Hello and good day! I'm sorry if this has already been asked before and you can totally just ignore this if you want, but I'm curious: can you imagine a world where somehow, Aoi likes someone else and not Akane? Cause I think that while the canon version of her is cute, I have recently read a what-if fanfic in her pov where she absolutely hates Akane the same way she does her other admirers and now I am hyperfixating on that. What habits would have been different compared to canon Aoi? Would Akane have grown more deperate since he (presumably) would know that Aoi genuinely does not like him in this scenario? What if he began noticing Aoi starting to like her dream boy in class? The possibilities are killing meeeeee!

Oh man, I'm the wrong person to ask this cause I genuinely can't imagine this scenario being possible without obliterating Akane's characterization.

Do you remember why Akane fell in love with Aoi? Because Aoi loved him so much that she broke her "cold and indifferent, hate dealing with people" mask for him. She TRIED so hard to hate him but still ended up crying cause she cared so much.

If the mask was real and she truly didn't care about him, I don't think Akane would fall for her.

If he did fall for her later on anyways, I can't see him trying to pursue her after being rejected/met with her discomfort/annoyance. Even in the timeline where she does like him and comes up with the silliest of excuses to keep him around without straight up accepting his confessions, he had admitted that he would keep keeping her safe while keeping a distance in case she doesn't want him.

He only pursues her so much cause she actively flirts and encourages him to.

The idea Aoi would encourage him if she didn't like him does make Akane pestering her believable but at the cost of Aoi's own character being obliterated. I don't think I'm being harsh when I say Aoi would be a bitch if she went "hehe try harder <3 Impress me Akane-kun!" consistently enough for him to buy it that she could date him while thinking "Tch, hate this guy, he keeps harassing me".

That would means she doesn't even consider him a friend, she doesn't care AT ALL about his feelings, which is nothing like the Aoi who tries to pretend the people she dislikes don't bother her/don't exist and loves her friends dearly, putting them above her.

The most I can picture is Aoi falling for someone else and Akane either not getting a crush on her and supporting her fully, or slowly putting some barrier between them cause he can see Aoi doesn't like him and being in pain, the classic 'i want her to be happy' and 'she won't be with me' conflict where he has a crisis but eventually learn to let her go, reach the point he can be comfortable by her side even when she is with someone else.

Or Aoi realizing Akane likes her romantically and being anxious that she has to reject a friend, whom she deeply values, but her growing unease and lack of encouragement wouldn't be able to fool Akane for long. Their whole thing is that they know each other well after all and Akane consistently asks 'are you okay?' when he senses anything may be wrong with Aoi.

Maybe it would take some months for Akane to understand without Aoi giving him a straight-up rejection, especially if they are small when he gets the crush, but Akane pays so much attention to her, he would pick up the signs she is uncomfortable, especially if it reaches a point of Aoi staring to resent him for it more than being scared of losing him. He either drop it silently or straight up confront her about it, probably.

To kind of add onto the Aoiaoi post from earlier I just wanted to include a few things I didn’t mention cause discourse

Akane didn’t strangle Aoi, but he still pushed her over, and proceeded to grab her by the neck and forced her upwards, hence the coughing. That’s still bad, actually!

Tbhktwt is having a moment right now, and I feel like a lot of people are either overblowing / diluting the conflict in the chapter. Akane is being forceful, both physically and not, and that’s not good! It’s obvious to say that in no other situation would Aoi have confronted her issues, but that doesn’t take away from the invasive act of it. He isn’t just forcing her to confront her feelings, he’s distressing her on purpose to prove his point, no matter his intentions he’s still doing something wrong. They’re both incredibly messed up individuals, and Aoi has a lot of blood on her hands as well.

Aoi intended on killing herself, and when Akane got in her way, she took him with her.

I’ve reread Akane & Aoi multiple times and still sit on the conclusion that their confrontation solved nothing. Akane is upset at Aoi for lying to people, but he doesn’t once try to rationalize why she’s doing so. Instead, he puts all the blame on her. He claims to understand her so deeply yet not once does he show her an ounce of grace. All he does is make her problems a “what about me?”, he doesn’t ask her anything, it’s all just what he thinks. “Why do you act like this?” Would’ve been a lot better than just getting in her face to yell, I think. Aoi has reasons for the way she acts, not excuses, but she tells him why she thinks that way and he still doesn’t get it. He repeatedly dismisses her distress, and gets in her space when she doesn’t want him to. She isn’t flustered, she’s uncomfortable. Which should be obvious considering the difference between the expressions she makes when she is! This chapter, and I really can’t stress this enough, is the farthest thing from romantic, and absolutely eons away from being even remotely healthy. This chapter is a hard and uncomfortable read, because of how deeply gross it is.

Aoiaoi is an incredibly complex relationship that shows two people in a toxic codependency, and Akane & Aoi is the absolute breaking point. They’re both fucked up in ways that only being apart can fix, and when forcing them to “confront” their issues, it’s just going to get messy. The objective view of them as peers is muddled when you focus on the imbalance between the two. Aoi has dealt with constant harassment from childhood, and as shown in the chapter, and has assumedly been mostly sexual harassment. And for Akane show such a clear disregard of her comfort is gross in basically every way. That is the rock bottom of Aoiaoi, and I am so tired of people justifying what happens just because they like them.

And I can repeat this a thousand times, every relationship in tbhk is flawed. But that doesn’t mean you should ignore the bad behavior in them, and using it as an excuse is exhausted and weird. You can like Aoiaoi all you want, but that doesn’t mean you should justify the bad shit! Every relationship is flawed, but that doesn’t mean they’re all flawed the same. Not everything is toxic yaoi, some things are just toxic, and acknowledging that is really important. Don’t justify abuse or mistreatment! I think!

I could restate the whole end-part of the original Aoiaoi post but I don’t feel like it. Uhmmmm I don’t hate Aoiaoi I just personally think they should be treated by the fandom at large with more tact and care. They’re volatile and in a lot of cases I see people just, ignore the toxicity, in favor of a cute ship and that’s not great. Understanding flaws within characters is important, don’t be dense, don’t be misogynistic! Cause Aoi hate is usually that! Akane hate isn’t though as much as I love him he has his,,,low points (this entire post) and deserves getting thrown through multiple stained glass windows

"Can't get enough of me, huh?"

You chuckled. Opposed to the usual, Aoi-focused, stern and sarcastic vice president, he had dragged you to the student council room (again). His arms currently wrapped around your waist with his face shoved on your shoulder, hugging from behind.

"Shut up..." he muttered, too tired to respond with a better comeback. He kept on mumbling, however you didn't care enough to listen.

Days like these, he would always come to you whenever he's in a dampened mood; whether he's feeling tired, sad, angry, anything negative. Whether the reason he did was because of another rejection from Aoi, handling the president's torture, or stressed from all the workload.

He comes to you for comfort so many times that you jokingly asked him once if he had any feelings for you.

Though the moment your words came out and he heard it, he didn't really take the 'joke' that well...

You didn't really mind it, actually. Sure, it may be bothersome at times. But the fact a person like him only does this to you was not something you can brush off now. Especially knowing that he's the #1 loyal simp for his crush.

You liked the fact you're the only person who does this to him, suppose that's the summary.

... Sighing, you only stayed in your seat. Except the action was proven difficult do so because of the chair's stiff structure that didn't exactly help you relax, and you knew you'd eventually have to get up to avoid getting an ache on your ass. Sometimes, you always forget about the cons of being 'Akane's cuddlebear' before you actually deal with it.

Feeling your shuffling, Akane noticed the movement and started to move your legs. He holds you for a moment, oblivious of your widened eyes, before gently positioning you on his lap. Wrapping his arms around your form again and snuggling his face to your midsection.

You tensed up, shocked at his uncharacteristically bold move. But from his lack of movement, you decided to stay quiet about it and reach to play with his hair. His strands were soft on your fingertips, and as you continue to run your hand through his hair, Akane hums in delight at your touches. He sighs as he can feel the built-up tension releasing, his shoulders becoming slack, and he feels himself feeling more relaxed as the seconds go by. Too busy shoving his face on your figure, he wasn't aware of a pleased smile forming.

Tensing up again since you're getting a little ticklish from all his gestures- you roll your eyes at his clinginess, a slight concern growing along with uncomfort from the glasses he has placed on his head.

Without a thought, your fingers tangled themselves in his hair before pulling it gently to retrieve the glasses.

His head was yanked up slightly as a choked up groan escaped from his lips. His face lightly scrunch up- not from any pain- but from being taken aback. Ignoring his wincing, you took his frames by the middle and placed them on the table. Akane was about to ask you why the hell did you do that before staring at the square frames‐ the words disappearing as he gave you a halfhearted glare .

"You could've just told me to take them off." He certainly didn't like having his hair pulled.

Huffing, you smiled smugly at his reaction, "Don't be a baby. You should've removed it earlier."

Reaching to the pockets of your clothing, you took out your phone and turned it on. Planning to ignore him for the remaining time he cuddles with you, you missed the way his eyebrows furrowed.

With a sigh, he begrudgingly accepted not having your attention as he returns to hugging you. The act of embracing you, with each other's figured close like this was soothing. It wasn't even anything intimate‐ just the quiet company of yours was already enough to shoo his worries away. It's like you always know what to do to get him to be eased, regardless if you did it on purpose or not.

With your warmth against his own, he was only focused on the feeling as he breathed in your faimilar scent that he had gotten used to.

A faint pink tint of blush coloured his cheeks. The fact that no one seems to be barging in or interrupting seems to only add to the serene moment that includes only you two, despite being in school grounds.

A sigh escaped past his lips, this time it was louder and you can tell he's more than happy to be in this moment. The repeated drooping of his eyes is getting more frequent- and he resists the incoming feeling of drowsiness to avoid accidentally falling asleep.

Time had passed. You didn't know how long though, but you can guess it was a couple of minutes.

Out of curiosity, you checked the time on your phone. With just one glance, your face turned into a look of grimace. The clock was nearing, and you needed to go home 'less your parents get mad at you for being late.

Without warning, you removed his arms around you and get off his lap with ease. Effectively waking up Akane to the fullest, blinking in a micture of confusion and dissapointment.

Akane gives you a look. If you were to describe the expression he's doing, it was something akin to a cat after they had their headpats withdrawn from them. He asks you first before you can speak. "What are you doing?"

Retrieving your school bag from the table, you looked at him with an indifferent gaze. "I need to go now. My parents need me to patroll the house while they attend a birthday party of one of my cousins..." You shrugged, you didn't even know about that relative's existence until yesterday. Akane was silent at your response, and you couldn't pinpoint what it is that he's feeling right now.

He pursued his lips, fixing his sitting position and clearing his throat. He pretends to be nonchalant, ignoring the disappointment rising in his chest at the fact you're leaving so soon. "Okay then, see you tomorrow."

It's funny how he's acting professional around you yet acts so clingy in private. You only nodded at his words, "Yeah, good luck on your paperwork, Aoi-san."

Your use of his last name didn't sit right with him.

"You can call me Akane-kun, it's fine." Averting his gaze, his eyes land on the papers sprawled on the table. The activities that he should've been doing instead of cuddling you like a bear. But if he had a say in his defense- he needed it.

Blinking in suprise, your eyes widen slightly before a corner of your mouth twitches up. You raise your eyebrow in a mix of interest and amusement, watching as he analyzes the papers. "Huh."

Akane didn't hear you, so you shrugged with acceptance and opened the door. Before leaving, you turn to face him, giving him a lazy wave and a lopsided smile. "See ya tomorrow."

His eyes raced up, Akane wasn't able to reciprocate the gesture since you were already out of the door. With no one but him and the load of work in the student council room, he slumps on his chair with a low sigh, rubbing his temples in irritation.

Not to you, but to himself.

A faint blush decorates his face when thinking about earlier. He grumbles a few incoherent things, "What am I even doing?"

Okay wow I have so many crack headcanons so prepare yourself. Take every negative thing I’ve ever said abt fanon and throw it out the window, this is about to get so unserious

• Akane has a random lock of Aoi’s hair on a shelf in his room

It's a good question, the chapters can increase or decrease according to the fame and success of the manga, and since sales are good, it's likely that it will become a little longer.

There's still a lot that needs to be developed and explained, although the mysteries are almost all without the yorishiros, we still have the story of the twins, Yashiro, Mitsuba, the family of exorcists, the entity, Tsuchigomori (who seems to have a very important role here), there's also the possibility of more alternative realities emerging and of course, the development of the original story itself.

So, in addition to that, we still have the development of their relationships, we're following the problems, we need to find out how everything will develop over time in relation to many things.

We are still in the discovery phase, in this current arc, we will still see the new changes, how they will deal with it and try to reverse it, and then the story of Number 1, we may still see more about the twins' story directly or indirectly, but if you want to know, this year will probably only focus on this arc.

Considering that it is a monthly publication, then we have 12 chapters per year, it all depends on the size of the arc that will be developed. The arc of number 6 was long, we basically went 1 year without seeing Hanako.

So, even if we have a list of everything that will still happen, what determines the size of the arc is how it is developed.

While the arc of number 6 was very long, the arc of number 5 (Tsuchigomori) was very short, it was an arc of introduction of the character.

So my answer is that we cannot have a precise idea because it will depend on the development, however, I believe that there is still a lot ahead.

And about the ending, wow, I really have no idea! Aidairo is so unpredictable, literally anything can happen. But if we are to follow the anime's credits and what happened to the school when time advanced, the twins will probably "become one", with this entity and great destruction.

Everyone dies

Nene sacrifices herself and saves the twins

Amane lets the illness he had as a child develop and Tsukasa wouldn't have sacrificed himself.

Amane accepts that Tsukasa sacrifices himself and lives his life.

Reincarnation (I don't know if it's possible in this universe, but I don't want to rule it out)

Hanako does something terrible, but manages to make Tsukasa and Nene stay with him in a controversial way.

Of all the situations, I believe in 6, because Amane is not the type to easily give up on the person he loves and is capable of doing something terrible to have the one he loves by his side.

For a neutral ending: They go back in time and completely destroy the entity, without the entity, nothing bad happens, but in this case, Nene and Amane will not be together, Amane will probably die of the disease and only Tsukasa will be left. (assuming he doesn't take his own life in the process, which could also happen.)

For a positive ending:

Let's imagine that Amane got sick because of the entity (it's a hypothesis) so, if they go back in time and destroy the entity, the twins will live normally, but in that case, Amane will be too old to have a romantic relationship with Nene, but at least he and his brother will be happy and Nene will live her life normally.

For an even more positive ending, everyone would die and be reincarnated, so they would live together normally.

Negative ending:

The entity inside Hanako breaks free, he loses control and destroys everything, Nene tries to stop Hanako, but since he is not under control, he kills her, Kou will have to exorcise Hanako, a promise he made at the beginning of the manga and I think that this is not here for nothing.

Kou will be the only one who does this, Tsukasa lost the seal to make Hanako weaker, and before Kou exorcises Hanako, Amane will realize that he destroyed everything he loves and had neither Nene nor Tsukasa, and he himself asks to be exorcised.

Probably, only Kou will be left among all of these.

I only gave a few endings, there are many other possibilities.

It's definitely about time I make an intro post now I think

I'm The Biblioklept!! Or just Lio for short! I share a lot of fan art here in the hopes of making some people smile ^^ (I figure its the most useful AND fun thing to do with my art journey atm!!)

I'm pretty young (16) so my art probably isnt the highest quality (YET!!!! I HAVE ASPIRATIONS), but this blog gives me a lot of motivation to improve!

As stated in my bio I make fan art for Wings of Fire, Little Nightmares, Spy x Family, The Magnus Archives, TBHK, and Fraggle Rock. I tend to switch up the fandom I draw for every week or couple of days, so if you like only one of the fandoms listed it probably wont be long for me to make content for it again :]!! I am also equally in love with each fandom so it's very veryyy unlikely for me to drop one randomly. Fraggle Rock is the one with the least art at the moment though, unfortunately.

I love asks and would appreciate any sketch requests! I feel like it was some sort of jealousy or hate towards Hanako, maybe disgust? Idk what it was exactly (outside of negative connotations) but I also found it extremely amusing.

I feel like Hanako would have a few different reactions depending how short you cut it

For writing purposes, let's say that you get your first FTM haircut (again, you may imagine it how you would like, I'm doing FTM because there ain't a lot of those out there)

He'd need you to explain to him what exactly being trans means-

It'd take him a moment but then he'd understand...for the most part

He really likes your new haircut because then he can scruff it up a bit like an old man would do to his grandson

If anyone ever said something transphobic or you ever felt dysphoric, he'd be there ready to either kick the other person's ass or your dysphoria's

Overall very supportive but might mess up every once in a while (he's trying and that's all that matters <3)

She'd be quite shocked to say the least

She'd be very supportive tho!

She'd ask to mess with it if you felt comfortable with that, maybe and to see if you will let her try different styles for it (depending on how short you cut it)

100% respectful of your pronouns and name of you'd want her to refer to you as such

If someone says something that is transphobic, she will use the broadcasting as a way to get revenge
