls in love with Stiles, listening to him through the radio, longing (secretly) to one day be able to meet him, piecing together tiny gems of information about him over the years.
Stiles, for his part, has of course heard of the extremely heroic 'lineman' who risks everything to get settlements radio communication up and running. He appreciates just how integral that is to the survival of humanity and if he's being honest, he's slightly in love, just in principle, that someone would risk their life to further spread those radio waves.
Inspired by the lyrics:
"And I need you more than I want you. And I want you for all time.
And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line."
#Thank you!!!#I'm wondering if there's a ghost hunting au in my head somewhere too#Because the sterek brain rot is eternal#I don't think I'll ever escape#Thanks so much for the ask Cariad!#More spooky stories incoming!#But for now#Sterek aus#sterek#teen wolf#derek hale#stiles stilinski#Panic writing#Nice things from nice people#Nice things for nice people

ok fuck it au plot dump. incredibly major atwq spoilers & incredibly minor asoue spoilers. long post.
teen ghost hunt au, not to be confused with two ghosts au, another crazily elaborate asoue/atwq au i have. characters are color coded and there are game-like elements. this is an oxenfree adjacent au - there's no time shenanigans in this, nor does it remotely attempt at following the plot beat for beat - but it was v much an inspiration. our absolutely massive cast of characters are:
Lemony (Dark blue)
Kit (Red)
Jacques (Brown)
Beatrice (Green, vibrant)
Olaf (Purple)
Esme (Pink)
Frank (Blue)
Ernest (Yellow)
and, appearing as ghosts:
Dewey (Green, desaturated)
Qwerty (White)
Hangfire (Black)
The Countess (Gray)
vfd does not exist in this au. it's also in semi-modern time, sometime around the 2010s - no pandemic but they have cellphones and rockin fashion. the sugar bowl gen side of the cast are teens, ranging from 13 to 16, and they all attend the same boarding school, Prufrock. they all decide to sneak out one night and head to the abandoned town of Stain'd by the Sea, camping gear in tow, with the intent of spending the weekend there and coming back to campus without anyone noticing their disappearance.
the whole event is planned by olaf, who super believes in ghosts and wants to convince the group. (he specifically wants to talk to the ghost of his mother, but he does not tell them this up front.) while he initially plans to just bring kit, esme, ernest, and beatrice, they keep inviting other people to come with, and eventually olaf relents and allows the quite massive group to come with - but if they get found out, it's every man for himself. the group's opinion on ghosts varies, but most of them sit somewhere in the middle on whether or not ghosts are real.
for the hell of it, here's the ranking from believes the most to most skeptical:
olaf
ernest
frank
jacques
kit
beatrice
esme
(lemony would be asked at some point early in the game where he falls on the issue, and his ranking would be up to player choice within reason)
the gang takes the train, but the train only takes them so far. after that, they follow the train tracks on foot until they reach the town. this is where some of the game-like elements come into play - lemony takes the role of the player character and so different people can be interacted with. this is basically just to have fun with writing different character dynamics and would indicate who favors who in what way. various gags and funny comments abound - for example, bertrand also wanted to come with, but that was apparently the final straw and so he was not allowed to come.
eventually they reach stain'd. because he was born here and organized the event, olaf insists on being the group leader, but everyone's so annoyed by his drama king leadership up to this point that they elect someone else to take over. this would be another choice affected by lemony/the player. once that's decided, the gang splits into three groups: kit and jacques, beatrice olaf and esme, and the denouements. lemony/the player would then get to choose what group they wanted to be a part of. if they chose the group of three, they'd be responsible for putting one of the three in one of the other two groups.
the groups are then tasked with finding different things necessary for the stay, such as a safe place to sleep for the night or a food source in case they run out. this is also to keep them occupied until nightfall, which is when the seance is gonna go down. there's more conversation, character exploration, and backstory here. i have ideas on dialogue trees but i'm not gonna type all that out here.
everyone finds what they need to find and night falls. they all go to the big house, at which point investigation reveals that it is indeed olaf's childhood home. he pulls out a frankly ludicrous amount of ghost communication materials, ranging from a spirit box to a 12-pack of scented candles to an oujia board. there's also a lighter. the lighter will be important. he does a series of activities and characters respond with varying levels of enthusiasm. esme, being the most skeptical of the group, is not engaged while everyone else is at least humoring the shenanigans. on the other side of the spectrum, ernest is incredibly engaged and helps out when a second hand is needed.
the methods do not seem to work, and just as everyone's like "well, we can at least have a big sleepover", something finally clicks, and the ghost appears in front of everyone. while olaf gets to have a sweet moment, the focus is largely on Holy Shit A Real Ghost and the other characters freaking out about it. conversations are had and eventually the gang goes to set up their place of rest for the night without olaf, who has a lot to talk to his mom about.
it's hard for them to go to bed right away - esme, beatrice, and kit have their own little corner where they're rapidly discussing their thoughts on the whole matter, while jacques, frank, and ernest are having their own discussion. lemony can peek into either one and have different dialogue depending on wether or not he previously said he believes in ghosts. the groups' conversations begin to wind down, and eventually they all start saying their goodnights. lemony is the last to fall asleep (minus olaf, who is still talking with his mom in the house).
lemony has a nightmare. he's walking along the train tracks back to school alone. he's not dressed in any of the clothes he brought. as he walks along the tracks, the atmosphere gets darker and more ominous. a dark fog begins to waft in. eventually, lemony stops. there is a body dead on the tracks, the fog seemingly avoiding it, making it clearly visible. then, a black figure wearing a white mask emerges from the fog. a sound like a ragged inhale, a brief glitchy effect, and the nightmare ends.
so lemony wakes up in a cold sweat and sees everyone else up and moving. none of them has slept well, but some obviously slept for 6 hours while others obviously slept for 2. the gang comes together to have a brunch of granola bars and water, and they then figure they can do some good old fashioned urban exploring.
once again this is a group choosing + character talking moment. this au is mostly playing with potential character dynamics, to be honest. and i do have thoughts i just cannot succinctly type them all down at what is now 3:30 am.
to speed things up, after exploring, the gang comes together to share what they saw, take a nap if necessary, and have an early dinner together, before deciding to head back to campus. everything gets packed up and everyone leaves feeling changed by the experience. there's a happy tone as they all leave, and they start playing i spy as they walk next to the tracks. because the sun's starting to go down, a lot of the things people name just end up being the sunset.
however, eventually someone calls out "something black", which is clearly a lump on the tracks a way forwards. as the group proceeds, they begin to get more and more uncomfortable as the lump gets clearer - it's a body on the tracks.
once they realize this, they all go into panic mode, them thinking through first aid and seeing if this is someone slumped over from exertion. there is no blood or visible wounds and his body is completely intact. lemony is rightly freaked during this due to his nightmare, keeping his distance from the body. he hears his heartbeat in his ears more than he hears anyone else.
suddenly, a command snaps through - there's something in his bag they need if they're to help the man. everyone turns to look at lemony, who is clearly close to a panic attack, and the moment it's just lemony facing the body, it begins to do the Freaky Ghost Classic of rigidly snapping itself upright and then hovering a foot off the ground. somehow (wink) frank and ernest notice this and turn around, causing everyone else to look up at the figure. spooky black fog begins to roll in and everyone is in shock watching this guy levitate. wordlessly, he points behind the group.
they all turn and get jumpscared by the fucking train that's now barrelling down the track, a train that very much was not there before. because they had all crowded onto the track to help the figure, they have to dive left or right. there is a timed choice for which way you dive. whichever way you jump, the party has now been split.
as lemony and everyone else roll into the grass, they see the train wooshing by, jet black, with the lights inside windows smearing together into a near-blinding array. when the train has passed, the floating figure is gone, and so are the other half of the group.
part two coming tomorrow, it is 4am and i can physically feel my eyes straining to stay open
the rate at which i can mentally churn out an entire au plot is both a blessing and a curse because i now have a super cool idea that would take me literal weeks to fully write out. and i popped it out in 24 hours. bazinga
#teen ghost hunt au#long post#snicketverse#im not tagging this better cause idk if it'll end up in the main tag or not and i'd rather not have an unfinished thing in there

I've been thinking about writing again bc for the first time in 2 years I have free time again (NOT an exaggeration. School and work and internships and stuff have kept me BUSY)
Anyways. I know I keep making these polls and not delivering but I actually have free time again and I like making these polls not to tease but to see what people want to see/find interesting
Additional info on these:
Ghost:
No quirks. The ghosts do get some abilities but they're not like their quirks at all
The ghosts are teens
I'm excited about this one most and have the most clear path forward on this one
Aizawa is alive in this one and not a ghost. Making him a ghost would throw a huge wrench in the plot as its currently written, but could easily be tweaked now that im thinking about it. i would have to rewrite everything i already have written though
Magic Pirates:
Not everyone is human and there is some angst surrounding this. As well as in general
Shinsou will definitely be here in the later story. Mentor and student focused relationship with the adults
Less clear about the plot and motivations on this one
Werewolf:
Potentially oboro could be there. I'm thinking about it, but it complicates the story so I'm leaning towards no
Simple story and simple motivations, but effective
Eri is in this one and gets adopted
#im going to be writing SOMETHING in-between job hunts and interview prep so I will have some good time for it#im confident about the ghost au getting posted within the year. i have some solid writing for it already#and i will be the first to admit that the ghost au i have posted to my page is not the best. that one i wrote to be a horror story and its#flop tbh. this one has more going on and is far less horror focused and more 'oh god imagine being a teen trapped in hs forever' focused#which imo is a much funnier and more fulfilling plot. the werewolf is the next one im most confident on. would want to redo writing for it#pirate is the one im least confident in mostly bc idk what theyre motivated by yet like why are they on those ships. still figuring it out

Like just single dad space cowboy Lance au, that keeps rotating in my head, absolute bullshit but just know it is inspired by Smokin Joe Rudeboy by Tom Cardy
#It is such a funny au (to me) nothing makes sense#Basically it starts with s2 Shiro survives Zarkon dies but Black Lion is also VERY damaged=>#This leads to the war to be in bit of a standstill for few years=>#Keith still does his whole went with BoM missions thing =>#At some point with more years later there is a major fight that breaks up the team =>#Lance runs away and gets stuck in what is essentially the Mid Western Cowboy theme part of the universe =>#(It is a very big part of the universe btw) =>#He lives a few more years as an outlaw travelling from one yeehaw planet to another yeehaw planet =>#And then meets this very feral 11 year old who is on a hunt to fight her shitty ass dead beat dad=>#Lance who hasnt seen any of his friends or family in years is like 'is anyone gonna adopt this child?' and didnt wait for an answer =>#But yeah this girl is familiar and Hang On!! =>#Yeah so her dead beat dad turns out to be Keith. Now she cld be a clone (makes more sense) or result of a one night stand (funnier) =>#But point is she really wants to fucking fight him and Lance is like 'ok how about you just tell him to fuck off instead?' =>#Also Kuron is there. Lance found him and Kuron was like 'Lance you found me! It has been years dont you remember i am Shiro!!'#And Lance who has been ghosting Shiro for years is like 'no you are not?' clone revealations. Not fun. Anyway the au isnt even about that#It is about Keith's pre teen daughter who wants to kick his ass and Lance who is like please calm down kid and Kuron who is just so confuse#and they are all cowboys#lance mcclain#lance voltron#lance serrano#takashi shirogane#keith kogane#keith voltron#kuron#voltron kuron#voltron#voltron legendary defender#empty thoughts

You should draw Nightmare scared of the smallest noises while in an abandoned building (It would totally be his idea to go there in the first place)
Guys give my partner some love! Her art is amazing!!
I was listening to Runaway by Linkin Park and it gave me an idea for some reason???
So I made this lil au thing where Tbs are teens and like the "bad kids" that sneak out late at night and go to abandoned places (to look for ghosts,,, and do a bunch of dumb shit)
But like XGaster's strict and stupid to the others have to sneak Cross out alot
Which I obviously drew
VVVVVVVVVV
I have another drawing I'm gonna finish later where Cross uses a spirit box and gets spooked
Also Cross and Killer are the only ones who have designs right now, so Horror and Dust look a little plain
(Nm's not there cause he's waiting in the car and didn't wanna deal with the others' idiocy /j)

Continuing my animal shifter/therian au for the military propaganda games with Nik and Price. Nik is a polar bear and Price is a Eurasian brown bear. No explanation needed. (There is lore under the cut)
Nik is #obsessed with Price's fuzzy ears. Nik also has some questionable eating habits, but it's not his fault! Polar bears just... casually hunt humans down and eat them, okay! Is it technically cannibalism if he doesn't chew on other therians? The only features Nik retains as a human are large white streaks in his hair that started appearing in his teens. He's honestly fairly low-key until he's suddenly like 8ft tall and threatening to eat people.
Price's ears are usually a dead giveaway, but they are the only physical features he retains in human form. His eyes are the dead giveaway in his animal form. Well. That, and most bears don't wear hats.

tw: slight suicidal actions (but not really the batfam are wildly clueless to the actual context to danny's bullshit hes not suicidal--in this fic--he's dead get it RIGHT brucie)
Au where Batfam are entirely convinced that the new vigilante in Gotham, danny, has time travel powers because he can vanish away from their senses completely
This becomes a problem however when
Bruce searches for him because wants to save Jason. Danny can save Jason not in the--im a time traveler and i can bring him or you back from or to the past--but in the, I’m a ghost king and have domain over the dead haha
Batfam become really concerned watching Phantom fight because “if he has time travel powers why doesn’t he avoid getting hit every time he can” and get worried phantom is purposefully letting himself get hurt
Danny in all honesty is just vibin the entire time while the batfam is going crazy at every sliver of info they get about danny because like
okay hes a time traveler thats established they got over that
This guy whos somehow been able to stop and rehabilitate rouges (ghosts) in his town is 15??
he may be the kindest most self destructive kid they've ever met like who immediately agrees to help people who were trying to capture and interogate him because he 'thinks we are better than the last billionaire who did this' what the FUCK
Oh yeah and they find out as a bonus in the end that his normal unpowered form he is a teen with black hair and blue eyes (bruce no no dont do it dont--)
---
Bruce is losing his mind
Okay so at the start of this there’s an unknown vigilante (danny) that Batman tends to bump into. Except Batman isn’t sure what he is.
Every time they run into each other Batman can tell there should just be a person beside him but before he gets a glimpse and opens his eyes to empty fresh air.
A vigilante that can vanish before their very eyes?
What do the bats think about this?
They think this vigilante can control time and is doing that to sneak out of their gaze.
Now here’s where the funny part comes in
Bruce goes on a wild hunt to search for the vigilante with a plan. To make them turn back time so that he can save his son.
The problem with this?
Danny is not a time traveler most days–scratch that he's not one at all. He can save his son Jason though, in fact he wants to, it’s just he needs to figure out a way to do this whilst not blowing his cover that he is the goddamn ghost king.
So he pretends that he does have time powers and that he just… uh… needs a minute to figure them out… yeah that!
Cue Batfam getting progressively more worried about Danny because ‘if he could turn back time—why doesn’t he avoid those hits?’
They all kinda think Danny is like purposefully hurting himself so now Danny is forced to eat breakfast with them and sleep at their manor. I mean he’s confused at why they always look so worried about something but he’ll make sure Batman’s son gets home soon! Plus the rich people temporary-living-situation without all the ‘I want to adopt you’ billionaire bullshit is pretty sweet!!
(somewhere in the ghost zone jason is tearing up laughing at the batfam as they struggle to not burst into flames trying to figure out danny-- like for christs sake they think the ghost king is an american doctor who and are trying to get him to spill where his tardis is)

Bi-Yearly Book Catalogue (2024)
Every book I’ve read the past six months and what I thought, told as briefly as I can manage.
One Star Books:
Loveless by Alice Oseman
I understand that this book was helpful for a lot of people. It was the opposite of helpful for me.
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
My gripes with this can be whittled down into: this writer does not understand depression but really, really wants to cure it. Also, if you do decide to give this book a try, please mind the subject material. It really, really isn’t for everyone.
Two Star Books:
N/A
Three Star Books:
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
A simple book about an old man learning to want to live again. Where ‘The Midnight Library’ failed for me, this one succeeded. If you plan to read this one, be mindful of the content warnings. It also isn’t for everyone.
Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowely
It’s about a dog who has cancer. I think that says it all. There were parts of this book I really liked and parts I really didn’t like. It lost me halfway through and I stopped caring about the stakes, which is really upsetting when the stakes are a dog. But the good parts are really, really good. Just be mindful of the premise going into it.
In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune
I liked the character work, loved the world building and on a technical level the writing was well-done. My gripes have to do with the story’s internal contradictions and how the only character traits I can think of for the main character are “asexual” and “inventor,” neither of which are explored properly (emphasis on asexual here). I didn’t like that despite being 21, the main character was narratively treated like a child, often involving his sexuality. I had to google how old he was multiple times because I couldn’t believe he wasn’t in his mid-teens given how he reacted to the story and how the story treated him. Loved the writing on a technical level, though, and I do plan to read more from this author.
Four Star Books:
Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree
A COFFEE shop AU? In MY high fantasy? If you like DnD, low-stakes high-fantasy and fun character work, give this one a read. It’s very cozy.
A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers
It’s a book about a nonbinary tea monk and a robot who lives in the mountains. Slow-paced with good vibes and great world building. I read it in an evening and came away from it feeling warm.
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
Achilles and Patroclus’ relationship breaks my heart again. This was incredibly well-written and appropriately devastating. I just wanted them to be happy.
Countdown to Countdown by Kong Xiao Tong (graphic novel)
I bought a physical copy of this because I’ve always loved the artist’s work and wanted to support, and I enjoyed it a LOT. Beautiful art, fantastic characters. I know not everyone can avoid a physical copy, but the webcomic is available to read for free online and I highly recommend giving it a try.
Our Dining Table by Ori Mita (manga)
Learning to enjoy mealtime with loved ones again after childhood trauma? Y’all. It’s a single-volume manga and it’s well worth your time.
Five Star Books:
Beartown by Fredrik Backman
This was the most devastating book I’ve ever read. If you are interested in reading it: find a list of content warnings first. I went in blind. It is hauntingly real and the author handled the material so, so well. I can’t recommend this book without that caveat. But it’s one of the best-written books I’ve read.
The Saturday Night Ghost Club by Craig Davidson
This book is about a man looking back on his life as a boy - the friends he made and the misadventurous ghost-hunts his uncle dragged them into. It’s just the right amount of campy with fun characters and a brilliant use of prose. If you’re a less experienced reader and want a book that is easily digestible while also being extraordinarily well-written, I’d recommend this book in a heartbeat, and it’s every bit as entertaining for more advanced readers.
What you are looking for is in the library by Aoyama Michiko
Five stories about five people, all in different stages of life, and their unique experiences with the same librarian and the same library. Individually, each character in each story has their unsatisfying lives changed in an unexpectedly simple way, thanks to the library. There’s nothing wild about this book, but it is wildly impactful. The library is for everyone!
Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson
Heroine travels the treacherous seas to save the man she loves. It’s a book about perspectives and joy and making unlikely friends, breaking curses through clever means and never, ever giving up. It has all the whimsy of a classic fairytale, yet not once could I predict how it was going to end. It’s fast-paced and hard to put down. The world is intriguing and the characters are wonderful.
This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
This book is utterly mind-bending and I loved it. Two time-travelers chase each other through reality on opposing sides of the Time War and gradually fall in love. It’s great. The biggest complaint I see leveled at this book comes from less experienced readers who struggle to follow the narrative - and I do agree, if you’re just getting into reading for fun this might be a book to save for later. But don’t let me stop you. I loved this book.
Conclusion:
Reading is great. Libraries are your friend. I always love book recommendations and I’m on GoodReads as BeyondTheClouds777, predictably. If any of y’all take a stab at these books (or have taken stabs in the past), I’d love to hear your thoughts! I’m back in my bookworm era and thriving.

Question about the three split bill au (the one where bill splits himself up from baby boy, troubled teen and ghost of himself)
Any thoughts about what ghost of himself bill looks like? Since we actually haven’t seen much art of him besides the first diagram when bill splits into his three components of himself. Is that bill more akin to how bill was during the aftermath of the Euclidean massacre, or completely reserved and hiding away somewhere, cause I’m assuming ghost bill is hiding in gravity falls’s forest, and thus doesn’t have the memories of having the psychological cushioning of having the dead/barely alive relatives of the sub-species of Euclidean’s he kidnapped from other realms of his home dimension around him to remind himself he’s not alone, and that he DIDN’T destroy his entire dimension. So I imagine he’s between on the brink of a mental breakdown and completely numb to the world around him.
Sorry, I’m just really intrigued about this au
(I'm gonna link this post and this post for easy reference since I don't have a tag for this idea yet lmfao)
I wouldn't call it an au with THREE bills, because there's not three of them total. Hence the "and so on" in the picture where I listed them. I just only listed the first three, because 1) that's where we stop getting detailed info on Bill's history and we don't know much about what specific traumas he encountered during the trillion years between the massacre and now, and 2) all the Bills after that point pretty much look like current Bill so there was no point in drawing them lmfao.
I also wouldn't call that specific one "ghost Bill," I'd just call him "post-Euclidean massacre Bill." Yes, he's an energy being by that point, but if you call him a "ghost" you're gonna think of him like... y'know... a ghost. He's no more ghostly post-massacre than he is every time we see him in the show.
One of two things happens when all the extra Bills get snuck out of Theraprism:
they all get tossed out through the same exit and land in the same place, meaning they just keep showing up one at a time at the Mystery Shack; or
they each get dumped in a different place depending on what's the most convenient way to sneak them out at the moment, meaning they're all over the multiverse and trying to find each other/the Pines are going on a scavenger hunt trying to locate them all.
I don't know which it is because I don't have a story, I have an idea, so any actual plot points are up in the air and subject to change based on vibes.
So, either post-massacre Bill's traumatized ass immediately ends up on the shack's front step just like the others; or, he's lost wandering in space somewhere, and they've got to hunt him down to drag his traumatized ass to the shack.
Psychologically, he comes into existence in the same mental state he was in 5 minutes after the massacre: mostly numb with intermittent bursts of grief-fueled murderous rage. His memories actually extend to a few months or maybe even years after the massacre, because he didn't mentally change much in that time. But even though he has those memories, he FEELS like the massacre happened Right Now.
The headcanon that Bill kidnapped a bunch of alien shapes after the massacre is irrelevant to this AU; that headcanon belongs to a different story. Maybe it did happen off-screen in this one, it doesn't matter, we're not going there. In this story, he destroyed his universe and got his speck, that's what matters.
He looks the way I drew him: almost like current-day canon Bill but a little smaller/rounder, blue bow, no hat. Hopefully he washes the blood off.
#(technically all their asses are traumatized. but post massacre he's the most VISIBLY traumatized. poor shellshocked sonova.)#rainbow beanie#ask#about my writing

Lockwood & Co Vampire AU
you guessed it: the Problem is vampires instead of ghosts
Lockwood's parents were turned while overseas (staked by Barnes, Lockwood has mixed feelings towards him because of this)
his sister was killed by a vampire
the rest is the same, he sets up his own vampire hunting agency, recruits George and Lucy
George is still researching the Problem's origin
he comes from a whole family of vampire hunters, but he's the only one who believes there has to be a cure
Lucy lost her whole team after they were ambushed by a coven
she's a Dhampir (child of a human and a vampire), making her both really good at vampire hunting and immune to turning
her father was staked soon after she was born and her mother + rest of the town treated her badly because of him
Norrie was the first to see her as a real person, instead of some monster
the Skull is just a vampire trapped in bat form that Lucy keeps in a jar with holes punched in the top
children and teens are significantly less likely to turn than adults, hence all the young vampire hunters
Kipps was turned on a job a year ago, but has successfully kept it a secret until Lockwood & Co finds out
Lucy convinces them not to report or stake him, since he's not violent and somehow manages his condition
they recruit him instead, partly so George can experiment on him
#I don't have the energy to write this into a fic#so here you go#holly's just about the same#sorry holly#lockwood & co#lockwood and co#anthony lockwood#lucy carlyle#george karim#locklyle#george cubbins#vampire au#lockwood and co au

been thinking about this one headcannon lately where because of whatever cult shit is being done to travis while he's growing up, he comes to be able to see and sense ghosts/demons/etc pretty naturally as he gets older, particularly in his late teens/early adulthood is when his father really starts to nurture that gift.
being fairly isolated because nobody likes him and having the ability to see dead people means that travis knows a number of nockfell's dead, and a lot of them don't like him either partly due to him being an asshole, but also because he's part of the cult, technically, and a lot of them know that. many of them were victims of the cult themselves.
it's fun to imagine the kinds of scenarios that could come about with this headcannon, like travis eventually joining in on some of the group's ghost-hunting activities because he has a much easier time finding them than they do. unlike the sally face gang, though, he's terrified of most of the ghosts and hates being around them, at least at first. he probably learns to embrace it as time goes on, though.
maybe i'll make some kind of oneshot or AU about it at some point.
