like all of xiao's teapot lines are so domestic 😭😭

okay so here are a few I have:

1. xiao and lumine always make sure to look for and greet the other first thing when they enter the teapot

2. lumine is used to xiao coming home late at night after fighting and stuff so when he climbs into bed (they sleep in one bed bc they both love cuddling each other) lumine instinctively reaches for him even in her sleep and xiao finds it so endearing

3. they share a room and bed like the disgustingly married couple they are and their room looks empty at first glance but when you take a closer look you notice all the little gifts they've given each other lying around (the crystalflies, starconch, qingxin, etc.)

4. xiao's side of the bed is always neat because he doesn't sleep often and when he does, he always tidies up. meanwhile lumine's is always a tad bit messy. it's very obvious which side is who's (lumine sleeps on the right, xiao on the left)

5. they have a bunch of dogs because lumine couldn't resist them every time chubby visited so they both frequently pop in to check on them and take them on walks (the puppies are definitely their children)

6. kageromarou is an outside guard dog and both xiao and lumine love training with him and giving him pats for doing so well

7. i'm tired of writing so im gonna end it here w my last one: both xiao and lumine refer to the teapot as "home" (both of them yell "i'm home!" whenever they enter the house)

kunikuzushi accidentally walking in on you crying about something that made you terribly upset and emotional.

kunikuzushi being caught off guard and paralyze on his spot, especially that he doesn't have enough experiences what to do if someone is crying, let alone someone whom he had love and care for so much.

kunikuzushi taking slow but careful steps towards where you are, and kneeling right in front of you as you tried and scramble to explain to him that everything is fine.

kunikuzushi shaking off his head, dismissing that you don't have to put up a front for him and saying it in the most gentlest way he can do, because he knows that you're really not okay.

kunikuzushi gently peeling off the hands that you used to cover your face that is painted with wet and fresh tears.

kunikuzushi can't help but feel something painful snap inside of him as he took a look at you, as the longer he does it, he could feel his world slowly crashing and a bitter feeling continues to rise and bloom from his chest.

kunikuzushi hesitantly raising his hand and wiping your tears with his thumb, before placing long peck on your forehead.

kunikuzushi engulfing you in a protective hug, as he lets you sob whatever is that you want to let out at the moment, rocking you slowly in his arms and interwining his hands with yours.

kunikuzushi letting you sleep on him, with your hands still interwined, he rubs your thumb in the most comforting way he can before placing a chaste kiss on it.

Neuvi headcanons

MY BBGRL,,, MY LIL CUTIE MANS WHO I ADORE,,,, i love him so much he's so fuCKIng CUTE dude, lil dragon mans sksmefkhjrshefkj. i swear i'm a normal individual w/ these characters

list of current h/c's: - i feel like he's socially anxious?? like ok, listen, he's GREAT w/ any formal situation, but THE MOMENT it gets casual he PANICs on the inside bc he's like 'wait what's the right and wrong thing to say'. - following that, i feel like when he's in a casual conversation w/ ppl and starts getting panicked, i feel like he's learned to tap his cane twice on the ground to signal to any of his closer companions that he's freaking out. like a "get me out of this situation please" type deal. - this ties into my belief that he's got anxiety regarding smaller scale things. like if he makes a small mistake on something or breaks an object, he feels SO BAD and panics as he tries to figure out how to fix it.

- knowing this, i feel like he feels a bunch of emotions, he just doesn't know how to like,,, put them into words? read below - a yearning for learning,,,, actively seeks out how to label his emotions, but how does one define their feelings? Emotions are not equated to logic, and yet they're a part of human experience, so what is the method to label that which is so intangible yet so real? he doesn't know yet, but he's figuring it out and i'm so proud of him :)c - overprotective in his own way. like he's been putting a lot of stuff on his shoulders so ofc that includes him being sensitive towards people he cares about being harmed. - prideful! he doesn't think he's prideful, he just is Proud Of Things, but tbh i get a bit of a "dragon pride" vibe from him. it's silly goofy and rears up the most around certain Archons. - GOOD DAD. NEUVI IS SUCH A GOOD DAD. IF A MELUSINE COMES UP TO HIM TO TALK ABT A THING, HE IS THE MOST ATTENTIVE LISTENER. Neuvi wants to be closer to people; he really likes humanity, and he wants to reach out to people. but he's afraid, bc if they ever err away from the side of justice, they may end up in his court. no matter what happens, then, is him sentencing them not a form of betrayal? neuvi ponders this a lot - MOVING AWAY FROM SAD THINGS: y'all i'll be SO real, ppl are so used to Neuvillette being in Fontaine that, when he's Outside of Fontaine, unless they Know Him on a personal level, no one recognizes that he's the Iudex of Fontaine. like not even actual Fontainians register it, bc, like, why would the literal Iudex Leave his Natural Habitat of the Court of Fontaine??? - side note, average ppl are intimidated by him. like most ppl look at him and go 'if i approach him, i will be arrested for war crimes bc CLEARLY he is a PRINCE' (which is the best and funniest shit) - 'unrelated'; Neuvi doesn't talk to a lot of ppl outside of his closer friend group, i think u can understand why - such a hard worker,,, honestly probably overworks himself and doesn't even realize it. - WHICH LEADS ME TO HIS HOBBIES HEHEHHEHEHEHE - ARTIST,,, you CANNOT sit there, after Lantern Rite, and TELL ME that HE DOES NOT start looking into the arts. THIS MAN would ABSOLUTELY get into painting and poetry and shit. he likes watercolors and he ADORES POTTERY (THAT FUCKING LADLE??? I CRIED OVER IT IN MY TEAPOT FOR 30 MINUTES HELP) - loves books and stories. like seriously they're kinda actually really fun for him to read bc he sits and breaks down what is and isn't accurate abt them (crime/detective books) and he gets invested in romance books (he's CURIOUS okay??) - bc he reads Fontainian romance books, any and every romantic gesture is like,,, awkwardly sappy? like he'll do small scale things bc he's a lil nervous baby, but it's THE SAPPIEST of the sappy. - fashion lover. Listen, this man could arguably wear whatever he wants and he chose to wear THAT???? he's a fashion lover / makeup master, and i will die on this hill. - he would laugh at Cyno's jokes, but only AFTER Cyno explains them.

immediately heart warmed over kaveh's explanation of a home and the sheer recognition he has on what makes something a home to him. like, the traveller literally asks him if he wants the teapot / that he'd be one to make better living space out of it, to which he can only remind them that it wouldn't be the same case for him as it is for them.

kaveh's not dreamed of living in a place like the one's he's built for ages, not even when he created the palace of alcazarzaray for dori, even though it was his crowning achievement, because in the end kaveh's always found himself alone. while it stung to sell his childhood home, and still stings to see it when he passes, kaveh has long recognised that it is no longer his home and, once he had moved out and hadn't found another place to live, between staying out on building sites of places he was building,

kavehs home for a good year or so remained lambads. lambad himself probably took kaveh under his wing, but also the people there were the reason kaveh found it so easy to come back again and again as a familiar sort of comfort - to the level in which he finds himself consistently letting go of his burdens and woes. ( it's, ironically, the place he also conducts a lot of his business at now, because he knows the people there look out for him as much as he looks out for them. they'd never let him leave the premises without someone they knew was safe. )

after moving in with alhaitham, part of kaveh always insists that it's not his home ( mainly out of the fear that one day, alhaitham will get tired and kick him out despite everything he insists otherwise ) but it's long past the point where kaveh views the house as one. both his internal dialogue and personal handwritten letters have him slipping up on this fact, but it's not something he's truly ready to let go easily. whatever happens between the two of them, kaveh has embodied a lot of his touch into this home, but at the same time manages to ensure alhaithams touch shines through, too. and while they bicker, fight, and aggravate one another to no degree, it's clear that the moments like that make it a home, too.

home never had to be perfect for kaveh because he's convinced himself that he wouldn't deserve such a feat. but he still manages to contradict himself by giving something beautiful here, too.

ps: also the way he has his hands on his hips when explaining himself as if ready to really defends his views to the way they drop the moment he expresses his sympathy to the traveller for their situation (aka clearly missing his family too.) + the way he even puts his hand on his heart when they ask if they can commission him once it's all over and he promises to do it for free ... kaveh ur heart is too pure. too kind.

• Shiryu - Autistic Headcanons

He's a genuinely caring and nice person but can lack empathy due to some lack of social conventions understanding (like when he kept on talking about killing Ikki without considering Shun could get hurt)

He's smart, above average smart, but he sometimes seem a bit mindless due to this lack of understanding of others and acts a bit out of step

You know that kid who kept being annoying and saying what's on his mind, correcting the adults when they were wrong and all ? Yeah that was him, "I, I think I know more about American Girl Dolls than you do" type of vibe. His training with Dohko teached him to control this kind of things, but he still sometimes says the wildest stuff without even realizing it

He has a lot of sensory issues, is a bit difficult with food textures, clothing textures (you see it coming, yes, I hc him getting half naked 24/7 because of his sensory issues), and loud noises, he probably sleeps with earbuds on

He's hyperverbal but it mostly shows when you start to talk about something he enjoys a lot ! He remembers every Dohko story and loves to tell them to others

He tends to take everything 1st degree unless stated

He's a little clumsy, not something too bad, but he let things slip out of his hands and hit himself on the walls by accident more than the average person (i mean his height does NOT help him)

Genshin Impact AU: Teapot Tinies (Masterpost)

I got this idea from @weirdsht post, I’ve always enjoyed miniatures, and tiny stuff so this idea/headcanon really got my brain working. The brain rot is contagious bby! So I took weirdsht’s idea and made an AU from it (I really hope that’s okay!)

This Au is set in modern times (of course), The Genshin Impact Characters are just that Characters, not IRL beings just characters. I just wanted to get that out of the way first. Genshin Impact is a little bit more popular in this AU than in our timeline, but only popular in the sense that Mihoyo has enough clout and money to spent to time to work on a completely new experience that different from their usual bag of MMO/video games. In This AU, Mihoyo Labs is working on a project know as the “Teapot Project” or “Project: Teapot”, a project where the Genshin Impact Characters come to life in fun-size form, and they have chosen reader to be a beta tester for their project and have them document their experience as a Tea holder.

How to Get A Teapot

In the story I’m currently writing (yes, I’ve already started writing on fic based on this ONE POST, that’s how bad the brain rot is, but in the BEST way possible) there is no set way one can get a teapot. In the story and AU Reader is the only person who has access to the Teapot Project , aside from Mihoyo Labs. The way it happens is pretty random, but I do imply that Reader likes Genshin SO MUCH and is SO ACTIVE in the community that they seem like the prefect person for the job (also the golden rule of main character enegry,lol).

After accepting the offer in the initial email, they are giving another email featuring a link that sends them to a page fashioned like a web event page, the reader is prompt to pick a tea, and all the teas are based on genshin characters, after the pick their choice, the teapot app is automatically downloaded to their phone. A few days later a package will arrived with a teapot, a teabag, doll house shelf and a few mini accessories.

Teapot Project

After seeing how popular the Hangout Events are among the Genshin fanbase, seeing the amount of fan-fiction, and other fan-based material, Mihoyo got the idea that they could take Hangout Events to the next level, but bring everyone’s fave characters into the real-world in fun size form.

Tea Holder

The Tea holder is what the reader is referred to by Mihoyo in the Teapot App and through E-mails for privacy reason.

Teas

Teas are codenames for the Genshin characters each character’s tea name are their constellation names (alternatively Tea Minis, or Minis for short, this name is coined by the tea holder themslves )

Ex. Lisa’s Tea codename would be Tempus Fugit

Teapots

Teapots are the containers that hold well tea, much like a regular tea container but slightly bigger. The tea holder is shipped a package, once they accept Mihoyo’s offer. In the package are the teapot, the tea (in tea bag form) and accessories.

The Teapots are also region based; so, the Inazuma characters can only be steeped in the Inzuma themed teapot. When the tea holder gets a new mini from different region they get the region’s teapot, free of charge.

Furniture, clothes, weapons, and acessories

When the tea holder is shipped the package, it comes with all the furniture and accessories the tea mini will need. The package also comes with one doll house style shelf for the mini(s) to live. The furniture is like Rement miniature furniture by just with a Genshin Impact theme. It comes with a basic bedroom set, and other amenities or reactional stuff the tea holder will want their mini to have will have to come out of their own pocket or be made by themselves.

So if you want to spoil your mini by making them their own arcade area, than you can if you have the money and or skills to make one.

Teapot App

The Teapot App is the app that appears on the tea holder’s phone after they join the teapot project. On the phone, it just looks like app that about making tea or teapots in general, it doesn’t like any app anybody who might steal or look at the tea holder’s phone would have any interest in looking farther into. The icon for the teapot app is the Serenitea Pot.

The app can be used to check Tea holder’s mini(s) vitals, to see if they’re sick or hungry, in a bad mood, etc. It has note-taking/journal section for Tea holder to use to document their experinces as a tea holder, these notes/entries are only seen by Mihoyo Labs, and the tea holder. The teapot has a section for cloud storage where all media related to the minis is held; pictures, videos, and such are store here automically if the phone detects there’s mini in the photo/video. The tea holder can’t share this files on any soicals or any of genshin related from in fear of leaks, if a leak is found The tea holder will have their minis taken away and their Mihoyo account banned. There’s a section to the app for getting another mini, The tea holder doesnt have to pay for it, but they will have to wait about a month in between, so the other mini(s) can get used to the newbie mini, and so the teaholder doesn’t get overwhelmed.

Teas/mini(s)

How a mini comes to be

When the Tea holder gets a their selected teapot (or a new teapot for the first time) it comes with a tea bag with the design of the selected characters constellation (at first I said it was a lotus, but just a reagular tea bag makes more sense and is equally aesthetically pleasing). Through the teapot app, the Tea holder is instrcuted to make the mini tea as if they were making any other tea, the only thing those is that this tea has steep overnight and its also instructed that the teapot be place some where the outside light can hit it (i.e a windowsill or a counter near a window) . Once the sun comes up the teapot glows and the new mini steps out.

The Mini(s) are about the same sizes as nendoroid, and look like one too.

The Mini(s) act exactly like their characters in genshin, and have the same relationships in the game as they do being a mini. They enjoy the same activities (even if those activities have to be down sizes) and they will be pull towards the similar/modern versions of their activites/hobbies’s equal.

The mini keep all of their skills from genshin, for example if the tea holder gets a working mini oven, Xiangling will be attracted to cooking with it, but she has enough cooking skills where can even help the tea holder with their cooking skills, too.

The mini(s) dont really need much maintaining for the most part, they act like shemjis or animal crossing characters where they will just wonder off on their own activites and adventures, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be handful or randomly start fights with other another.

Mini(s) speak in their own mini language, its kind of like simlish, but even if the Tea holder doesn’t understand exactly what their mini(s) is/are saying, they very expressive beings and usually have their expression on their face or its just obvious by vibes.

The Teaholder can give the mini(s) gifts to increase their relationship with a mini, when a mini likes or wants something (and they can’t get themsleves) they’ll look at it longingly or straight up point to it fantically (based on their personality).

If a mini feels ignored or is constantly starting fights with other minis without a resolve, than a mini might run away (this is mostly based on the mini’s personality, if they like being alone than they’ll just stay).

The mini(s) can get around on their own by using their guilders or just climbing stuff, its the one reason why the doll house shelf doesn’t have stairs, minis just climb stuff.

You can and are allowed to take the mini(s) outside and public areas, when a mini is spotted by (another) an adult they have a instinctive ablity to strike a pose or hide in a Teaholders pocket/bookbag or purse a post as long as they see the adult before the adult sees them. If a child sees a mini in action that’s fine because one could brush it off as a child’s over active imagination if they told another person, and their on video or photographically evidence .

The Secret

In Theory one could still share images and video to the public about their minis, if they’re able to hack the teapot app, but the Tea holder is still in danger of getting in trouble. IF they can make up a good excuse to what is being show or what an outsider NOT apart of the project is seeing, than the holder is in the clear. IF they can then bad ending. Under this theory, the holder could share the secret with someone they really really trust not spill the tea (heh…heh…see what I did there,AYEE).

This Au has a similar vibe to “How To Keep A Mummy” anime, The Littles, a little bit of Arrietty and “If you give a mouse a cookie”, A Little Snow Fairy Sugar anime, and other books in “If you give a (animal) a (food)” series of kids’ books.

This Au is meant to be chill, fun, and cute; mostly a fluffy AU, but giving that the mini(s) can run away if ignore, angst could be added

Okay but consider; The Sons of Elrond reminding people of the Sons of Feanor.

Like, in Middle-Earth (ME) it wasn’t a big deal that E&E followed their dad around because it was just accepted as Harmless Peredhel Oddness.

But in Valinor, all these relatives keep visiting The House of Elrond because he’s the baby of every Finwion branch in existence. So these Finweans come around and just see Elrond’s sons somewhat hovering around him or staying in the general vicinity. Furthermore, Elrond isn’t just their dad, he’s also their lord-father and to Elrohir & Elladan, Elrond’s authority is above all else. Anyone, else.

Elrond casually tells his sons to do something simple and they do it without protest because it’s just getting a teapot or something, they may whine or groan like elflings for fun, but they get the teapot without question. That’s just how that relationship is. When the twins protest it’s loud and rare, and usually they just wanna follow their family members around (Arwen, Estel, Elrond, Celebrian).

But it’s just Elrond and Celebrian in Valinor, with Glorfindal, Lindir, and Erestor settling their own business elsewhere for a bit.

So these Finweans just see The Sons of Elrond (which they are canonically called) following their father around loyally, and mostly down to do anything for him (they swore an oath against all orcs for their mom, c’mon), and these Finweans start getting flashbacks to the Sons of Feanor in their youth.

The average Middle-Earth elf just sees the very close Peredhel Fam being a close family. The average Valinorean elf looks at the twins following Elrond around like ducklings and starts seeing ghosts.

It’s worse if Elrond is Feanorian, but even without that headcanon, it’s an uncanny likeness and it disturbs the Finweans that visit The House of Elrond.

this draw came out so much better than i thought, reiji is so fun to draw i love him so much!!!

his looks and selfcare

for start, reiji, unlike shu, do enjoy taking care of his skin and hair, at the begining of reiji's teen years, some acne began to pop out, and could'nt stand the fact that shu did not have any acne, not even once, so he started to take care of it, he often buys expensive lotion, soaps, and other skin creams, he totally watch tutorials on how to clean his skin properly, and always tries new suncreens on the market.

and i think that reiji does also buys expensive shampoo's and conditioner, he need it for his dry hair, so he totally buys profesional stuff. he prefers probably scents like jazmin, wooderish, also honey... even maybe lavanda.

and bc he cares a lot for his appearance, he showers very often, at least his body, reiji washes his hair like four times a week. and a little detail is that when he wash his hair, reiji uses hot water, but when he showers only his body, reiji uses cold water.

and to keep himself good looking reiji excersive sometimes, like two times a week and its intense, no one really notice bc he does it in his room.

and when it come to clothes, reiji does enjoy fancy clothes, i like to think reiji go through a face where he was looking for his real aesthtetic, he tried vintage, victorian stuff and in some point he tried the bad boy aesthetic, he find it a little too much casual for him, until he reached a more refinated, fancy but not too flashy style. even so he loves the turtle neck sweaters.

i think reiji is very aware of how handsome he is, his face is similar to his fathers, meaning, a sharp jaw and having a pretty nose, wich bone stand out a little. id say his nose and his eyes are the most atrative thing about his face. love a big nose on reiji, and his eyes are the most similar to his father, with that magenta color and a very intimidating gaze. In addition to having slanted eyes like his father, reiji gaze is like that of a cat, a little arrogant and seductive.

and for his body id say reiji is more of a slim kind of body, he has some good muscles for working out, reiji has good arms and shoulders, but his hands are really pretty, has long fingers and well treated nails. and as shu he also has a prominent v line, but reiji waist is more small.

reiji also takes good care of his body hair, the man shave for having a good smooth skin everywhere, yes, everywhere. and as shu, has that thing that dont let him grow a hole beard so he often shave it.

random stuff

soo... reiji is a little freak and you can't change my mind, he definetly has some obsessions and cant get over it, he just love things much he cant live without doing it, and to begin with one thing is his obvious collection of fancy plates, cups, teapots and has a little collection of rare spoons. reiji puts them in diferent parts of the manor just to look at them everywhere he goes, and he does not use any of them. he cleans them once a week.

and speaking of his obsessions, reiji has a secret but popular social media where he post is collection, he is very famous and dont show his face.

Sleep Headcanons💤

How your non-human husbandos need or not need to sleep. This is part of Better Find Husbandos AU and speaks of the times when reader was in a relationship with each of the boys. Contains: fluff! Domestic slice of life! Headcanons canon for Better Find Husbandos!

Characters: Venti, Albedo, Xiao, Scara/Wanderer/Kuni in order x female reader. (arranged in the order reader slept with them :3)

Venti

The body your dear wind spirit created to inhabit completely resembles the one of a human. Even if he is strong and resistant due to his nature, he needs to eat, drink, go to the bathroom, etc, to sustain this vessel without resorting to using his Archon or wind spirit powers, which cost energy that is no longer unlimited now that he doesn't have the Gnosis anymore.

Therefore, obviously, he totally needs to sleep. He sleeps every single night (or day, after a hangover) like any healthy human. That keeps him in shape and without the need to cheat and grab elemental or divine energy from his stash, which he only does when strictly needed. Because of this, in his humanoid, weakened state, it's really easy for him to get drunk. But if something very bad happens and he needs to sober up to protect you, he won't hesistate to grab that power and using it to strengthen or modify his body and fight alongside you.

As I said, he sleeps every night and he likes doing it with you. He was so happy when you gave him a room in your teapot, since then he didn't need to sleep on the street or sneaking under Diluc's vines to get shelter. But ever since you got intimate with him he doesn't use that room and to be perfectly clear, he has no intentions to go back to it. He crawls into your bed every single night and he loves it.

He uses the cute little pajamas you made for him when Barbara taught you how to sew, sleeping hat and all. He snuggles up to you and demands being little spoon. He snores all night, most of the time softly light a spring breeze, but some nights noisily like a hurricane, and he drools all over your pillow.

Albedo

Your dear friend Albedo, the chalkboy, the homunculus. It took a bit of time of friendship and some nights of sharing the bed with him whether because there was a snowstorm after you visited his lab and you were trapped or because he invited you with a straight face, but you learned about his sleeping habits too.

Very much like Venti, he needs to sleep and eat. He is a nice cook but he has weird tastes, such as eating spiders or so, but when he has guests he cooks decent food. He does have some resistance when it comes to spending some days without sleep, but it's not clear if this is due to his physical nature or his workaholic behavior. Sometimes he works for three days in his experiments running on 3 hours of sleep and caffeine seeminly unaffected. But besides those marathons, he does sleep regularly. He is careful with his health and the health of those close to him, like Klee and Sucrose, and he always exercises and eats healthy. (Matbe thst's why he is obsesses with the nutrients of spider and other unconventional foods) He is a grat brother and a grear friend and makes healthy foods for Klee and forces Sucrose in and out of bed whenever she is in one of those workaholic insomniac marathons or depressive strikes that prevent her from going out. After all, she doesn't have his superhuman resistance.

From the few times you slept with him, you know that he has a comfy double bed in a room behind his lab, sheltered from the frigid environment of Dragonspine. You were super comfy there, but honestly Albedo is kinda restless even when he sleeps. Apparently his curiosity doesn't stop even if he is dreaming, and he twitches and mumbles things about his experiments in his sleep. Sometimes he sits up, turns on the lamp, and writes notes on the notepad he keeps on the nightstand for when he gets ideas in the middle of the night. The few times you were with him, he apologized for waking you up, he gave you a warm smile and a gentle kiss and tucked you back, spooning you just to fall back asleep and mumble things about whopperflowers in your ear while his hand twitched like he was trying to write in his dreams.

Xiao

Xiao doesn't need to sleep. He can go an entire century without doing it, but it doesn't mean that doesn't take a toll on him, or that sleep doesn't help him. In fact, it's wonderful for his health, both psychological and physical, making him get stronger.

But sleeping is not easy for him. He hadn't slept in a long time, because he is scared of stopping his watch over Liyue for the smallest second, and because the nightmares he gets are atrocious.

It was only very deep into his relationship with you that you convinced him to sleep. The bond you have with him is so special, not only you cleanse his karmic debt energy but also your proximity manages to calm him down enough as to fall asleep. It took a long time to reach this stage but then when he laid by his side he could finally sleep, even if Venti was making a ruckus with his snoring and drooling. He loves him too, and wants to protect the both of you. So no, he doesn't need to sleep, and most of the time he is only keeping guard while in bed with you, enjoying the peace and quiet and your proximity, the sound of your breath. But sometimes he does relish in the luxury of sleeping by your side, and the morning after he always feels so refreshed that he feels like a different person: light, stronger, healthy.

He is a big spoon with an iron grip, his protective instincts never go down, not even when he is asleep.

Kuni

Ei created Kuni based on Khaenrian technology that aspired to create perfect humans, (such as Rinherdotir plans for Albedo) with a twist. She didn't want to create a human, he wanted a puppet that could fool humans into thinking that it was one of them.

She did succeed in making him indistinguishable from a human from head to toe. On the outside. But on the inside, he doesn't have the same organs humans have, (not even synthetic, improved humanly organs like the ones Albedo has) but synthetic organs that even if they are not like the ones of humans, they were designed to mimick their noticeable functions.

That is to say, as we all know, Kuni can drink and eat, and feel the flavor of the food. He loves bitter tea and despises sweets. But that doesn't mean he needs to expell those things. In fact, his "stomach" will dissolve everything with a potent acid which its recepy was lost along with Khaenria's demise.

So that's about all his bodily functions: he can perform them, to trick humans, because that was his original purpose. But he doesn't need to do it to survive. Eating, drinking, peeing, breathing. That is unnecessary keeping himself alive. That's just for show (As Kabukimono, not only he began drinking to pass as a human, but also he learned that he had to blink often to make humans less uncomfortable). Or for pleasure.

Because he knows you love when he breathes in your neck when he gives you kisses. And he loves to enjoy the flavor and aftertaste of a bitter black tea. Or to accompany you with a little platter of whatever you two are making for dinner for you and your glutton floaty companion.

Same goes for sleeping. He doesn't need to sleep. He could go an eternity without doing it and he would not die, his body would not get weaker. And as Kunikuzushi and Scaramouche, he never slept, he deemed it lowly and weak and he considered that the fact that he was able to wake himself from the slumber in which Ei put it was a signal of his superiority.

But sleeping is good for his mental health.

Ei planned his body meticulously, making sure to be in control of all his bodily functions. But as we all know, she everything regarding his mind slipped out of her control. She wanted a thoughtless, emotionless, empty puppet. But Kuni is so much more than that.

He had his own thoughts and emotions and desires from his first waking moment, and oh those feelings were human. They were so profoundly human Ei panicked and did what she did. Because if humans do have a soul, then Kuni definitely has one too.

And even if the body and brain don't tire, age or wear down, the mind does. The heart does. The soul does. Going around without sleeping won't make his body crumble, but it sure makes him stressed, irritable, depressed.

He got back in touch with the act of sleeping when he was still the Balladeer, when he started hooking up with you. Just to play. Just to experiment. After your passionate nights, he fell to the temptation of closing his eyes while you were cuddled up against him, nestled in his bed he never used before he met you. He was just planning to rest his eyes for a while, to experiment with those mundane pleasures. He never expected them to feel so good.

Nowadays, he loves sleeping. But it has to be with you. Otherwise, who would comfort him when he gets those atrocious nightmares??

When they don't haunt them, there's nothing better than to cuddle up against you in your shared bedroom in the Teapot after a long day. To close his eyes, hold you tight and relish in the warmth of your human flesh, of your steady breath, of your beating heart. Well, maybe there is something better: to wake up beside you the next morning and play with your hair until you wake up, laughing at you because you're grumpy that he interrupted your sleep.

He demands being big spoon all the time: he NEEDS to cling to you and cage you in his arms all night to feel like you will never abandon him because he truly doesn't want to end up alone again. He doesn't hate being little spoon though, it's just that it makes him feel so...vulnerable. Receiving love always makes him feel so vulnerable. Because it reminds him of how much he is convinced that he doesn't deserve it. So getting in contact with his feelings it's a struggle for him. He prefers when you hug face to face, when you nestle your face in his chest.

The same way he loves your human flesh, you love his truly special body. You love how cool it feels. It's not cold, it's just cool. His warmth is subtle, it's there, but it's not enough to make you sweat under the covers. He is the perfect cuddle buddy for summer! You love the way he syncs his breath to yours until you fall asleep. You love the sound you hear when you press your face to his chest. That sound you found that night when you held Scaramouche close for the first time in his camp. When you discovered it ticked.

He was defensive and ashamed back then, and he is insecure until today. He is convinced he doesn't have a heart, he can't press his ear to his chest, he can't hear the magical sound you claim to hear. He thinks it's your infatuation for him playing tricks with your mind.

But you know what you hear. When you nestle your face in his chest, on the left side, you can hear it. Tic, tac, tic, tac, steady, a mechanical sound ticking like a clock. Tictactictactictac, quickens, if you mamage to fluster him. It's the only sound that soothes your nights, along with your voice, so you sleep by his side every time you can.

But when you're away in yoyr travels, so busy or imprisoned in Meropide Fortress for stealing Furina's cake that you can't even go back to spend the night in the Teapot, what can he do?

He doesn't wanna sleep. There is no point. He has spent ages without doing it, so he can keep going without sleeping until you come back.

But...

He is now a college student, and the mental health toll of having to keep up with the Akademiya classes, his classmates that seem to chase him everywhere, and the constant deadlines of his thesis is too much to bear without sleeping. He knows he wouldn't be able to survive that hell without ending up snapping and kicking some sage's butt if he doesn't sleep regularly. He doesn't want to upset Nahida, so he does sleep when he has time. But it's just not the same without you! Hurry up and come back from those dumb travels to cuddle him!
