You can see the moment Carlos realizes that this scared chaotic bunny of a man is actually proposing. He’s not catastrophising, he’s not panicking, he’s not even a little scared. He’s planning. TK the chronic spontaneous leap before you look disaster is planning his future. And the one thing he knows he wants, the one person he sees being there for the long haul? It’s you Carlos. He wants to be with you. Forever.

Okaaaay so Carlos is decorating when TK comes home bringing Carlos a guitar as a surprise anniversary gift.

This melts Carlos and he tells TK that he’s putting the case on hold because…

“Every second I get with you is a gift. And I’m done wasting it”

Can we stop with these false narratives of Carlos?

Carlos keeping a major secret about himself is majorly about the low self-esteem he carries and only an effect of his doubt that he wouldn't be accepted, which is completely consistent with his characterization, as well as for the purpose of exploring his childhood wounds (all of this applies the same with the baby talk).

Carlos did not abandon TK for the prioritization of Iris, even though that would be totally valid (because newsflash! she was a priority in that moment) in the midst of his oldest friend disappearing (who he definitely felt guilty for feeling like he abandoned her, that he just expressed 2 episodes prior).

Carlos wanting to have "all of TK's pieces" was valid, just as TK's desire to keep certain things solely for his sponsor, that Carlos comes to realize by the end of that episode.

Yes I DID spend the whole time reading chapter 3 of The Lovely April thinking that @ladytessa74 invented Frog and Toad and also a whole OC backstory for the author who is in fact a real person. Luckily I can now enjoy the stories for myself 😍 (Thank you Tessa!)

Anyway, Tessa knocked it out of the park yet again and I highly, highly recommend The Lovely April generally but especially chapter 3 for anyone processing ~*recent events*~
