Super Dead Soulmates
In this universe, any injury or scar you sustain appears on your soulmate. However, for as long as he could remember, Danny never gained an injury that wasn’t his own. When he was very young, his parents would always say that he was just a late bloomer and perhaps his soulmate was a few years younger than he was and thus, just wasn’t born yet. As Danny grew older, they got more absorbed in their work and just seemed to forget about the whole ordeal. Danny never asked them about it again, afraid they might think a ghost had ‘cursed’ him or something. It was hard enough to hide the lack of additional scars at school. Luckily, most people don’t get injured very often so it was easy enough to play off some of his injuries as that from a soulmate. The only ones who knew the truth were his sister and his best friends. Danny was just convinced that he didn’t have a soulmate and had accepted that fact, even if it hurt. Then the accident happened and for once, he was thankful his soulmate wouldn’t have to feel his pain. And even more so when he started to fight the other ghosts daily. Danny was content to live like this, but with more ghost fights, his injuries started piling up. Danny excused them saying that they were from his soulmate. It didn’t completely get rid of the scrutiny but most people bought it. Afterall, how else would puny Fenton get those kinds of bruises? So for a while, that excuse worked…until someone realized that Danny and Phantom’s injuries linked up (I vote Wes). Now normally, the natural conclusion would be that Danny and Phantom were the same person. But due to the fact that one of them was dead and the other clearly alive, everyone gained a new theory…that Phantom was Danny’s soulmate. It would explain the recent injuries as Phantom was often seen fighting other ghosts. And to be honest, this was the perfect cover. It’s not like Danny had an actual soulmate who might show up and this added another layer of protection against people thinking he and Phantom were the same person. So Danny remained silent and let the rumors grow. Sure people now thought he and Phantom were dating but that was fiiiiiinnnneee. (But BOY was that an awkward conversation with his parents).
And then Kon was born.
As a clone, all he knew from the outside was implanted into his mind. He knew the color of the sky, the sound of music, academic equations and a lot of common knowledge such as soulmates. He knew that injuries were shared between a bonded pair and that everyone had a soulmate. But he was different. He wasn't born a baby and grew up alongside another person. He wasn’t even real according to some people. Yet one day, he noticed bruises lining his arms, he was confused. He should have had impenetrable skin like Superman. As far as he could remember, his skin had never been pierced before. And it’s not like he fought a godlike being that day. He shouldn’t have any injuries. Kon decided to ignore them but the injuries kept showing up. It got so bad that his team started to notice and sat him down asking if everything was alright with his powers or if he was exposed to kryptonite somehow. So, very confused, Kon had explained that the injuries just kept showing up. It was only after his team gave him a curious look and explained the concepts of soulmates did everything click with him. Sure, Kon knew about soulmates but surely that couldn't be what this was! He was a clone! He shouldn’t have a soulmate. It was impossible! But after a few more days of observation and a bit of testing, everyone determined that this was, in fact, a soulmate bond.
To say Kon was ecstatic was an understatement. Actually, it was a mix of excitement, nervousness, worry, and joy all rolled into one. He was elated at the idea that he had someone meant for him. Someone who would accept all of him. Kon had looked at the others and there had always been a slight jealousy when he saw a paper cut bloom on their fingers or see them rub a bruised knee fondly.
But more than anything. He was happy because this was proof that he was real. Afterall, a soulmate wouldn’t match with him unless his soul was equal to theirs. His body almost melted with relief at that realization. A weight off his shoulders he never fully grasped was still there.
Of course there was the worry of why exactly his soulmate had so many injuries. For a hero, it was obvious they would get injured (although they tried to have as much protective padding as possible to limit that possibility. But some injuries still got through.) Yet the amount of injuries Kon’s soulmate sustained were far more than that (because Danny lacked proper padding  and didn’t think he had to worry about a soulmate. Most injuries looked worse than they were anyways due to his fast healing). And on the contrary, Kon’s skin was perfectly clear. With his kryptonian biology, even if he got hurt, it never left a mark. So all the injuries and bruises sustained on him were purely from his soulmate. And there was enough for two people. On the bright side, it helped with his cover, on the downside, Kon started to worry about his soulmate. (Meanwhile, Danny didn’t notice a difference. Sure, sometimes he would feel a temporary ache or sharp pain but no mark was left so he just assumed the pain was sore muscles from a previous battle or that one of his rogues were hitting harder than he thought.)
As for Kon, he and his team used every resource at their disposal to try and track down Kon’s soulmate. They did this for every member of the team as hero soulmates were in more danger than most but they paid special attention to Kon’s soulmate due to the rapid accumulation of injuries.
Kon would fantasize on what his soulmate would be like. Would they be tall? Short? They would probably be able to fight. Boy or girl? It doesn't really matter. Kon knew opposite gender soulmates were more common but he wouldn’t mind a guy either. His days were filled with dreams of a mystery person. Someone he could hold in his arms and protect. Who would comfort him after patrols and who he could introduce to his friends.
After a while, Tim finally found a lead. Some doctor records of a boy in a small town called Amity. Apparently he was prescribed pain medicine to help with ‘soulmate injuries’. The lost of injuries were extensive and after looking at some pictures, they realized that his scars and Kon’s scars lined up. A perfect match. So it wasn’t long before they made a quick road trip to Amity.
This place was already on the Justice League radar. It was a town that appears to have a permanent portal to the afterlife and was attacked often. (Which might explain why Kon’s soulmate was so injured). The Justice League had not interfered yet because the town had a local hero as well. Someone who seemed good at his job and who Tim was even thinking of recruiting. So this was a good opportunity to hit two birds with one stone. Afterall, not much was known about this mysterious Phantom other than he dedicated his afterlife to protecting this one town. Once they got to Amity they would probably need to check in with Phantom before anything. And despite his impatience with finding the person who might be his soulmate, even Kon was excited to meet this hero. Apparently Phantom had vast experience but also a major power set. He might gain another flying buddy or someone he could wrestle with without worrying about his strength. Afterall, Phantom also supposedly had super strength and even if he didn’t, it’s not like you can kill a ghost. Yet no matter how hard they looked, they couldn’t find him. It was only by coincidence that they stumbled upon Danny instead and his group of friends.
The first time Kon saw Danny, it was like coming home. He wanted to do nothing more than rush to his soulmate and hug him and vow to always keep him safe. He wanted to prove that he would be the best soulmate ever and he wanted to know everything there was to know about him. He was practically vibrating where he stood in his civilian disguise and it was only his friends that held him back from flying over and surprising the poor boy.
But before he could do anything, a ghost attacked. Kon barely had enough time to grab his friends and dodge when some kind of glowing creature crashed into a building. And while normally he would immediately find somewhere to change, Kon’s first instinct was to check on his soulmate, only to see the two people he assumed to be the boy’s friends but no sign of Danny. Frantically looking around, he didn’t notice the glowing creature behind him (was that a dragon?) but before it could reach him, another glowing figure intercepted the attack. They looked almost ethereal with white hair softly floating in the air and a suit that hugged his muscled form tightly. The figure turned around and gave a sheepish smile towards Kon. “You ok?”
And it felt like for the second time that day, Kon was rendered breathless.
Someone was protecting him.
Someone was protecting him?
Yet it felt…nice. Warm.
Before Kon could gather his thoughts though the battle picked up in earnest. He and his team found cover and changed into their suits. When they came to help, the person Kon assumed to be Phantom looked surprised at their sudden appearance but it wasn’t long before he and everyone else started working together. Unfortunately, actually fighting the ghost seemed to be impossible. Whenever they got close, their hits just passed right through so Phantom quickly regulated them on defense and citizen protection duty. Occasionally getting a hit in when the creature was tangible. Watching Phantom fight was something. Kon could understand why he was elected to join their team. He had this sort of grace and power that couldn’t be explained in words but was clearly from the experience of many battles.
Despite not being able to do much, fighting with Phantom was fun. They seemed to be completely in sync and it wasn’t long before Kon started to enjoy his loud commentary and puns as the two ghosts fought.
However, one particularly hard hit made it so that the dragon’s claws grazed his chest. Leaving three shallow gashes, but Phantom took the close proximity that attack gave him and sucked the creature into…a soup thermos?
But Kon wasn’t focused on that. He was wholly focused on the stinging pain suddenly coming from his chest, underneath his untouched uniform that clearly had not been hit. Kon didn’t know how to process what was happening. Everything suddenly became louder and he vaguely tried to move but it was like his mind became mush as he tried to process what that meant. He managed to get away for a bit and undid his shit, looking down to see three shallow scratches along his chest. Scratches that perfectly mirrored Phantom. In the corner of his eye, Kon saw a head of black hair and witnessed as Danny reunited with his two friends he had been separated from in the chaos. And as Danny twisted to hug them, his shirt flipped up enough to see another identical 3 scratches along the boy's stomach. Perfectly mirroring Phantoms.
It was only later that Kon and his team did some more research on the town and it’s ghosts and learned the unofficial secret that Phantom and Danny were dating. That Phantom had Likely come back from the afterlife to protect the town his soulmate lived in. On the bright side, at least now he could confirm Danny really was his soulmate. And he knew where all those injuries were coming from.
Kon had found his soulmate.
Correction, he found his soumates
And they were already bonded to each other.
….so where did that leave him?
There are now two options.
1: Kon decided that he just needs to woo both his soulmates and starts doing so both as Superboy and as Conner. Danny is very confused who these people are (because as far as he knows, he doesn’t have a soulmate, and since Kon doesn’t visibly show injury, there is no sign (unless Danny somehow injures himself in a place that is visible but he’s been trying to avoid that to make everyone worry less.)). Kon goes all out. He gets flowers, chocolates, writes poetry (whether good or not doesn’t matter) starts wooing Phantom in hero form, showing off his strength and skill whenever possible. (And unfortunately, also his dork side when he isn’t paying attention while flying) Asking to hang out, insist on paying for everything. Danny sees this tall Hunk who is paying attention to him and he doesn’t know what to do. And there are TWO OF THEM! (Also, in this version it might be funny if people suspect Danny and Phantom are dating but don’t know for sure and since they are never around each other, people might assume they just don’t know. So Sam, Tucker, and Jazz are all for Danny possibly starting a relationship with Kon along with Kon’s team who are cheering them on and trying to help the poor clone boy who has no experience with romance. Meanwhile literally everyone else in the town who likes Phantom is trying to run interference and get Danny and their hero together.
2: The angst option. Kon decides that the fact that he has two soulmates who are together is likely a result of him being a clone. It’s not that he had someone waiting for him (how could he think someone was waiting their whole life just for him? How stupid was he?!) Kon had just hijacked a different bond. So he tries to stay away. Unfortunately, Tim had talked with Phantom while Kon was out of it so now they have started to team up. This makes avoiding him very difficult as he keeps running into Phantom. Moreover, he runs into Danny because they need him for the ghost hunting equipment. And slowly but surely, Kon falls in love with ‘both’ his soulmates but doesn’t want to get ‘between’ them. And Danny wants to know why one of his new teammates is avoiding him.
#Dpxdc#dcxdp#Kizzer55555 ideas#Super dead soulmates au#Danny x Kon#Danny x Conner#Kon is having an identity crisis and Danny helps but then makes it worse.#At one point Danny might figure out clones and decide to have ‘Phantom’ and ‘Danny’ in the same place. Kon sees this and almost combusts.#Kon’s team are the ultimate wingman’s/wingwoman.#Tim is deep diving into research and planning dates. He has a board covered with red string on how to make this work.#It’s scaring some people.#I don’t know if this is young Justice or teen titans so I was vague while writing it. Choose whichever team you like best!#All I know is that this is the version of Kon with all of Superman’s powers. I want him and Danny to have flying races.#Danny is oblivious.#Kon is in permanent gay panic mode.#Kon gets super protective of both Danny and Phantom.#At some point Phantom comes into contact with blood blossoms so that’s going to be fun. :)#The reason They talk to Danny is because he’s Phantom’s ‘supplier’ for Ghost hunting equipment.#Secret third option: they find Phantom first and bring him to the team and Kon thinks he’s his soulmate after seeing matching injuries and#gets closer to him as a friend but doesn’t know how to breach the subject. Then they go to a ‘supplier’ for Ghost equipment that Phantom#Trusts and meet Danny. And then something happens where they see how ‘Danny’ and ‘Phantom’ are ‘soulmates’.#Then you can deviate to the angst version or wooing version.

A broken tether, A new path forged.
For: @q-gorgeous @tourettesdog @kawaiijohn @lovelyunknown @modordracena
Summary: Jack and Maddie discover their mistakes regarding their son and need to make it right. Also on AO3: A broken tether, A new path forged.
Danny sneezed. He didn't know why; it was mid-spring. So, must it be allergies? But was it, though? He shrugged it off. He was glad to be enjoying his time with Sam and Tuck. Ghost sightings had been at an all-time low. Zero. Even the lower ghostly fauna, like blobs and spites, have been strangely absent. He knows he should be worried, but it's honestly pretty nice. This afternoon was in the low seventies. He kicked a rock down the road. He, Sam and Tucker were on the way from the local bowling alley.
Danny tuned back into their light-hearted conversation. His friends were laughing at a joke he’d missed. But he chuckled as well, not wanting to be left out. Sam smiled.
“I don’t get it, Danny. How is your aim with a bowling ball soo baaad.” Tuck teased. He scoffed, but Tucker continued, “I mean, you have perfectly good aim as Phantom. How does a bowling ball change things?” Danny kicked the rock with a little more force down the road. Danny shot Him an incredulous stare.
“You’re one to talk. Mister gutter balls. At least my rolls actually hit some pins.” Danny teased in turn. “And I have to pull my throws. It’s hard to gauge sometimes.” He grumbled under his breath. Tucker conceded, then turned to Sam, who was smirking at their exchange.
“Why are you so good at like every sport ever!” Tucker whined. Sam closed the distance. Sam laughed.
“You could be too, if you too if you didn’t have this aversion to touching grass.” Her tone was pretty condescending. Danny shoved his hands in his pockets.
He turned to them and cut in. “If you could be one of my rouge galleries for a day, who would it be and why?” Danny had succeeded because his friends’ argument ceased as they both contemplated.
“Technus, the way can manipulate tech is sick. It’s honestly wasted on him, with how he uses flawed software. His hardware is top-notch.” Tuck pumps his arm for emphasis.
“Hey, how do you think Technus could actually build or design hardware without possessing some base machine first? Like building something from scratch?”  Danny thinks he’s only seen the tech ghost possess and modify. Was it just an innate thing? Or actual understanding?
Danny’s thoughts were cut off when he was hit with a strong sense of wrongness. He felt phantom hands brush along his limbs. Someone was touching him.
His tether.
They were moving him.
Defiling him.
Sam grabbed Danny’s shoulder. He barely felt it. His breaths were coming in greedy gulps now.
“Danny, what’s wrong?”
“So- Some-one’s found it. I need- ” Danny trailed off in heavy gasps. He broke out of Sam’s grasp.  Danny stumbled down the sidewalk a few paces. Then he remember it he could shift.
He did, and God, it was soo much worse. Everywhere! It was fucking everywhere! He could feel it with his whole being. Their fucking hands! They were rubbing something all over him. It was also appearing on his skin, red and sticky.
It fucking burned!
He shot off in the direction his core was urging him to go with increasing franticness.
Earlier that day at Fenton Works.
Maddie was finishing folding and putting away clothes. She and Jack’s latest efforts to keep ghosts out of Amity had been working. They had been planting Sanguinem Germinabunt, more commonly knowns as Blood Blossoms. More so around their house because it housed the portal, and other places the ghosts most frequented.
Maddie wasn’t stupid she knew their anti-ecto blast doors weren’t perfect. No matter what changes they made, ghosts always slipped through. Though the blossoms seem to be the most effective method so far. They had seen neither hides nor hairs of any ghost, especially that dratted Phantom.
She put more socks in his drawer. Danny had been short of breath and sneezing quite a lot. She should book an appointment. That’s when she saw a small composition notebook, well worn. It looked like a diary of sorts. Curious, flipped it open. She immediately felt guilty and closed it again. But, this might give her a glimpse at what’s been wrong with Danny.
They’d been so close. It was only about 18 months that the changes presented themselves. No, she needed to do this! She flipped it open.
And started reading.
Maddie sat on the edge of her late son’s bed, shell-shocked.
That’s how her husband, Jack found her. He asked what’s her what was the matter, and she wordlessly handed him the notebook. He took it from her and began reading.  He sat down next to her.
A tear rolled down Jack’s cheek. He hugged Maddie for comfort. Maddie broke down and cried in his shoulder.
They sat like that for a while. The silence was thick in the air.
Jack gently uncoupled from Maddie. He stood up. “Madds, we gotta make this right.” Maddie looked up at him, her face completely desolate.
“Too little too late, Jack.” Maddie’s voice was strained with the effort of holding off more ugly sobs.
Jack left her to retrieve something from the storage room just down the hall. She guessed this based on the rustling.
Her husband soon returned with one of his ancestors, much like the one detailing blood blossom use and cultivation.
Jack quickly started flipping to an entry he obviously remembers from a prior reading.
How to set a ghost free. A permanent exorcism. They knew the rough location. Now they just need to prepare.
Maddie would give her boy a proper send-off.
“It should be right around here,” Maddie grunted as she hacked through the foliage. They had to abandon the GAV to continue on foot. This neck of the woods was too tight for it. Jack was carrying most of the supplies they’d need.
They finally got to the edge of a clearing. It was just like the journal description. There at the other end, was the large oak tree. At the base was a large patch of grave bloom hugging its shade. A flower that only grows near corpses as they emit ecto-radiation as the body breaks down.
It was still an abnormally large patch. More akin to a mass grave than the single one they know is there.
“Jack fluid, I think we found it.” Jack unhooked the canister of fluid and began dousing the patch. It was a concoction that leached ectoplasm from the grave blooms and the ground purifying the area. The delicate blooms quickly wilted and blackened. That was the first step.
Once the ectoplasm had been thoroughly cleaned, it was time to start digging. It didn’t take long. Maddie saw the melted glove first. She chokes at the sight and backs up into who catches her as her knees give out.
“I guess I was holding out some hope. But seeing it now…” She breaks down in a fit of sobs again. Jack sets them both and gives Maddie a few minutes.
“Come on, we need to finish this.” He helps her up to her feet.
Soon they unearth the rest of him.
The body was very well preserved despite the damage from the cause of death. Most of the skin was charred black. There were green Lichtenberg figures all over the corpse, even after all this time, still positively radiating ecto energy, looking recent. It explained that large patch of grave blooms.
They set him down and prepare the paste. It was a special blood blossom mixture, highly flammable. They soon coated the body with the blood blossom paste. It was meant to weaken the ghost’s foothold over the corpse.
Now it was time for the final step.
That’s when they feel static and cold. Phantom arrived. Their son’s remnant. But he was wrong. His eyes were solid green. His skin and suit were fracturing. He was covered in the paste as well, a red vapour wafting off of him.
“What the fuck did you do to my body?!” The scream was layered with shifting, creaking, groaning, and shattering ice.
A tear rolled down Maddie’s cheek as she dropped the lit match.
Danny saw as the match landed on his corpse. He could do nothing as it ignited. It burned hot with a blue flame. He felt his outer shell fracture further before mimicking his body by erupting into a ghostly green fire.
He was too weak to fly, let alone walk, so he crawled. He needed… need to get… to get to his body.
He crawled at an agonizingly slow pace. He didn’t know why.
Danny couldn’t move. He had too little energy. Even just simply existing now was taxing.
Crack
He whimpered and keened it was all too much. His mom walked over and gather him up in her lap. He renewed weakened struggles trying to get away, back to his body. He needed… needed-
Dark started to encroach on the edges of his vision. He felt his mom cart her finger through his hair like when he was small. It was comforting. But there was something he needed to do, right? He thinks it was important. Why had he been so angry before?
He was scared, confused, and in so much pain. Why was Mom’s smile so soft? His Dad sat beside him, squeezing his hand.
The pain was fading. He was pretty sure that was probably a bad thing.
“It’s all right, Danny-boy. Now you can find peace now.” His Dad’s voice was unnaturally quiet, it carried a soft, sombre quality to it.
“We’re so sorry we hadn’t noticed the extent of your suffering sooner.” Mom choked on the start of more sobs. “Oh God, we did this to you! Our invention did this!”
Dad wrapped his arm around Mom, holding her and Danny closer to himself. He didn’t understand. What was going on?
“But we’re making it right now.” Danny tried to ask what was happening, but his voice was too weak, and they couldn’t pick up what he said.
Mom shushed him, “It will be all over soon.” It clicked into place slower than he wanted, the thick brain fog nearly stopping his thoughts.
He was dying.
For real this time.
Crack
His vision faded, but he could still hear and feel his parents. This was not what he expected when they found out. At least this was a mostly peaceful end. He was not fading on an exam table. He saw no hatred in their eyes before his vision left him. They loved him. He smiled.
Crack
Another crack filled with love.
There was an odd tingling warmth that was comfy. But it was fading like the rest of his senses. Danny was really tired. Maybe, he’d take a nice nap. Yeah, one of those sounded nice.
Danny’s core soon couldn’t support the ectoplasmic matrix it was housed in. Danny was losing the feeling of his parents, but he knew they were still there. It started with his fingers and toes working up to his wrists and ankles. It accelerated once it passed his elbows and knees. Soon he was nothing but his core, tiny and fragile.
Then there was the final crack, and with it, the tether snapped.
The elder Fenton’s sat and held each other. They had done it. Their boy was now at peace. The clearing was mostly intact, sans the scorched and overturned soil.
Maddie had taken it upon herself to plant more blood blossoms to leach any remaining ectoplasm from the soil.
They gathered Danny’s ashes and the dust of his crystallized matrix, placing it in a nice urn they’d gotten on the way here. Black with silver etching. Simple and elegant. The two parents left the former grave site of their son with no fanfare.
They had to get their story straight. There were funeral arrangements to be set. Now Danny would get the funeral he deserved. No longer a tortured soul left to linger. He was at peace at least they could give him this final kindness.
He groans, he tried to hang on to the last dregs of unconsciousness. But it’s futile. He cracks one eye open. All he was met with were green swirls and floating purple doors.
Where was this? Who was he? He hyperventilated. What was his name?! He didn’t know own his name!
“Your name is Janus.” Janus? whirled around. There was a strange new blue-skinned ghost in purple hooded purple robes.
“That’s my name? I know you?” Janus (?) took a hesitant step toward the ghost. The ghost nodded.
“Yes, quite. I am Clockwork, Elder Spirit of time. And you, young Janus, are my charge, the current Spirit of Space. You and I will be working together for the foreseeable future.” They smiled warmly, and it was familiar. Janus approached Clockwork less apprehensive. Now that he had a name for both the ghost and for himself.
Janus felt it in his core, it told him the ghost was honest. This ghost was family, his parent.
He winced.
“Why does my core hurt so much?” Janus rubbed at his sternum.
Clockworks hummed, “A tether violently shredded, a core shattered. It left its mark, leaving you as you are now. Fractured, a blank slate.” Clockwork held out their hand. “You need rest, then you must train. Come.”
Janus frowned as Clockwork didn’t elaborate. He took Clockwork’s hand anyway. Janus felt something slot into place in his core.
His body shifted and changed, endless boneless limbs spouted and sinking. Heads countless with everchanging features rolled in and out of the galaxies dancing across his inky skin. Countless eyes blinked all around his form, swimming soothingly along the constantly altering maws along his skin.
Janus felt the loving ticks of his father ripple through his liquid from the contact.
He was beautiful, perfect.
Right.
He trusted and loved Clockwork with everything he was. What came before didn’t matter. All that mattered was the path he and his father forged forward.

tbh the phantom piper is like. the epitome of how much some audios could benefit from directly acknowledging 6b rather than siphoning the plot off into 'two and jamie are travelling alone but we're not going to address it/we're going to throw in a mention to victoria being at graphology lessons so it's feasibly s5'
but if you think about it. the actual implanting of the shard into jamie's brain is quietly treated as quite horrifying?? the story makes a point of the fact that they needed 'two security guards and a sedative' to subdue him for the operation. he clearly didn't want this. and yet two's able to talk his way out of getting one himself. which begs the question of why two let jamie go through the process, and only spared himself. either you assume that two has deliberately enabled jamie to be implanted with the shard so he can study it (which is horrifying in and of itself, and if the author genuinely wanted to set the story in series 5, really begs for a callback to evil of the daleks and their newly rebuilt trust - but the story doesn't explore this avenue at all), or. two just let jamie have the operation for fun I guess. there's no explanation.
whereas if this was directly acknowledged as a 6b story. there's so much more scope there. jamie's already had his memory wiped once, so automatically the implications around the shard deleting memories feel way more personal. surely that's something that would strike home for him (rather than being quite chill and unconcerned about the whole thing for a lot of the narrative, as he is in the story, without a huge amount of attention paid to that being quite ooc). but then in terms of two's motivations, if he'd been sent by the cia to investigate the implants, and he actually had been forced to allow jamie to undergo the operation - that's potentially super interesting!! possibly for the first time they're each finding out first-hand just how risky working for the time lords could be for jamie!! the audio's themes of memory and consent just work /so well/ for 6b - and it can't play with that at all, because it doesn't fully acknowledge 6b itself.

Day 12: Time Travel
“Sooooo Phantom, do ya have any siblings?” Kid Flash asked as he tried to make small talk with the newest recruit to the team.
A few days ago, Young Justice was called to a meeting by Batman where he introduced their new team mate, Phantom. Phantom was a tough looking dude, he was jacked and towered over them all, even Conner!
Batman didn’t give them much information about the guy but apparently John Constentine was the one who suggested him for the team since he needed “community service hours”.
The dude was currently drinking some soda next to the computer as Red Robin searched for any new info on their latest mission. He turned his attention away from the can, and stared at Wally, his red eyes piercing into his soul.
“Why?”
“Well we are all about to go on a mission together and none of us really know you so I think it’d be best if we all got to know you better,” that was half true. Mostly Wally was just being nosey, but the dude really did make everyone nervous since he was this really tough dude with blood red eyes and apparently was here because John Constentine said he needed community service hours???? Constentine typically say some wild shit, but what the fuck do you mean by community service? Wally knows you can’t use those for school, he’s tried, and what else gave you community service? Juvie and prison!!
Phantom stared at him hard for a few seconds, his eyes searing into the back of Wally’s skull before saying, “Okay fine”.
The answer surprised everyone in the room, I mean the guy had barely even spoken the last few days and had rejected every question about his personal life.
“Depending on how you see it, I have 2 to 4 siblings”
“Is your father a serial adopter too?” Tim joked.
“Yes and no”
“Huh?”
“It’s pretty complicated,” Phantom shrugged, seemingly deciding to end the conversation there and taking another swig of his drink.
However, Tim, out of annoyances of every attempt to get to know this jerk being thwarted and a bit of confidence his family was more complicated, decided to challenge Phantom’s statement.
“Ehh, it probably isn’t as complicated as my family, we got about 50 more siblings adopted each month, all with lots much trauma”
At this, Phantom narrowed his eyes at Tim.
“I see what your doing, your trying to get me to talk tell you guy more about my family by acting like yours are more insane”
“Am I?” Tim asked, trying to hide the shivers going down his spine from the way Phantom was staring at him.
Phantom to a huge swig of his soda, emptying it and throwing it into the garbage, before fully turning to Tim.
“You’re lucky I am always good for competitions, now sit down this is going to take a bit”
Tim gladly obliged and soon everyone sat around Phantom as if it were storytime in kindergarten.
“Okay, so at first I only had an older sister and my parents” Phantom began, “but then they died because of a mistake I made and I had to move in with my evil godfather”
Megan raised her hand and asked, “Isn’t a godfather someone who is very close to the family? Why would your parents choose an evil person?”
“‘Cause my dad was oblivious to this and though they were good friends even though the dudes tried to kill him multiple times”
“I see,” Megan lowered her hand, no less confused.
“There I went mad with grief and had him remove my humanity and tried to kill all of humanity”
“I think that was a bit of an overreaction,” Wally joked.
“You tried to kill all of humanity? Why weren’t we told of this when it happened?” Kaldur'ahm asked.
“That was in a different timeline, I was a big enough problem that they gods tried to kill the younger version of me to stop me, so to avoid dying, my younger version decide to try to defeat me and the only reason he did was cause I was underestimating him,” Phantom emphasized the last part because he had to stress he didn’t not lose to a 15 year old boy because he was weaker than him.
“What happened next?,” Artemis asked, completely inraptured in the story.
“I was then imprisoned for sometime before escaping, causing problems and then realizing that causing younger mean the same pain I experienced won't bring my loved ones back,” Phantom continued to explain, “so I am now going to therapy, doing community service, and got the majority of my powers taken away”.
“Is your therapist open to seeing new patients?” Konner asked.
“No, but this timelines version of my sister is and she has a lot of experience so I can give you her number instead”
“Sure, that’ll work”
“Okay,” Phantom said before writing her number down and handing it to Konner, “The thing is I can’t go back to living with my real parents because they don’t know that I am Phantom so I have to go back to living this timelines version of my godfather”
“You gotta be kidding me” Tim groans.
“Exactly what I said!!” Phantom put his arm up defensively, “Fortunately, this version is a little better, he is no longer tiring to kill my dad and has stopped chasing after my mom, he did clone the other of me and now there is a genderbent version of him but my godfather treats her like a princess and will not stop spoiling her, which I am also guilty of”
Phantoms continues to explain more and in the back of Tim's mind he remembers he was supposed to be doing something but honestly this conversation was too good to care.
“Anyways that's how I technically have 2 to 4 siblings, Jazz and Elle are permanently my sisters and I love them so much, and even though the other Jazz is technically the same as this Jazz, I still think of her as someone else, someone I miss dearly. Also if I considered this Jazz my sister, I guess I’d have to considered the other me as my brother”
“Damn bitch your family is crazy” Wally said, happy he finally managed to get through Phantom’s tough skin.
As they finished up their storytime, the Zeta-tubes activated and Red Tornado and an upset looking Batman walked to the group.
“You all were supposed to leave thirty minutes ago”

Phantom Rogues (Prequel)

“Would yOU PEOPLE JUST LISTEN!”
Danny’s exasperated anger was punctuated by a sharp ecto shotgun blast into the nearest tank the GIW had amassed. They were still trying to destroy the Infinite Realms, new agents having convinced the older ones that the Infinite Realms being connected to their realm was a hoax to keep them from following through. Jazz, Sam, and Tucker were all barricaded behind what remained of their equipment, so it was only Danny and Danielle who remained amidst this reality ripped in between the two realms that GIW’s stupid equipment had created. Yet once again Danny wasn’t able to continue his attack, getting cut off by a mostly startled scream from Danielle as they once again focused their fire on her. First it had been the humans of the team, now it was Danielle, and it was really starting to piss Danny off.
“Stop targeting her you sick bastards! She’s fourteen!” Danny belted, flying yet again between their weapons and Danielle, and blasting the cannon with a prolonged stream of ectoplasm to bend its course. They would soon shift it back to pointing at them, but at least that took a few seconds.
“So you claim. Yet the only thing it means for us is that she’s a liability for you. You’re the stronger one, but you’ll let your guard down for her. A pathetic imitation of humanity that may have won over the Fentons, but not us. We know you’re nothing but an imitation of humans made by nothing more than destructive residue.” That was Operative N, the new blood that had worked up the ranks. Danny liked to call him Nimrod.
“We’re not faking it!” Danny shouted back, feeling his voice crack with the desperate protest. “SOME ghosts are residue, but others are just as sentient and full of good emotions as humans are.” If only he could turn this stupid human into a ghost so he could see it too. But life, even stupid life, was too precious to waste just to prove a point.
“....Test run the experiment,” Operative N directed, unfazed by Danny’s outburst. The Operative next to him stepped forward as others to the sides of them started firing a barrage of ectoblasts their way. It was a distraction to keep their attention, Danny knew that. But Danielle still wasn’t as good as he was, and he didn’t miss the way the experimental blaster pulsed red instead of green. He couldn’t let Danielle get hit by that, so when she let out another yelped scream, getting hit by three ectoblasts, Danny flung himself into her when the other Operative took that as an opening.
The experimental blaster was faster than the originals, and Danny didn’t have time to bring up a shield after body slamming Danielle away. He could only tense in preparation for the damage, knowing he could handle more than Danielle could when it came to a beating.
He wasn’t ready for this.
The bloody red blast of energy wasn’t ectoplasm, and when it slammed into Danny’s chest his voice ripped from him in a startled scream of agony as he realized what they had done. The barbed wire poison splitting his ghostly skin held a familiar scorching dry flame feeling that he’d only experienced once before, a hand flying to his ribs as he crashed to the ground and couldn’t help curling into a ball, deaf to his friends’ and family’s cries for him.
Those freaks had weaponized blood blossoms.
It was worse than being trapped in a barrier of them, the poison now sank into his flesh instead of caressing it with noxious fumes. The fight wasn’t over though, so he willed his twitching limbs to work as he wanted them to, shoving them underneath himself to push himself upright, never mind the green blood dripping from his side.
“There we go,” Operative N commented emotionlessly, motioning with his hand to another Operative. “Use him now.”
That was the only warning Danny had before a clamp half his size snapped down on top of him, binding him in its case and pulling him from the broken ground. Danny let out a strangled noise as his arm was smashed against his injured ribs, legs scrambling to try and remain connected to the soil and feeling the anti ghost barrier keeping him trapped in the prickly bindings. It was only when he heard a slight click, and the fat needles poking into his skin started ripping energy from him that he vaguely remembered something about them using him as a battery for their machine. They obviously didn’t care how it treated him either, for Danny could swear getting electrocuted hurt less.
“Scream all you want, Phantom. Not even you could break out of there now that we’ve worn you down,” Operative N commented, having the audacity to sound bored.
Danny barely registered Danielle repeatedly sinking what power she could into the clamp that had a hold of him, but it didn’t seem effective. He hadn’t wanted to resort to blowing everything up, not sure what the machines would do to the realms they were connected to if they burst from overload.
But at this point he didn’t see any other option. If the realms were going to blow up, then he’d rather they blow up because he tried to save them.
If you want to hear me scream, then I’ll scream.
Danny’s defiant thought was accompanied by him forcing his mouth to snap shut, struggling with half stifled gasps to fill his lungs with as much air as they could hold. It took a minute too long, but as soon as he maxed out the air he could hold Danny forced it out again in a drawn out wail.
Jazz had expressed before that she hated hearing Danny’s ghostly wail. She’d even commented that the name itself seemed like a pathetic attempt to calm the fears of children when stories were told about it. As Danny’s abilities had advanced the wail became less of a B movie imitation of ghosts and more of a source of nightmares. A distorted sound of burst eardrum silence smothered by shrieking similar to subtle tinnitus, but with the undertone of the voices of those who had died screaming.
Jazz always heard her brother’s voice over the others.
This was the first time Danny had fully figured out how to make his wail non directional. An orb of earth shattering sound rippling in waves from his form, crushing the machines around them like sealed cans dropped in liquid nitrogen. The only reason his allies weren’t hurt was because the waves were strangely more gentle in their direction, just enough that Danielle could hold a barrier over them while they pressed their palms to their ears, collapsing to their knees.
The wailing only lasted slightly less than two minutes, but the chain reaction explosions continued for several more. As soon as the device holding him was broken Danny let out a ripple of ectoplasm to shatter it. Then soft coils snapped out and wrapped around his allies, dragging them closer to his floating form where he could raise a shield around all of them.
Sam took charge of shielding Tucker and Danielle with her own body as realm rending explosions thrashed their tiny bubble to and fro. Danny was able to keep them from being thrown against the sides of the barrier, but none of them could even attempt to stand with all the vibrations of varying intensities. Jazz stole as long of a look at Danny as she could since she couldn’t do anything else, feeling her heart skip a beat when she saw the hole punched into the left side of his chest, blast marks searing out from it to cover his shoulder and nick his cheek. All of the wounds were oozing the green blood Danny had as Phantom, but he didn’t seem to be paying them any mind.
Another sharp, shuddering jerk signaled the end of their whirlwind ride, and suddenly the group had perfectly still, solid ground under them and silence ringing in their ears. It was deafening, in a good way compared to the wail from before, and Jazz heard the others mimic her shuddering breaths. But before she could visually check on her brother she heard him fall. Nothing like the exhausted drops he did when he couldn’t quite make it to the ground before letting gravity take hold of him again. It was the heavy crumple of a human body being dumped. And as Jazz snapped her head up Danny’s face fell into her view, his eyes closed and figure completely limp. Jazz watched his cheeks drain from color as a new spot of red bloomed across his white shirt, and her voice refused to speak.
Scrambling to her baby brother, Jazz cupped a hand to his cheek, horrified at the rapidly dropping temperature of his skin and using her other hand to shake his shoulder as roughly as she dared. Her voice found itself in moments to scream what had been repeating in her head.
“DANNY!”

IIiiii am not immune to brain rot |D If you’re confused, good, I am too
Today my brain chose violence, and gave me some of the details of what led to the DP team getting ported to DC verse. So I wrote them while spamming the same 6 songs X’D And then I drew 2 pictures because I wanted both vibes.
This is getting way more attention that I even guessed might happen * wheeze *, so just a few disclaimers just so people are aware:
the DP crew are 2 years older than in the cartoon. because I can
Jack and Maddie are becoming really good parents. Because I’m tired of the “omg I’m a teenager and my parents suck” trope. They know Danny and Danielle are halfas, and it took them about a year to fully accept that. Now they’re rewriting studies to support sentient ghosts and more humane ways to deal with the violent ones.
It’s only in the recent months that they’ve started to actually study ways to help ghosts/halfas. So a lot of medical stuff for them is still unknown, but Jazz knows a bit more first aid than the average teen.
I’m not going to have romance at all. I find pushing the platonic boundaries way more fun and interesting. If you think it's romance, it's not.
I’m also more interested in Danny and Jazz’s sibling relationship than whatever either of them have going on with Sam and Tucker.
No update schedule. I follow the whims of my not normal brain.
