Nothing fancy but here are my altars for Dionysus (top) and Aphrodite (bottom)

Last but not least, my Ares travel altar.

Apollo's altar is as extra as he is.

My Cthonic deity altar. It is typically visited by Melinoe and Hermes

Though the Cthonic altar is an elevated altar, which is not suitable for those deities and I am getting an urge (from Apollo I believe) to replace it.

I think that I may relocate his altar to where the spooky altar is.

However, with the quality of that shelf, it'll have fewer tarot decks.

I see so many people criticizing others over their relationships, or lack thereof, with their deities, so here are some reminders:

Not having deities is okay.

Having just a devotional relationship with your deities is okay.

Having a working relationship with your deities is okay.

Playing games with your deities is okay.

Harmless jokes with your deities are okay.

Doing fun things with your deities is okay.

Doing devotional offerings for your deities is okay.

Giving physical offerings to your deities is okay.

Not being able to do certain offerings for deities is okay.

Having an altar for your deities is okay, no matter the size.

Not having an altar for your deities is okay.

Laughing with your deities is okay.

Crying with your deities is okay.

Having genuine conversations with your deities is okay.

Being unable to hear/see deities is okay.

Being able to hear/see deities is okay.

Not being able to communicate through divination is okay.

Using divination as a key element in communication is okay.

Not calling on deities during spellwork is okay.

Asking deities to help during spellwork is okay.

Asking deities for help in general is okay.

This is your relationship with your deities in your practice. Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't do. 🫶

Rituals vs. Spell work: Understanding the Difference

When delving into the mystical realms of magick, it’s essential to grasp the distinctions between rituals and spell work. Let me illuminate these concepts:

Magical Practices (Spell work):

Definition: These are simple workings—everyday magics that don’t necessarily involve elaborate rituals.

Duration: They can take seconds to a couple of hours.

Intent: They have an intention, an end goal, and a magical act.

Examples: Taking a magical bath, divination (like tarot), reciting a spell, meditating, or lighting a candle.

Ritualistic Level: Not very ritualistic; no casting of circles or complex spells.

Rituals:

Definition: More elaborate magical works with structure and specific components.

Duration: Longer than practices due to their complexity.

Purpose: Assist in walking between worlds, raising significant energy.

Components: Often involve casting a circle, calling quarters/elements, and invoking spirits or deities.

Examples: Full moon rituals, spell bottles, transformative magics, protection spells.

Spells:

Definition: Spells consist of words or phrases with a specific intention.

Components: Usually involve words (or emojis) and focus on a desired outcome.

Purpose: To signify, relate, or talk—directing energy toward a goal.

A Message from Lady Aphrodite

Happy 4th of the month- Lady Aphrodite’s monthly birthday! As today is a day to celebrate Her, I like to do a reading where I ask Her some questions that relate to not just me, but Her worshippers in general.

Note: I do not use tarot often and am still learning, so the reading may not be entirely accurate. It also may not apply to everyone, as it’s a reading for Aphrodite worshippers in general.

What messages do you have for your devotees and worshippers?

Interpretation: You may be starting to realize that you cannot stay where you are forever, and are making a choice to move forward and forge your own path. You will need to work hard, harder than you may ever have worked before, but you will persevere. You may question why you’re even doing it, why you’re working so hard, but you need to remember that no matter how slow, progress is happening. The decision to even go on this journey will weigh on you a lot, whether it’s even worth it, but you need to give yourself permission to dream big, and to follow those dreams.

Interpretation: Aphrodite will be there when we make sacrifices for our future, there while we deal with consequences and difficult situations. She knows that patience is important, and your suffering will not be wasted, as good things will come soon.

My goal was to use everything I already owned - which I was able to do! The space looks kinda bare, but the point is that I want to grow into it. The only plan I have for it is to thrift some mix-matching small vases so that I can add fresh flowers when I want to.

It would be cool to add some artwork on the wall too!

My Apollo altar is just most of my tarot & Oracle decks arranged nicely with some angel candle holders (angels have a lyre & other instruments) using crates that Hermes had people leave at my apartment knowing that I'd need them.

It looks disorganised but I had Apollo help me place each deck accordingly so there's method to this divine madness 😅

A Message from Lady Aphrodite

As you may know, the fourth of the month is a day to honor Lady Aphrodite (among other gods). Just like last month, I will be doing a tarot reading asking Lady Aphrodite questions for anyone who reads this.

DISCLAIMER: I do not speak for Her in any way, shape, or form. I am simply asking questions and drawing tarot cards. I am still learning tarot, and my interpretations may not be very good, but l am trying. This reading may or may not apply to you, it is a general reading for the community shrine of Aphrodite.

What message do you have for your devotees and worshippers?

Interpretation: Some sort of setback or loss has occurred, and you may be in need of help. Though you know you should, fear and shame may be preventing you from asking for help. Patience and tolerance is needed to move forward. This could mean patience with yourself as you make mistakes and grow, or patience with others. You need to find ways to allow both your logical and emotional sides to work together. Though there has been a setback or loss, you need to find a way to move on and keep going. There is no changing the past and this event may affect you for a while still, but time only moves forward and you will get through this.

Interpretation: Lady Aphrodite can be found where you feel safe and protected. She sees that you have worked hard, and understands that you need to feel protected and safe. She wants you to know that She is always there for you, helping you to heal, grow, and feel safe.

Interpretation: You may need to spend some time focusing on yourself. Though connection is very important, time spent alone, focusing on you, who you are, and how you feel is also crucial. Focus on your thoughts and emotions and how they react to certain things. That could be really important to understanding yourself.
