4. A physical aspect of JayTim that gets me every time is when the two of them are in battle and they compliment each other’s moves so damned well. Like that scene in Mr. & Mrs. Smith at the end, where it’s do or die and they’re reading each others moves and reactions - they’re so incredibly in sync and when it’s all over, Jason catches Tim’s eye and smirks because he knows how awesome they are and Tim rolls his eyes because yeah, they are, but seriously, save the ego for the bedroom later, yeah?

1. Three shipping tropes I love... You’re talking to the person who loves to turn tropes on their heads. Enemies to Friends to Lovers - oh man. Toss this in with SLOW BURN because character development is a thing that has to happen in order to make these work and I am there. The third one... I’m not sure what it’s called, but where Character A looks at Character B and has the “oh shit, I think I love them” epiphany that comes out of left field and blindsides them.39. First kiss... but I’ve written so many JayTim first kisses! It’s hard to decide which one is the best. Or my favorite. Depends on my mood. Tell you what... gimme a little JayTim prompt and I’ll write you a first kiss.

Masked kiss {JayTim}

I didn’t want to miss @jaykore ‘s birthday train! Here’s some fluffy JayTim featuring a dorky Tim Drake. I hope your day is the bestest, you deserve it! :)

Tim knew that Jason was tailing him. He noticed at least fifteen or so minutes ago when he’d caught a glimmer of red in the reflection of a window. He could have said something then, but he wanted to see how far he could get before Jason would get tired of being ignored. Because he definitely wasn’t actively trying to sneak up on Tim, otherwise Tim never would’ve noticed him. Stalking school 101, never let yourself be in a position to have your reflection showing. Tim knew Jason could do better, so he knew Jason’s endgame wasn’t to be completely inconspicuous. He was honestly surprised that this had been dragged out for as long as it had.

Tim takes a moment to pause his patrol, sitting himself up on a high-rise and staring out over the city. He doesn’t hear Jason, which is more surprising than anything else. Because Jason’s boots were not light weighted, and Tim’s heard him clomp his way down alleyways. Especially if he’s intending to interrogate some guy he’s just smacked the snot out of. One of Jason’s favourite intimidation tactics to make everyone really consider his size. But Tim doesn’t hear him, not even a quiet scuff of his boots against the rooftop or the rattle of anything on his person. So his natural instincts cause him to jump lightly when large hands come to rest on his biceps from behind. But he doesn’t freak out completely, because if it was anyone other than Jason he’d either be seeing the city at a more personal level as he fell from the rooftop or he’d have been restrained. Besides, he knew the area was secure, he’s not a rookie.

“Would’ve been too easy if I wanted to kill you.” Jason hums, his voice muffled slightly by the Hood. Unrecognisable as Jason’s voice really, but not foreign to Tim in the slightest.

“If you’d wanted to kill me, I wouldn’t’ve given you the chance.” Tim hums, tilting his head back slightly to look up at Jason. Not that he can see past the Hood anyway. Jason makes a clicking sound with his tongue and drops his hands from Tim’s arms as he steps back. Tim turns around to fully face Jason, leaning back on his perch. Anyone else and they might worry about losing their balance and toppling over the edge. Jason crosses his arms over his chest and scoffs, Tim can practically see the smirk he knows Jason is giving him.

“Well that depends, when did you notice I was following you?” Jason asks, leaning forward slightly so he’s sort of in Tim’s personal space. Not that Tim minds that much.

“Down by the bakery, saw your reflection. You’re getting sloppy.” Tim teases. Jason makes a low hissing sound and shakes his head as he stands up straighter, resting his hands on his hips.

“Oh dear Babybird, I think you’re the one who’s getting sloppy.” Jason tuts, still shaking his head lightly.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah, I’ve been following you for nearly forty minutes baby.” Jason sounds like he’s sorry for Tim. But Tim knows he’s just being an ass about it.

“Stalker,” Tim smirks, shaking his head lightly.

“I was just watching your back for you because clearly, you can’t watch it yourself.” Jason shrugs.

“I can think of a small handful of people who can follow me without me noticing and as far as I know, you’re the only one of those people who’s ever had any intention of killing me.” Tim raises his eyebrow at Jason as his grin widens. Jason seems to pause for a moment before he drops his hands from his hips and steps up to Tim again, leaning over him, resting his hands on either side of Tim’s body.

“That’s never going to go away no matter how many times I apologise, is it?” Jason asks with an exasperated sigh.

“Maybe one day I’ll let it slide, but you’ve gotta make it up to me big time.” Tim shrugs. Jason chuckles lightly and drops his head forward.

“I’ve been working on it, or is what I do not good enough for you little bird?”

“No, it’s sufficient.” Tim bites his bottom lip.

“Maybe I can work on some of that debt right now,” Jason suggests, and Tim knows that if he could see his face, he’d have that little sideways smirk that always made Tim stare at his lips.

“You could if you took me home.” Tim puts a low purr to his tone that he knows has Jason grinning under the Hood. Jason stands up straighter and offers his hand out for Tim to take. Only Jason’s hand retracts a little before Tim take even go to take it. Tim raises an eyebrow as Jason lets out a soft sigh and reaches up to press a button on the side of his Hood.

“Yeah copy, I’ll be right there.” Jason presses the button again and lets out another small sigh. “Sorry baby, duty calls.”

“Need a hand?” Tim offers with a knowing smile.

“No, I’ve got Roy and Kori on this one, it’s fine.” Jason waves it off as Tim stands up. “Not that I’d want you there anyway.”

“I can handle myself Red.” Tim cocks his hip and crosses his arms over his chest, only slightly offended.

“I know you can, but I’d rather not have you follow us into a suicide mission.” Jason shrugs and Tim’s cocky smile falls from his face.

“Should I be concerned?” He asks and Jason snorts.

“Not in the slightest.” He reaches out to lightly tussle Tim’s hair. “If you’re done for the night you can head back to my safehouse over by the Tower, I’ll meet you there when I’m done.” Jason offers.

“Sounds like a plan.” Tim nods lightly and Jason clicks his tongue again.

“I’ll see you when I get there.” He turns on his toes, but before he can head off, Tim’s quick to grab hold of his hand.

“Wait.” Jason turns back to him. Tim pushes himself up onto his toes and presses a chaste kiss to the Hood, right over where he knows Jason’s lips are behind the mask. It pulls a light chuckle from the older that Tim chooses to ignore. “Don’t die.”

“Didn’t plan on it, baby.” Jason chuckles, tilting his head slightly to nudge the helmet against Tim’s lips lightly again like he was kissing him back. Tim bites his bottom lip to try and will the blush on his cheeks to go away. He drops Jason’s hand and watches as he turns to head off. As soon as Jason’s leaping from the building Tim drops his head into his hands and makes a small groaning noise.

“God that was so fucking lame Drake.”

The way you wrote them both- they're just so ethereal and kind of timeless feeling? Youre writings have that 'sun after a heavy rain' or 'electric warmth' before a storm sensation. Oh well this begs the question, how do you pronounce it? I’ve always read it as “Mole - im” (but the im is the same short sound as when you pronounce ‘him’)

You’re close haha. You’ve got the -im right. But Mol- is pronounced like mall. So Mall-im. Of course the L transition from Mo- to -im is soft like how you’d pronounce pollen.

And this...just got way more complicated than expected xD
