INTRODUCTION

As per your vote, Kuruk Weekend will happen between JANUARY 10th and JANUARY 12th, 2025!

When sharing your work, please tag with #kurukwknd25 and mention @kuruk-weekend. The ao3 collection is called Kuruk_Weekend_2025. Adding your work to the collection is optional.

What works will be accepted? Everything, as long as it adheres to the rules. This means one-shots, multi-chapters, art, moodboards, head-canons, meta-analyses or anything else you want to create.

RULES

1. Be kind! Only provide constructive criticism when asked and don’t hate on other people’s work. This means ship and let ship, don’t like don’t read, no kink-shaming, etc;

2. Your work must be your own! No AI and no plagiarism!;

3. Sexual content must happen between adults. Submissions containing ped*philia will not be shared. Works that discuss the theme will be accepted as long as appropriately tagged.

4. Submissions containing racist, ableist, sexist, queerphobic or any other hate content will not be shared. Works that explore hate as a theme will be accepted as long as appropriately tagged.

5. Tag your work! And use Tumblr’s community labels if needed.

since i have endless brainrot for all of the above ships (and the similarities that they share) i wanted to make a blog solely dedicated to the relationships between the avatars and their partners.

on this blog you can expect to find content of:

i’ll be posting content from across the franchise, which will include the novels, the shows, the comics, extended lore, and all new content from avatar studios! i’ll also be reblogging fanart (no reposts here). if you’re familiar with the @kataangfanartarchive (one of my other blogs) the tagging system will be quite thorough so the fanart can easily be found.

if you have any requests or questions, feel free to send an ask to this blog or my main @kataraslove. i won’t be reblogging any critiques; this will be a safe space for shippers of all the aforementioned ships! Ok do you guys know that super popular theory about how the avatar looks like their past life's love, right? right, of course you do. Here is what keeps eating at me:

THESE 4 MOTHERFUCKERS (Jesa art by Comicdraghon)

So: Kyoshi is supposed to look like Ummi, Kuruk's wife. But it's canon that she looks like Jesa (her mom)

And it's also canon that Jesa looks like Yangchen, funnily enough

So this means 2 things:

1. Kyoshi looks like Yangchen

2. Kuruk, whose spiritual mentor was Yangchen, decided to get together with someone who looked exactly like her

Anyway, this has been on my mind for literal months, so now you're cursed as well. RIP to you Kuruk, Freud would have loved you
