Any tips on telling the difference between e7s and e8s ?
weirdly enough I believe E7 and E8 to have allot of similarities.
Lust and Indulgement
Sense for freedom
Assertive
Frustration with attachments
And allot of 7s can look like 8s (Han Solo SP7)
Vice Versa Katherine Pierce SP8 (looking like a SP7)
The 7
However the differences can be seen on how they approach life. The 7 yearns for freedom and pleasure (by pleasure I mean a general enjoyment of life) thats why their biggest problem is Gluttony. They want to enjoy everything at its fullest. Allot 7s imo have a 3 ish material desire BUT unlike the E3 who likes pretty things due to its aesthetic and value, the 7 enjoys them for the joy it brings to them.
Gluttony in the enneagram is an excessive need to consume indulgence.
The 8
Unlike the 7 the 8 doesn't look to enjoy things but rather have a full anatomical control of itself. The 8 tend to have a black and white view of things. They are natural go getters and dont mind being more abrupt about the things they want unlike the 7 who is more calm. Which is why their vice is lust incredibly fitting imo.
Lust in the enneagram is an intense desire to get X not usually sexual in nature but can be.
Characters to contrast them
Elite: Guzman (ESTJ 8w7 sp/sx) vs Christian (ESFP 7w8 sp/sx)
SATC: Miranda (ESTJ 8w9 sp/sx) vs Samantha (ESTP 7w8 sp/sx)
GOT: Cersei Lannister (ESTJ 8w9 sp/sx) vs Tyrion (ENTP 7w8 sp/so)
LOK Korra (ESFP 8w7 so/sx) vs Bolin ( ENFP 7w6 sx/so)
SW: Leia Organa (ENTJ 8w9 so/sp) vs Han (ESTP 7w8 sp/sx)
Inuyasha: Inuyasha (ESTP 8w7 sx/sp) vs Miroku (ENTP 7w6 sx/so)
TBOSAS: Sejanus (ESFP 8w9 so/sx) vs Lucy Gray (ENFP 7w6 sx/so)
Note: Sorry for taking so long to answer college has been difficult to handle due to graduation.
Note #2: I'll try and post unhealthy/ healthy type 6 this week.

Part One || The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Enneagram
Sejanus Plinth
Type One || 1w2 || 146
Tumblr media
Type One:
Sejanus is motivated by his desire for Goodness, in the moral sense. His ethical integrity is at the forefront of his personality, and is the be all and end all of all his decisions and relationships.
Ones are highly principled and decisive when dealing with moral quandaries, and they seek out a sense of purpose
Sejanus resents his father, his classmates, and the Capitol on the whole for decisions that are at odds with his own ideals, and refuses to let that go unnoticed; at all times, the most important thing for him is to stand up for what he believes is right and just.
Type Four:
Fours tend towards melancholia. They can be explosive and sensitive, especially when circumstances challenge their sense of identity.
Sejanus has a habit of self-pity, however justified it might be, and wears his emotions blatantly on his sleeve. He is not precious about being seen as flawed, but is absolute about being authentic and true to himself (and his ideals).
Type Six
Sejanus is committed to both his goals and his friends - right to the bitter end. He will only momentarily stray from his stubbornly held beliefs when cornered by Coriolanus, his closest, and perhaps only, friend.
He desires material and emotional security for himself and his loved ones, and we only see him falter when their safety and his own is compromised - when his actions backfire and he comes face to face with the chaos in his wake.
Thanks for reading! I intend on making more of these as the mood strikes me - particularly Coriolanus and Lucy Gray, and I might try my hand at the main trilogy too (as soon as I finish my reread)!
These posts solely reflect my personal interpretation of these characters based on both the books and the films, if you would type them differently, I’d love to hear your perspective!
I used the Enneagram Institute webpage for type descriptions to make my initial decisions for this post, so for more information on Enneagram types in general, I can recommend their site!

Sejanus was isolated in his own home because of his father's siding with the president, but then ripped from his home, cries unheard by his father, surrounded by people who looked down on him, and bullied for 10 years. He watched as District children like him killing each other and he didn't get reaped because his father got money. For sure, his heart got torn apart with guilt and dilemma.
He lived in a fucked up society AND he stayed kind.
Foolish and naïve or not, impatient and impulsive or not, he is the epitome of the first verse of Pure As The Driven Snow. And I think he's one of the strongest characters in TBOSAS, because the strongest people are the kindhearted.
If Coryo was more openminded and they listened to each other, for sure they could change everything.
(And so I have realised, Snowjanus is the answer to a better Panem. BAHAHAHAHA.)

Coriolanus Snow is enneagram 3 sp/so, I said it.
I might have forgotten some details in TBOSAS but I found out some people typed him as Enneagram 8?
He didn't step into a situation and immediately take charge or intimidate people like Enneagram 8 usually do, he didn't command the room either. He cared a lot about his image and the Snow name, concerned about showing the right image of the Snow family and doing his part as a Snow. He was also quite detached from his human traits like empathy in his pursuit of success and security, always thinking about what he could gain from a particular decision he made — that currency or 'quid pro quo' mindset is very Enneagram 3. He was focused on climbing the ranks. He got closer to people with power, authority and influences; like the insane doctor despite knowing the woman was dangerous, and Sejanus' parents, and his 'friends'. This is why he liked Lucy Gray at first, because she attracted the attention of the audience, i.e. influence. He smiled and pretended while working his way to the top. He's so enneagram 3, the worst kind, of course.
I haven't thought about his MBTI but I found out people also typed him as INTJ. I mean.... if that's true, INTJ enneagram 8 would not budge like he did, they would not play the game. INTJs are stubborn about doing things their way, INTJs are not always aware of social dynamic like Coryo did, plus they lack loyalty to traditions or the established rules of the social game. INTJ enneagram 3 however? They would adapt and play the game, while disagreeing with it at the same time and changing it slowly to fit their needs as they go. Which Coryo did. Well, he might not disagree with the Hunger Games but he didn't exactly agree with everything that was going on (at first) either, he just didn't fight against it like Sejanus did. He insulted people in his monologue but he still played the game, he made changes in the Hunger Games too.

this is so sick and fucking TWISTEDDDDDD
God really sent me a curly haired latino with big brown puppy dog eyes and a deep love and empathy for humanity INFP mama’s boy who wants to be a medic literally two days after i finished reading tbosas in the exact same manner a frantic parent would replace their small child’s beloved goldfish in a desperate attempt to keep them from noticing that said fish had passed on from this mortal world

💌 i love writing smut and i also love writing angst with some BTS members x Female Reader/Female OC. i like exploring AUs and writing prompts inspired by songs too.
💌 sometimes i like to write darkfics (and the characters aren't always good people, but anyone who reads fanfic should know that these things have anything to do with the real-life members).
💌 on this account i usually pick writing ONLY about my biases (mainly jungkook, who's my ultimate). in no way am i belittling the other members, cuz i love them too, but i just feel more comfortable this way. i hope you respect that. <3
💌 but if i ever write something about them, i'll add it to the alternative masterlist.
💌 if any of my writing involve love triangles (or something like that) with the other members, I'll add it to the 2 masterlists (the real main and the alternative).
💌 THINGS I REALLY DON'T WRITE ABOUT: pedophilia, incest (step-incest MAYBE), rape/non-con (dub-con MAYBE), male!reader or male!oc, ABO, anything sexual involving poop. anyway, there are several other criminal things that are kind of obvious too, right?
💌 REQUESTS: closed for now, but you can feel free to send me messages suggesting some idea. <3
💌: all my fics are crossposted on my ao3.

Hi Issac! Sorry for bothering but I wanted to hear your thoughts about something
I watched the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes a few weeks ago and after I left the cinema I decided to look for the character typings in PDB (an horrible decision most of the time, I know 😅)
Well, the thing is that they were more or less as I expected, but one typing specially was a little bit odd for me. Movies' Tigris is typed as an INFJ and I don't really see it, do you?
That's all, hope you have a good day 🫶🏼
Hello @herebedragonsbooks, I also went to PDB to check their typings and it's a whole mess.
Tigris: ESFJ FeSi 9w1 so/sx 937 Cancer (could see ENFJ tho)
Idk Where people get Ni from her. Specially her being an Ni dom. To me Tigris striked me as an Fe dom most of her time in the movie she spent giving back to Snow because she was potential in him doing good for Panem. She always kept others feelings and thoughts on her forefront most of the time.
" I wouldn't sing a note for you" Its very clear she understands the emotional distress Lucy must be on and she prioritizes it rather than some ideal essence of whats at hand.
"She's Just a girl Grandma, not a rebel" Another Example of Fe, Perceiving reality through others emotions and social understanding
"You look just like your father Coriolanus" Her pointing out his complete and total change.
Im pretty sure there are some quotes I missed but come on INFJ? Ni dom? I dont thinks so. Personally ENFJ would be ok but I think Si makes more sense for her.
The Other typings from the movie.
Lucy Gray Baird: EXFP XeFi 7w6 sx/so 794 (possibly so/sx) Aquarius
Idk between Se or Ne, the arguments I've read for her Ne go something along the lines of she can make things up and connect her thoughts...which yikes, anyone can think. As for her enneagram im 99% sure she is an E7 however her subtype is a bit odd personally I think SX7 suits her greatly but I could see other subtypes fit her as well. Idk why people in PDB want her to be an E4 so bad.
Coriolanus Snow: ENTJ TeNi 3w4 so/sp 358 Capricorn
pretty straight forward tbh
Sejanus Plynth: ESFP SeFi 8w7 so/sx 827 Saggitarius

Part Two || The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Enneagram
Coriolanus Snow
Type Eight || 8w7 || 835
Tumblr media
Type Eight (8w7)
Coriolanus demonstrates throughout the text an almost obsessive fear of vulnerability. It informs many of his decisions; by the end of the novel he resolves to never allow himself to experience love again, as the loss of Lucy Gray and Sejanus have left him feeling weak - and this feeling of weakness almost visibly drives him mad.
Coriolanus falls into the trap of the type 8 personality of relying on his sense of control. He tells us in no uncertain terms that he preferred Lucy Gray when she was in the arena, when he knew where she was and he was not susceptible to feel jealousy. He believes she belongs to him. He exhibits these behaviours with Sejanus and Tigris also. He is very assertive.
Coriolanus’ desire for power and control come from his belief that he is unrivalled in terms of leadership qualities, that at all times - he is the best man for the job. Everything that comes his way, he is confident that he is deserving due to both birth right, and the qualities he believes he possesses innate to him.
Type Three (3w4)
Coriolanus is deeply conscious of his image, and how that will lead to his success. He refuses to give even a hint of his poverty and hunger to his classmates at the Academy and will do whatever it takes to maintain the facade he believes will ensure his social success.
He is very charming and charismatic with his peers, having seemingly long-standing friendships with Clemensia and Lysistrata, and being among the few who don’t openly bully Sejanus during their time at school. He maintains a withdrawn and surface level friendship with all around him - and is very much bothered by the fact that Dean Highbottom does not hold him in high regard.
He is calculating in his diplomacy, withholding the true nature of Sejanus’ demise from everyone aside from Dr Gaul, and swallows his guilt immediately to turn on the charm for the Plinths, in order - once again - to ensure his own success. Sejanus describes Coriolanus as someone who watches everything and only weighs in when he deems it necessary.
Type Five (5w6)
As above, Coriolanus is highly perceptive. His ability and drive to have a comprehensive idea about his surroundings and peers are a kind of armour for him. He refuses to take anybody at their word and involves himself whenever he is spurred by the drive to be fully cognisant of events. To be in control.
He belittles Sejanus constantly for his reliance on emotion and opinion when debating the Capitol’s morality, and the value of the games. He is extremely logical in his approach to gamemaking - a trait that Dr Gaul values, and Dean Highbottom attempts to suppress.
He is isolated and secretive in both his goals and methods, needing only his own counsel and understanding to make any decision.
Thanks for reading! I intend on making more of these as the mood strikes me, Lucy Gray will likely be next.
These posts solely reflect my personal interpretation of these characters based on both the books and movies. If you would type them differently, I’d love to hear your perspective.

Hmmm interesting I personally never saw Sejanus as 1. I believe him to be too reactive to be one, plus he doesn't seems prioritize perfection and discipline as much as a 1 would. Personally to me Sejanus would most likely be a healthy 8w7 so/sx or possibly 6w7 so/sx. I could see 9w1 so/sx. Also what would his subtypes be in your opinion?

Ah that’s interesting!! I did consider type 8 also!
I think I would put his subtypes as 4w3 and 6w7. 4w3 because he’s much more action driven than a 4w5 would be, and 6w7 because I really just don’t see much 5 in him at all, whereas 7’s impulsivity would suit him. 8 is a very interesting point though I definitely see your logic - and might be inclined to agree!
I’m not all that familiar with the instinctual variants, as often as I refresh my memory on them I forget their significance so I won’t show myself up trying to form an opinion on here haha
