我不了解鳥類 我也不知道火的歷史。 可我相信我的孤獨應該有雙翅膀。
I don’t know about birds nor do I know the history of fire. But I believe that my solitude should have wings.

Just realized I uploaded this on my other socials but not on here. A couple years ago, I was really interested in re-imagining Swan Lake as a comic, but never got far with it and put it to the side. The story found its way back to me, and I'd love to have another go at it and work it into a graphic novel after I publish my debut graphic novel trilogy KLOUD 9 (coming in 2025!)
These are some rough character designs I was playing around with for my take on the Swan Lake characters. I wanted my Odette to be a magical Filipina princess, as my dream of helping work on the first Filipina Disney princess movie seems too far off at this point in my career. So I don't really want to wait, and I'm just making my own haha!

The first time the Kirov ballet was seen in America was on Sept. 11, 1961. The ballet was 'Swan Lake.' The ballerina was Inna Zubkovskaya. The place was the old Met, on what must have been one of the hottest nights of the year, and there was no air-conditioning. by Robert Gottlieb

I was doing a Physics test alone, but then my 60 year old professor started performing Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" by herself. I woke up when I tried to clap.

Princess Tutu and Corresponding Ballets Revisited - Episode 13
Swan Lake - Swan Lake
Tumblr media
Reasons for inclusion
Episode’s title
Music from ballet used in episode
Referenced in the opening narration
Tutu and Kraehe wear outfits inspired by Odette and Odile respectively
The Pas de deux Tutu dances alone is probably one of the more dramatic bits of Swan Lake
Princess Tutu looks like a swan when anyone other than the main characters see her
The 'false princess' Mytho chooses could be either Rue or Ahiru depending upon your point of view here

Guys I just had a realization while I was driving:
So I’m not sure if anyone has pointed this out before, but the intro to “Across The Stars” sounds super similar to the opening of the famous piece from Swan Lake (please don’t come for me I tried so hard to find what the name was). Obviously John Williams is a genius, so I believe this to be intentional since both pieces have an ominous tone and are part of a larger context of good versus evil, with one of the main characters being someone who plays both characters of good and evil who are one person but also two people (Anakin/Darth Vader and Odette/Odile). I hope this makes sense I have a headache and I didn’t do a super in-depth analysis since I wanted to post this before I forgot.
Edit: Also an interesting coincidence is that both pieces are from works that were unpopular at their time of release but eventually grew to become iconic.
