I have two conflicting headcanons.

Mitsuba is actually a really good singer, and Kou plays the drums. Together, they make music and Kou begs Nene to learn the guitar so he and Mitsuba wouldn't have to

Mitsuba's singing sounds like a screechy dying rat, but he refuses to admit it, saying somebody as cute as him could never have a bad voice

Mitsuba lives under the Percy Jackson blue food rule, in which he attempted to eat nothing but pink food for 24 hours.

12 hours in, he complained to Kou that life sucked and he was miserable and there was nothing pink to eat around the house anymore and "ughhhhhh help me I'm dyinggggg"

I have this little headcanon.

I’ve been thinking about it a lot recently because I was listening to Ed Sheeran, and I couldn’t get mitsukou out of my head, no matter what. So I thought, “what if kou played the guitar?” AND NOW IM CONVINCED KOU PLAYS THE GUITAR AND MITSUBA SINGS. THEY HAVE LITERALLY JUST SAT DOWN TOGETHER AND SUNG LINE WITHOUT A HOOK TOGETHER OR SOMETHING. And whenever this happens, mitsuba is bright red at the beginning but then slowly gets into it. Like it’s their thing. Whenever mitsuba is feeling sad or something (when he’s alive), kou would just pull out his guitar to make mitsuba feel better. Kou has no clue how much better it makes mitsuba feel, because he’s always been an oblivious dork. (But that’s the great part about kou)
