I finished this book series and listen I’m not on booktok so I didn’t even know what this book was I was literally walking around at Barns and nobels for mangas cuz I’m a little nerd and I saw this book called hate by Tate James and like I thought “oh seems interesting” I read it and I fucking fell in love with it like actually I’m SOBBING over the fact that I finished the whole series like I was having dreams about the characters and all this shit like yall have no idea how heartbroken i am that i read it so fast. It’s a booktok book like the dark romance type shit and I did have to take some mental pauses but holy fuck☹️

2022 has been an amazing year in books for me. It’s been so hard to narrow down favourites because I’ve honestly loved every book in different ways.

Here are some of my favourite reads from each month.

Looking forward to 2023 - lots of exciting new releases due as well as my ever growing to be read list! It’s going to be another amazing year I have no doubt!

[Book Review] Broken Legacy

Dark Legacy #3 by Jaymin Eve & Tate James

Surprisingly I quite liked the third book in this series, maybe because the second book was too bad? that's why i quite like Broken Legacy.

—my review: overall: ⭐ 3.4/5 plot: ★★★☆☆½ female lead: ★★★☆☆ male lead: ★★★☆☆ side characters: ★★★☆☆

the only thing i think is unnecessary is the rose serial killer, i dont think it has anything to do with the main problem? maybe to lengthen the book since i think the third book is quite short. other than that, I am quite satisfied with how this book is ended, not long-winded, there is tension and interesting scenes when fighting DELTA.

I am also happy with the development of the relationship between the fl and her biological father in this book. most importantly, the fl character here also has development, not as naive, weak and dumb as the previous two books, here she is braver, stronger and dares to fight. if I could erase my memory of the second book, of course I would love Riley and the other four heirs, Sebastian, Dylan, Jasper and Evan.

Overall I wouldn't recommend this series, but thanks to Broken Legacy at least I don't hate this series (although I still and will always hate the second book).
