The Naval Treaty, Part 2 of 4

Nepotism? In my old British government? It's more likely than you think.

A naval treaty, if you will. I'd be curious to know how the readers of the time reacted to the information here about French fleets and alliances with Italy and what not, cause it seems to be pretty important if true.

The chart is appreciated. I wonder if Watson had the original drawing of the chart published, or if he redrew it himself later on after all the time that has passed.

Maybe it was the wind? The back of the clerk's room looks out to the lane below, so maybe some wind blew in, rang the bell, and whooshed the original out the window.

Fun fact: shirt cuffs used to be quite disposable so people would make notes on them and detach them later. Link to the post where I learned this. This isn't even the only time Sherlock would write notes on his cuffs.

The commissionaire's wife seems pretty suspicious at the moment, running off at the same time the treaty disappeared. Or is it too suspicious, cause what sort of thief makes their presence known and runs away at the same time something is stolen. Then again, it's an old woman, so perhaps she's not that great a thief. Then again, it's an old woman, so why would she be a thief in the first place.

A real mystery, this one.

It's always nice when the client thinks ahead as much as Holmes does, at least in some instances.

Well there goes the wind theory. Unless of course the wind shut the window as it blew in and out, and the force of the window coming down caused it to fasten itself. Sherlock Holmes mysteries have had more obtuse answers than this one, is all I'm saying.

A modern Sherlock Holmes would be able to smell the different flavors of someone's vaping, and probably know the brand of vape, the amount, where it was bought, etc. A modern Sherlock Holmes would probably also vape himself.

I'm sure Watson knows very well that Phelps was a sensitive kid. After all, he had a hand in making him like that.

I love when Holmes acts out of character for Watson, cause it could mean any number of things, but rarely is it ever because he's actually changing his behavior as Watson presumes.

Honestly, I'd be pretty disappointed too if I were expecting a great mystery-solving detective and instead got a thirteenth century monk trying to pass the time between bad haircuts. Though obviously Holmes is doing this for some specific reason.

Holmes is such a mischievous character at times. There was no reason he had to pause after saying that. He knew what it sounded like, he just wanted to make fun.

This sounds like such a British way of saying you're in a fever. "Oh, I'll just be in a fever in the meanwhile, no hurry."

At least Phelps has no illusions about his being fired, even with an uncle in the government. If he were a worse person, I could see him crying about his dismissal because of his uncle's position.

Conclude? E-mail? I thought this was a four-part series of letters. Looks like Watson's catching up with the times in his old age.

I heavily recommend checking out Tangey's series, An Unhealthy Obsession, taking place in the Dialtown universe but primarily focusing on his characters. He is also the creator of Craig (patreon character) who appears in the actual Dialtown Game (Speed Dating Bar Segment).

The Fic trilogy + sequels like Aperture, is something I heavily recommend if you're into thriller, psychological horror, and wanting to dive deep into the characters lives. Part 1 of An Unhealthy Obsession is currently being rewritten!

I also recommend checking out Dialtown: Phone Dating Simulator created by @directdogman in which you can get on steam. If you're a huge fan of object heads, wacky humor, and unique characters with their own interesting (and down to earth) stories then this game is for you!

Another short story about a kid and his strange bird friend. Sequel to Separated which can be found here.

Months had passed since Tangey and Dorian had first met. They had gone back to what was once Dorian's house, gathered all that they could into a large duffle bag, and head out to see what they could do.

Aside from what they could get from their newfound friends, they fought tooth and nail for every possession they could gain from that day forward, and often participated in Pokemon battles for cash rewards so that they could afford basic necessities. Even with their own and their friends' successes in battle and a few additional friends Dorian had caught along the way, it was still rough. Then, the first change happened.

Tangey evolved, becoming what they called Tangeotto. A new fusion, one that was simply a Tangela combined with a Pidgeotto. This increased their success, and when they hit their next stumbling point it happened again, another evolution. Tangeotto became Tangeot, a fusion between a Tangrowth and a Pidgeot. Their ability to provide for their friend group increased even more, but then Dorian's other Pokemon began evolving as well.

Tangeot had worked themselves hard to help out, Dorian knew that, and that's what led to an idea that he had.

They both relaxed, sitting outside in Viridian forest where they had first met. Dorian breathed a contented sigh, leaning against his now much larger bird friend. He had told Reina and Hina that he wanted to go into the forest alone to have a chat with Tangeot, but he had not explained the same to his friend here with him.

Tangeot was the first to speak up. "Master, is there any particular reason we seem to be away from our friends? Is it simply for a bit of reminiscing here in the forest."

Dorian looked up at the bird, tilting his head as they spoke. "Tangeot, you don't have to call me that. You can just call me Dorian, we're friends."

"I will continue to do so as a sign of respect. However, I cannot help but notice that my question went unanswered."

"Yeah, well..." Dorian scratched at the back of his head, trying to form the correct words to say. "I know you've been battling hard for all of us and..." He trailed off as he spoke, unsure of how to word it.

"Is there something more I need to do?"

Dorian shook his head back and forth quickly as he spoke. "No, no, no. Actually, I want you to do less. Tangeot you've been doing this for a long time. I know you're tired, and I have other Pokemon that can help us out."

Tangeot looked a bit saddened for a moment as they spoke. "Have I not been performing well enough?"

"Of course you have, Tangeot! I just think you deserve to rest, now that you finally have the chance to. I want you with me still, you're my best friend, but I just want you to rest more."

At the mention of being his best friend, the large bird seemed to tear up a bit. It was like they had never thought of that even being a possibility. "I am your best friend?"

"Yes! Tangeot, we've been together since the day my parents... Well, since they..."

A long vine came down from the bird, gently patting Dorian on the head. "Do not worry, we will find them somehow. I am sure of it."

Dorian leaned unconsciously into the comforting touch, nodding as he continued. "Yeah, we will." He paused, composing himself before continuing. "Of course you're my best friend. That's why I want you to rest more."

Tangeot nodded slowly. "Alright, as you wish. However, I will still fly you and your friends around as needed. This you cannot stop me from doing."

"Deal. It's nice to be able to travel where we want so that we can battle people in other areas, anyways."

They both sat in silence for a moment, the vine on Dorian's head moving to wrap around his shoulders in order to hold him against the large bird.

Tangeot was the first to speak. "So, what do we do now?"

"Can we stay like this for a bit before going back?"

Tangeot would have smiled if their beak allowed it. They nodded. "Of course we can."

They sat in quiet in the clearing where they had met for what felt like hours before getting up and returning to their friends. Tangeot was a bit relieved, actually. This newfound retirement meant that Dorian was growing into his own as a trainer. They were incredibly proud of him as well as his friends. They felt true calm for what was probably the first time in their life, and they were very interested in what these three children would be able to do. They just knew that these three would be capable and successful and even though they'd retired, they would still be with them every step of the way.

This isn’t necessarily going to be a top 10 list but I will make a list of who my femlash ships are feel free to add your own!

Iris x Marlize (Flash)

Okay these two started out enemies and all but I think if Marlize had stayed around her and Iris would be great friends. Yes I am aware that Iris is committed to Barry but if Iris was a lesbian or bisexual I am totally down for an Iris & Marlize romance. I also love them because in a way they remind me of Lauryssa will make an appearance on this list of course!

Tangey & Paige (Famous in Love)

Yes this is a picture of just the actresses but their characters have no scenes together so this will have to do! Anyways I ship Paige & Tangey because I feel they have a lot in common a side from being absolutely gorgeous! Both have toxic relationships with people, for example, Tangey’s consist of her emotionally abusive mother Ida and her abusive boyfriend at the time Pablo Money. Paige’s toxic relationship is with Jake Salt! They deserve better. Plus they were my two favorite characters on the show and I wanted to see them interact more! Maybe one day they will be in something together again where their characters interact.

Red Beauty (OUAT)

It probably won’t come as a shock to some people but I honestly wish this could have been OUAT’s Beauty and the Beast couple. First off Belle and Red are great friends, to start with, there is no kidnapping or weird stolkholm syndrome BS so that is a plus. This would also be a much healthier take than Rumbelle and it would still have the Beauty and the Beast Element because Ruby/Red is a werewolf and Belle is Belle but with a queer twist. Ugh the queer baiting is horrible

Sleeping Warrior

Ugh I get so mad everytime I think about what Mulan and Auora could have been. Out of all the OUAT queer couples this couple had the best chemistry and they weren’t even canon. This almost relationship felt natural, organic and it would have been good rep for an interracial couple! This should have been a couple and I am sad it was not! I think O have ranted enough times about this. I will forever ship this couple! Oh and Adam and Eddy never let Mulan say she is bisexual or that she had feelings for a woman! Their show is full of queer baiting and it’s awful! Anyways Sleeping Warrior forever!!!!

Paige & Cassie (Famous in Love)

These two would be so cute together. A side from Cassie being mad at Paige for getting a part in a movie she wanted despite begging Paige to go. They are supportive of each other, I love the way cuddle and they act more couplely like than Paige and Jake! All though on the other hand girls are just more open with their emotions, they are more touchy feely ans just love each other!

Anne & Diana (Anne of Green Gables/Anne)

Okay yes I know they are two different versions of the same couple but man I adore them! I mean the way Diana tells Anne. “I could never love anyone as much as I love you” the seceret bosom friend scene they sounded more like wedding vows than they did friendship. Anne hates Dianna’s imaginary husband! The way Anne and Diane trust each other is the most beautiful thing ever! When Minnie Mae (Diana’s little sister) got sick Anne is the first person Diana seeks out. Anne and Diana are the epitome of friendship goals. In the Netflix series I thought Diana was going to get the lgbtq story line but sadly that is not the case.

Supercorp

Their fandom is annoying but Lena and Kara have amazing chemistry together. First off this unlikely pair since Lena is related to to Lex Luther and Kara is related to Clark Kent so there is some strife between the two men. Kara is the only one to believe in Lena when she was being accused of a crime Lena didn’t commit. Then Lena thanked her by flooding her office with flowers. I mean if Lena had been a guy and done that then it would be seen as romantic. The way they smile at each other and all that and the way they cuddle sometimes it’s amazing. They eat lunch and have fun conversations. So yeah I adore this couple very much so! (Yes I know non canon)

Lauryssa (Arrow)

Out of all the people Laurel that has had amazing chemistry with Nyssa is by far the best! Besides if Sara (Laurel’s sister) can hook up with Oliver than I think it is fair that Laurel and Nyssa hook up. (Sara and Nyssa dated for a while). These two started off enemies, found something to bond over despite it being Sara who was dead at the time. Nyssa trained Laurel in fighting and Laurel helped Nyssa be a regular person. I mean this them walking and finding a place to eat after just beating up a criminal. Does that not sound like what a superhero couple would do? Go out kick some ass, then come home eat snuggle and then do it all over again? Ugh 😑 I feel so queer baited by this ship!

West Park ( The Flash)

I know Linda is married to Wally in the comics and of course Iris is committed to Barry but I only ship the show version of them. Here is what I picture them doing as a couple, they would be coworkers since both work in the News industry, Iris is a a investigative journalist and Linda is a sports journalist. They both would be doing superhero work! Linda would be Dr. Light, they would work with Team Flash. Then on their off time from doing hero work they would be doing CrossFit training, practicing gun safety and some new fighting techniques. This could have been explored besides them being a couple. This is the type of female friendship I wanted. They would of course eat as healthy as possible and then on a relaxation night they would cuddle. Iris’s would in Linda’s lap and Linda would play with Iris’ hair or vice versa!
