Is There a Dragon Flyer "Elite"? (RTTE Headcanon/Theory)
Hello, everyone! Welcome to another HTTYD post! Sorry for the hiatus, but I'm back with another article of lore on the Dragon Flyers. Please enjoy!
This article is a continuation of my previous post on this topic (here) about dragonskin uses. Today's topic will discuss if these skins provide an established hierarchy of elitism in these Flyers (and Hunters) — particularly the Malevolent Twelve, a squadron of Flyers personally led and taught by Krogan who defeated the Dragon Riders in Season 5's episodes "Dawn of Destruction" and "Wings of War".
This is probably just me, but I have a headcanon that there's an elite among the Dragon Flyers under Krogan's command. Of course, naturally, there'll always be an elite group — "veterans," in other words — in every organization or unit. Doesn't matter if it's a small unit, a military or business organization, or anything else. The same with the Dragon Hunters and the Dragon Flyers.
In fact, Viggo even talked to Ryker about moving the "elite guard" (of Hunters or more possibly the Grimborn Family's personal guards) to prepare for the Riders' attack on their secret base in Season 4's episode "Twintuition".
But back to the Flyers. I've noticed something very interesting. As you know from both the picture earlier above (the top photo), and down below, you'll see that the only Flyers that are often seen with Krogan are these guys. Particularly this guy below that's standing next to Krogan in Season 6's episode "Chain of Command".
Of course, since this is DreamWorks Dragons, and since there isn't any rhyme or reason when it comes to the minion character design, I may be just imagining things and that them being near Krogan is just a coincidence.
However, as I've stated in my previous article, when it comes to the Flyers with the Zippleback skins and the gold dragonskins, respectively, they look to be more seasoned and ruthless compared to the Flyers with the poorly tanned Nightmare skins (or whatever those skins are), who often look nervous or act like they just graduated from Dragon Flyer Cadet Academy. 😂
In the Season 6 episode "Darkest Night", one of Stoick's main attackers is this guy in a gold-dragon-skin outfit, and also the Flyer with a similar outfit but different dragon (compare to the Flyer above) who tag-team to grievously wound Stoick.
(You'll find him again in later photos)
It's possible that these two were part of the "Deadly Dozen" from Dawn of Destruction and Wings of War, since it's likely that Krogan or Johann would've sent some of their best Flyers to take out an important figure, especially since Johann would've known about Stoick's legendary martial prowess and would've most likely not wanted to take any chances. Taking out Stoick would've stalled Berk's capability to continue their fight against the Hunters.
in "Dawn of Destruction", this Gold-skin Flyer was able keep up with Astrid and was able to hit her if it hadn't been for Hiccup's trap.
And let us not forget the infamous Mr. "Murderous Pile of Yak Dung", the Gold-skin Flyer that the Gang captured and interrogated in the Season 6 episode "Guardians of Vanaheim". Even while held captive, "Yak-dung" not only tries to recruit the Twins and use them to help him escape, but takes his chance to break free and steal the Dragon Eye Lens that Fishlegs and the Twins were turning Osvald's hut upside-down and inside-out to find, before leaving to escape the island. That is, if he hadn't fatally run into a pack of very hungry Grim Gnashers. RIP. His sacrifice will be remembered. 💀
"Krogan's Best"
In the Season 5 episode "Dawn of Destruction", we are met with a squadron of 12 Flyers who commence a surprise early-morning raid on the Dragon Riders' main base and quickly neutralize the Riders and forcing them to make a tactical retreat.
These Flyers are well-trained, well-armed, and well-coordinated, able to work together to out-maneuver the Riders and corner them. It's obvious that Krogan trained them in air-to-air combat for this very purpose.
In this very same episode, Ruffnut and Tuffnut even commented after nearly getting roasted by a passing Flyer protecting his wingman's six:
|| Tuffnut: Hey, not for nothing, but these guys are pretty good! || || Ruffnut: They're are kicking our butts! ||
And Snotlout even warns Hiccup that:
|| Those Flyers are all over the place and well-trained. ||
In "Wings of War, Part 1", after getting harassed and pursued by those Flyers from Caldera Cay (DOTW's home), Snotlout and Tuffnut say this about the Flyers:
|| Snotlout: Whoa! Oh, man, those guys are good! || || Tuffnut: I'd like to train with their trainer. ||
In the same episode, talking about that particular team of Flyers — whom I'd like to call "Krogan's Disciples" and "The Malevolent Twelve" or "The Deadly Dozen" — that were chasing the Gang from Dragon's Edge, Krogan himself told Viggo:
||"Those are 12 of my most fearless and gifted warriors. I doubt they'll have much of an issue."||
The Flyers which made up those 12 elites are those with Zippleback and the gold-scaled dragonskins. So it's very much possible that these skins are only given to elites, of a sort.
Furthermore, most of the Flyers I saw in those shots had Nightmare dragonskin skirts (kilts? lol). The Flyers with the gold-scaled dragonskin shirts seem to have vambraces made of Gronkle dragonskin, based on the coloring. Don't quote me on that, since I could be wrong. Since these dragons are hard to kill, that would definitely make them skilled dragon slayers.
Also, speaking of which, there was at least ONE Flyer amongst the "Deadly Dozen," wearing Nightmare(?) skins and a Nadder wing skirt, and flying a green Singetail. You can find him if you squint in "Wings of War, Part 1".
I've edited the shots to make them more easier to see, but please forgive me for the blurry close-up shots. Nothing I can do to prevent that unless somebody has a better photo editing software than I do (I use Canva).
You see him again, here, with the others when they hit the fog bank, which covers the length of the Inner Isles.
(That alone makes me wanna do an article that goes in depth into the reason the Inner Isles in Berk seem to have a different climate from the rest of the archipelago.)
Here's a clearer shot from "Chain of Command", in S6. Considering that he's wearing the same garb and riding the same colored Singetail, he could be the same guy. However, with DreamWorks Dragons being DreamWorks Dragons, who enjoy making clones of the minions, we can only guess. 🤷♂️
Not gonna lie, though: that's a really nice getup. 👀
Flyer Leader: Krogan's Right-Hand!
In several episodes, but most memorably in "Family Matters," one notable Flyer stands out from the others: the Flyer Leader.
As far as elites go, he's probably as far up as one can go outside of Krogan's position as Headmaster of the "Flyer Warthunder". He's his right-hand man. His leftenant/lieutenant. His chief subordinate.
Sadly, we don't know anything about his past or about his history with Krogan and the Flyers. 😔 (I should just go and write a fanfic and create my own lore for the Flyer Leader at this point. 🤩) However, at some point, after passing his training as a Flyer, I assume he became a direct disciple under Krogan in the same way Krogan was under Drago, and he was competent enough to be entrusted with various administrative and martial tasks and to lead warthunders out for certain missions whenever Krogan either wasn't available or couldn't be bothered to do it himself.
As seen in every episode he's been in, the Flyer Leader is shown to be a capable and reliable man to whom Krogan can leave things without much thought. This is amazing considering Krogan isn't the type who shares power with anyone but himself — as evidenced by his treatment towards Viggo and Johann. Though it probably helps that, so far as we know, the Flyer Leader isn't interested in more power and authority and is content being the Chief Lieutenant. (Though it would be pretty interesting if he is capable due to his ambition to aim higher and eventually replace Krogan as Chief of the Flyers.)
Anyway, the Flyer Leader is, aside from Krogan, the head honcho of the Flyers, and, as such, has much field command whenever Krogan's not around. He's Krogan's representative, almost (if Krogan was interested in allowing that).
The fact that Krogan was confident enough to entrust the all-important task of protecting the Singetail Rookery from any intruders once again proves, in my opinion, how adept the Flyer Leader is and how much Krogan trusts him enough to leave this vital facility to him.
And he's not stupid. Even when the Riders were able to free the Singetails captured in Deathsong amber, the Singetails, in order to protect the eggs, didn't leave as expected, unexpectedly giving the Flyer Leader extra pieces to drive the Riders into a corner. And instead of attacking them, knowing that doing so in cramped quarters and risking attacks from the Singetails due to the rookery being in the cave labyrinth, he instead orders word to be sent to Krogan about the incident and to focus everything he has onto the cave entrance and pin the Riders there until help arrives.
Little did he know that the Riders (thanks to Fishlegs impromptu problem solving) did something completely unexpected and did something that no-one could've thought that they would dare to do: lure a Cavern Crasher — an egg-eating dragon — into the Singetail Rookery and cause a disturbance that would cause a panic, allowing them to escape.
Honestly, if they hadn't done that, I think he would've been able to either capture them or kill them. The Riders themselves, before Fishlegs came with his crazy plan, were beginning to doubt they'd be able to break out before reinforcements arrived.
He is sadly left behind in a cocoon of amber. How tragic. 😔🙏🏻😂
I kinda find it ironic how he lost because of plot armor. I mean, when you watch the episode, you notice that he was given everything he needed to make sure that the Rookery stayed in their hands: About 100 or so Hunter grunts to do the patrols, guard-duty, and menial tasks such as taking care of the dragons; a squadron of Dragon Flyers, assumedly all elites from his own squad (so probably between 4-8 Flyers, certainly no more than 12); no more than 5 or so catapults and ballistae; presumedly several trap devices like net ballistae or whatever; and I'm assuming he has a reserve force of men at hand to rotate shifts and replace any troops that are injured, killed, or absent. So around 100-200 men, give or take a hundred. This is a LARGE GROUP to be commanding and organizing.
I don't care what the episode showed, you'd need that much personnel, if not more, just to do patrols, manage the dragons, man the catapults and traps, etc, etc, AND have a reserve to use to rotate shifts — this is an important base, after all! It's a BIG JOB!
That being said, I could be overestimating the numbers here a bit based on my assumption that they'd need that much personnel to deal with the Riders AND any Singetails they capture and guarding the two Deathsongs and Singetail eggs as well. With that being the case, I will minus this and assume that he has, at minimum, no less than 100 men, split into companies of 50 men so that they can rotate around the clock.
Regardless of the actual numbers, the fact that he was given a lot of resources, and still lost due to an unexpected wild card the Riders played on him is just bad luck.
Personally, I don't think that Krogan would let him live for having failed his expectations and mission so thoroughly. They basically lost their source of Singetails and the island is now useless and can't be used further.
However, that being said, perhaps after hearing the explanation, and not wanting to lose a valuable fighter, he could've just let him live but demoted him, since after this, we no longer see him again, and Krogan takes over direct command in the finale episode.
Or heck, maybe the Flyer Leader deserted, knowing what his fate would be, and didn't want to be there for Krogan to find.
I'm considering the possibility that losing his Singetail Rookery didn't waylay Krogan that much, since he had a bunch of Flyers scout out and attack the Sentinals and the Riders for the next two episodes. And in the final two, it appears that Krogan came with a force no greater than 50 Flyers, including himself. I don't know if he already had this force gathered up some time before "Family Matters," or if he had another Rookery(ies) besides the one handled by the Flyer Leader.
If that's the case, then it could be likely that Honcho is doing swell but demoted. But since we know that Krogan dislikes failure, much like Drago does and — like master, like apprentice — punishes his failure with DEATH.
For more on the Flyer Leader and his possible fate after "Family Matters", click the link to my old article here.
What's also interesting is that the Flyer Leader is also the one who led that certain "Elite Dozen" team that pursued the Gang in "Dawn of Destruction" and "Wings of War, Parts 1 and 2" as well.
Personally, I love this character, and I personally wish he showed up in more episodes. He was quite the competent minor villain who was able to corner and pressure the Riders more than a few times. (He certainly did a better job than Savage and Vorg did.😤)
Conclusion:
So I conclude this article by stating that I believe that those 12 Flyers — and any other Flyers with the same garb — are elites due to the garb they wear and experience in combat. They're also, presumedly, among the most fanatical and ruthless of Krogan's Flyers (though the same could be said for all of the Flyers, as a whole). Plus, they were the ones who gave the Gang the most trouble with their excellent training, coordination, and teamwork.
What do you guys think? What are your thoughts on this? I'm curious.
Anyway, thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this article! See you in the next one!
Long Live the Night!

I have not been able to get this idea out of my head of Freya x female reader where reader is helping her comb/groom her wings and then after they settle in to go to sleep but it's cold so Freya wraps her wings around reader to keep them warm.
I'd love if you could do something like this when you have a moment please
This one seems cute and interesting, I never thought Freya would be one of my first in my inbox. I'll do my best! 🫰
FREYA × F!READER
Warm Embrace
Rating: Fluffy with a feathery soft pillow
Warnings: none (mentions of a dead loved one???)
Requested by: Anonymous
★★★★★★★★★
It was another night in Vanaheim. The nature around you singing it's lively lullaby as you say by the fire. Freyr making a title to himself as he tells stories to the others. You on the other hand were a little ways off from the group. You were helping your beloved girlfriend with her newly found wings she longed for so long. You loved seeing her free like this. Ever since you found her in Midgard, or more like she found you, she was brooding and grief stricken. She brought you here to Vanaheim to help with the cause here, the Aesir's iron grip on this world.
You helped your love comb through her hair and wings. Her wings were beautiful just like her. Ever since Kratos helped her get her freedom back she looked more brighter than ever. Her red and white wings shimmered as a result of her new attitude. You hummed a little tune as you worked on one wing.
"Your voice is beautiful my love, it always puts me at ease" Freya smiled as she looked back you.
"thank you, my mother taught me how to sing before she left the 9 realms. She had a beautiful singing voice." You smiled at her compliment, "she always gave the best warm hugs at night when nights were cold. We didn't have much but she was enough for me..."
Freya pondered secretly in thought. She brushed through her hair one last time before the night started to die down.
"We should get some rest before Freyr starts up again" Freya smiled as she got up, putting away her wings. You nodded in agreement, stifling a yawn.
You two setting into your tent nearby. You crawl into the little bed "nest" you made so it be fluffy and comfortable. You both cuddle together, you being the little spoon bc Freya is taller than you by at least half a foot give or take. You didn't mind the height difference though. Means more warm snuggles!
"Good night Freya" you said quietly.
"Sleep well Y/N" she replied.
As the night grew darker, the temperature in Vanaheim got colder, must be a cold snap from Fimblwintr. You shivered a bit under your blanket with Freya. You were used to the cold but sometimes it gets to you. You snuggled closer to Freya, hoping to steal her warmth. What you felt next was surprising. It was her wings. She laid one across you like a very warm blanket. Holy crap it was so soft! You snuggled into them and opened your eyes.
"All warm Y/N?" Freya chuckled.
You nodded and kissed her sweetly, "Yup! You're too sweet for your own good!"
"I should say the same for you, you've helped me out all this time...this past year or so...I'm glad you've helped me open my eyes." Freya smiled and nuzzled your hair.
Your heart squeezed at the sentimental words. You hugged her close under her wing and never let go once you fell back asleep. The night was peaceful after than.
Once you two woke up in the morning, well only you, Freya had woken up earlier but stuck something in your hair. It was one of her feathers. You smiled at the kind gesture and ran out the tent to go meet your beloved girlfriend and her team for breakfast and patrols.
Gods you loved that warrior woman.

I wonder how Kratos feels about Atreus being put through the wringer in terms of responsibility? He is charged with being the champion of the Jötnar, divided between his ties with Midgard, Jotunheim, Vanaheim, etc., and rcently becoming an older brother? Most people wouldn't be able to bear the burden at such young an age. I'm certain these would be King Leonidas levels of responsibility.
I suppose he'd be proud of Atreus but also worry about his workload loll And yeah, Atreus does have a lot on his shoulders; thankfully he's got a good support team to help him out ;)
Also, as a note to my followers in general - if I don't reply to an ask, it's because I'm not interested enough to answer, or I feel that there isn't much of an answer to give ^^;; Just wanted to give a heads-up!

Ranking RTTE Seasons
This list might offend some people 😬😬 here goes nothin
6) Season 1
Season 1 isn't bad - the first episode is actually one of my favourites - it's just it was more of a taster, a dip in the water shall we say. No huge plots or anything, everything's mostly being introduced. But still fun.
Fave episodes: Eye of the Beholder, Imperfect Harmony, Gone Gustav Gone, Have Dragon Will Travel Pt. 2
5) Season 3
Again, nothing wrong with Season 3 - hello?? Buffalord Soldier?? Flawless - but just purely out of the most memorable episodes and most enjoyable episodes, wasn't as much as some of the other seasons. But RTTE is perfect so Season 3 is still top notch TV 😩
Fave episodes: Buffalord Soldier, A Grim Retreat, Defenders of the Wing Pt. 1
4) Season 4
I feel like I'm committing a crime ranking this one so low because this season is so good but somehow the others are even better (idk how no one is talking about RTTE outside of the Httyd random). For me, there were a couple of great filler episodes but there was also great plot related episodes. I just think apart from the the Hiccstrid episodes and maybe one other, i don't think about this season much, I rewatch the other ones a lot more. That's not to say it isn't good because the episodes i do watch are *chef's kiss*. How can we forget this season is the long awaited birthplace of Hiccstrid??
Fave episodes: Gruff Around the Edges, Not Lout, The Longest Day, Out of the Frying Pan, Blindsided, Shell Shocked Pt. 1 & 2
3) Season 6
For me, a lot of my nostalgia for this show lies in the earlier seasons (1-3) so how it went was I lost touch with the Httyd fandom for a couple years (around 2018) and then came back in 2020 after RTTE Seasons 5/6 and Httyd 3 had been released so I kinda missed out on the hype for it which is really annoying because as season 6 is the finale, I feel like it would've been a great high for the fandom. And then Httyd 3 was the ultimate finale but that's a story for another day. Anyways, I enjoyed a lot of episodes in this season, filler and plot. I think the episodes were enjoyable and it was a very well done send off to the show, i mean the final battle/epilogue always makes me emotional for some reason. Plus, all the little Hiccstrid moments were so cute this season, i mean, the hair touches?? Too much. I also liked how they tied everything up to Httyd 2 quite perfectly, with Drago, Valka, the Bewilderbeast and other small details - it was well thought out.
Fave episodes: All Bark, No Bite, A Gruff Separation, Mi Amore Wing, Family Matters, Darkest Night, Guardians of Vanaheim, King of Dragons Pt. 1 & 2
2) Season 2
This was a real toughie because Season 2 is such a great one, I mean it's nostalgic and so enjoyable and funny and there's so many great moments that happen. The filler episodes are so entertaining and the plot based ones were really interesting, I find season 2 to be so easily rewatchable. I also liked the subplots in the season between certain characters and i think it had some of the best stories.
Fave episodes: Team Astrid, Night of the Hunters Pt. 1 & 2, Bad Moon Rising, Snotlout Gets the Axe, The Zippleback Experience, Snow Way Out, Edge of Disaster Pt. 1 & 2, Maces and Talons Pt. 2
And finally...
1) Season 5 - My Favourite Season
I feel like a lot of people are gonna disagree with me on this bc i don't really see a lot of people talking about the episodes in season 5 much but what the hell. Season 5 was definitely my favourite season. The lighthearted episodes were just so goddamn rewatchable and good, most of my favourite episodes in this season are actually fillers. But I don't know why, there's something about the vibe of season 5 that i just love, it feels...calm?? In a way?? I don't know. But this season just has so many of my favourite moments in the show, maybe in the franchise.
Fave episodes: Living on the Edge, Sandbusted, Something Rotten on Beserker Island, Snotlout's Angels, A Matter of Perspective, Dawn of Destruction, The Wings of War Pt. 1 & 2, No Dragon Left Behind, Snuffnut.
And there ya go! Just a quick reminder that this is completely my opinion and how I feel about the seasons, definitely not saying any of this is a straight up fact.
Bonus: My Overall Fave Episodes:
Night of the Hunters Pt. 1 & 2, Bad Moon Rising, Buffalord Soldier, The Longest Day, Blindsided, She'll Shocked Pt. 1 & 2, Sandbusted, Snotlout's Angels, Dawn of Destruction, Mi Amore Wing, Darkest Night and King of Dragons Pt. 1 & 2.
Lemme know what you guys think!

But then her mother can find someone for Sigyn to choose. As the wife of a war, she will be able to lead a simple life without big commitments and a big stage. Everything Sigyn wants for her future life. But soon arriving in Asgard, her future husband is not there, worse, everyone thinks she is the bride for Loki Odin's youngest son.
The Trickster’s Sword story by @roruna
Even in a warrior culture, nobility have guards. Odin himself had an elite team called the Crimson Hawks. All of Queen Frigga’s ladies in waiting were training in the art of the blade as well as magic. Lady Sif and the Warriors Three weren’t assigned to guard Thor but they joined him on all his more dangerous adventures so it amounted to the same thing. Only the trickster prince, Loki, didn’t have a sword of his own.
If Asgard’s people didn’t wholly trust Loki, the feeling was entirely mutual. At first, Odin tried to assign one of his Crimson Hawks as Loki’s personal bodyguard. It was seen as a great honor that the All-Father himself would trust anyone with the well being of one of his heirs. Loki got rid of the chosen warrior easily enough. It was simply a matter of pitting the Crimson Hawk’s loyalty to Odin against his loyalty to his protectorate.
Loki snuck out of the palace with only his guard, to steal some artifact from the trolls in the southern mountains of Asgard. Odin demanded to know where Loki had gone. The Crimson Hawk betrayed Loki’s trust immediately and told the All-Father everything. He didn’t lose his position as a Crimson Hawk but he would no longer have the honor of protecting the All-Father’s son for allowing Loki to endanger himself. You can’t trust anyone who fights for honor.
Then Queen Frigga hired a mercenary and paid an eye-watering amount of gold to keep Lokialive and well. A decent disguise, a clandestine meeting in a shady tavern and offering more money to assassinate Loki was all it took to get rid of that man. You can’t trust anyone who fights for money.
Watching Thor and his companions, Loki knew what he needed in a bodyguard. Sif and the Warriors Three committed treason and discarded priceless treasures on a regular basis. So did Loki. All out of love for Thor. But since it was hard enough to get his own family and friends to feel any love for him, Loki could at least find someone who wouldn’t be motivated by honor or money.
He went to Vanaheim. Specifically, to Sessrumnir, Freya’s hall. She and her Valkyries fought at Odin’s side centuries ago. They were Asgard’s allies but they were not of Asgard. They respected Odin but they didn’t serve him. Among Valkyries he was sure to find someone who wouldn’t fight for Asgard’s honor. And hopefully, since Freya was his grandfather’s sister, there could be at least a little bit of familial affection.
Freya refused to release any of her Valkyries from her service to guard Loki. They were warriors not nursemaids, she said. She left Loki sitting in her hall, ordering her son to play host until her troublemaking guest was gone. Sigurd Iwaldison was Freya’s only son. He didn’t quite fit in Nidavellir among his dwarven brothers. He stood out several feet in fact. And he didn’t fit in with his mother and sisters any better in Vanaheim. As far as Freya was concerned, men weren’t for talking to.
“Asgard has many great warriors, your highness. Surely you didn’t need to come all this way for a personal guard,” Sigurd said.
“There are no warriors in Asgard that meet my standards,” Loki said. “I cannot trust someone who fights for honor, I’m not honorable enough for that. And I cannot trust someone who fights for wealth, I’m wealthy enough to know that.”
“So you came to Valkyries because they do not fight for wealth, nor do they care what Asgard thinks of them,” Sigurd said.
“Precisely,” Loki said and with a smirk that made Sigurd’s back sweat, he asked, “Are you a warrior too, Iwaldison?”
No self respecting dwarf wouldn’t know how to wield an ax and Freya would not have any of her children, even if he was a son, not skilled in wielding a sword. So Loki offered him the position.
“You’d be an ideal guard,” Loki said. “You have no loyalty to Asgard or Odin and your father is rich even by dwarf standards. I can trust you not to betray me for honor or money.”
“Are you sure that would be enough, your highness?” Sigurd asked.
“I suppose there is one detail I nearly overlooked,” Loki said.
Loki leaned forward until his face was only a couple of inches from Sigurd’s. He held his face with both hands and gave Sigurd his most charming smile.
“Sigurd Iwaldison, fall in love with me,” Loki ordered. That should not have worked. Sigurd swore it hadn’t worked. Even as he followed Loki back to Asgard like a puppy, he insisted that hadn’t worked. He believed himself until Loki went on another adventure with his brother, Lady Sif and the Warriors Three. Loki used magic and illusions and deception to keep his brother and their companions alive. He used every trick he had to ensure that their adventure was a success.
Thor, Sif and the Warriors Three all teased Loki for his underhanded ways. And as much as Loki wanted to act like he didn’t care about this friendly mockery, Sigurd could see when Loki let the mask slip.
Sigurd fell in love with Loki when he saw that Loki was willing to risk his life and sacrifice his own pride so that his older brother could shine like the sun. There was nothing Loki wouldn’t give for his family’s, for Asgard’s, sake.
How did no one see that?
How did Thor and Odin not realize that everything Loki did was for their sake? No one saw him. No one heard him. But Sigurd saw Loki, he watched him all the time. Sigurd heard Loki, he listened for him all the time. He was Loki’s personal guard and he loved Loki better than Loki’s own kin did. Once, in the early days of serving Loki, Sigurd was given three orders.
“These will be your standing orders,” Loki told him. “If I give you no other instructions, these orders are always in place.”
“Yes, your highness,” Sigurd said.
“Protect me,” Loki said.
“This may seem self-evident because you are my personal guard but you must keep in mind that you don’t serve Odin and you don’t serve Asgard. You work for me. So do try not to let some sense of conscience or fair play or something interfere with your duty to keep me alive and unharmed.”
“Yes, your highness. I will protect you.”
“My next order is for you to protect yourself,” Loki said. He raised his chin haughtily.
“I’m notasking you this for your sake, if you take stupid risks and get hurt or killed, you’re no good to me.”
“Yes, your highness. I will protect myself.”
“And my final order is for you to protect yourself,” he said. With a gentle smile and speaking
more softly, he said, “This time I am asking you this for your own sake. I don’t want to see you get hurt.”
“Yes, your highness,” Sigurd replied, his heart beating faster.
And then Odin declared that Thor would be crowned king.
Loki shared his concerns for Thor’s suitability as king and only Sigurd heard him. When Loki devised a plan that would surely prove that Thor was eager for any excuse to declare war with Jotunheim, only Sigurd saw Loki sneak a pair of frost giants into Asgard. He didn’t say anything when Thor demanded to go to Jotunheim to investigate. He didn’t say anything after Thor was banished and Sif and the Warriors Three became suspicious of Loki.
Sigurd didn’t object or try to stop Loki doing what he wanted and he didn’t betray his trust
because he knew it could lead to Loki’s arrest. He didn’t even voice disapproval when Loki sent the Destroyer to kill Thor, his friends and whatever mortals might get caught in the crossfire.
When Thor went after Loki to stop him using the bifrost to destroy Jotunheim, of course Sigurd went after Thor. He had to protect Loki from his brother’s wrath, however justified.
Sigurd was no match against a Thor who had proven himself worthy of wielding Mjolnir. And when Sigurd regained consciousness, the bifrost was already destroyed, Odin was awake and Loki had already let go of Gungnir. Even if his beloved lord had committed suicide, Sigurd knew who was truly to blame. Odin always favored Thor and Thor treated Loki little better than a servant. He had to avenge Loki. Sigurd Iwaldison died on the broken rainbow bridge when Gungnir impaled him.
Mobiu's secret
As tourists flock to the city, intrigued by the legend of the curse of the three sisters, bodies are found along the shore.
200 years ago, in a small coastal town, the three sisters Lorelei, Aurora and Sigyn were convicted as witches. Stones were tied to their feet and thrown into the sea.
Since then, their spirits have risen from their watery grave every summer to exact revenge on the townsfolk. They drive into the bodies of young women and lure men to their deaths.
15-year-old Sig takes care of the old lighthouse. Like many locals, she has resigned herself to the city's fate. She knows that the sea will again wash three bodies onto the shore this year. But only Sig sees what others don't see... And when Mobius shows up, she knows he has to go, but murders get worse. Mobiu's companion will become the hunted itself, and mystery will no longer remain a mystery.
curses and other disasters
When Loki abandons Sigyn, she does what any young witch would have done in her place: run a bath, mix herself a decent drink, and curse the bastard who broke her heart. Nine years later, Sigyn is still not over Loki, and when he returns to Vanaheim for the annual Fall Festival, she chooses to ignore him. Easier said than done, because Sigyn's old curse only unfolds its full effect with Loki's visit, and suddenly both their lives are in danger. Loki, so angry at Sigyn's inability to control herself as she has never really mastered her magic, curses her back causing Sigyn's appearance to transform into that of a classic witch. But in order to break both curses, Loki and Sigyn must - reluctantly at first - work together. But soon the two realize that the sparks aren't just flying... Not to mention a suppressed desire

Three missing girls and a trail that leads far into the past... more precisely into Sigyn's own past and dangerous consequences!
By my son's life! (inspired story by the fairy tale Rumpelstilzchen) by @jonquilclegane
Once upon a time in the realm of Asgard, there lived a humble smith named Iwaldi. He toiled day and night in his workshop, creating magnificent weapons and armor for the warriors of the land. Iwaldi had a daughter named Sigyn, who possessed a gentle spirit and a kind heart. Sigyn had inherited her father's craftsmanship and spent her days helping him with his work, finding solace in the sound of hammer on metal.
Sigyn's mother, Freya, was a woman with ambitious dreams. She yearned for Sigyn to marry a prince, someone of noble birth who would elevate their family's status. Freya knew that Odin, the mighty king of Asgard, had a son of marriable age named Thor. With cunning intent, she boasted about Sigyn's beauty and talents, hoping to catch the king's attention.
Curiosity piqued, Odin summoned Freya and inquired about the young maiden. Intrigued by the prospect of a union between their families, he asked what Sigyn could do. Unbeknownst to her mother's machinations, Sigyn did not wish to marry Thor, for her heart yearned for a different path. In a moment of quick thinking, she decided to jest and said, "I can turn wheat into gold."
Odin, wise and perceptive, saw through her falsehood. Realizing that Sigyn was lying, he grew furious with the attempt to deceive him. Determined to teach her a lesson, he imprisoned Sigyn within a tall tower and declared that she would only be released when she fulfilled her claim of turning wheat into gold, or else she would face dire consequences.
Alone in the tower, Sigyn's heart sank. She knew it was an impossible task, and tears streamed down her face as she mourned her fate. Little did she know, a mysterious magician appeared before her. He was tall and enigmatic, dressed in dark robes, and emanated an air of otherworldly power. The magician offered Sigyn a lifeline, promising to turn the wheat into gold, but at a price.
"I can help you, Sigyn," the magician whispered, his voice carrying a hint of danger. "But first, you must discover my true name. Solve that riddle, and I shall grant your wish."
Sigyn's curiosity was piqued, and the magician's presence fascinated her. She agreed to his proposition, for her desire to be free from the tower was overpowering. With a wave of his hand, the magician transformed the wheat before her into glittering gold.
News of the miraculous feat reached Odin's ears, and he was delighted. Sigyn had proven her worth, and the king allowed her to marry Prince Thor. Freya's ambitions were fulfilled, and she reveled in the triumph.
Yet, Sigyn's heart remained heavy. In the solitude of her chamber, she wept, longing for a life of her choosing rather than one dictated by others. Desperate for solace, she called out to the magician, her heart full of longing. When he appeared, she confessed her true feelings.
"I do not wish to marry Prince Thor," Sigyn whispered, her voice trembling with sincerity.
The magician, intrigued by her honesty, asked her a single question. "Do you know my name?"
Sigyn's eyes met his, and without hesitation, she spoke the truth. "I know you are Loki."
A smile played upon Loki's lips, for he had found a kindred spirit in Sigyn. They were bound by their shared desire for freedom and authenticity. In that moment, love blossomed between them, and they shared a tender kiss.
Defying their predetermined fate, Sigyn and Loki fled Asgard, seeking refuge in a distant land. There, they lived in seclusion and were blessed with a son, whom they named Vali. The family found happiness in their newfound freedom, far away from the constraints of royal expectations.
However, the news of their escape reached Odin's ears, and his wrath knew no bounds. He ordered his warriors to capture Sigyn and Loki, for he could not bear the thought of his plans being defied.
As they were captured and brought before the king, Sigyn pleaded for mercy, promising Odin a secret in exchange for the freedom of her son and husband. Her voice carried a resolute determination as she revealed her bargain.
"I will tell you how to turn wheat into gold if you release my loved ones, my son, and my husband," Sigyn declared, her eyes filled with both desperation and courage.
Odin, his thirst for knowledge insatiable, agreed to her proposition. Loki and Vali were set free, while Sigyn remained captive, her life hanging by a thread. She knew she had no knowledge of turning wheat into gold, and her heart was burdened with the weight of her sacrifice.
Unable to bear the thought of her family suffering, Sigyn made a fateful decision. She chose to take her own life, believing that her sacrifice would set them free from Odin's grasp. In her final moments, she whispered a prayer for Loki to avenge her death and bring justice to the realm.
Loki, consumed by grief and rage, vowed to fulfill Sigyn's dying wish. He bided his time, plotting against Odin, fueled by a burning desire to avenge his beloved.
And so, the tale of Sigyn, the humble smith's daughter, and Loki, the enigmatic magician, became a tragic legend passed down through the ages. Their love had defied the boundaries set by fate, and their sacrifice would forever be remembered as a testament to the power of devotion and the price of freedom.
Gods murder
Due to past crimes, Loki is in captivity in Asgard. There he is mocked, especially by the guards. The guards Ragner and Ivar, who are supposed to bring Loki his meal, fail to do so in time and help themselves to the meal. Using a ruse, Loki is able to fool the two, escape from his cell, and kill Ragner and Ivar. Consumed by hate and anger, he now tried to carry out his revenge plan, which he had harbored for a long time. He plans to destroy the Yggdrasil world tree and then replace it with a world tree in his own new image. Thus he would receive power over all worlds.
To this end, after a confrontation with Odin, he aims for the earth where his son Fenrir the giant wolf and his wife Sigyn were once abducted. Fenrir should help him destroy the world tree. He believes his wife dead, as Odin had told him, since she refused to help with banishing the wolf. Odin, who tries to stop Loki, is badly injured. Thor arrives just in time to be enlightened by his father Odin about the amulet Varga. One half of the amulet is in Loki's possession, the other half is considered lost. Odin is sure that Loki can only be stopped if you have both halves of the amulet. Knowing this, Thor rushes to Earth.
On Earth, archaeologist Dr. Quinn, her best friend Dr. Foster Doctor in Astrophysics and his assistant Darcy Lewis accidentally unearthed Fenrir's prison. Thor needs the women's help to recover the second half of the amulet. After he is able to fend off the wolf's first attack, the two women assure him of all their support. But they are the only ones who want to prevent the destruction of Yggdrasil and where the second half of the amulet is, even Loki would never have dared to dream.

Some Volva Sigyn ( MCU ) HCs :
. Volva are a Norse Counterpart of Druids and Druidesses in Gaulish and Celtic Communities
. Before Massacre of Valkyrie, she was a valkyrie and volva. After Massacre of Valkyrie, she went from being a lady in waiting of Frigga, to a bodyguard of Odin/Loki, to becoming a Princess of Asgard after she and Loki got married
. Similarly with druids and druidesses, Volvas also sometimes double as teachers, priests and priestesses, healers and several other positions etc in Norse Mythology
. Similarly with druids and druidesses, volvas also feel a strong connection with nature and spirits one way or another
. After the Massacre of Valkyrie, Sigyn struggles to make peace with the voices of the dead valkyrie ( after that horrific event ) - including her mother, who died saving her life in that event - for a time. Luckily, Loki and her survived loved ones then all do whatever they can to help her through it
. Aside from her lady in waiting and bodyguard related duties, Sigyn also sometimes double as a priestess in the Asgardian Royal Temple. Sometimes she is also seen giving tours of the temple to visitors ( including tourists, school students, etc ).
. In Queen Frigga's funeral, Sigyn, Eir and Nanna ( the latter 2 are also volvas ) are amongst the volva who are present to host Frigga's ceremony. All of them tried their best to hold themselves together, yet ALL of them ended up sobbing ( while hosting Frigga's funeral ) when they saw Frigga's dead body 🤯🤯🤯🤯🥺🥺🥺😭
. FYI Eir is a valkyrie and volva before she eventually became a Healer and volva after she and Nepr ( Nanna's dad ) got married. In fact, Eir soon became a lady in waiting of Frigga ( till Frigga's death ) a chief Healer of the Asgardian court till Ragnarok ( where she died of a broken heart after being unable to save Nanna from being tortured to death by Hela, despite her best efforts )
. Nanna becomes a Healer and volva, and later a Princess of Asgard after she and Baldr got married. Baldr sadly is amongst the first slain by Hela in Ragnarok, and after that, Nanna works to try poison Hela multiple times.....and then one night, Hela tortured Hela to death after abducting her from the Vanir cave refuges in her sleep one evening
. The search team for Nanna includes Heimdall, Sigyn, Hnossa and Gersemi ( Hogun's younger sisters who are twins ), Eir, Nepr and Sif. They all painstakingly tried to find her...yet by the time they did. It was too late
. Turns out Hela managed to lure them all to a death trap. And at notice of that, Sigyn screamed for EVERYONE in tow to run. And EVERYONE scrambled to flee as shards began flying towards them left and right. Several of them - including Nepr - didn't make it.
. Sometime soon After that event mentioned above, Eir sadly died of a broken heart
. Connecting with nature proved to be therapeutic for Sigyn especially after all she been through. She takes great pleasure in potion making, tarot cards and healing crystals, and also sometimes likes to infuse magical related matters in her baking ( which is one of her hobbies ) 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
. Frigga is a valkyrie ans volva before she became a Queen of Asgard. And Sigyn definitely can bond with Frigga, Nanna, Eir and several others of Frigga's ladies in waiting over volva related stuff ( yes several others of Frigga's ladies in waiting are volvas )
. Due to being from Alfheim, Sigyn's Alfheimr magic is a totally different animal from Nanna's Aesir magic. Ofc Sigyn and her volva cohorts often love to exchange magic related ideas and such 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
. Gullveig ( Frigga's younger sister and Hogun's mother ) is a Healer and volva before eventually becoming a Queen of Vanaheim. She also came to learn Vanir magic as she is going to be a Queen of Vanaheim.
. Hodr ( Norse God of Darkness, who is also blind ) is Hogun's dad and a King of Vanaheim till Ragnarok btw
🤯🤯🥺🥺🤯🤯

What are your thoughts on this years’s Hellfire Gala?
X-Men: Hellfire Gala 2023 #1 (MARVEL)
WORST HELLFIRE GALA EVER!
I thought it was horrifying, but clearly, that was intentional. The only positive thing I could take from it is that Magik and Rasputin IV still live. I hope Illyana has her powers restored soon, and gets her revenge against Orchis. The plot was largely overkill for the sake of shock value, but the resurrection of Kamala Khan and subsequent revelation that she is the first Inhuman mutant was unique. Oddly, I guffawed when the new team was massacred by Nimrod. It was excessive, and unexpected. The carnage was disturbing, but death doesn’t quite have the same gravitas that it used to in X-Men. It’s never been a long-term issue for mutants. However, it still disturbed me. Overall, I appreciated the issue. Sometimes, X-Men should be unpredictable, shocking, and dark, and this year’s gala was total chaos.
Final Verdict
🗡️ 🗡️ 🗡️ 3/5 Soulswords
It was a MASSIVE $#!% show!
WAIT! What?
#*&$ you, Moira!
Oh, look! Kate can use the Krakoan gates now, for some reason.
Fortunately, Rasputin IV survived the massacre, thanks to Lourdes’s teleportation ability. Rest In Peace, Lourdes. :(
Why do I find Illyana carrying Curse over her shoulder against her will humorous, when this is supposed to be tragic? Good luck in Vanaheim, ladies.
