Petras had said his goodbyes to his beloved whore, and finished his duties as a Chaplain for his Crusade. Arnault and Roland are busy helping their Bonded with other things.

He's going to avoid the fucking abominations in the Loyalist base- those bastards are under the protection of those most irritating brothers of his.

But, he had told his beloved that he was going to go hunting in the nearby forest- having ensure that the got the proper permits, to ensure that him and his human wouldn't run afoul with local human laws, and also was given a thoroughly dull lecture by a droning Ultramarine.

While sparring with Roland and Arnault, as well as his brothers in his Crusade helped his blood sing, he had felt an itch develop, that had been building and building and something had whispered in his head.

A longing, a craving, being with his Bonded, meeting her, getting to know her, had calmed and quieted that itch. It had been several months since he's been able to have a proper hunt.

With neither the Emperor's Champion, or Roland breathing down his neck and watching his every move, for a moment he slips into the forest to stalk and hunt.

He'll bring back an animal to butcher and cook, and feed to for himself and his beloved, as well as the left over to his Crusade to consume. He's hoping for a different kind of prey to be found.

Petras doesn't realize the way his eyes light up in sadistic glee and feels the anticipatory shiver as his vox bead crackles to life and he hears a call for aid- a wounded brother in need.

He answers the vox call- and then subsequently ensures that no one else will be able to take or hear the call. To make sure that the potential Prey cann't call out for help, his vox channel jammed.

He approaches - he recognizes the partially broken form of Castiel, a Tech Marine Abomination, one of the Primaris. Petras grins to himself. Roland and Arnault don't know about this Primaris Abomination, and therefor it isn't under their protection.

"Castiel of The Black Templars," Petras calls out.

The form twitches and flinches a little as the garbled voice crackles out- recognizing him. Petras had given him those wounds after all the first time.

"I am thankful to the God Emperor for this blessing," Petras continues as he unsheathes his chainsword and activates it. "Stay still and die, and your blood shall nourish Holy Ancient Terra. Abomination."

"No- you- leave!" Castiel manages to garble out.

Petras had mostly destroyed his vocal chords when he'd first killed Castiel, back in M42. Castiel does try to escape him, but his broken legs are useless.

It's almost pathetic to see the have broken remains of this abomination of flesh and metal writhe and try to defend itself as he kills it. Petras, just before finishing to kill Castiel makes sure that Castiel can't send any message out to others.

Or try to send a 'upon my death, this message gets sent to X' person. He doesn't want anyone to realize what he's doing. Not because he's ashamed, far from it, but he doesn't want... certain abominations potentially going after his Bonded.

Something funny about Warhammer 40k is that it is that when it comes to custom Space Marine chapters, it's one of the few fandoms where saying "my OCs are related to the most important characters in the setting" will see zero negative pushback because it's completely expected

How can you make Cawl "better" Say another techpriest does some wacky stuff that changed the lore. How woudl you write it? sorry if i wrote it mean

If they absolutely had to have him make his primaris marines and his automatic plasma weapons and his funny AI, fine. GW wants to sell minis and those things alone place him around the intelligence level of someone like Amar fucking Astarte. That is a huge compliment. That is insanely impressive and still actively undoes like half the Imperium's tech shortcomings via a series of illogically "secret" tech advancements.

What they shouldn't have done. What they couldn't help but do, right, is have the overlong slab of plot devices show off how smart he is by diminishing other factions. Why is he able to reverse-engineer the Pharos device? Why should he know where all the blackstone is? Why should he know how to jailbreak scarabs and modify engrams, one of the single most advanced pieces of tech in the entire fucking setting?

If GW must have someone's early-era ff.net OC clogging up the setting, he would be massively improved by actively showing that he doesn't understand xenos technology, and that he realises his lack of comprehension is a frustration and a problem that cannot be brute forced. That he must further commit heresy by engaging in diplomacy with them, and he's not good at it. Give him a shred of depth. Make him a character. As it stands, he is the narrative equivalent of a person whose entire personality trait is "I need everyone to know I am smart and they are not", except he's being constantly rewarded for it.

Fabius Bile is a thousand times better than Cawl because he's limited, despite his intellect. His reincarnation process is endlessly flawed. He's only as good as he is because he had to go and learn from the Drukhari, who he still acknowledges are smarter than him. He has to fight for quality resources, for gene-seed, for access to materials, for his authority. He has to bargain and trade. He has to do things involving Eldar without understanding them, to his aggravation and intrigue. His brilliance at cloning keeps biting him in the ass. He's interesting because of that constant challenge.

Bonus Pressure OC, Eryl Stellamaris Prescott! Lore and shit under the cut

She was a marine biologist interning with Urbanshade. She was moved to the Blacksite to conduct more research on the effects of the experiments and then hired, though in her contract to be hired it included a "medical study". She assumed it was related to the pressure when she couldn't get answers and relented. Now she's a sea monster mixed with leafy sea dragon, great seahorse, oceanic white-tip shark, lionfish and firefly squid DNA. Due to her size, resilience and prehensile tail she's been forced to become a maintenence tech at the site. Even after its lockdown and fall into disrepair she does her job nearly desperately, knowing she can't ever go back.

She dislikes Wall Dwellers because they mess up her walls, she doesn't mind the Good People but doesn't like that they mess with the doors and she has to fix them, she's neutral with Sebastian but they're both on shaky ground and try not to interact because she worked for Urbanshade and he's hard to read whether or not his sass is mean or teasing. She loves the Eyefestation though, and it often hangs around her when she does outside repairs, making sure she doesn't drift too far away in the currents if there's no debris to grab. She doesn't really mind the anglers, but Pandemonium and the Searchlights are her close seconds to favorites right behind Eyefestation. She hates the Trenchbleeders because she used to have to fix them constantly, but she hates them for the work and them killing Searchlights, not just because they exist.

Due to her DNA mix ahes bioluminescent and swims closer to a sea snake or shark. If she was in game she'd be a rare occurrence, close to the same rate as regular pandemonium, appearing in rooms with glitching doors or landslides above water (less than a quarter of the time) or hallways with the missing walls underwater. Her only dialogues would be to herself about how she doesn't get paid enough- or at all- for this or how she doesn't get it. During the Ridge she's just as rare, with a 1/100 chance to appear. She works like an Angler, on a node system, and just rushes through. The warning dialog is more mumbles about how this will be too much to fix or why she didn't kill the player earlier to avoid this mess. She's about 13'5 when standing (compared to a 5'2 Little Fucker for reference) but closer to 25'8 when fully stretched out. Due to her tail being formed with two parts seahorse DNA its stronger and able to hold her upright despite being relatively short compared to her full length.

Niseag-Arts’ AdMech oc Artemis is next in this bout of obsession and they peak my interest in the lore department :0! Can never have too many little Admechs obsessed with the strength kf the Omnissiah and I love their concepts of control of tech
