Shelly x male Team Magma s/o

You may be wondering how two members of opposing teams that absolutely despise one another fell in love.

Well, it’s a long story.

Team Aqua, who are dedicated to their leader’s goal of expanding the sea.

Team Magma, whose ambition is to expand the land mass.

Due to contrasting goals, these teams are bitter enemies with one another, leading to many conflicts between the two.

Shelly and s/o first met during one of these many confrontations between their two teams and engaged battle with each other.

Despite being an Admin while s/o is a mere grunt, Shelly was easily defeated by him, leaving her both flabbergasted and a little impressed, not that she would ever admit it.

“H-how is this possible?! I shouldn’t have lost to a lowly Magma grunt like you!”

“I told you not to underestimate me Aqua Admin. Let your defeat show you that Team Magma is strongest.”

S/o smirks victoriously, making Shelly in leer at him in anger before Team Aqua begrudgingly retreats.

Impressed by his victory over the Aqua Admin, Team Magma’s leader Maxie promotes s/o to Admin.

Since that day, Shelly and s/o formed a rivalry with each other, with Shelly swearing that she’ll crush him in battle the next time they meet.

Unfortunately for her, s/o goes undefeated.

After losing to her enemy for what seems like the millionth time, Shelly falls to her knees and punches the ground in frustration.

“Why?! Why can’t I defeat you?! I don’t deserve to be a part of Team Aqua if I can’t even defeat a Magma lowlife like you!”

Watching her break down, s/o can’t help but feel bad.

“Hey. If it means anything, you are a pretty good trainer, and it’s because of you that I train my pokémon so hard. I always look forward to our battles…Shelly.”

Greatly surprised by his words, Shelly gets up and offers s/o a small smile before turning away with a huff.

“This does not make us friends…but thank you for saying that, I…appreciate it.”

At that moment, the two enemies would begin growing closer, even if they didn’t realize it.

Now whenever their teams would enter another skirmish, s/o and Shelly would of course battle, but not necessarily as enemies.

As time passed, s/o and Shelly grew even fonder of one another, leading to a spark of romantic attraction beginning to emerge, which they both quickly notice.

“No. I can’t be falling in love with her. She’s the enemy! What would Maxie say if he found out I’m getting feelings for a Team Aqua member?!”

“What is wrong with me?! There’s no way that I’m attracted to s/o! He’s from Team Magma! Our enemy! Archie’s enemy! My…enemy.”

Try as they might to fend off their feelings, love is quite persistent.

When next they meet, the awkward tension between them is quite noticeable.

Shelly and s/o are both unfocused and make several mistakes during their battle, somehow resulting in the former’s victory.

“I….I won? I won! After so many defeats I finally managed to beat you s/o!”

Despite losing the battle, s/o feels happy for Shelly.

“Congratulations Shelly, you deserve the win.”

Overwhelmed with happiness, Shelly absentmindedly pulls s/o into a kiss, which he can’t help but sink into.

The reality of what she just did sets in as Shelly quickly pushes s/o away with a reddened face.

“S-sorry! I didn’t mean to do that! I-”

Her embarrassed rambling is silenced by s/o kissing her again, catching her off guard.

“W-what was that for?”

“You kissed me first. Consider us even now.”

“Even?! Oh no, don’t think I’m letting you get away with that! Come here!”

She pulls him into another kiss, this one causing their feelings for one another to finally let loose.

After pulling away, Shelly and s/o stare into each other’s eyes before fully confessing their feelings.

Luckily for the two, none of their teammates were nearby to hear or see what’s been going on.

“What do we do now Shelly? I love you, and you love me, but we both know our Teams won’t approve of us being together.”

“Then we’ll keep it a secret. Our relationship is our business. Maxie and Archie don’t need to know.”

“Can we really make this work? I mean, I know I love you, but I don’t want either of us to get into trouble.”

“Don’t worry s/o, we’ll take things slow and play it by year. If our team finds out about us, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. I love you s/o, and I can’t fight what my heart wants any longer.”

“Alright then. I love you too Shelly.”

The two embrace and officially begin their secret relationship.

As a couple, s/o and Shelly can’t do a lot of things normal couples do for obvious reasons, but that doesn’t stop them from trying.

Cutesy texts, small gifts, love notes, and fun selfies are constantly being exchanged between the two.

Time together is extremely rare, but when they do manage to get away from their teams, cuddles and kisses are mandatory.

S/o and Shelly put up a facade that they absolutely hate each other when around their teammates as to not raise suspicion.

Luckily for them, it seems to be working.

Their respective leaders do often wonder who it is that their admin is dating, but respect them enough as to not pry into their personal lives.

When Groudon and Kyogre are awakened, s/o and Shelly accidentally kiss in front of their leaders after being relieved that the other is safe, thus letting their secret out.

After explaining everything to Maxie and Archie, the two wait for the incoming scolding.

“Shelly, while I don’t approve of you dating this Magma land lover and hiding it from me, I suppose if you’re happy, I just have to get used to it.”

“I’m quite surprised at you s/o. I never would have expected you to be in a relationship with one of our enemies. However, you are an adult that is aware of his own decisions. Besides, at the moment there are more important matters at hand.”

Once the legendary pokémon are dealt with, both teams realize the error of their ways and vow to work together to make up for their misdeeds, thus giving s/o and Shelly more time to be together.

“I’m happy everything worked out for the better. I love you so much Shelly.”

“I love you too s/o, and whatever our future holds, I know I want you by my side.”

The two share a loving kiss, both happy that their relationship doesn’t have to be hidden from their teams any longer.

Hardenshipping brainrot (fic idea ver)

Going through an emotional crisis (that I refuse to acknowledge in any meaningful way) so have this fic idea that has been in my head for awhile

Hardenshipping fic set 3 years after the events of oras (though, it's actually more like a mix of oras and emerald ver.) Team magma and aqua have decided to work together to fix their mistakes, May became champion and the people of the Hoenn region have started to warm-up to their local ecoterrorists.

May releases Rayquaza so it can roam free (VERY important for the story), May receives help from Wallace bcs she's 14 and definitely needs help to make important champion decisions

Steven kinda decided to travel the world and leave Wallace in charge of May (yes, Wallace and Steven are a couple in this), Wallace is pissed that his fiancee stops updating him on his whereabouts weekly (yes, that becomes important later)

Time for the main event! What's going on with hardenshipping in this au?

Team magma and aqua work together frequently to fix what they have damaged. The magma and aqua admins became besties bcs they were practically forced to hangout more often (they oversee all grunt movements)

Maxie and Archie are pretty professional, they reduce their disagreements to simple bickering and work very well together. Their admins were nervous at first but, then realized that they work really well and seemingly know how to work around their weakness. Maxie and Archie work in a way that feels natural and almost routine, the admins realize that they don't really know how their leaders met.

Meanwhile, Maxie and Archie find themselves falling back into old habits and routines, they obviously don't know how to cope with that (bcs they're emotionally stupid), there's tension in the air whenever they're in the same room, despite working in harmony.

Rayquaza stops appearing at it's meetup spot, people start going missing and attempted raids keep happening. Grunts go missing for days and reappear with no memory of what happened.

a small group of magma and aqua grunts set sail to littleroot town to send a package to May. Two days pass and no word from the group, the situation in Hoenn becomes dire after the ship is found.

Villainous Team Boss's S/o Sneaking a Team Uniform and Wearing It For Them

(being a grunt uniform, the boss's uniform, and their own admin uniform. thanks to @whoisthatcreepoverthere for the original idea!)

☀️Maxie🌋

🪨 Sneaking one of Team Magma's grunt uniforms is harder than one might expect. Maxie prefers everything to be quite organised, so it would be rare that they have extra uniforms around or that a grunt would misplace theirs. However, as Maxie's partner, you had an advantage somehow in sneaking one. The Magma Leader looks up from his laptop on his desk, ready to scold the grunt who just walked into his quarters without scheduling a meeting beforehand or even buzzing themselves in. He then feels bewildered as to why you were wearing that. Did you join Team Magma? Why had Tabitha and Courtney not alerted him? Why did you not tell him yourself? He then realises you managed to sneak one of the few spare uniforms they had around when you started laughing.

🪨 Maxie feels embarrassed for getting so worked up over what was essentially a prank on him. You are asked to please return the uniform, as they need to keep track of their inventory and whatever else. Before you go off to do it, however, he does admire how nice his team's colours look on you… The maroon compliments you nicely, and the knitted fabric looked strangely… cute on you. He has to snap himself out of it because he feels less like he is ogling his lover and more like he is staring at one of his grunts.

🪨 If you manage to steal his somehow, he will be mildly annoyed. He likely only has three – a spare at home, a spare at the hideout, and the one he usually wears. He cycles through them as needed. Today was an “as needed,” and he had headed home quickly to grab the spare since it was closer than the hideout. He could only stare blankly at you, imitating his poses in front of a mirror in his uniform. There was only an ask for you to please return his clothing. He feels more embarrassed than anything about this – especially if his uniform fits you well.

🪨 Maxie would prefer his partner to join Team Magma, actually. So, in his ideal situation, you would have your own Magma Admin uniform. Naturally, he would have to approve any uniform you would design… Though, whether it be cosplay or an actual uniform, he would feel strangely flustered at seeing how it complimented you. Perfectly attuned to whatever you wanted it to focus on, so long as it kept to the red and knit style of Team Magma. Whether you go for shorts or a knitted dress, he appreciates the aesthetics dearly. He is notably more flustered if it was a cosplay, though, since he wishes you were a member of his team so dearly. Maybe now is a time to convince you…

🌧Archie🌊

💧 Getting an Aqua grunt uniform is too easy, honestly. Distressingly easy. Archie's filtering is mostly done by asking random aquatic facts and whether or not you support water pollution. Granted, not everyone did get approved since Shelly proved herself to almost be the brains of the entire operation. No one really questioned why Archie's partner was grabbing one, either. You just took it, put it on, and no one thought anything of it. Even Archie barely thought on it when you entered his quartets, busy tapping away and speaking with Matt and Shelly about who knows what. He popped a look over at you, about to tell what he thought was a grunt to come back later, before gasping.

💧 Archie instead gave a hearty laugh and a thumbs up before continuing his conversation. The Aqua Leader has no complaints or comments. You want to wear a uniform? Well, he trusts your interests align enough with his own that it will not cause any issues for him or his team. Besides, you look cute in the bandana and stripes. He almost wishes to ask you to wear it more, if anything. You look good no matter what, though.

💧 You likely have to sneak his uniform after he changes into something else (rare), so it is difficult to get the chance. Though, when you do, he finds out pretty quick since he probably wants it back. The sight of you in his wetsuit – whether it be horribly ill-fitting or surprisingly worn well – makes him grin. Though, he likely loses his mind a little if it is too big for you and scoops you up to laugh some more. If it fits, he is impressed by your form, however. He approves again, but he really needs it back.

💧 Like his dear red-headed companion, he would adore for his partner to be in Aqua with him, and it would only make sense for them to be an admin. Even if you are not, you are essentially an unofficial member with how you can come and go throughout the Aqua hideout with ease without question. So, he has given some thought to what you would wear as an admin. Granted, it would just be a themed wetsuit, but he loves the thought. So you were making it a reality? He is overjoyed and cheers on the cosplay while assuming this is your subtle way of asking him to join his team. Get ready for endless compliments and praises.

🔥Lysandre🍷

☕️ Getting your hands on a Flare uniform… Now, that was a difficult thing to do. No one was really eager to give up their 5,000,000 dollar uniform to just anyone. Well, except, maybe their boss's lovely partner, who seemed just so curious as to what one would fit like. Needless to say, you managed to get one of the bright red suits for your own. Wearing it, you almost wanted to say the price tag felt reasonable. Until you remembered why Lysandre even made his group in first place. Encountering Lysandre in the outfit had been difficult, as the average grunt was not at all allowed in his office. His café, however, served as a well enough hub.

☕️ Lysandre barely registered it at first, having been more focused on his many projects and getting a cup of coffee than any lonesome grunt. Something about you made him double-take, though. Upon a second glance, he registered your face almost instantly. The Flare Boss struggled to comprehend why you were in a Flare grunt uniform. There was absolutely no way you joined without him knowing. He then is pleasantly surprised by how well you pull off the suit. The bright red compliments you well and seems to bring out an elegant, almost handsome side that deeply respects. That almost makes him forget to question how you got a suit of your own. You do get interrogated, however.

☕️ He is mildly entertained by the sight of you in one of his suits. Naturally, it was not his only one he owned, but he found your attempt to wear some of his clothing rather adorable. Unless you are somehow both his height or build, the suit fits you improperly. Lysandre does debate having you made an outfit like his own since the thought of you in something properly fitting like his uniform almost seemed to suit you well. You are, however, his beloved lover and will be at his side of the helm in his beautiful world. The least bothered by it outside of Archie.

☕️ As for an admin uniform, assuming you go for the generic admin uniforms rather than one of the scientists, he finds himself intrigued by how long it took you to acquire the items to imitate it. He is an active purveyor of fashion, after all. There is also a minor concern about leaking among his group, but he just assumes you found out due to your connection with him. He enjoys the way it looks on you, truly, but he feels there is a certain lure that is missing and almost wants to design you one of your own. Perhaps… It was time he finally started involving you more actively in Team Flare. You opened a door that you can not close with this one.

🕶Guzma💀

□ Getting a Team Skull grunt uniform is easy. They are almost all DIY anyway, and the ones stashed out in the Po Pokemon Center are already selling some in there. You buying one barely raises any eyebrows, too. Boss's partner wants a uniform? Whatever, fine. Even when you pop into Guzma's room, he barely questions what you are doing. It does not even register with him at first until you try to sit on his lap. Then, he is suddenly aware that you have changed clothes.

□ He honestly feels a bit smug, seeing you in the uniform. The Team Skull cap and necklace look nice on you, and he barely cares to question where you got it. They have spares all around, and, once again, most are DIY made. He gets a chuckle out of it and just decides to roll with it. You were already an unofficial member. Why not let you wear a uniform? Besides, seeing you as an “underling” let his mind drift in some fun directions that it would not go for any other grunt.

□ Now, you stealing his uniform is less fun. Especially when he enters to see you sitting on his throne with his sunglasses over your eyes. He does not even want to know how you sneaked his watch without him noticing. He starts off with a laugh, expecting it to be over quickly, but you instead do a bad imitation of him. Guzma is now feeling annoyed about this. You get away with it until a grunt walks into the room and does not even realise that you have replaced Guzma at first. He is destroyed internally.

□ Team Skull's admin outfits… are not really a thing. It really is just your own flair to the general scheme they use, with a Skull necklace and black and white clothing being the only requirement. Or maybe you can match with Plumeria if you want. Either way, your wearing it intrigues Guzma. You are not an official member, no, but you do have some authority around Po town. He likes it a lot. There is almost an urge to ask you to join completely, but he gets you have your reasons. For now, he will enjoy your styling completely.

🚀Giovanni🐈

🟥 Getting a Rocket grunt uniform…. is likely easier than Giovanni would want it to be. They have spares in their hideouts, so sneaking one is not so hard. What proved a challenge was how unknown you are among the grunts and trying to navigate the den to even get a glance at your busy lovers. Too many questions and demands, or getting an order barked at you by some random higher-up. You felt like you were never going to get to Giovanni. Even trying to enter his office got you some looks from his guards, but they seemed to quickly recognise you. A questioning look was given, but the doors were unlocked.

🟥 Giovanni barely knew what to think at some random grunt, interrupting his busy schedule for an impromptu meeting, but before he could put the fear of whatever deity they believed into them, he felt suspicious Sure, he registered just the uniform at first, but when his eyes glanced at your face, he let out a sigh. Just what were you doing? He decided against questioning it and instead took a second glance at you. You really fit perfectly into the black clothing, and he would admit the bright red “R” almost felt like a claim on you. Suddenly, he will let this slide. His mind has gone elsewhere.

🟥 He barely responds to you wearing one of his suits. Yes, haha, very funny or interesting. You are even trying to get his sinister grin down but are not quite there. Giovanni claps but is mostly unimpressed. He instead recalls a time his son did something similar, and you get the feeling that he is calling your actions childish. He once again does find himself quite smug about the “R” logo, though it is quite a bit smaller on his own attire.

🟥 In a hand-crafted admin uniform, he finds himself more impressed with your talents in arranging such a look rather than you dressing up like a knock-off member. You even chose the correct styling uniforms his elite executives wore. Were you wanting a position in his organisation? He certainly hoped not because you were not getting one. Work and romance were entirely divided things for him. Though, you have given him an idea as you turned to show off the uniform. Maybe he should order you around like he did his underlings and give you a taste of the “boss” side of him.

🌌Cyrus🛰

☄️ It probably would not be that hard for them to get a grunt uniform since they most likely do have a bulk around HQ. Just go in, grab one, put it on, and give Cyrus a heart attack when you pop into his office. Saturn would not approve you as hire, he knows for sure. He wants to know where you got that and also to take it off right now because he does not like the idea of him viewing you like one of his grunts.

☄️ The Galactic Leader does hate how it makes his thoughts swirl, though. You do not look bad in it — no, not at all. It appeals entirely to his tastes. He feels so bothered by this. The last thing he wanted was for you to figure out his group's real intentions since he knows even those among his most trusted seemed to struggle with it. You truly do look good in the grey uniform. If he was not so restrained – no, if he did not lack spirit, he would allow his mind to wander more.

☄️ As for getting his, well, if the cat is already out of the bag, he is probably leaving a uniform at home to change into instead of having to wear a suit out instead. Sneak it out and discover how ill-fitting it is on you (or maybe well fitting it is if you match his height and body type). Cyrus is mildly disappointed and confused as to why you are wearing his uniform. You are not trying to join Team Galactic and usurp him, are you? He asks you to take it off again.

☄️ If you style your own commander costume, he presumably walks into your shared home to see you in it. He blinks a few times in confusion. That is certainly not one of the uniforms commissioned by him or a commander. It resembles the general theme well, but he is distressed by how you got that and why you are wearing it. Are you… pledging your support to his new world? He feels like he is left reeling by all this… You just get to watch Cyrus.exe crash before your eyes as he fails to process all this. In the end, you will be asked where you got the outfit and the explanation of wanting to try out a uniform in the style of his team leaves him bewildered and a little disappointed since he had hoped he could have your support.

So, uh, I made this because I felt like it… We have Magma Leader Maxie, Galactic Commander Mercury Maxie, and Post OHtMF Maxie (who I made myself BTW)

Oh yeah, basically all of this is fanart of this awesome Hardenshipping fic:

This Commander Mercury is from before he and his Archie…”reconciled” after months of forced actions and anxiety and stress. And Archie at that time was…let’s say not good, and seeing the man you love not good is dreading.

Trauma fucks you up.

BLOOD IN THE WATER.

A bad ending to High Tides and Heatwaves.

Note: this mini fic contains graphic depictions of violence, major character death and cannibalism so if you don’t enjoy that, please don’t read.

Spoilers for chapter 11 of the fic!

After Maxie had spewed magma at the larger dragon’s gills, he stopped at a second to see Archie bellow in pain. Maxie seemed confident at managing to injure the weredragon greatly.

However, the storm brewing didn’t clear at all, and to Maxie’s shock, he saw as Archie let out a loud rumbling bellow of rage as Maxie tried to take a step back muttering a frightful “A-Archie?!” as the magma leader’s lover turned to him and let out a roar that made Maxie’s ears ring as the draconic leviathan galloped toward his direction with terrifying speed.

Maxie tried to run as fast as he could to island’s deep jungles, but before he could reach one of the trees, he felt a mighty force crash in to him and knocking him off his feet. It was Archie with a furious look he had never seen the team Aqua leader emote.

In a desperate attempt to defend himself, he swung his tail at Archie’s jaws which, at first, worked as one tail swipe connected with the leviathan’s head, but the second time he did used the attack, his tail was grabbed the larger weredragon as Maxie was violently shaken by the tip of his spiked tail. Maxie screamed in both terror and pain as one final swing from Archie not only threw a few inches away from the ocean and tore a part off of red dragon’s tail. Spitting it on the beach and glaring at Maxie like an Luxray at its prey.

Maxie let out a cry of agony and horror seeing the bloodied, torn stump that was once his tail now bleeding profusely as another roar rang out as the last thing Maxie would ever see was his former lover-turned-leviathan charge towards him with rage in the weredragon’s eyes as the larger dragon’s teeth clamped down on the smaller dragon’s torso, and with a single powerful bite, the leviathan’s jaws crushed the body like a viscera-filled water balloon as Maxie let out a final cry of agony that turned to gurgling as his lungs filled with his own blood…

After what seemed like hours, Archie woke from his rage-induced trance with the sharp burning pain on his neck that made him lower his head and touch where it hurt. But before he ever did that, the blue weredragon saw something that caught his attention. The sea had been tainted with crimson. And when he called out to Maxie, he heard no one but the waves and the wind. Then, the aquatic dragon looked down and saw what had happened to Maxie.

What had remained of his lover, Maxie, was now merely a mangled corpse covered in the same crimson that tainted a part of the seas. The leviathan recoiled backed in abject horror as He saw what seemed to be a bite mark on the corpse’s torso and then, he reluctantly placed a claw on his jaws and looked to see

Blood… Maxie’s blood. He was the one to have killed Maxie in a fit of his own blinding rage. HE was the one to have crunched down on Maxie’s torso. HE was the monster that slaughtered his own boyfriend. Archie let out cry of despair at what he done. Cradling the corpse to try and wish that Maxie was still alive. He wished that had he not been so foolish, he wouldn’t have lit that fire. All these thoughts flooded his brain as tears fell down his eyes and onto the lifeless body of Maxie that he still cradled.

However, he felt something within him. Whether it out of desperation or shame, he began to devour his own lover. He tried to gag and vomit but couldn’t as he ripped the gory flesh with his maw swallowed. Bite after bite, he gorged on his own lover until there was nothing but the crimson-tainted sands where Maxie’s mangled body once later upon. Oh gosh, this is such an amazing question!!!

Personally I (Lindar) have so so so many inspirations because I'm a music lover, I'm 37, and I've been playing video games as far back as I can remember.

So first and foremost I have to give a shout-out to Lena Raine because back in like… 2016(?) I was trying to take my studio to a more professional level and invest in some stuff beyond what just comes with any given DAW, so I reached out to her and she was kind enough to answer my dozens of questions and talk shop with me. She is ultimately why Studio Thumpy Puppy has its current sound. I don't know her personally, but she was an absolute sweetie to me, extremely helpful, and y'all know she writes banger after banger track.

Gotta mention Ben Prunty, who is an absolute legend in indie soundtracks.

Met Disasterpeace at Day of the Devs 2016 along with a bunch of other legends in the scene and what an encouraging sweetheart!

Of course I'm a huge fan of Sadie Greyduck who is one of my composers! Go check out her Bandcamp or look for her on streaming services!

Love me some Darren Korb. Honestly like every Supergiant game has been a banger, but it wouldn't be the same without those soundtracks.

So let's also take into account that a lot of the game soundtracks that have inspired me over the years are influenced by things that aren't game soundtracks, because those are a relatively recent invention, so we have to talk about how Plantasia by Mort Garson is a direct inspiration for Ocarina of Time and "Dancing Mad" from FF6 is literally just Tarkus from Emerson, Lake & Palmer. A *lot* of early game composers were just prog nerds who listened to like… ELP, King Crimson, Rush, Yes, Magma, Van Der Graaf Generator, Camel, Caravan, Gentle Giant, Soft Machine, Gong… and then also a lot of more popular 80s rock that I'm not gonna list out…

The history of music is absolutely wild and there's so much inspiration out there it's absolutely baffling. Go listen to stuff you've never heard before, analyze it, understand what the appeal and aesthetic is, listen to the last 100 years of the pop charts and then learn where that music came from and who their influences were… go listen to motown! Listen to bebop and jazz and future funk and central Asian folk music and like… get out there and expand your horizons, because like… there's SO MUCH good music out there.

2. Who’s the one to send the other “I love my gf/bf” memes

Maxie would never do this, and wouldn’t find memes particularly funny either. If one of them were going to send “I love my bf” memes to the other, it would have to be Archie. Even then, he’s not that on top of current social media trends and jokes, so the only way he would really see memes would be if one of the grunts showed them to him. So he doesn’t generally send them to Maxie, and if he did, it would be more to tease him since he knows Maxie wouldn’t appreciate it.

5. How many years did it take to get married or was it just not for them

If you count from the time they first starting dating when they were in Team Rocket together, then it takes roughly 20 years for them to get married. From the time they reconcile after the events of ORAS, they’re married less than a year after they’re back together. They honestly would have been fine never getting married, but once they decide to try for a child, they decide to get married for legal reasons. They don’t have a wedding ceremony and just get a marriage license issued through a court.

7. Are their friends/family supportive

Their friends/teams are mostly supportive, although they’re initially weirded out by it on both sides for varying reasons (although most aren’t that surprised when they really start to think about it). The Team Aqua members are slightly more supportive since they just want Archie to be happy, but most do wonder why he would choose Maxie of all people. Surely there’s someone he’s interested in with a more agreeable personality. Most assume their shared history is the main draw, since the grunts are aware of the fact they were together in some sort of capacity back when they were in Team Rocket together.

As for Team Magma, they’re even more surprised than the Team Aqua members, since the assumption is that Maxie isn’t interested in being involved with anybody in general. More than a few grunts wonder if the rivalry between their two teams was actually some sort of long running lover’s feud, but have enough sense to not voice this in front of Maxie. In that sense, they’re more wary about the idea of them getting together, since they’ve already proven a breakup between the two of them has the potential to get ugly. In an effort to avoid Maxie’s wrath, no one is actually unsupportive though, and as time goes on, everyone is relieved to see that the two do balance each other out, even if they’re still prone to arguing.

As for their families, Archie is the only one that still has some contact with his family, specifically his mother. She’s aware of all of the shared history between the two, so she’s understanding of their relationship and is supportive, although like most, she’s concerned whether they’re relationship will end badly like it did last time. Since she’s been around since the beginning though, she’s not as worried as most since she figures if the two still have feelings for each other after 20 years, they can make a relationship work if they really try for it.

As for Maxie, he cut all ties with his family around the same time he joined Team Rocket. He comes from a wealthy family who has very conservative views on what the role of an omega should be. To escape that, he ended up leaving home the day he was of age and never looked back. If they were to somehow find out about his and Archie’s relationship, they would approve of the fact Maxie was finally settling down with an alpha to have a child, but wouldn’t think that much of Archie in particular, thinking Maxie should have found someone of higher social standing. Archie being a self-made man who managed to build his own organization would be a point in his favor, but the fact he was born to a ‘lower class’ single mother would overshadow a lot of that.

8. How does one comfort the other when the other is in distress/having a panic attack/crying

It’s rare for either of them to get upset to the point where they’d cry or have a panic attack, as both are good at repressing those sorts of emotions. From both their time in Team Rocket and then as the leaders of their respective organizations, they couldn’t afford to show weakness, so even around each other, they still don’t completely let that drop. It’s too ingrained at this point to always seem strong and collected. That being said, Archie is the more transparent of the two and also the one who’s more honest about what he’s feeling, but when Maxie breaks, he breaks hard.

Talking about whatever the issue is can go either way since they’re prone to arguing, so they’ll generally physically reassure the other first (whether this be through simple holding the other all the way up to sex varies), and once the other has calmed down, then they’ll talk about whatever is bothering the other. Both tend towards being pragmatic, so actually solving whatever is causing the other’s distress is viewed by each as the best approach.

15. Have they saved each other’s lives before

Probably, almost certainly a few of those times being when they were in Team Rocket together. What initially sparked their relationship was how well they were able to work together in stressful situations on the fly. While they had seen each other around headquarters and Archie had tried to engage Maxie in conversation a few times (which resulted in Maxie brushing him off), it’s not until they both get into a dangerous situation on a mission together and are able to get out of it through quick-thinking as a team that they actually start to interact more (or rather, Maxie deems Archie worthy of engaging with). There are likely other situations they’ve been in together where failure could have resulted in death, and it’s through working together that they’re able to keep each other alive.

21. What is their song? Like the song that gives them overwhelming feelings?

I honestly can’t see either of them having a specific song that’s “their song.” If you want a song that remind me of them though, So Tied Up by Cold War Kids, Bishop Briggs is very HardenShippingcore

22. What song do they listen to while going on a joyride

Like most of their interests, they have completely varying tastes in music, so the most common compromise is to either listen to nothing or turn whatever they do end up listening to down low. They don’t generally go on joyrides, so this would be an issue that rarely comes up. The most likely time period they would have gone on random joyrides would be when they were first dating in their 20s, and during that time, they’d be more likely to actually alternate who got to choose the music. This then turned into how long the non-chooser could tolerate the music choice before demanding they put on something else.

37. Do they get into fights often? If so what do they fight over and how do they make up?

They do. A lot. Anything and everything is fair game to fight over, although it’s most often their differing viewpoints on how to approach an issue that gets them into arguments. To some extent, bickering is second nature, and each has gotten better at not taking what the other says personally, so it doesn’t often escalate into a full blown fight. When it does though, they’ve found it’s better if they each separate for a while to cool off, and then re-discuss whatever the issue was once they’ve each had time to calm down. Part of what tore their relationship apart the first time was their inability to see the other’s viewpoint, so this time, they make a promise that even if they don’t see eye-to-eye on an issue, they’ll always listen to and respect the other’s opinion. It’s hard sometimes, but ultimately a difference of opinions isn’t worth the loss of their relationship. They’ve already learned this the hard way.

40. Who would fight in honor for the other if someone would insult them

Both of them would in varying circumstances. It can go either way if they’ll fight someone if the person is simply insulting the other, since they both are forced to accept a certain amount of criticism due to their past actions in Team Aqua and Team Magma. Some criticism is fine, particularly if it’s true, as they’re both trying to rebuild their image in order for Team Terra to get backing. They’d certainly want to fight the person, but they have to choose their battles in order to not damage their reputation further. If the insults start to get particularly vicious or untrue, then it’s more likely they’ll challenge the person to a Pokemon battle to prove them wrong, but again, it’s a cost-benefit situation. If someone were to actually threaten the other though, then without hesitation, they’d fight for each other. Of the two, Archie is slightly more likely to fight someone simply because he’s more impulsive than Maxie. Maxie is better at repressing his feelings for the sake of the Team.

42. How would one react if the other was to die

Ultimately, as sad as each of them would be if the other were to die, they would move on and continue with their lives. It does depend somewhat on when the other were to die though. If it were to be shortly after their teams got back together, or especially while Dylan was young, it would be harder then. Not only would the survivor have to lead the Team alone, but they would also end up as a single parent, alone in raising the child they had vowed to raise together. In some ways though, due to having so many people relying on them, it would force the survivor to remain strong for everyone else. Having Dylan would prevent them from falling too far back into their old habits as well (also they now have a little reminder of their dead lover to care for and protect). While Maxie would be at risk for becoming cold and harsh, he couldn’t for Dylan’s sack. In reverse, Archie would have to remain firm and resolute for Dylan, and couldn’t fall into being impulsive and reckless. It would be hard, but the survivor would ultimately vow to live on in place of the other, doing the best they could to raise their child and make Team Terra the organization they had dreamed of together.

Okay, the Pokémon AU is great and it deserves some more thoughts! So...

Which team do you think the League would be on? Team Rocket? Team Aqua? Team Magma? Team Plasma? Other? Are they actually from different teams and butt heads when they meet?

(And Bakugou as the protagonist would get SO PISSED when his quests got sidetracked by Team Whatever and their shenanigans)

The villain lover in me is LIVING for this ask. I’m so tempted to just say all of them as Team Star because they’re almost entirely young folks who hate the system and want a community who cares for them but I had to give it more thought than that

One of the ones I would put in Team Star would be Magne. Her entire reason for becoming a criminal was so that she could live her own life the way she wanted to, free of societal pressures. I think she’d really dig Star’s pro-community anti-society thing, especially where they have a heavy influence on accepting and lifting up outcasts. I think Toga and Twice would likely fit for similar reasons, since they both turned to crime/the league in part because they were outcasts. It’s obvious one of the things that they both want most is to be loved not in spite of their flaws but because of them, and I think Team Star would really appeal to them due to their sense of community and unconditional acceptance

Mr Compress I would put in the Aether Foundation. Theyre professional, a little flashy, and their goal is to help Pokemon, but they do it in a less-than-legal way. Both their appearance and goals align with Compress's, where he and his great-great grandfather aim to help the general population the Aether Foundation aim to help Pokemon. I considered making him Team Flare but I think their whole "blow up the planet" gig was a little too aggressive for Compress

Kurogiri is Macro Cosmo. I know their status as villains is super highly disputed and theyre typically not considered villains but hear me out. Most Macro Cosmo employees are just that. Employees. It can be assumed that they didnt exactly sign up for a villainous organization, they just ended up a part of it. Thats exactly what happened to Kurogiri; he never wanted to be a villain, but now its just a part of his job

Shigaraki and Dabi would both be Team Skull. Theyre similar to Magne, Twice, and Toga in the sense that society doesnt appeal to them, and theyre outcasts who wanted to rebel. The reason I went with Team Skull however is that Team Star feels a bit... too friendly? Theyre both pretty cold, and dont want much to do with a team. Team Skull feels a little less found family and a little more "group who support each other for a common goal" which I think would appeal to them more (not that they wouldnt just become a found family later on anyway)

Spinner is Team Yell because he too spends every waking moment stanning someone more well-known than him, to the point of being a criminal

Giran is Team Rocket because money defies all moral expectations

(Oh Bakugou would HATE these guys. He would either have to be completely inconvenienced (typical "you will die if you dont help" type shit) or be offered WILD compensation for his time. At some point it would become personal tho and he'd be annoyed with them and enjoy beating them for fun)

The first book in my hardenshipping trilogy, The Devil and the Dead Sea, focuses on Maxie's desperation to reach the Seafloor Cavern. After his own plans fall through, he must enlist the help of his enemy in order to reach his goals, and joins hands with Team Aqua in order to reach the cavern.

But along the way, a hidden romance is discovered between the two teams, and Maxie must bring his team - and his own sanity - back under control, lest he lose everything he's ever worked for in the process.

A traditional Enemies-to-Lovers - featuring many parties Maxie does not want to be at. Gossip, nonsense, sad feelings, and sea shanties ensue.

Follow a young, aspiring, college-age Maxie as he strives to find his calling. He and Archie--along with one other peculiar blue-haired scientist--travel the region to chart and discover the legendary Pokemon--inadvertently feeding this information directly into the hands of Team Rocket.

Featuring Even More Parties that Maxie Does Not Want to Be At, and Colress, who is only there to break rules. There is some light Maxie/Colress content, a peculiar and disastrous ship I am referring to as FeralScienceShipping

Book 3: Mother Earth and Her Infinite Sky (wip) ~ 100,000 words (probably)

I don’t like that this is a recurring pattern for some reason.” “It’s like every region’s just linin’ up waitin’ for their next apocalypse,” Archie laughed. “Who’s next? Kalos? Alola? The third book in the Dead Sea Trilogy, in which Archie and Maxie (and their third wheel, Colress) are working together to build something new from the ashes of their two retired teams. They join forces with their mutual parole officer (Looker) to keep themselves out of jail, and to a stop to an emerging threat in the Sinnoh region.

Featured Characters/Concepts: Maxie, Archie, Colress, Looker, Matt, Shelly, Courtney, Tabitha, Team Galactic, Archie and Maxie's fledgling romantic relationship, Courtney's weird computer thing, and the Creation Trio.

Spinoff: Ophelia and the King’s Madness (wip) ~ 140,000 words

"N's heart is pure and innocent. But there is nothing more beautiful and terrifying than innocence."

This is one of only three quotes uttered by Concordia in the entire game. Ophelia tells the story of Ghetsis' lesser-known children, Anthea and Concordia, and how Concordia came to the conclusion she did. It explores Team Plasma as a cult, Ghetsis as its leader, and the two sisters as sheltered prisoners in their own "heavenly" home.

The story centers greatly on Concordia and the secret, romantic relationship she develops with Colress, who hides a great portion of who he is while continuing to experiment with Team Plasma and Project Genesect behind her back.

Featured Characters/Concepts: Anthea, Concordia, Colress, N, Ghetsis, Project Genesect, the logistics of Team Plasma as a cult, Ghetsis' manipulation of Anthea & Concordia in order to "correctly raise" raise N.

The boy was special, and he intended to find out why.

An origin story for Astor from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Exile//Vilify tells the story of those that are chosen, and those who are not.

Astor has trained since childhood to become the next Royal Seer, but he is plagued with a dark secret: a prophecy that states that he will one day be expelled from the castle, sent into exile, and devote his life to Calamity Ganon.

General fiction, no extensive ship content. Featuring Astor as the royal seer, Astor having a deep, meaningful relationship with Zelda's mother, and a Fate-worshipping cult that calls themselves the Royal Order of the Seers.

Featured Characters/Concepts: Astor, Zelda's mother, King Rhoam, Master Kohga & Sooga, original Hylian characters, a deconstruction of the concept of fate & predestination, and an exploration of Astor's cult/eventual worship of Calamity Ganon.

Stories from Exile ~ 50,000 words (ongoing)

In which Kohga and Sooga are really just friends.

Stories from Exile is a collection of one-shots, short stories, and other just general snippets, some much more serious than others, that are related to the world of Exile//Vilify. Majority focuses on "evil" Astor - aka, his time spent in exile - and his misadventures with the Yiga Clan, although there are a handful of stories of Royal Seer Astor in Hyrule Castle, including a few heartwarming ones with the baby Princess Zelda.

The Totally-Platonic relationship of Kohga and Sooga really takes the cake here though, and a great handful of stories also focus on Yiga-Clan shenanigans. There is a table of contents at the beginning so you are able to sort through and find what you'd like.

Updated sporadically as new ideas strike me, all canon or semi-canon to Exile//Vilify.

Featured Characters/Concepts: Master Kohga, Sooga, Astor, Lady Urbosa, Princess Zelda, the rest of the HWAOC crew. Antics.

Trouble Will Find Me (wip)

Trouble Will Find Me stands as a prequel to Exile//Vilify. It is a story that focuses on Astor's mentor, Thelem, and what brought him to the Royal Order of the Seers, and to the events that take place right before his first meeting with Astor.

This is Thelem's origin story, featuring the formative years he spends on Satori Mountain, finding himself, his meeting and relationship with Azelphir, and a more in-depth look at the culture and religion of the Order of the Seers.

Featured Characters/Concepts: Thelem, Azelphir, deeper lore of the Order of the Seers, Thelem's origin story, Thelem and Azelphir's underlying feelings for one another. Blupees, Koroks, Hyrule's other supernatural phenoma, and the Lord of the Mountain.

Rewoven into the Stars was a gift/commission for a friend, which falls in the Stories from Exile universe. A portal opens through space-time and sends a rather strange (and kind) Ganondorf through. He and the formerly-royal seer spend the following weeks growing closer, even falling in love.

here are all of the digital refs of my ocs for a thing im calling Diablo Hill- I do need to redraw a lot of them but its the best i got

the main gang, Dustin, Ace, and Malcom, a bunch of queers who go around exploring haunted abandoned buildings and accidently summoning demons

Penny is a human side character, i haven't drawn enough of the side characters to justify a whole section- but Penny exists, she works with malcom and has a crush on every tall creepy guy she comes across

This is one of the most infamous local cryptids of Diablo Hill, some say he used to just a guy before something happened. He has eaten people but its not his fault he just gets hungry. he still broadcasts his rants ramblings as well as any music he likes, he often talks of "his love" "the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen" swooning and babbling endlessly of a woman he'd fallen in love with in life

Wyatt Weird is yet another suspicious character in Diablo Hill, he says to sell magic candy but its usually sub par warm melted goo, mostly because he keeps them in his coat. he restocks in a suspicious white van that seems to disappear behind back alleys- sometimes he rants and mumbles about a business partner who took everything from him

OK now The demons

This is Paprika Cheshire, the shopkeeper of the small hell town, he sells the goods of his fellow townsfolk to outsiders, he can often highten prices unfairly much to the dismay of the mayor- aside from his greed he is quite pleasant, just dont trust him with any secrets, his mouths like to gossip

This is Denora, she lives in the big city selling homemade trinkets, potions, and perfumes. she is always welcoming sometimes too welcoming especially for the city- her size usually protects her from danger but prevents her from really going out in the city given the cramped narrow and acidic streets

This is Squigg, they own the Jabberwocky Cafe, a small little cafe hidden away in the demon city that may or may not have ties to the mafia

This is Zig, the powerhouse of the (red team) mafia, a force of destruction and a wall of hot magma like skin, despite this hes very polite to his peers if not brutish and bombastic. His tie is a separate demon named Windsor, sometimes a voice of reason but usually a nagging presence that backs up his best friend.

Last but certainly not least we have Thorn a mysterious hulking beast of a demon, she has been spotted in the woods of Diablo hill, gathering roses and planting them around a cave that presumably leads directly to hell

in hell she lives on a tall mountain covered in twisted thorned foliage, she is mostly a recluse even but still considered part of the small hell town the mountain looks over, providing strong spiked logs for buildings and bright beautiful red roses as decorations

she longs for her lover on the surface

I have SO SOOOO many more but these are the solid in place roles and most deigns, i hope you like them because there will be more to come from my wacky silly demon world Love you Mwa!
