Oh good lord there’s a LIST. The first one that immediately comes to mind is the word ‘pebbled’ used to describe hardened nips. -_- I also really don’t care for ‘roar’ as a speech tag unless we’re talking about a literal animal-type sound. Distaste x2 if it’s in a sex scene.

ive noticed people seem to struggle with understanding how “strilonde bits” work. they think that irony is purely about something being shitty in a meaningless, one layer joke.

do you think dirks room is filled with puppet memes because he actually hates puppets? do you really think rose lalonde purchased squiddles merch to wear and then hot-topic-ified it because she hates the squiddles? do you think dave wore the sunglasses john bought him every single day for the Ironies because he actually thought they were shitty and dumb??

the homestuck writers themselves really thought rose would name her own daughter “yiffy”. because oh haha isn’t that a shitty and funny name to saddle a child with. no! that’s not how their brand of irony works!

rose lalonde would name her child something overly grandiose but not technically horrible like “coraline constance jones laika lalonde harley”, then wink and nudge at everyone about how Sophisticated the name was; as if to say LOOK how silly it is for parents to be fancy about that shit.

but in reality rose managed to pull the book coraline off the shelf during one of her mother’s worse lapses at age 9 and read it eighteen times in one night relating to the main character so hard she cried. and she chose that name for her daughter partially because it’s near and dear to her heart, but also because she hopes her daughter never has to feel as neglected as rose did as a child.

like… i know the extremely painful mischaracterization in hs2 has been beaten into the ground by fans by now, but the idea it purports that rose lalonde is straight up mean and uncaring, especially towards her own child, still leaves an incredibly bitter taste in my mouth all these years later.

Kusuo isn’t easily scared.

there are very few things that actually do scare him, considering he can sense everything coming from a mile away

But shows and books are an exception (given he doesn’t stare at the pages to see through the book-)

he’s not normally into horror but your manga is actually very interesting to him!

We are fanfiction writers, of course:

We have a brain that when we are doing the most mundane thing (like taking a shower), it will either resurrect a WIP from like 6 years ago by continuing our favorite scene or create a new WIP for us to obsess over in the next 24 hours.

We want to write all of our WIPs - the problem is that it involves the action of writing

We use a thesaurus whenever we write because we need to find more words we never knew existed just to make that one fancy-speaking character sound legit

We have little bits of knowledge that no one would ever need or want to have because we started writing/thinking about a WIP that requires specific information we can only get through research

We have no motivation to write anything during the day, only for said motivation to hit us in between 12am to 3am in the morning

We’re fanfiction writers, of course:

We’re going to use song lyrics as titles.

We’re going to check for comments 30 seconds after we post something.

We’re going to have more WIPs than days of the week.

We’re going to use any excuse to post snippets.

We’re going to use ask box games to procrastinate.

We’re going to hype up our writer friends.

We’re going to scream, cry and throw up reading our friends’ work.
