Idk why I'm posting this rn when I'm barely awake and have a headache but I've been thinking about this ever since I watched the newest Bad Batch episode and I need to talk about it

This moment. This fucking moment probably stood out to me more than anything in this episode

And the reason this stands out is cuz this ENTIRE episode, we've been seeing a brand new side of Wrecker, and that side is him being fucking PISSED. Sure he's gotten annoyed or whatnot for a bit before but here he was consistently fired up, until the last second of course, when the Marauder is finally recovered. Of course its easy to assume he's just cranky from being out of rations and stuck on that planet, and sure thats part of it, but thinking it's surface level like that? Is doing a MASSIVE disservice to his character. Like come on.

We know Wrecker. We know that, other than Omega of course, he has the biggest heart on the team, caring so deeply for others, and we know that he wears his emotions outwardly, more than anyone else. He's not just so mad cuz he's hangry. The Marauder was their home, like Omega said earlier, and thats exactly why he's so mad about it being taken.

Which brings me back to this lil moment. This sweet, beautiful little moment where he's looking down at Lula for a bit, and then looks into the distance for a little longer. I watch this moment, and I can't help but wonder what precisely is going on in his head. It's such an amazing, lovely little moment of introspection, where I'm sure he's reflecting on everything they just went through, and wondering about everything that could have possibly gone worse. This just genuinely seems like him lifting the weight that was the fear of losing the Marauder off his chest. It's him taking a calm breath again for the first time since the ship was taken. It's him telling himself, things are better now. A lot of other things have been taken or lost, but this is something they were able to get back.

Listen, he's just never given ANY thoughtful little moments so this one especially I have latched onto and dont wanna let go. LOOK AT HIM 😭💖😭💖💖

Ruby

Is Ruby a close relative to a varactyl?

She's very small and cute looking but we have no context for knowing if she’s a baby or just a small animal. We know that Muchi is still young and that she’s going to grow up to be a full sized and ferocious looking rancor.

Ruby is scaly looking and has very similar feet, but she only has 3 toes per foot not 5.

Her colouring is very similar with the greener body and blue around the head and shoulders, but it’s hard to tell for certain if the area around her head is supposed to be feather or scales, or even a combination of the two.

But I'm not about to rule out the possibility that she could grow up into something that looks very similar to this:

The Bad Batch and Watching a Sunset (TBB x GN!Reader)

Summary: Sunsets can be pretty romantic and the Batch enjoy watching them with you.

Warnings: None. All fluff!

Hunter

Hunter has convinced himself he isn’t much of a romantic, but you know different. Whenever the team finds a safe planet for a few days, he never misses a chance to watch the sunset by your side. With the sun gradually descending, he’ll prepare a dinner outdoors and chat with you, sharing jokes and opinions on trivial topics. Once you’re finished, he will lovingly cradle you in his lap as you watch the day depart.

During one memorable trip, Tech enthused all day about a rare sky phenomenon that graced the planet during sunset once every hundred cycles. Eager to share the experience with you, Hunter set out cushions by the ship, and invited you to join him. With his legs on either side of your hips and his arms tightly wrapped around your middle, you settled to watch the display. The sun set in a blaze of lilac and jade hues, and as the last arc of sunlight slipped below the horizon, the sky burst into a kaleidoscope of colours, translucent waves fluttering like a celestial blanket. In a moment of heightened awareness, Hunter told you to watch and pointed out a cluster of birds just before they emerged from the trees. You jokingly called him a show-off, but you wouldn’t trade being by his side for anything else in the galaxy. 

Echo

Echo gets a little fussy when you both watch a sunset, but only because he wants you to be comfortable and most places outside lack suitable seating. When you nestle your head on his shoulder and draw nearer, he eases a bit and relishes the tranquillity of your shared time. You rarely get time to stop and enjoy some peace, so when you do, he savours every moment. 

While watching one sunset, Echo recounted what they were like on Kamino. When the rain ceased and the clouds dispersed enough to make out the horizon, it was like watching a ruby drop into the water. Tiny and unimportant to most, but he found solace in it. No matter what happened, suns would always rise and fall and rise again. Rather like him. His peaceful expression captivated you, the lines near his eyes barely creased and the calm in his hazel eyes holding you spellbound. It was a rare sight, and you made a conscious effort to soak in every aspect. When you asked him to tell you more, he vividly recalled the strange weather he had witnessed and the funny situations it had caused, often involving lost brothers and their antics. Cuddling him again, you listened to his tales, the sun long gone and the stars lingering to listen too. 

Wrecker

Wrecker is an expert at savouring sunsets and turns them into memorable evenings. He plans everything thoroughly, carefully selecting your favourite snacks and drinks, and arranging a cosy nest of blankets and pillows for the two of you. His primary goal is to lavish you not only with a picturesque scene but also with immense love and adoration that those quiet moments are perfect for. 

One evening after an early dinner, Wrecker placed a blindfold over your eyes and carefully led you into the sparse copse close to where you landed. When he removed the fabric, a wave of awe washed over you. Dimmed lanterns gently swung between the boughs. As you approached the bank of the lake, you noticed a delightful arrangement of blankets and cushions, and a food hamper. He had even scattered vibrant petals around the area too. He gently grasped your hand and settled you down, pulling you close as the sun started to descend, all the while whispering words of love in your ear. You both spent the night there, sleeping in each other’s embrace until daylight broke again.

Crosshair

The first time you and Crosshair experienced a sunset together, it happened spontaneously. While hauling supply crates into the ship, you paused for a moment to witness the sky change. Noticing you’d stopped, Crosshair asked what you’d seen, thinking there was danger, but he relaxed a little once you explained you were merely fascinated by the way the sunlight cut through the trees. He couldn’t comprehend why some were so captivated by it, but you seemed to relish it, so he watched a little longer. The sunsets after that, you would sit in solitude, taking in the impressive sight. Eventually Crosshair joined you, secretly revelling in the way his surroundings grew calm. There were no loud noises or screams, or frightful sprints back to the ship. Everything was perfectly quiet.

Seated in a shaded spot and watching the bright star dip one peaceful evening, he began to talk. He knew you were curious about certain parts of his past, and he assured you that you were free to ask whatever you wanted. He’d answer honestly, no detail spared or horror held back. You caught the vulnerability in his voice and didn’t want to pry, but when you glanced up at him, you could see he wanted to tell you; he just needed a bit of prompting. So you asked him everything you had ever wondered, every brief allusion he had ever made to the dark patches in his past. True to his word, he opened up. With each sunset you witnessed together, he would divulge more, disclosing personal details that even his brothers didn’t know about and dismantling the emotional fortress he had built around himself. 

Tech

When it comes to Tech, observing a sunset is initially approached as a scientific study. Every planet he visits, he positions himself at the best vantage point, datapad in hand as he records the angle of the descent, the trajectory, the variation in hues, and cross-references it with data from other planets. He will talk while he observes, explaining exactly what he’s doing to fill the silence between you. Your one-sided conversations often end with him rambling for some time, not that you mind. You can see the joy radiating from him as he indulges in it. But there’s a small part of you that wants nothing more than to nestle into his arms and watch it together. Over time, he notices small subtle cues that you aren’t enjoying the sunsets as much as he is, and after confiding in Wrecker, he realises why. 

The next sunset was one you wouldn’t forget soon. You joined Tech as usual, plonking yourself down on the makeshift bench as the twin suns chased each other towards the eastern horizon. Fiery hues blended in the middle and the sky and began to burn gold, clouds and birds fleeing the impending night. For the first time since you can remember, Tech was not engrossed in the streams of information filtering through his datapad. In fact, you couldn’t see it anywhere on his person. He encircled his arms around your shoulders and brought you close to him. Instead of offering facts, he commented on the breathtaking beauty of the sunset and how he cherished the opportunity to experience it with you.

A/N: Thank you! I hope this is close to what you wanted. I'm trying, really hard, to keep these under 1000 words, and so far I'm managing it! I hope you like it! This takes place sometime during the first season of TBB.

You’re lucky.

The fall of the Republic didn’t affect you, personally, in any massive way. Your job remains secure, and you’re not in any danger of losing your job in spite of the regime change. 

Luckily, the new Emperor has little care as to what a massive magazine does…so long as it continues to focus on wildlife and natural landscapes. And, as a wildlife photographer, you didn’t even need to get a minor talking to, unlike some of your co-workers who often interview people.

So you’re able to continue on as you are. On the private ship that you personally own, traveling the galaxy to take pictures of natural wonders and wildlife.

That said, the fall of the Republic was…awful.

The death of the Jedi is a tragedy that even you don’t have the ability to put into words. 

But your grief is nothing compared to the grief of your boyfriend.

You shift in bed, rolling over to cast your gaze over the hunched over form of Rex. He’s sitting at your desk, his gaze locked on the datapad in front of him, and you hope he’s not watching more news stories about the Purge.

Slowly you sit up, the thick blanket you prefer pooling around your waist as you watch him push his fingers through his hair. He’s let it grow out slightly, it’s now long enough that he can push his fingers through it.

“Rex?” You keep your voice light, “It’s late, why don’t you come to bed?”

“In a bit, cyare.” His voice is rough as he answers, and you frown at his back as you pull your knees up and rest your arms on them.

You should be patient with him. He lost so much…but you fear that he’s in danger of losing himself if he doesn’t take a break. Your gaze flickers to the side, as you try to come up with a way to help him.

Absently, you rub your fingers over the thick material of the shirt you’re wearing, one of his shirts, and then you pause. You look down at the material as half an idea starts to form. 

You kick the blanket off your legs, and swiftly peel the shirt off, leaving you totally naked, and then you stand and walk over to him, your arms sliding around his broad shoulders as you press a light kiss against his neck. 

He sighs, one of his scarred hands coming up to press against your bare arm, “Cyare-”

“You have been working, nonstop, for days.” Your voice is soft, “Am I to watch you work yourself to death, love?”

“...I’m sorry.”

“I know you are.” You kiss his neck again, and then you feel his fingers trailing against your arms, and you lean over slightly to get a look at his face, he looks, adorably, puzzled.

“Weren’t you wearing a shirt?”

“I was.” You reply lightly, “I decided that the best way to get you to take some time for us was to lose it.”

He spins the chair and his dark eyes scan your body, even in the dim light there’s still enough for him to make out all of the detail. Rex tilts his head back, a look of hunger on his handsome face, “I suppose I have been ignoring you,” He murmurs as he pulls you down to straddle one thigh. 

“Only a little,” You reply lightly.

He lazily grinds you down against his thigh, before ghosting his fingers up your sides, “Are you going to give me a show, cyare?”

“Is that what you want?” You ask in turn.

Rex chuckles and pulls you into a deep, passionate, kiss. “Go on, angel. Show me what I’ve been missing.”

So in my rewatch of tbb, I noticed something in infested…

Ruby makes different animal noises and such, and I noticed that one of them sounded like the terrible terror audio used in Rise of Berk at around 10:55 in the episode. Please someone go listen to it and tell me I’m not crazy 😭

TBB Season Three Episode 2 (Spoiler)

Hunter and Wrecker aren’t playing games anymore. It’s go time and they want Omega back!

I want Hemlock dead now! He let young cadets die in an orbital bombardment, and only three lived because they escaped in time. And all because one of his multiple experiments went haywire again!

Deke, Mox and Stak probably aren’t even teenagers yet and they just witnessed a massacre of their brothers with older clone troopers leaving them for dead. Thank goodness for Hunter and Wrecker being there when they needed them and now they can be *mostly* safe at Pabu. They need the therapy and be near good people for what they’ve been through.

Also, I think Roland knew it was Omega who they were looking for. He saw she wasn’t there and connected the dots, and he even hoped they find her when they left. Roland might be ruthless, but considering how kind Omega was to him and Ruby, he probably has a soft spot for Omega.

Every time I watch TBB, I become more and more convinced that Omega is force sensitive

Like in the first episode: she knew crosshair was approaching before the doors to the landing bay even opened

And when they rescued Ruby, the little bird-lizard creature, she knew her name before they even returned her to her owner. Wrecker even says “You named that thing?” while they were still en route to Cid’s

There is no way in any celestial or earthly plane that she is not force sensitive
