Anyways, This is Gaiās current team for the forseeable future.
Genma has been removed for crimes of evolving into a non-fighting type Pokemon. These are crimes that cannot be forgiven so heās sitting in the corner thinking about what he did.
And yes, i know
āBut Taryn, Tenten isnāt a fighting type!ā
Sheās an exception and you bet your ass sheās gonna be like the special gym Pokemon whoās not actually originally a part of the gym leaderās type selection, but tera transforms into their type.
Tentenād getting the fighting Tera typing no matter hiw many fighting type tera raids i have to do to get it š”š”š”
Also, did she replace Kisame? Yes.
He was no longer needed and iām not even sorry cuz at this point Kakashiās carrying the team (Gai has a clear Bias XD)

High Adventure Trucking with U.S. 1 - README, Q&A & Notes
Thank you for downloading this set, and for even considering playing this strange little fan-made expansion for Legendary Marvel. I realize that there's a lot of stuff here, but I've done everything I can to make this set worth all the time, hassle, and printer ink required to give your gaming group a memorable experience playing through the story of one of Marvel's stranger back-road adventures.
Let's get the details out of the way.
First, hereās a link to all the cards. I may add these to this Tumblr later, but for now you can grab the cards here: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2859945/high-adventure-trucking-us-1-resleeved-project-2
This set contains:Ā
- 5 Heroes: Ulysses S. Archer, Taryn O'Connell, Razorback, Al the Alien, and Devil Rig & Hell-Driver.
- 1 Mastermind: The Highwayman
- 1 Adapting "Cargo" Mastermind: Jobber
- 2 Villain groups: Highwayman's Agents and Heaven's Devils M.C.
- 2 Henchmen groups: Blimp Nazis and Dust Up At The Short Stop
- 1 Bystander group: 2 each of Wide Load Annie, Poppa Wheelie, Retread, and Mary McGrill
- 5 "Hauling" Schemes
- 1 Standard Scheme
- 4 Cargo groups: Crates, Finger Lickin' Chicken, Dynamite, and Special Deliveries
- 4 Rules cards
- 4 Optional Content cards
- 1 Giant-Sized Double Issue Divider
There's also a playlist for setting the mood. (Feel free to modify it, copy it on another streaming service, or to create your own.) Here's the link:Ā
https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-o3dF3RjvIMWmW7tKkobdTPMWwAMKWXk&feature=share
There are a total of 24 page layouts for easy printing. (An entire expansion set for the cost of 24 color pages? Not bad!)
Before we get into "What were you thinking?" part of this document, let's first answer a few basic technical questions.
Q: What do I need to play this expansion set?
A: Just the Legendary Marvel Core set, with all cards in sleeves. You'll also need 24 sheets of standard copy paper (I recommend 20lb weight) and access to a color printer, a pair of good scissors (or a paper cutter), and a free evening to cut and sleeve everything. I realize this is a lot, but I've also done everything in my power to create a truly fun and innovative fan-made game expansion that is absolutely worth the hassle.
Q: How Do I Use These Cards?
A: These cards are meant to be printed in color on normal printer paper. They should print correctly on most inkjet printers, but some printers will recommend "Fit to page size" or other size-reducing options to make them print without cropping, and it shouldn't harm anything to do this. Cut them out, slip them into sleeved Legendary cards, and you're ready to play. I've sized these inserts at 63mm by 82mm, so they should fit neatly inside most penny sleeves.
Q: What are "sleeved" cards?
A: Excellent question. The easiest way to play fan content for Marvel Legendary is to place inexpensive plastic playing card protectors -- also known as "penny sleeves" -- on all of your cards. This not only protects your cards against damage, it also allows you to slide custom cards into the sleeves with cards you're not currently using. Penny sleeves can be bought anywhere, and you're looking for the size used for Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon cards. Generally speaking, these cards are 64mm by 89mm, but this can vary by manufacturer. You will need about 500 penny sleeves for the base Marvel Legendary set. There are many, many options for sleeves, but for a good mix of price and durability, I like Pro Support's Premium Ultra Clear. At the time of writing, you can get a set of 400 from Amazon for around $20. This does add additional costs to the game, but it also opens up a new world of gameplay options, in addition to protecting your cards. You can shuffle sleeved cards easily (look up riffle shuffling), and it doesn't take long to get used to the feel.
Q: Can I play these Heroes in any Scheme? Do they all have to be used together?
A: These Heroes are designed to be as balanced as possible against the Core set and the Dark City expansion. Each of them would be a viable and interesting addition to any game. While playing them together in this set is suggested, and will give you some advantages in the included schemes, any combination of Heroes can win Hauling Schemes.
Q: What are Cargo cards and Hauling Schemes?
A: These are unique mechanics designed for this set's themes. These mechanics are explained on their Scheme cards and on the Cargo Rules cards. Any set of Heroes can play and win these schemes ā trucking is a job for everyone, after all ā but the included Heroes are specifically designed with these rules in mind.
Q: What's a Cargo Mastermind?
A: It's a Mastermind that can only be "defeated" through the use of Move Cost discards. It's all explained on the rules cards.
Q: What's up with the purple R on the top right of each card?
A: I'm calling this series of fan expansions the "Resleeved Project." These sets are all going to share a certain game design sensibility, and they will be building on shared gameplay ideas that exist outside of the standard game. That purple circle tells players that they're playing cards from the same weirdo fan-content designer that made the expansion about that trucker superhero.
What the Resleeved branding isn't is any form of copyright claim. I obviously don't own anything here. All copyright and trademark stuff belongs to their actual owners. I'm just making little gameplay art pieces from 40-year old comic books here, and I'm only doing it for fun.
Q: What about this conflict with another keyword or rule?
A: This set assumes that you have access to Upper Deck's official rules, which are available for free on their website. There are also many great fan-compiled rule cheat sheets for keywords and rules. Where possible, I've tried to use relatively common mechanics and keywords, and to explain the effect on the card itself. This is a fan-made set, and it's entirely possible that not all official sets and rules will be compatible with this set's unique mechanics. If there's a conflict, go with your gut. It's what Ulysses S. Archer would do.
Now, onto the bigger "Why" part of his Q&A:
Q: Why did you make this set? Are you a U.S. 1 ultra-fan or something?
A: Not exactly. U.S. 1 is a legitimately fun read, but my larger goal here was to introduce some new and unlikely characters, villains, and schemes into the Legendary Marvel ecosystem. It's an expansion for Marvel fans, and it was designed and tested by Marvel fans. This set introduces two new gameplay elements -- Cargo and Hauling -- to provide new ways to play the game. I'll be riffing on this concept in future sets, but I wanted to introduce it with this specific setting.
Q: What does Cargo and Hauling change about the base game?
A: The Hauling mechanic shifts the incentives of the gameplay. Players now have a much stronger reason to keep Villains from escaping the city, and they have another way to use the cards in their hand during play. There's more risk and reward, and more to focus on than just clearing a path to the Mastermind. Now, you're trying to actively stop the Mastermind's minions from enacting a plan -- hijacking Cargo -- in real time.
Q: Is this set compatible with the rest of Legendary?
A: It should be fully compatible in both directions. U.S. 1 Heroes and Villains are usable in any game, and any Hero or Villain set can play a Hauling Scheme. The only exception to this is Jobber, a Hauling-specific Adapting Mastermind who wouldn't work (or make sense) in a non-Hauling context. There should be no mechanical reason that this set would be incompatible with any Legendary set, although it's entirely possible that some official cards and schemes will have unexpected consequences that functionally break the game.
Q: I found a rule or card effect that breaks the game. Now what?
A: That's inevitable, and it's half the fun of playing this kind of fan content. I've done the best I can through many rounds of revision and playtesting, but there will definitely be glitches. Work around it as best you can. If you find a way to fix it, award yourself a No Prize! (Also, let me know about the problem and your fix for it by leaving a comment on the BoardGameGeek.com forum thread.)
Q: What's up with the folding divider/playlist thing?
A: It's a DIY divider to help you keep your U.S. 1 card inserts organized. I thought it was a fun idea, and it was a good place to put a track listing and a silly optional rule for making this more of a 1980s truck-driving gameplay experience.
Q: What's up with the playlist?
A: It's a set of songs to get you in the mood to play a song about hauling cargo across the city while Villains try to steal it from you. It's also a serious early-to-mid 1980's road trip vibe, I think. (It's also the soundtrack to the "U.S. 1" MCU movie that took shape in my head as I made this set. See below.) Give it a listen, and you'll get why I added it.
General Q&A about U.S. 1 and the various comics it's based on:
Q: What exactly am I looking at here?
A: "U.S. 1" was a 12-issue 1983 Marvel Comics, produced under a license with toymaker Tyco Toys. The 1970s trucking fad was already dying out, and Tyco was trying to get some kind of traction to move their US-1 line of big rig-themed electric slot cars. Marvel was already doing a lot of licensed toy comics -- ROM, Micronauts, Team America (originally meant to be Evel Knievel toys), and G.I. Joe, just to name a few -- so it probably wasnāt as weird at the time as it seems 40-plus years later. The result was the U.S. 1 comic.
Q: Why is he a trucker?
A: In the late 1970s, truckers and CB radio lingo were all over pop culture. "Smokey & The Bandit" and the C.W. McCall novelty song "Convoy" are just two examples of this weird moment in pop culture. There were hundreds of trucking-themed things -- movies, songs, magazines, TV shows -- in the late 1970s and early 1980s. In a way, U.S. 1 is kind of the bookend of that fad.
Q: Isn't U.S. 1 a notoriously bad comic book?
A: It certainly has that reputation. It's more a "What audience was this book supposed to be for?" kind of publication. If you can meet the series on its own terms, however, it's a lot of fun. It has some great characters, some solid B-movie dialog, and a plot that is gloriously unpredictable from issue to issue. If you find the idea interesting, it's definitely worth reading.
Not convinced? What if I told you that it was written by Al Milgrom ā the West Coast Avengers guy ā and it has art by the likes of one-time comics industry giants Steve Ditko, Herb Trimpe, and Frank Springer. Is it any one of those creatorsā best work? Absolutely not. But they are clearly having a lot of fun with this decidedly silly premise. One of the big bads is a knock-off Kaiser Wilhelm with a blimp full of cosplay nazis, so itās not exactly trying to be dark and brooding story about the nature of evil. Itās a goofy comic made from a licensed property that has no business being as entertaining as it actually is.
Q: Is this game going to be worth my time?Ā
A: Yes, but only if you're curious about answering the question "What does it mean to have a high-adventure trucking experience within the Legendary system?" No one else was asking that question, so I made this set. Give it a try. I think you'll be stunned at how much it adds to the base game.
Q: Can you tell me more about the playlist?
A: You have no idea how glad I am that you asked that. Let's assume that you're never going to read the U.S. 1 comics, and kind of just want to have a decent vibe for game night that vaguely ties into the trucking theme. This is my version of that playlist.
If you want some liner notes about why each track was included, however, I have that too. The playlist tells the story. (Or this expansion's version of it, at least.)
Also, Iād like to give a special Thank You! to everyone in the Legendary Marvel fan community. The resources and creativity shared by that group is truly an inspiration, and it played a huge part in me deciding to make this decidedly strange little expansion set.

March Calendar Recap
I meant to do this yesterday, totally. Completely... didnāt.
Tis under the cut so as not to clog up peopleās dashes on mobile :)Ā
Mar 1-We took the pets to the vet. The dog loved it. The cat? Not so much.Ā
I also fixed Hero Lab! Finally someone came out with a patch for modern stuff!Ā
I made good shrimp. Not sure what I did, but I made good shrimp. Maybe it was that lemon butter recipe?
Mar 2-We were out and about.Ā I had good Bang Bang shrimp at this place called Boneheads. It was good.Ā
I also purged computer cables. Things that we donāt need anymore. Thereās a whole box full ofĀ āem. Of course, the box then proceeded to sit in the trunk of the car for three weeksĀ ācause weād completely forgotten about it. It worked out though because as it turns out, we needed the spare modem. The box is still sitting in the gym/spare room atm and I need to take it to be gotten rid of.Ā
I also wrote 3k words of Rinnie and Tarynās date-not-date thing.Ā
Mar 3-I flew to Monroeville. It was a good flight, a little bit turbulent. But a good flight.
We rolled DnD characters this afternoon. I was so excited. LiterallyĀ āRolled DnD charries! Iss gonna be so good!ā Basically, I rolled this tiny but fierce human technomancer, except it wasnāt magic, it was purely scifi based. I forget what she was called though. Uh... *looks at character sheet* Technosavant. There we go.
Mar 4-I wrote a lot!Ā
I called Al aĀ āroyal bastardā in DA:O (again.) I do this every time.
We went to a place called the Tin Cow for dinner. I had a peanut butter cup alcoholic milkshake. :)
Mar 5-I caught a Party Hat Pikachu! Heās so cute!Ā
DnD was so good! I blew up some sprinklers, got into a hack battle, very good. We unfortunately derailed the DM from all of his plans, but I still had fun. We had tentative plans to meet back up and do a round two, but that never happened :(
Mar 6-I ran really fast on my run. I wrote a new Adler/Riela scene. I forget which one this was though. Idk, it was good though Iām sure.
I plotted a scenario for Rinnie to see swordplay :):):)
I called rar because her amiibo came in. Woot woot!
Mar 7-Gave Riela some more rough edges. Ah yes, this scene!! I know which one Iām talking about here :P
Iāve been watching my bf play the new Torment game. I love Callistege.Ā
Mar 8-Due to unfortunate circumstances, Amazon did not send me BOTW on time. So I went to Gamestop and bought it there.Ā āI keep dying??? Itās fun though.ā Iām pretty sure right after I got the game I jumped off a cliff and died. Then fell out of a tree and died again. Then... etc. :P
I wrote a Mica scene and officially finished Draft 2 Part 1!!
Mar 9-I finally figured out how to cook in BOTW. That could have been more intuitive...Ā
I started Part 2 and rounded out my Rinnie introspection.
I watched London Has Fallen--itās a good movie!
Mar 10-Me and my bf went to Panama City and got massages. We also went around on the beach. It wasnāt fantastic weather though, unfortunately. But we spent most of the day together.
Mar 11-I was sick this day :( The good news is that I got to play BOTW p much all day.
Mar 12-More Breath of the Wild.
Mar 13-We drove out to Destin in the hopes of having a good day on the beach... only for it to be raining. So we got Dunkin Donuts and came back.Ā
We were then gonna go shooting, but our cat got sick so that took up our afternoon.
We stayed up late though re-going over the Nidtrin interactions with Rinnieās parents and some more stuff with Rinnie, so that was nice!
Mar 14-Went back to Destin since the weather was better. The boardwalk was pretty nice. Honestly, I caught a lot of Pokemon heh. We also had McGuires for lunch and volcano shrimp for dinner. I WAS SO STUFFED!
Then we fleshed out more history of Tyrysius (the world in the book.)
Mar 15-We finally named Pre-Droggar: Efrium. Sheesh. That makes things easier finally.
We also went shooting. I need to practice more. But with what time :/
Mar 16-The Freaking Dog went and busted his nose escaping the gate. Had to take him to the vet so he could get it super-glued back together. Gah.Ā
But then we went out to World of Beer, OāRileyās and a Whiskey Bar :)
Mar 17-Lego Batman was awesome.
Mar 18-My birthday started out with cinnamon rolls and bacon. I played BOTW all morning. Then we went to Flounders for dinner, where I got surf, turf, a Bushwacker, and some good bread. It was a bit windy though, making it cold. Then I wrote when I got home :)
Also, I had peanut butter cup cupcakes :)
Mar 19-Went on a dolphin sunset cruise with my gf :)
Mar 20-Moving stage one: Pack it up and load it. Got firehouse subs for dinner :) Drove to Atlanta. Got to listen to Skin Game on audiobook.
Mar 21-Got into the new town. The hotel was nice.
Mar 22-Looked at houses. Unfortunately, our favorite one didnāt allow cats :( And the cell service is shit once you get off the freeway :((
Mar 23-Unload ALL the things. Went to a place called Ducks for dinner... it was ... good... but expensive.
Mar 24-Ā āYou donāt go to Dennyās. You end up at Dennyās when itās 6:34 in the morning and IHOP doesnāt open until 7ā³
Drive. All. Day. Ā
Mar 25-Cleaned all the things. Picked up the pets from boarding.Ā
I played KH2. Woot re-killing Larxene and Zexion.Ā
I also played BOTW. Yay Ritos!
I wrote about pirates!
Mar 26-Played more BOTW, did the Medoh dungeon.
I played KH2, and got my butt handed to me by Roxas. Repeatedly.
I wrote Micaās escape!
Mar 27-I played DAO. Itās SOOOOO broken. Clipping and glitching in Redcliffe. Epic battle music when there were no enemies. Stenās dialogue is nonexistent.Ā
Mar 28-Wrote Adler and Riela obnoxiously flirting, THAT was fun :P
I also had a pretty good workout.
Mar 29-Leg day BURNED~! Gosh my legs hurt lol.Ā
Played BOTW and got Revaliās gale thingy. Also decided he sounds like Axel, even though the VAās not the same.Ā
I finished a Mica scene.
Mar 30-I wrote an AWESOME Adler and Riela scene.Ā
I played DAO and stormed Redcliffe castle.
I found Vault Dweller on Steam... time... wasting...
Also, I discovered that maybe my timeline issue towards the end of the book is solved? I may have accidentally miscalculated the days on my initial read-through and I may actually be fine now that Iām filling specific events into Google Calendar.Ā
Mar 31-Opened up 2 towers and did a few shrines in BOTW. Pretty much just explored all day and ignored all responsibilities :P

Gaiās Legends Arceus Adventures
The team hasnāt really changed much since yesterday. We still have three solid fighters (Kakashi, Dai and Shizune), Two shineyās (Inoichi and Shibi) and a very loyal tortoise (Ningame)
Shibi and Inoichi will probably not be permanent members, but while they are on the team they will be going through the same training regime as all the other pokemon
They might be wishing they werenāt on the team XD
As for Gai, he actually got some shit done today that didnāt just focus on the Pokedex
Of course he did work on research, and heās being a bit of a sore loser because Kakashi made up for yesterdayās shiny catching competition loss by filling out 56 entries in his notbook while Gai only gor 55 (gai thinks itās not enough but the professor is loving both of their contributions equally)
The main thing he did today though was quelling his second frenzied Pokemon
Gai has decided he wants to quell the frenzied Pokemon without battling if possible, which sounds like a great idea except Kakashi has to yank him out of the way of the frenzied Pokemonās attack at one point because Poor Gai was dazed taking a hit
He made it through without battling though and created a new bond of friendship with liligant, which he has just realized is a fighting type Pokemon.
He sort of wants to add one to the team, but Kakashi already covers the āgrass/fightingā section. Two might be a bit much
Heāll have to see what other fighting type options he has :)
#Pokemon au#Taryn plays Pokemon#this went from āoh iāll play a fun game as Gai :)ā to āoh iām gonna make it a mini story!ā#and i kinda dig it

Gaiās Pokemon Legends Arceus Adventure
Today Gai got a lot done. He caught the third member of his all fighting team (he has yet to name them) and completed so many research tasks that the prefessor is starting to wonder if he should just ask him and Kakashi to do all the work (ok, and Rin, but seriously since Obito left theyāre the only oneās who get anything done it seems)
He achieved the ranking of a Five Star member of the survey corps :) the second highest rank, right behind Kakashi who achieved Six Stars
How Kakashi achieved that is beyond Gai. Heās oretty sure they went everywhere together
Heāll have to learn his Rivalās secrets to success and do better tomorrow :)
His Decidueye has arrived in its fully glory and he loves it. He also has been working on filling some Pokedex entries with non permanent members of the team. Heās not sure how heāll handle saying goodbye to Luxray, but it will be done
Even if he does cry a lot over it

Alright, adventure wise Gai now has
5/5 titanās defeated
4/5 team star bases defeated
7/8 gyms defeated
And needless to say the last gym and team star base he faced were not prepared for his over leveled pokemon (made especially funny since i did the fighting team star base second last, which is the strongest one)
But the best news?
Baby boy got himself a shiney doggo.
His boyfriends gonna be so jelouse, and he even named it after his boyfriends father š„°š„°š„°
Might have to get 100 fighting tera shards just to keep this one and tenten on the team, but weāll find out

Gai Pokemon Scarlett Playthrough
Gai finally got off of his training kick and went to go face the next gym leader andā¦ uhhā¦
Well, needless to say it was a cake walk XD
Asuma carried the team through to victory and also aided in training up two Pokemon that are not part of the official team but need to be evolved for the Pokedex :)
We also got a really lucky find with this little cutie while training in out breaks. It wasnāt even part of the outbreak and i almost walked right past it but got curious when Kakashi wouldnāt faint it.
Also, this is Gai and Asuma bondi ng time.
This is how i think they repaired their bond. A silly gym challenge that forced them to work together

Iām afraid Neji the Meditite fell in battle, exactly like the character he was named after. A sacrifice to protect a Pokemon i refused to lose (Sasuke the Luxio)

Pokemon Journey
I made it past the run killing duo (for the first time ever) and into Veilstone city. Then proceded to go into the gym and almost get murdered T.T
Thankfully all of my Pokemon made it out safely, but had to go back and do some more training.
On the plus side, Shizune (golbat) learned aircutter so now i have a better shot against this gym.
